Exposotory Essay
Writing an expository essay can be a challenging task, requiring a careful balance of research,
analysis, and effective communication. The difficulty lies not only in presenting factual
information but also in crafting a coherent and engaging narrative that effectively conveys the
chosen topic.
One of the challenges is the need for thorough research to ensure the accuracy of the information
presented. This involves delving into credible sources, extracting relevant data, and organizing it
in a way that logically supports the central theme of the essay. The writer must also possess a
strong analytical skillset to evaluate the information critically and present a well-rounded
perspective.
Moreover, maintaining clarity and coherence throughout the essay can be daunting. The writer
must ensure that each paragraph flows seamlessly into the next, providing a logical progression
of ideas. This requires a keen understanding of structure and organization to prevent the essay
from becoming disjointed or confusing for the reader.
Another aspect that adds to the complexity is the requirement to maintain an objective tone.
Expository essays are meant to present information without personal bias, making it crucial for
the writer to separate their opinions from the facts. Striking the right balance between providing
insightful analysis and remaining impartial can be a delicate task.
In conclusion, crafting an expository essay demands a combination of research, analytical skills,
and effective communication. The writer must navigate through a plethora of information,
maintain clarity in presentation, and uphold an objective stance. While challenging, mastering the
art of expository writing can lead to a rewarding and enriching experience.

Biomedical Science Personal Statement
Science excites and leads to discovery. During high school, I went through a
traumatic operation, where I was in my last year doing GCSES and this experience
gave me valuable understandings. I went under a CT scanner and diagnosed with a
tumour in my stomach, which the doctors had to remove. This was a rare case and
with the help of scientific discovery I was able to live. This experience made me
appreciate healthcare sciencemuch more. I am in awe of how medical advances have
helped shaped the future of some people s lives today. Being in charge of making
people s health better, and looking for new cures for diseases has interested me in
biomedical science.

My wish to help people, and improve their lives originates from my nurturing, caring
personality. My interest in biomedical science has been a calculated choice, by
considering my life experiences.
My dedication and love towards science reflected in my grades for the Access to
HE course in combined science. The Access course included biology, chemistry
maths, and physics. Biology and chemistry provide analytic learning and knowledge
of the human body, preparing me for biomedical science at university. Maths and
physics are essential for problem solving, which are essential skills for a career in
biomedical science and any healthcare profession. The course also boosted my skills
in self improvement and creative thinking.
As some of my units within the Access course included coursework and exams I
liked being assessed this way. I felt I worked a lot better with this balance of
assessment, which the biomedical science degree has.
During spare time, I love engaging in good books and documentaries on human

Introduction This report will evaluate the roles and responsibilities of a midwife.
Midwifery encompasses care of women during pregnancy, labour, and the
postpartum period, as well as care of the new born. (WHO, 2015) This is a recent
definition and clearly points out that a midwife has many roles and
responsibilities. The NMC Codes of Conduct will be evaluated with specific
emphasis on recent changes within healthcare. These changes took place as a
result of the tragedies at Mid Staffordshire Hospital in 2005 2009 and are the
outcome of the Francis report in order to improve care given to patients. Summary
Since the Mid Staffordshire trust was investigated by Robert Francis in 2009
regarding the lack of care given to the patients; there has been many changes
implemented within the NHS to improve the care and safety of the patients. Some
of the recent changes include the whistleblowing policy, implementation of the 6 c s
and the CQC. These were all put into place to try and stop any further problems
similar to the Staffordshire scandal in the future. All nurses and midwives must be
registered to Professional body in order to practice which could be the NMC.

Essay about The Privacy of E-Mail
The Privacy of E Mail
Today the Internet is being used more and more frequently, and the question of e
mail privacy is becoming more and more of an issue in society. Many people today,
both at work and at home, are using e mail to keep in touch with their friends, family,
and their co workers. Sometimes the information that is contained in these messages
is private and confidential, neither the sender nor the receiver wish any one else to
be privy to what is contained in these messages. What happens if that very private
piece of mail is intercepted and read by those whom it is not meant for? For some
people it might only be a slight problem, but for others it could cause some serious
problems. It also brings up the issue of who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It would be very difficult to prove that someone intercepted a message that was not
meant for them and read it. Another problem that comes with this act is that it does
not protect the person from having their e mail read by an inside source . An inside
source would include, their boss or another member of the company that they are
working for, so someone in that position could reasonably read their e mail without
having to worry about reprimands form the company. Courts have ruled that e
mail sent via an office system is only private if the sender has a reasonable
expectation of privacy when they send it. Again this can be pretty vague about
what a persons reasonable expectation of privacy for their e mail means. What
reasonable expectation means for one person may be very different for another,
creating quite a problem in the company about what reasonable expectation is.
Many companies now have policies for their employee e mail that states that it is
not a good idea for a person to send private e mail through the companies system. It
is also a know fact that if the company owns the system that the e mail is being sent
through then they have the right to inspect and to read what is being sent. If a
person wishes to avoid prying eyes they might wish to have an old fashioned face to
face conversation when discussing something that is private.

