Introduction:
Feasibility report is an evaluation and analysis
of the potential of the proposed project which is
based on extensive investigation and research to
give full comfort to the decision makers.
 A feasibility study report is an evaluation or
analysis of the potential impact of a proposed
project.
 A feasibility study report is an evaluation of a
proposal designed to determine the difficulty in
carrying out a designated task.
 A feasibility study report precedes technical
development and project implementation.

Definition:
 A feasibility study is an analysis that takes all of a
projects relevant factors into account including
economic, technical, legal and scheduling
considerations to ascertain the likelihood of
completing the project successfully.
 A feasibility report is the results of a feasibility
study. This report details whether or not a project
should be undertaken and the reasons for that
decisions.
 This report content the introduction or executive
summary, background, outline of project,
methodology or method of analysis, overview of
alternatives, conclusion and recommendation.

What is feasibility report
 Feasibility is defined as the practical extent to
which a project can be performed successfully.
To evaluate feasibility, a feasibility study is
performed.
 A feasibility study report is a business plan for a
specific project. It provides the rationale and
the support for that rationale to pursue a
selected project from the feasibility phase
which is pre construction, construction and
occupancy through investment and technical
management.

 A feasibility study in health care is part of a
strategic plan designed to address a medical, acute
or long term care in or outpatient service expansion
or new development.
 It encompasses several components which are
I. The market study identifying where the
customers are and how they get connected to
your service.
II. A financial feasibility analysis, typically
encompassing three to five years of proforma
financial statements.
III. The final step in the completion of the healthcare
strategic planning process are the business plan
components specifying the execution plan for
making the project a reality.

Types of feasibility report:
A feasibility analysis evaluates the project’s
potential for success; therefore, perceived
objectivity is an essential factor in the credibility of
the study for potential investors and lending
institutions. There are five types of feasibility
study—separate areas that a feasibility study
examines, described below:
1. Technical Feasibility:
This assessment focuses on the technical resources
available to the organization. It helps organizations
determine whether the technical resources meet
capacity and whether the technical team is capable
of converting the ideas into working systems.
21-07-2021
7
Technical feasibility also involves the evaluation of
the hardware, software, and other technical
requirements of the proposed system. As an
exaggerated example, an organization wouldn’t want
to try to put Star Trek’s transporters in their building-
currently, this project is not technically feasible.
2. Economic Feasibility:
This assessment typically involves a cost/ benefits
analysis of the project, helping organizations
determine the viability, cost, and benefits associated
with a project before financial resources are
allocated. It also serves as an independent project
assessment and enhances project credibility—helping
decision-makers determine the positive economic
benefits to the organization that the proposed
project will provide.

3. Legal Feasibility:
This assessment investigates whether any aspect of the
proposed project conflicts with legal requirements like
zoning laws, data protection acts or social media laws. Let’s
say an organization wants to construct a new office
building in a specific location. A feasibility study might
reveal the organization’s ideal location isn’t zoned for that
type of business. That organization has just saved
considerable time and effort by learning that their project
was not feasible right from the beginning.
4. Operational Feasibility:
This assessment involves undertaking a study to analyze
and determine whether—and how well—the organization’s
needs can be met by completing the project. Operational
feasibility studies also examine how a project plan satisfies
the requirements identified in the requirements analysis
phase of system development.
21-07-2021
9
5. Scheduling Feasibility:
This assessment is the most important for project
success; after all, a project will fail if not completed on
time. In scheduling feasibility, an organization
estimates how much time the project will take to
complete.
When these areas have all been examined, the
feasibility analysis helps identify any constraints the
proposed project may face, including:
i. Internal Project Constraints: Technical, Technology,
Budget, Resource, etc.
ii. Internal Corporate Constraints: Financial, Marketing,
Export, etc.
iii. External Constraints: Logistics, Environment, Laws,
and Regulations, etc.

10
Objectives of the feasibility report:
The objective of the feasibility study report is to
establish the reasons for developing the software
that is acceptable to users, adaptable to change and
conformable to established standards. Various other
objectives of feasibility study are listed below:
To analyze whether the software will meet
organisational requirements.
To determine whether the software can be
implemented using the current technology and
within the specified budget and schedule.
 To determine whether the software can be
integrated with other existing software.
21-07-2021
11
Needs of feasibility report:
It determine the potential of the existing
system.
It finds or determine all the problem of existing
system.
To determine all the goals of the system.
It finds all possible solutions of the problem of
existing system.
It finds technology required to solve these
problems.
21-07-2021
12
 It determines really which solutions is easy for
operational from the point of view of customer or
employees such that it requires very less time with
100 percent accuracy.
 It determines what hardware and software is
required to obtain solution of each problem or
proposed system.
 It determines cost requirements of the complete
proposed system in terms of cost of hardware
required, software required, designing new system,
implementing and training, proposed maintenance
cost.

Importance of feasibility report in hospital
planning:
It has a great importance on hospital planning as
1. It determines the viability of an idea or to
prepare initiative for the planning of the hospital.
2. A feasibility study aids in transforming an idea
into a viable reality.
3. It also identifies potential obstacles that may
impede its operations and recognize the amount
of funding.
4. It comprises a short description of the new
services or healthcare centre, local marketing,
taxation obligation, healthcare policies and the
financial data.
5. It broaden the scope in order to identify the
new opportunities.
6. It enhances the resources skills while
anticipating the challenges.
7. It has importance in narrowing down the
potential risks and in finding solutions.
8. Most importantly, it identifies the outcome of
the project with utmost accuracy.
9. It helps to carrying out a demand analysis for
the space or medical services provided by the
proposed facility.

15
Reason to prepare feasibility report:
There are numerous benefits to creating a
feasibility study report. Few main reasons for
preparing a feasibility study report are discussed
below:
 It helps to know whether you are allowed to
develop and under what terms will save needed
time and capital.
 It is beneficial to know about property
assessment.
 A feasibility study report can give the principals
the needed confidence boost to move forward
with the project.

16
Conclusion
 A hospital feasibility study report is the best
way to find out the sources of patient flow to the
hospital.
 It comprises both a market and financial
analysis of the project and is an essential aspect
to be considered either while establishing a new
hospital or a new facility in an existing hospital or
a new facility in an existing hospital or expanding
the existing hospital.
The study report conducted to evaluate
investment opportunities for establishing a
hospital.
