The document discusses two technologies used in producing a video: Screencast-O-Matic and Survey Monkey. Screencast-O-Matic is a free screen recording tool that allows audio recording and easy uploading to YouTube. Survey Monkey is an online survey tool that makes creating, distributing, and analyzing questionnaires simple. Both tools were found to be useful in gathering feedback for the video project.

1. When producing the video, I forgot about 2 technologies which I had used. These are the screencast-
o-matic screen capturer and survey monkey. I will write a little about each here now on how I found
them:
Screencast-O-Matic:
Screencast-o-matic is a website with an inbuilt java screen capturer. The website is free which is very
good, and it only puts a small advert of there web address in the bottom left corner. The screen
capturer works very well, and a lot better then others I have used before which have caused the
computer to become very slow. Using screencast the computer did not slow at all. It also
automatically highlights the mouse when it moves which is very useful, it supports audio recording
via microphone as well which meant commentating could be done at the same time and not have to
be edited in after. It was easy to select the region of the screen which you wanted to record, and
had options to pause the video whilst recording and resume which was a very handy feature. Lastly,
it has an option to upload straight to YouTube, which made it very easy to get the video online and
all in all it is very good software.
Survey Monkey:
Survey monkey is another software done via a website. It is used to create online questionnaires. It
is very simple to create and has a lot of options; it also makes distributing it very easy as it generates
a web link you can post to twitter, facebook or email to people to make it easy to fill in, rather then
having to print off numerous copies, this also wasting paper. It is also a lot more likely people will
bother to fill it in as they only have to click a few buttons. This is especially the case with the target
audience of the film, as they often type faster then writing, and this meant they were more willing to
fill it in, and also there was no messy handwriting to read! Survey monkey also collects the results
for you, so there is no tallying up and loosing count yourself, and it also works out percentages for
you. This was very useful software, and made doing the questionnaire for my feedback incredibly
easy. There is also an option to upgrade your account and it will then produce pie charts, bar charts
and numerous other styles of charts for you. I did not use this option as I did not need it, but for
bigger business’s this would be an incredibly useful tool, and overall I feel survey monkey is excellent
software.