Ayman Al-Zawahiri Influence
As of 10SEP2015 Ayman al Zawahiri, who took over as leader of al Qaeda after
the death of Osama bin Laden, sent a message accusing the ISIS leader and self
proclaimed caliph Abu Bakr al Baghdadi of sedition, and declared all out war against
the Islamic State however no sooner than five days after this statement Al Zawahiri
extended an olive branch saying that all Muslim s should work together against the
common enemy.
So to say the least these two organizations have complicated relations at best. This
current state of hostility has not always been the case though, at one point though
shaky al Qaeda, and ISIS s precursors were allied. To illustrate this I will take us back
in time to the origins of ISIS and al Qaeda s relationship in Iraq. ... Show more

Though al Zawahiri declared war upon Isis declaring al Baghdadis caliphate
illegitimate also extended an olive branch towards ISIS saying they could work
together. This confusing chain of events could be his way of trying to influence
what he sees as an undisciplined and misguided organization to drift towards his
view of how jihad should be fought, possibly trying to turn ISIS back towards al
Qaeda s leadership in the event of Baghdadis death. There is I believe, a certain
amount of personal animosity between al Zawahiri and al Baghdadi which
prevents them from actively agreeing on what is best for the Muslim world and
how that world should be led and because of this makes cooperation between the
two groups unlikely at this point. However having said this, the very fact that al
Zawahiri is attempting cooperation with ISIS is troubling. He realizes that an
alliance preferably under al Qaeda leadership would strengthen his influence for the
greater battle against the west. An alliance such as this could be devastating for the
west as it could give the platform and funding for the jihadists to launch more
frequent larger scale attacks throughout the world and draw more radicalized
followers to their cause. This is currently an unlikely situation in my view because
ISIS and Al Qaeda are actively competing against each

The Role Of Sex Offenders In Prisons
Granted, one thing that could be done to prevent so many sex crimes from
happening is to rehabilitate the offender while incarcerated. However, the
rehabilitation of sex offenders does, cost a lot of money to get the right programs.
The Department of Corrections asked for 1.2 million dollars. This money was then
deposited towards treatment programs for sex offenders in prison. Many prisons put
rehab and therapy up as an option for the offender even if some prisoners don t want
to accept it or get treatment. In order to help a sex offenderor anyone at all they have
to want to get help and they themselves have to believe that they have troubles and
they are unsafe; instead of placing sex offenders in treatment programs who don t
want it,

Live Theatre Analysis Essay
Live Theatre Analysis
The set used for Vernon God Little was highly symbolic and simplistic; when we
walked into the theatre we could visually see that there were flowers, cards and
memorable items attached on the audiences seats above our heads, which already
created a sombre atmosphere around the theatre.
Once seated, we saw that the stage was mainly bare with a chair on the left hand side
of the stage. This suggested to the audience that the play would be non naturalistic
unlike, a west end theatre production.
The set throughout the play was non naturalistic as the props used were to represent
things, for example they used the sofa s to represent cars on the stage, which had

There were several props used within the play which were significant for example,
the toy guns which were used frequently, suggesting that there was a theme of
violence and crime in Vernon God Little. This ties in with the beginning of the play,
in where the character Jesus shot 17 students. Another important prop used was the
black telephone used by Vernon and Taylor.
The colours used in the set of Vernon God Little were neutral colours showing the
statues and class of the whole community, which contrasted the colours used when
Vernon went to Mexico. The colours were bright and vivid fitting with the set
making it as realistic as it could be.
A momentous moment in the play was when Vernon was about to die. There was a
prop used which was representing the cross on where Jesus died. Vernon was
strapped on like Jesus and was levitated upwards to the ceiling highly portraying the
theme of religion within the play.
Costume used in Vernon God Little was mainly symbolic to the audience. The main
character Vernon, wore jeans and a plain bright top, which represented his age and
his class. Vernon characterisation fitted to a troubled teenager. His movements were
quite awkward and he tended to shrug his shoulder and mover his arms around. This
could suggest to the audience how Vernon is vulnerable and is just a young child.
Essay about Thoughts on the Color, Blue
Thoughts on the Color, Blue
During the time when polytheistic religions were widely practiced in Europe,
colors represented ideas associated with the paranormal and the spiritual. In many
cases, the color blue represented safety and protection. It was believed that if
someone wore or carried something blue, the bearer would be protected from evil
spirits. Over time, as patriarchal societies formed, the welfare of the male child took
priority over the welfare of the female child. Since male children were more
important, parents surrounded their sons with blue objects. This explains the
common association of males and the color blue that exists even in modern society.
A common practice among new families and couples with children on ... Show more

