FE Exam (Proposed) Course Objective:
• To impart training to Saudi Engineering/Science/Technology
Students to pass the Fundamental of Engineering (FE) exam
• This course would serve as a refresher for students who have
already completed their majors of the engineering studies or plan
to take their engineering majors in near future

Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
Exam (The University-KFUPM
Perspective):
• Designed for recent KFUPM/Saudi graduates or for
KFUPM/Saudi students who are close to finishing an
undergraduate engineering degree
• Proposed to offer through Deanship of Continuing
Education
• To encourage KFUPM students who meet the Saudi
Council of Engineers (SCE) Criteria to take the (proposed)
course. Criteria of SCE:
- Member of Saudi Council of Engineers
- Residing within Geographical Boundaries of Kingdom of

Obtaining Licensure:
• Graduation
The first step is graduating from an ABET-accredited
engineering program (For Computer Science/IT only SCE
Membership is Required)
• FE Exam
The first exam in the licensure process is the
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE). This exam is offered
through VUE Pearson throughout the year
• Work Experience
Four years experience as an Engineer
• PE Exam
After the appropriate experience required, you can take
the Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE)

• Demonstrates that Professional has
accomplished a recognized standard
• Sets him apart from others in profession
• Provides career options and opportunities that
might not have been available otherwise
• Serves as a protection of public health, safety,

as a consultant

• Engineer’s career could last 40 years or more
Changes can take place
• Only licensed professionals are allowed to offer their
services to the public and sign and seal plans for the

level of respect and credibility among your
engineering peers

• The FE exam is a 110 questions multiple-choice test
• The exam appointment time is 6 hours long and includes
- A nondisclosure agreement (2 minutes)
- Tutorial (8 minutes)
- The exam (5 hours and 20 minutes)
- A scheduled break (25 minutes)
