Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as the "Iron Man of India", was born on October 31, 1875. He played a pivotal role in India's independence movement and helped unite over 500 princely states into the union of India after independence. Patel served as the first Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of independent India. He is remembered for successfully integrating the princely states of India through diplomatic and political means. Patel passed away on December 15, 1950 in Mumbai.

Meera Bai was a 16th century Hindu mystic poet from a royal family in Rajasthan, India who was celebrated for her thousands of devotional poems praising Lord Krishna. As a devotee of Krishna, legends say she disregarded social conventions by treating Krishna as her lover and faced persecution from her in-laws for her religious devotion, yet she remained a widely known and cherished figure who played a prominent role in spreading the Hindu tradition of Bhakti.

Guru Tegh Bahadur was born in 1621 AD and died in 1675 AD. In 1675, Kashmiri Pandits approached Guru Tegh Bahadar for help as Emperor Aurangzeb had given them a choice to convert to Islam or be killed. Guru Tegh Bahadar agreed to help the Pandits and protect their religious freedom.
Valmiki
Valmiki is considered the first poet in Sanskrit literature. He lived in the first millennium BCE and is renowned for composing the epic Ramayana. The text credits him as the author and he is revered as the originator of the poetic meter used in Sanskrit epics. Originally a highway robber named Ratnakar, he was influenced by the divine sage Narada to abandon his criminal ways and understand the truth of life, leading him to compose the Ramayana.

Mother Teresa was born in 1910 in Skopje, Yugoslavia and decided to join religious life at a young age. She took her vows at age 21 and joined the Sisters of Loretto. In 1950, she received permission from the Vatican to start the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta, India to care for the poor and needy. Over her lifetime, she opened homes and hospices throughout Calcutta and received numerous honors including the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her humanitarian work helping the poor and sick in India.