Strictly speaking, blue is nothing but light that is reflected off the surface of an object
and into receivers. These receivers then send electrical impulses to the brain that then
interprets the impulses as blue. In that case, what more is color other than the
interpretation of electrical signals? Without the stimuli and the receiver, there would
be no color. In that case, color is only defined by the measurement of something else.
A scientific approach to seeing color reveals a puzzling explanation.
An object of any shade of blue contains pigments of that shade. These pigments
make the object blue by reflecting the blue light into the eyes. The other colored
lights are absorbed into the pigments. So, it is not that the object is blue. It is that it
absorbs everything but blue. The color is not the property of the object because it
never became part of the object. The object is not blue but the reason one would say
it is blue is because the brain interprets it as blue, not everything but blue.
Since color is only perceived by the eyes and interpreted by the brain, the question
of the existence of color arises. If not for the ability of receptors receiving reflected
light, then how else does color exist? Furthermore, if everyone in the world was
blind, then would blue still be blue? If the blue is still significant even without proper
perception, then there must be some quality
Similarities Between The American Dream In The Great
Gatsby
In the Declaration of Independence it is stated that all men are created equal , which
statement supposed to be the starter of the American Dream. This dream gives hope
and opportunities to the poor people and also the immigrants believe in making
fortune and becoming wealthy and successful. The Great Gatsby of F. Scott Fitzgerald
perfectly describes the dream in accomplishing and real and sometimes
disillusioning sides of the American Dream. In this case, Fitzgerald personal life and
his novel closely related to the American Dream. Furthermore, it can be possible to
draw a parallel between the life of the main character, Jay Gatsbyand the writer,
Fitzgerald. Similarity to Gatsby, Fitzgerald came from an unsuccessful middle class

First of all, hoping to become successful, Nick Carraway moves to east and rents a
house, but rather a bungalow in West Egg to have more opportunity to hit his
target, to make fortune. It can be said that Nick can personalize perfectly with his
character the American Dream. He is well educated and lives among the riches but
this does not mean that he is one of them. He is poor but with prospects he tries his
luck and he hopes that with puritan work ethic and diligence he can be successful.
As he gets acquainted with the wealthy people around him in East Egg and West
Egg too, he slowly realizes that he does not belong to that superficial community
and as a reaction for the disappointment he leaves that place. In addition, there is a
similarity in between the characterization of Nick and the personal life of
Fitzgerald. It can be said that Nick partly has the personality of the writer, both of
them come from a poor family and disillusioned from the American Dream. It can
also suggest that this connection is the reason why Nick is the proper person for the
narration; he sees through quickly people around him, he can judge them often hard
and he observes the dark side of American Dream,
Super Power Involvement in the Middle East
The superpowers, namely the USSR and US were in engaged in a war by proxy,
which is very easy to identify if you analyze the conflicts in the Middle East from
1948 until, and including, the Yom Kippur War of 1978. The superpowers would
employ tactics such as supplying their various allies in the Middle East with
weapons and finances which would afford them the ability to engage in the many
conflicts that took place in that period such as the Suez Crisis, Six Day War and the
Yom Kippur War. All of this was done without either superpower s putting their own
men on the ground to fight, for fear of an all out war between each other. However
much the superpowers might have fuelled the conflicts with supplying the Arabs and
Israelis with weapons and finances, they were not the cause for the conflicts as they
are much deeper rooted. Israeland the Arab states have always seen tension as per
their culture and religious differences, and the growing nationalism of the Arab states
and Zionism in Israel, which amounted to extreme actions such as the three major
conflicts during the time period 1956 1978.
Superpower involvement in the Middle East saw its first significant impact in 1956
when the Suez Crisis took place thus giving us the first hints of the war by proxy that
the superpowers were fighting between each other. When President Nasser took over
leadership of Egypt in 1956 he began signing arms deals with Czechoslovakia which
at the time was a puppet state if the USSR.
Persuasive Speech On Roaches
Roaches can be one of the most persistent of all household pests. Getting rid of
them on your own can seem like absolute frustration. If you ve tried, then you
already know how difficult this disease carrying pest can be to get rid of.
While there are store shelves full of do it yourself products, sometimes the only
solution is consulting with a licensed pest control professional. Even the most dutiful
use of over the counter products cannot guarantee a completely roach free home.
Once you ve contacted an expert for assistance in eradicating your roach trouble,
there are some important things you need to do yourself to keep these disease
carrying nuisances away for good. Once you ve had your home cleared of these
uninvited guests, here are three suggestions to help you keep them out.

But, roaches are cold blooded insects, so they are able to actually slow their
metabolic rate down to a level of near starvation. Some reports state that roaches can
go as long as 30 days without any food.
If you kept your food sealed up, your counters clean, but still are experiencing a
roach dilemma, you may also have a water problem. Roaches cannot survive without
some source of water.
A roach can feed on plywood, cardboard, or pressboard if they are the least bit damp.
A negligible drip under your sinks can supply a family of roaches sufficient hydration
to manufacture a colossal infestation.
As odd as it might seem, roaches are also nearly impossible to drown. Roaches can
live in your drainpipes if you have even the smallest clog. Fix leaks, keep your
drains flowing freely, and eliminate as many sources of standing water that you can.
Roaches cannot survive without water, and once your bug professional has treated
your home for them, be helpful and keep be watchful for unnecessary water
Imbalance Of Bullying
Bullying is a problem that is on the rise in society; however, many individuals have a
distorted view of what bullying entails. Usually when someone thinks of bullying,
they assume that it is a standard part of a child s life. This view, on the contrary, is
erroneous. Bullying is actually abnormal behavior, many times, leaving victims with
a dismantled self identity. Since some people do not understand the consequences of
bullying, the actions of the bully often go unnoticed and are perceived as kids being
kids . The issue of bullying goes deeper than that nevertheless. Despite the
erroneous views that many individuals hold towards bullying, it is still a distortion
of normal behavior in children. There are many definitions that adequately define
bullying; however, a simple definition is given by Kas Dekker, Bullying is defined
as a person being repeatedly exposed to negative actions on the part of one or more
other persons and has difficulty defending him or herself. (Dekker, 2013 pg 228) In
this quote, Dekker is describing a power imbalance between the bully and the
victim. In a power imbalance, the bully misuses their skills whether strength, verbal,
gestural, or relational in order to either acquire their yearnings, or put another
individual down. According to Ken Rigby, Verbal bullying is the most common
form of bullying, it involves talking down to a person by either insulting them or
cruel sarcasm. (Rigby, 2003 pg 10) In this form of bullying, the bully is

