Junior Mechanical Design Engineer, Teknion June, 2012- present
 Managed the technical designs and logistic aspects of various design projects
from the design inceptions through to the finished products for small and large
companies such as Exxon and Imperial Oil, and trade shows such as Neocon and
IIDEX.
 Interpreted customer needs, modified existing products and designed new
products that addressed the specific customer requirements.
 My designs included different types of plastics (UHMW, Delrin, polycarbonate),
Aluminum (extrusion and machined), sheet metals (including polishing and
plating), glass (6mm and 10mm, tempered and laminated, clear and back
painted/frosted), and the standard off-self components such as screws, self-
clinching PEM studs/nuts, spacers, tubes, foam, and rubber gaskets.
 Liaised with project managers, sales, and dealers to ensure that the derived
design solutions fell within the scope of the allowed specials.
 Assisted and directed sales, manufacturing engineers, purchasers, B.O.M and
routing controllers, suppliers, installers, and manufacturing staff to ensure the
customers received the complete and accurate products.

 Produced detailed and complete drawing packages for specials using Solidworks,
including routing, B.O.M, manufacturing, and assembly notes.
 Liaised with 3rd party suppliers to source components required to produce the new
products.
 Prepared prototypes to prove the viability of the product and the associated
processes, and to validate that the designs meet or exceed the design
requirements, adhere to Teknion and applicable industry standards, and meet the
customers’ requirements and specifications.
 Provided Technical Support for the manufacturability, function, appearance,
product application, product offering, testing and installation of all specials (past &
present).
 Assisted sales and customers in answering product related technical questions,
and assisted in providing pricing for the new designs.
Conservation Engineering Intern, Ontario Power Authority Sep, 2011- Mar, 2012
 Studied engineered worksheets prepared by consulting firms to examine them for
accuracy and conformance with OPA’s measures and incentive rates.
 Wrote several VBA (Visual Basic for Application) codes for Excel macros to
improve the performance, make more secure, and update the engineered
worksheets.
 Met with my director and the conservation engineering team on a weekly basis to
touch base and report on my work process.
 Researched projects to evaluate if they are eligible to receive the Conservation
Fund. The research included me benchmarking the project to existing common
and state of the art projects, and assessing its feasibility and conservation value. I
also wrote a report for every project stating my findings including recommended
course of actions, such as: resubmitting the project with a more detailed theoretical
analysis, undertaking a research, or conducting a pilot testing.
 Tested four energy modelling software packages (EE4, eQuest, Trace 700, and
EnergyPro) to determine if they should be approved by the OPA to be used by
companies to model their facilities’ energy efficiency and be eligible for
conservation incentives.
 Explored alternative light bulb options to reduce purchase and installation cost that
are more energy efficient than the traditional incandescent bulbs. I contacted
various head offices of major light bulb manufacturers, such as Philips and
Sylvania, to confirm the continuous production of certain light bulbs and their
availability in Ontario.
Safety Engineering Intern, Welded Tube of Canada May-Sep, 2010
 Analyzed steel mills and various heavy machinery for safety hazards at the main
company factories and job sites within Ontario.
 Generated and recommended safety solutions and precautions to protect workers.

INTERESTS
REFERENCES
 Performed FEA (Finite Element Analysis) analysis using COSMOSworks software
to determine if guards and shields can protect workers by withstanding impact
forces.
 Designed and recommended devices to make performing tasks safer.
 Identified energy sources--such as: electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, potential,
pressurized water, and heat--and determined safe and sound methods to release
those energy sources when lockout is required.
 Wrote lockout procedures, operation manuals, procedure manuals, and risk
assessments.
 In total, I wrote 29 documents with over 600 pages which were used for training
workers and were used by the company as legal documents.
 Created tests for the lockout procedures to be completed by workers in training,
and assisted in the training of workers.
 Created placards to be posted on machinery for quick lockout information.
 Attended meetings to ensure documents are approved by the plant managers and
maintenance personnel, and revised the documents as recommended.
 Adhered to safety laws, regulations and standards, maintenance and operation
manuals of the manufacturers, and the company policy.
Designing, creating and repairing mechanical devices. Inventing and 3D printing. Hand
drawing, photography and image editing.
