I've structured my ideas into, intro, interview (with clips / photos involved) and to end it a live performance.
I feel this falls into the typical conventions of a podcast that you'd see on YouTube, maybe more so on the music side
than anything else. With the multiple camera angles, close-ups of the host and guest, showing clips of past performances
etc I feel this is fairly common within a music podcast / interview but I also want to add things that will break out of
these conventions by using my Sony hi8 camera and having a live performance at the end of the interview.
The style I'm going for I feel gives a slightly more unique approach to a podcast interview and with a bit more style by
adding other cameras and having a live performance, I intend on having a comfortable atmosphere for the interview just
to make it feel more organic and natural.
With this I believe it will cater toward my audience as it gives them more to look forward too with the live performance
especially but also the understanding of the local music scene in York and how it all works in a city which gives little to no
opportunity for a more creative person.

Script:
I'm going to have a loose script as I want to keep the interview more organic and laidback so I'm going to ask the basic questions
such as : what's your name, what do you do, why did you start making music and why do you make music etc. I want to also
cover the basic areas of albums, the music industry, is music important to push a message as these will most likely snowball into
other topics and conversation.

I am going to be using a few of the cannon 800d cameras offered by college as I intend on having multiple camera angles in this
podcast along with my Sony hi8 to add my own flare to it and make it stand out against other podcasts.

My personnel would only be me and the guest as I'm going to have all the cameras set up on tripods but if needed I will bring
Brandon as a helping hand.

7. Production Schedule:
Week 1: I am going to focus on the planning side of things, write up a loose script that I'm going to follow as I want the
interview to feel more natural and organic rather than having all the questions be set out ready. With this I'm also going to
plan a breakdown of who's involved, contact details, and explain why I've chosen them for my podcast and interview.
Week 2: film the interview at the stoneplan work yard which has a podcast room, I'm going to be using a 2-3 cannon 800d
cameras for this along with my Sony hi8 camera to give it a creative edge. I need this many cameras as I want to get a wide
angle shot of us both and two close up cameras for each other to make the interview feel more personal and close to the
viewer. I also am going to be using one of the cannon 800d cameras to film the live performance along with the Sony hi8
which I will use and film with myself rather than have it be on a tripod.
Week 3: I will spend this week collecting and editing all the footage together, I want to try and find some free visual presets
for a intro, preferably with a 80s retro horror style to fit the name of the podcast (intothecrypt)
Week 4: in the final week of production we will begin to evaluate the work, I want to thoroughly try to evaluate my work and
say why I chose the decisions and how they turned out.

8. Interview breakdown

I have chosen fin for this podcast / interview project as he has been making music since he was around 10 years old giving him
extensive experience and knowledge about it and how it works. He's also been in a band for a few years before disbanding
recently meaning he also has experience with a group setting within music. I feel like he fits with the overall theme of this project
because of those reasons and how he's had to evolve as he's grown up along with the changes of the music industry and people
around him. With his experiences and longevity he can also give good insight into the music scene in the local area and how York
is very traditional and doesn’t have a big scene at all.
I'm going to interview him at his work yard(stoneplan) as it has a podcast room which also has some facility's for making a
podcast so I may not have to book out a bunch of equipment making the task easier for me and anyone else involved.
I intend on doing the interview next week on the Tuesday (6th December) as it’s the most optimal day for me to film and for fin to
get there.

9. Interview techniques / set up
Techniques :
• make a list of questions that directly relate to fin or the music as it gives him something to speak about and not be one
worded answers.
• Give fin time to speak and explain before asking another question
• Build upon some of the answers he gave to dive deeper into the question
Style techniques :
• Have both of us in the camera frame with a wide angle
• Have two close up cameras one for me and one for fin
• Have the sony hi8 filming us both also
• Have a handheld approach with the live performance with the sony hi8 but have the cannon 800d on a tripod