The parallel continues in regards to the presentation of evidence. In modern child
abuse cases, authorities historically tended to believe what children said because
they did not want to believe that they could make up such harsh accusations.
However, this blind faith in a child s testimony has recently been challenged as
children have been increasingly educated on the warning signs of abuse and are,
therefore, more capable of making fake accusations. Much the same, the authorities
in Salem did not want to believe the girls could make up such severe claims of
witchcraft, even though they had been increasingly made aware of the folklore and,
therefore, able to fake the symptoms. It has also been noted that the girls supposed
fits, if not truly choreographed and acted out, could have been the result of asthma or
even epilepsy. Asthma can be caused by stress, changes in room temperature, or the
presence of mold. However, attacks can also occur randomly without warning.
Therefore, when they do occur, it will look as though the person experiencing the
attack is in critical condition. It has been concluded that, If asthma played a part, it is
not surprising that the girls attacks of choking were common indoors, in damp and
moldy houses, and in the evening, when fires were stoked, rooms became smoky, and
temperatures increased. Furthermore, asthma is most

The Science Of A Memory
Memory is something that is essential to our daily lives. Creating and retrieving
memories is something that happens without us knowing; subconscious
remembrance of events allows us to remember our friend s name, a favorite baseball
or football team, or what city we live in without needing to ask others or consult the
internet. Even if we were to ask others a question about something, without memory
we would forget the answer to the question we had asked immediately after they
had told us, which would be quite a confusing and annoying situation for both
parties involved. Without memory, we would have no concept of what is the past
and what is the future, which would lead to a very different perception of reality
than what we are used to. It should be noted; however, that there is a definite
science for memory. As previously mentioned, memories can be encoded
subconsciously (without our awareness), and also consciously. This paper will focus
on the science of increasing the effectiveness of conscious memory, that is, memory
that we intentionally try to encode into our minds with the purpose of a later
retrieval. The main idea from Chapter 6 Tips from the Science of Memory for
Studying and for Life is that people at the individual level need to optimize
memorization techniques that best work for themselves. According to the textbook,
the most effective way to memorize, regardless of memory model, is by thinking
deeply about the material of life and connecting the
Changes And Effects Of The Hundred Years War
The Hundred Years War is the seventh longest war in history lasting one hundred
and sixteen years in which there were 3.5 million deaths. The Hundred Years War
was between France and England from 1337 to 1453 over the succession to the
French throne. When Charles IV of France died without sons in 1328, his closest
male relative was King Edward III of England. Isabella of France claimed the French
throne for her son, but the French rejected it. Philip of Valois, first cousin of Charles
IV, succeeded the throne as King Philip VI of France. For about nine years the English
had accepted the Valois succession to the French throne but finally they rejected it

There were many different weapons, some old behind established and some new
and created by the kingdoms. The creation of the longbow changed the course of
the war, giving a distinct advantage to the English. This weapon was utilized to its
full potential because it changed the feudal armies to small archery based troops.
There were also developments of other weapons that the English and French did
not create but used the weapons for the first time in the location. The effect
changed the way they traded and with whom they traded. New places began to
trade with France and England so they were exposed to different cultures and
societies. France and England took these new weapons and made advancements to
them like adding a spear to the end of the gun or creating stronger bullets.21 New
believes began to develop throughout France and England including the belief of
nationalism throughout the society. This new belief changed society drastically and
made for a strong and powerful monarch in both France and England. Because of
these new believes army sizes grew which in turn caused more deaths but also
increased manpower for the king. These believes solved the crisis because the king
needed troops and the commoners needed money. It also caused France and England
to believe that their country was superior to all others and therefore more powerful

Age Specific Reproduction
The effects of age specific breeding and matriarch presence on elephant reproduction
Introduction
Although Robinson et al. was not able to determine the overall the long term effects
of early life reproduction, they provided results that show the immediate effects of
age specific reproduction. The impact of reproduction on younger females is an
important part of elephant survival, however, it is the impact of reproduction over
time that provides understanding of the future of elephant populations. In order to
show the later life effects of reproduction, Hayward et al. studied the survival of
calves and annual breeding success of elephants throughout their lives and into their

being 5 years of age and the oldest being 53. The mean age at the first birth of
offspring was 19.48 years with the maximum number of lifetime calves being 10
calves. Hayward et al. discovered that individuals who didn t produce calves
before the age of 19 had lower calf survival than those who produced one or more
calves before the age of 19. Although beginning reproduction earlier in life is
correlated with a shorter lifespan, the cost is outweighed with higher annual
breeding success as well as increased calf survival (Hayward et al). The investment
of energy and resources into breeding at an early age increases the chance of calf
survival but also results in shorter lifespans compared to those who begin
reproduction later in life (Hayward et al.). Based on the findings, the costs of early
life reproduction are offset by higher lifetime breeding success in younger elephants.
The breeding success of younger elephants can be attributed not only to early
reproduction, but also to older females in a herd. While Hayward et al. observes the

