TÜV Certification: Simplify Tool Qualification for safety-critical DevelopmentIntland Software GmbH
Standards in many highly regulated safety-critical industries require developers to verify the software tools for use in the development of safety-critical products. The purpose of this tool qualification process is to determine whether the software tool is fit for use in safety-critical development lifecycles, and is thus a prerequisite to compliance with relevant standards. However, it’s often a lengthy and work-intensive process.
With codeBeamer’s TÜV Trusted Tool certification for compliance with ISO 26262 and IEC 61508, the time and effort costs of tool qualification are greatly reduced. The certification provides assurance that specific features of codeBeamer ALM meet critical functional safety requirements as per the guidelines of the general safety standard IEC 61508, and its derivative ISO 26262 for automotive systems development. Our webinar helps you to learn how this TÜV qualification can cut the costs of your tool qualification processes in the medical, automotive, avionics, and other sectors.

Comparing Legacy and Modern e-commerce solutionsMike Ensor
As a result of fantastic growth, the software industry has undergone the next step in "solution evolution" over the past 5 years. Enablement tools like Docker, AWS/GCE/Azure, OSS visibility/availability and architecture structures such as distributed computation, microservices, event sourcing and reactive solutions have brought forth more robust and scaleable solutions. The platforms of the past have either kept up with the trends and become more nimble and lean, or have fallen off to the side and become relics of the past.
This deck discusses the differences between large monolithic e-commerce platforms versus more modern, lean e-commerce frameworks and why architectural structures are important when selecting a platform to increase the likelihood of future proofing your solution.
Microsoft DevOps for AI with GoDataDrivenGoDataDriven
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies extend the capabilities of software applications that are now found throughout our daily life: digital assistants, facial recognition, photo captioning, banking services, and product recommendations. The difficult part about integrating AI or ML into an application is not the technology, or the math, or the science or the algorithms. The challenge is getting the model deployed into a production environment and keeping it operational and supportable. Software development teams know how to deliver business applications and cloud services. AI/ML teams know how to develop models that can transform a business. But when it comes to putting the two together to implement an application pipeline specific to AI/ML — to automate it and wrap it around good deployment practices — the process needs some effort to be successful.

On 17th January 2018 Exactpro successfully completed a management buyout from London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), signed a new multi-year master services agreement with LSEG, and opened its head office in London.
What else has happened in 2018?
I wanted to take the opportunity to reflect on what has been an unusual year for Exactpro.
Integration front to back - Mr. Custodian tear down that wall
The scope of the application level has been continuous extended over the years, albeit with a focus on the area of pre-trade and trade.
Recently, there has been an increased interest to move further into the area of post-trade which is predominantly driven by the ISO 20022 standard. Is there really a need for new FIX messages in areas such as payments and
what are the integration problems needing a resolution?

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
The Art of the Pitch: WordPress Relationships and SalesLaura Byrne
Clients don’t know what they don’t know. What web solutions are right for them? How does WordPress come into the picture? How do you make sure you understand scope and timeline? What do you do if sometime changes?
All these questions and more will be explored as we talk about matching clients’ needs with what your agency offers without pulling teeth or pulling your hair out. Practical tips, and strategies for successful relationship building that leads to closing the deal.
Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.
Let's dive deeper into the world of ODC! Ricardo Alves (OutSystems) will join us to tell all about the new Data Fabric. After that, Sezen de Bruijn (OutSystems) will get into the details on how to best design a sturdy architecture within ODC.
