medieval post Civil War South. Chesnutt explores the role of race in shaping one s true identity
through the experiences of two bi racial siblings, John and Rena Walden, as they transcend the
biological color barrier. Inspired by her older brother s decade of splendid success living as an
apparently pure white man, an existence free of all the restrictions she encounters as a bi racial
individual, Rena agrees to abandon and reject her black identity with devastating consequences. A
largely didactic novel, driven by Chesnutt s motivation to explore the nuances of racial identity in

in their beliefs and religious life. This leads to inferring that people did not understand natural
phenomena and thought it was a punishment for their behavior from the deities. People thought
natural phenomena was able to change based on their relationships with the deities.
2. People created a sense of community and working together. Eventually, some people began to
question their belief systems through communication and realized that they can focus more on
relationships among human beings. This led to both uniformity, dispute and separation, among

Carboxylic acids (Lactic, propionic, caproic, acetic, picolinic etc.) are chemicals extensively used

obtained by fermentation of sugars, the presence of fermentation by products, media impurities

Turbulent Flow Trial in Pipe Flow Experiment
For experiment 100 (pipe flow) there were some operational errors that took place during the lab
period. There was one accident that involved the safety officer and the cross trainer that was
there for the first lab period. Both the cross trainer and the safety officer were near the viscometer
as they were both operating it. When the cross trainer finished utilizing the suction bulb, he was
instructed by the team leader to begin recoding the density measurements. The cross trainer
reached into the water bath picking up a volumetric flask by its cap, this caused the flask to slip
from its cap and fall to the table. While this was happening, the safety officer was crouched near
the cross trainer with a stopwatch trying to record the liquids efflux time. As the flask was falling
the safety officer reached out to catch it and accidently cut his hand when the flask hit the table.
Review attached accident report in the appendix for further detail of the accident.
During the first lab period, after the accident was cleaned up, we were able to obtain four density
and viscosity measurements for both water and propylene glycol at different temperatures. For the
pipe flow experiments, we were able to complete eight trials for turbulent flow experiment, twenty
trials for the pump performance experiment, and five trials for the laminar experiment. These trial
numbers were short of our goal of finishing all of the trials for both turbulent laminar for that day
because of the accident