Why Is Nelson So Important To Me Essay
My husband and I have done well enough financially that I now devoting my attention
on ways we can improve the world by educating, inspiring, and bringing people
together.
As a student in middle and high school, I was fortunate to have a father who
enjoyed pondering interesting math problems at least as much as I did. When I got
stuck, he sometimes asked me a question or offered me a hint that helped me to
figure out how to solve a problem.
I didn t enjoy the competitive atmosphere and time constraints of most math contests,
but was intrigued and inspired by the qualifying problems of the yearly math contest
sponsored by Saint Mary s College in Moraga, CA. About 10 years ago, I searched
for the Contest and found that it no longer existed, ... Show more content on

By doing physical therapy with me every night (except on my birthday) for 12
years to strengthen my right leg and right arm (affected by cerebral palsy), Nelson
made me realize the benefits of hard work and perseverance. There was no need for
him to say the words I love you. He showed me how much he cared for me in much
more endearing ways.
Donald Knuth
Donald Knuth s Concrete Mathematics was my favorite course ever because, unlike
most other my classes in which I just applied what I was taught, in that class I learned
through trial, effort, errors, and eventually discovery.
I continue to see Donald Knuth several times a year and he is always friendly to me.
Herb Wilf
I enjoyed the problems in Concrete Mathematics so much, that I requested to be the
teaching assistant for the class the following year. Though Donald Knuth had taught
the class for years, the following year it was taught by Herb Wilf, who was on

Jean Marc Bosm Football Player For Belgian League Team
The Bosman Ruling
The ease and freedom with which clubs transfer players between one another today
would not have been possible without the Bosman Ruling.
Jean Marc Bosman was a football player for Belgian leagues team R.F.C de Liege,
where he had a contract until June 30th, 1990. When R.F.C. de Liege offered
Bosman a new contract with a 75 percent salary reduction, Bosman declined the offer
and was automatically placed on the transfer list for the club. A second division team
in France, USL Dunkerque, expressed interest in signing the player and both teams
negotiated the transfer. USL Dunkerque agreed to pay 1,200,000 Belgian Francs for
the first season and 4,800,000 Belgian Francs if they ended up acquiring the player

1293). Bosman also took legal action against UEFA, the European Football
Association, to the European Court of Justice in an attempt to invalidate UEFA s
gentlemen s agreement . The gentlemen s agreement, also known as the 3 plus 2
rule, allowed domestic leagues to set their own maximum number of foreign
players that a particular club could have. The 3 plus 2 rule states that only three
foreign players and two foreign players who had been in the country for more than
five years could play on the field at the same time for a club in domestic matches.
In April 1992, the Belgian Court of Justice declared no legal consequences for the
suit, so Bosman decided to drop the charges against his club and the Belgian league
in order to develop a new claim against UEFA. In his new claim, he stated that the 3
plus 2 rule and European transfer system breached the Articles 48, 85 and 86 of
the Treaty of Rome, and they should be considered null and voided. (Lee, 1995) On
December 15th, 1995 the European Court of Justice finally reached a verdict and
the transfer market in European football was changed forever. According to Case C
415/93, The European Court of Justice ruled that it was illegal for clubs to stop
players from moving clubs once their contracts have expired. The European Court of
Justice also banned the restrictions that a club could have on the number of players
that belong to the European Union. Before the rule was established, clubs had the
Thesis About Snow Treasure
Have you ever thought about your country having a war with other country??
Snow Treasure by Marie McSwigan is a sad and memorable story of children
carrying gold in Norway(Norway is their country) and adults fighting with
Germans. This story is important to people who think war is nothing. Because in
this story, they show how they are having a hard time during the war. I really
admire character Jan Lasek, who is a Pole but he was once German solider. Then you
ll ask me why. Because he risked his life to save Peter from German army.
This story takes place in Norway during a war with Germans. The protagonist is
Peter, a brave young boy about ten years old. He leads children to carry a gold in
Norway to Uncle Victor, because Uncle Victor should... Show more content on

