Expressing ability  I couldn’t ride a bike when I was 6 years old.  I can take pictures with my phone.  I won’t be able to retire when I’m 65.  I could write my name when I was 2.  What verb do we use to express ability in the present?  What verb do we use to express ability in the past?  What verb expression do we use to express ability in any other context e.g. in the future?  We can also use “be able to” in the present and past, but it’s more formal than “can” and “could”
