1) Simplifying privacy settings into a single control with 5 options for who can see posts rather than complex individual settings.
2) Testing the changes with 40,000 users in the US in the first week and expanding to 80,000+ users internationally in the second week.
3) Providing transition tools to help users change their existing settings to the new simplified options and receiving feedback during the rollout.

Conventional wisdom says that when branching for release, development for the release should be done on the release branch and integrated back to main. However, the team at Guerrilla Games has implemented a reverse workflow process which, when supported by a few carefully chosen tools, has been found to work very well. Learn how to use this unorthodox approach to regain complete control over your release process while making the release cycle much more transparent to everybody involved.
These is my preso during the UK Maharamoot of 2012 in Lancaster (MaharaUK12). I present some of the key new features in Mahara 1.5 and some of the already ready features for 1.6 (coming in October 2012 isch). I also present tow interesting features based on the plugin External Resources, developed by Laurent Opprecht from University of Geneva and the work of Emily Lenel (University of Caen) on how to manage informal/formal skills during training medical doctors internship.