It s important because it shows how much hard time they are having during the
war and it teaches you how people get hurt by war. In the war between Norway and
German, children always have to pull gold on the sled because Germans can take
them. They carry more than 100kg. It will be really hard. And by hurting, sure it
can be like shooting gun hurting, but if our heart hurts, it really hurts. Like with
war, when people pass away, think about it. How will their family feel?? Really,
really sad. So I think like war, we shouldn t make it happen.
I was able to identify with Peter who was afraid at first to be the leader but later on
he did a great job. I strongly recommend this book because it is touching and it
shows how children has done a great job, with very responsible actions. I was very
moved with Jan Lasek because even if he can die, he risked his life for Peter. How
touching and amazing is that?? I think I can t have done it. I was inspired with
Uncle Victor s idea. If children is around, who would think they are carrying a
gold?? It was a great idea. It taught me that if we really want something, they risk
their lifes to. Like for example, if my mother is sick, than I ll do anything to fix it.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine system disorder, also a
hormonal condition in which the ovaries are enlarged with very small cysts on the
outer edges. The hormonal imbalance creates problems in the ovaries. The ovaries
make the egg that is released each month as part of a healthy menstrual cycle. With
PCOS, the egg may not develop as it should or it may not be released during
ovulation as it should be. The enlarged ovaries may be filled with small collections
of fluid called follicles that can be detected through a thorough ultrasound. PCOS
causes a woman s hormones to be out of balance. It can also cause problems with a
woman s monthly period and it can even contribute to the difficulty for a woman to
get pregnant. Knowing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of these can worsen with obesity. Every woman with PCOS may be affected a
little differently. To be diagnosed with PCOS a woman s doctor looks for at least
two of the following conditions; irregular periods, excess androgen, or polycystic
ovaries. Polycystic ovary syndrome signs and symptoms often start soon after a
woman first begins having periods. In some cases, PCOS develops later during the
reproductive years. Symptoms of PCOS start gradually over time. Symptoms can
include several menstrual problems. These can include few or no menstrual periods
or heavy, irregular bleeding. Hair loss from the scalp and hair growth on the face,
chest, back, stomach, thumbs, or toes. Acne and oily skin. Fertility problems, such as
not releasing an egg or repeat miscarriages. Insulin resistance and too much insulin,
which can cause things like upper body obesity and skin tags. Depression or mood
swings. Breathing problems while sleeping. Polycystic ovary syndrome treatment
focuses on management of woman s main concerns such as infertility, hirsutism, acne
or obesity. Most treatments are medicines prescribed by a woman s doctor. To
regulate a menstrual cycle, a doctor may recommend combination birth control pills,
pills that contain both estrogen and progestin. These birth control pills decrease
androgen production and give your body a break from the effects of continuous
estrogen, lowering your risk of endometrial

purpose for the communication at Kudler Fine Foods is to train cashiers on how to
use the new NCR cash registers. At a minimum the communication need is for
instructions and hands on practice using the new cash register. Written instructions
and training manuals are good reference materials to compliment hands on training. A
written report is not an instructional tool, therefore; a written report would not
adequately serve the purpose for training the cashiers to use the new cash registers.
Video
Video presentations will be presented from the vendor of the NCR RealPOS 30
terminals. The video presentations will examine the use of the terminals and
separate video presentations should be available for the cashiers, the management
team, and the computer support specialists. The video presentations should cover
hands on use of the terminals depending on the employee and the employees need.
The cost of the video presentations should be minor as they should be available from
the vendor. The purpose of the video presentations will be hands on use so that each
employee gains a clear understanding of the terminal. The video presentations should
be viewed prior to the oral presentations to expedite the oral presentations. The

Lysander And Hermia In A Midsummer Night s Dream By...
In the play, A Midsummer Night s Dream, by William Shakespeare introduces us
two couples that are arguing for each other. The love between Lysander and Hermia
is one that can never be broken, but there is always one person that wants to ruin
everything. Hermia truly loves Lysander; she is willing to do anything for them to be
together. They are both loyal to each other but the father does not agree with his
daughter. Egeus is the father of Hermia, who does not give Lysander his permission
to marry his daughter. Egeus wants someone from the same class to marry her
daughter. Someone that is wealthy like they are. Demetrius is his first choice for
his daughter because he is wealthy and rich but so is Lysander. Demetrius also
agrees because he loves Hermia also. He wants to marry Hermia because Hermia s
father wants him to marry her. Shakespeare was an English poet writer during his
time period 1564 1616 (Lee 8, 272). The poet William, the first son and third child,

Athletic Coaches Research Paper
If a group of students were asked who the biggest influence in their life was, many
would say some kind of coach. The general thought that comes to mind when
discussing coaching is athletic coaches, but coaching has a much broader spectrum.
The major difference between a coach and other leaders is commitment. Coaches
help build plans for success for their followers and then follow their progress until
the goal is completed. In my life, I use coachingoften with my younger siblings and
still receive coaching from my older brothers. It is important to me to check in with
my little brother about school, sports, and his goals. Having gone through it before, I
can offer advice and suggestions and hopefully help him to achieve his goals. In

