We use the  PRESENT CONTINUOUS  for things that:  Are happening at the moment of speaking.  Are temporary and happening around now, but maybe not at the moment of speaking. STATE VERBS:  I am not understanding / I don’t understand the activity.  I like him / I’m liking him.  I have / am having three brothers. I don’t remember / am not remembering her name.  State verbs express:  Opinions  Feelings  Cognition  We don’t usually use state verbs in continuous verb form like love hate  believe think understand  agree  want have (possession) know  be  I don’t understand the activity.  I like him.  I have three brothers. I don’t remember her name.