Therefore, Beerhopper has the ability to change not only change the way people

Puerto Rican Culture
The term Hispanic refers to people who are capable of speaking and comprehending
the Spanish language, and whose ancestry identifies with the Hispanic culture. The
three main Hispanic groups in the United States are Cubans, Mexicans, and Puerto
Ricans. Puerto Ricans are people who identify themselves as Hispanics of Puerto
Rican origin, meaning they were either born in Puerto Rico, or have familyancestry
that traces back to Puerto Rico. According to Lopez Patten (2015), in 2013, Puerto
Ricans were the second largest Hispanic origin population living in the United States,
accounting for 9.5%. This population continues to grow. In fact, between 1980 and
2013, the Puerto Rican population in the United States had increased by 56% (Lopez
Patten, 2015). Puerto Rican culture is unique, and quite complex. To gain knowledge
and a better understanding of the Puerto Rican culture, I attended the Puerto Rican
Festival held in Milwaukee, and conducted an interview with Melinda Nieves, a
Puerto Rican woman living in Appleton. Through these experiences, I found that
Puerto Rican culture is centered around language, family, and religion, as well as
music and delicious food.
Language in the Puerto Rican Culture One of the first things I noticed while
attending the Puerto Rican Festival was the language differences (2017). Most
people spoke Spanish, and Spanish seemed to be their preferred language over
English. At the festival, it was difficult to communicate. People carried
The Behavioral, Humanistic, And Cognitive Approach
There are a few different approaches to how psychologists view things. These include
but are not limited to, the behavioral, humanistic, and cognitive approaches. Each
approach treats things differently. These different approaches stem from
psychologists who didn t think each other was right and so they each came up with
their own way of viewing things. None of these approaches are wrong, but they just
differ from one another. Jake was diagnosed with an anxietydisorder, but these three
approaches have different views on the origins and the treatment of his anxiety.
The first of these approaches is the behavioral approach. Behaviorists tend to focus
on the things we can actually see, the physical side of things, and follow classical
and operant conditioning. In Jakes case, the psychologists would say that Jake s
anxiety stems from the environment around him directly. Jakes anxiety would be
coming directly from his college classes. The fact that they are stress inducing
proves this to the behavioral perspective. The UCS would be the classes or, harder
work, the UCR would be the anxiety, and then when paired together the conditioned
stimulus is the classes and the conditioned response is the anxiety. As far as treatment
goes, from a behavioral perspective negative and positive reinforcement would ...

Humanists tend to relate everything back to the patient, and to unlock or show
them their full potential, because they believe everyone has that untapped
potential. They would try to help Jake mature in his emotions and be the best he
could be. They would push Jake to come to face with whatever his stressor is, be
then exposed more so to it, so that he wouldn t be so stressed out by it all the time.
They might try to get Jake to realize and unlock a potential he didn t know he had, a
potential that enabled him to complete these harder classes with

Implementing The Myfloridamarketplace ( Mfmp )

Prior to implementing the MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) program, the State of
Florida did not have an enterprise wide electronic procurement to payment system.
The deployment of MFMP enabled a centralized source for procurement activates,
automating the state s requisition, purchase order, invoicing, and payment approval
process, making the procurementcycle more cost effective and time efficient than the
formally utilized paper based system. With a state as large and diverse as Florida, the
MFMP team recognized the unique needs of each agency and developed the ability
for agencies to customize approval flows while adhering to statewide standards. The
key differentiators of the MFMP program are the flexibility provided via
customizable agency approval flows, a centrally managed update process, and a
streamlined system change request process.
Customized Approval Flows
All 32 State of Florida agencies have standard approval flows that they may
customize as needed. (MFMP interagency standard requisition approval flows are
discussed in Appendix A). State of Florida agencies have the ability to create and
customize their approval flows for either the entire agency or delineate by
department or location through the creation of Purchase Unit Identifiers (PUI). PUIs
enable agencies to easily establish budgets, track spend, and search for orders.
Purchasing Unit Identifiers are added and updated in MFMP through a standardized
monthly process managed by the MFMP Customer Support Desk.
The Conflict And Conflict Management Strategies
Robbins and Judge define conflict as a process that begins when one party perceives
another party has or is about to negatively affect something that is cared about. There
is a variety of conflicts that individuals will encounter within their lives. Knowing and
understating the conflict cycle and understanding conflictmanagement strategies will
help individuals solve conflict in a reasonable manner (Robbins Judge, 2014).
Discussing Contentious Issues/ Bringing Conflict into the Open When managers
are faced with discussing contentious issues or having to bring up conflict within
their organizations, there are several steps that they can take to ensure that all goes
smoothly. A process should be put in place that ensures that all individuals feel safe
when bringing up ideas and thoughts. Managers must prepare and plan for what
might come their way. Goals and objectives of the discussion must be clear to all
involved. Goals should be put in writing and a range of potential outcomes should be
shared (Robbins Judge, 2014, p. 315 316). Next ground rules should be established.
Grounds rules are a list of expected behaviors that individuals must portray during a
discussion/meeting. The following are a list of ground rules that could be helpful
when discussing contentious issues.
Don t interrupt
Give everyone equal time to speak
No outside interruptions (cell phones, etc.)
Be respectful of other people s opinions
Address the issue, don t attack the
Iron Deficiency Anemia From Poor Dietary Intake And Or...

approximately 50% of global anemia. The relationship between HIV and anemia is

Guidelines on Nutrition and HIV/AIDS, 2007). Persons with HIV who are anemic

/AIDS
The relationship between nutrition and HIV/AIDS is best understood by considering
the effect of the disease on body size and composition and the immune system. Body
size and composition are used as indicators of protein energy status, and are
commonly expressed in terms of body weight and height (Piwoz and Preble, 2000).
Wasting syndrome found in adult patients in Africa is the severe nutritional
manifestation of the disease. Wasting is usually precede by changes in appetite,
repeated infections, weight fluctuations and subtler changes in body composition,
such as changes in lean body mass and body cell mass (Babameto and Kotler, 1997).
Weight loss and wasting in PLWHA develop as a result of three overlapping
processes (Piwoz and Preble, 2000):
a)Reductions in food intake
This may be due to painful sores in the mouth, pharynx, and/or esophagus. Fatigue,
depression, changes in mental state, and other psychosocial factors may also play a
role by affecting appetite and interest in food. Economic factors affect food
availability and the nutritional quality of the diet. Side
Application Treatment Options For Diseases
Available treatment options for diseases are limited by our knowledge. At the local
hospice center, where I volunteered 2 years, these limitations were evident. The
majority of my clients were disadvantaged due to a lack of treatment options. The
limitations I saw firsthand instigated my pursual of research to explore an in depth
relationship between disease and host.
My interest in host pathogen interactions started when I found a strong relationship
between my Microbiology and Human Physiology courses the fall of 2013. For
example, while I was learning about the bacteria Clostridium botulinum in
Microbiology, I was also learning about the nervous system in Human Physiology. In
Microbiology we learned that Clostridium botulinum releases neurotoxins that
interfere with neuron signaling, leading to muscle paralysis. The course did not go
into depth about how the neurotoxins cause paralysis, but I was able to piece
together how it would affect the nervous system through what I learned about
neuronal signaling in Human Physiology. These classes prompted me to enroll in
the Microbiology Laboratory course where I worked with my peers to plan and
execute an experiment of our combined interests the effects of varying glucose levels
on oral microbes. These classes and Microbiology Lab allowed me the opportunity to
explore my interest in the microbe host relationship and galvanized my curiosity to
host defense mechanisms.
In the winter of 2014, I decided to advance my knowledge of
The Power Of Knowledge And Environment In Rachel
Carson s...
Rachel Carson s book, Silent Spring, challenged the reader s perspective between
the chemicals we use and its effects on nature. She explains that our world needs
balance and pesticides greatly affect that balance. Throughout this book Rachel
Carson s main theme was to explain the importance of life, its effect on the
environment, and how the human population can help preserve life with the power
of knowledge and action. With all of the knowledge we have now, she instills in the
reader that we must come together in order to save the environment because in the
end, we re dealing with life.
Rachel Carson also mentions that we are not aware of all of the life that is around
us. She states that we are unaware of the protection afforded by natural enemies until
it fails (Carson 249). This lack of awareness by the human population was discussed
many times throughout lectures in the course of Ecology, specifically evolution.
According to John Miller of Michigan State University, only 28% of Americans are
scientifically literate (Miller). This correlates with the fact that many Americans are
not fully aware of the process of evolution. There are many misconceptions
regarding evolution. Some don t believe in macroevolution. Some believe we were
created by God. Some people even claim that we have evolved from monkeys.
Because of this lack of understanding regarding evolution, there is a major disconnect
between man and its ability to care for nature. This topic regarding the lack

Man traverses it through forests of symbols

eg. A certain word produces a sensation of colour, or they can be bi directional, eg.
Not only is the latter true but also a colour can produce the sensation of sound. Some
examples of two sensory synaesthesia are:
Coloured Hearing where sound evokes a sensation of colour. It has been recorded
that an opera is like experiencing a painting. Sometimes each musical instrument has
its own colour. An example of bi directional in this type of synaesthesia would be
where the changing of a traffic light evoked a bell like sound.
Coloured Olfaction where smell evokes the sensation of colour. For example the
smell of garlic may be perceived as a blaze of orange.
Coloured Gustation where taste evokes the perception of colour.
Something salty may be experienced as red, something sweet as bluish/purple. Tactile
Gustation where the taste of something is experienced as shape. Grapefruit may be a

Milton Friedman Vs. Monetarism

Milton Friedman and Monetarism
In politics, our nation is divided into many different parties. Each party has their
own stance on how things ought to be and what changes need to be made in order to
have society function they way they d like. Macroeconomics also can be viewed as
divided. Instead of being divided into parties, economists are separated by different
schools of thought. There s many schools of thought because macroeconomics is
such a complex matter. When there s problems in the economy answers can be found
in a plethora of places, because there s so many moving parts. These moving parts of
the economy are what economists use to make sense of everything. When people
view some parts more important than others or find different solutions, different
schools of thought become apparent. One of these schools of thought come from the
writings of economists Anna Schwartz, Karl Brunner, Allan Meltzer, and most
notably Milton Friedman. The school of thought became known as Monetarism,
which focused on the macroeconomic effect of a nation s money supply and its
central banking institution (Mccallum). We will be focusing on Friedman and the
contributions he made to monetarism, which includes his quantity theory of money.
Milton Friedman was the Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago for
thirty years up until 1976. He is credited for the formulation of the Monetarism school

room, there were seven black leather chairs each for a specific Justice.
Sasha mentioned, Those chairs are where the judges sit, and they sit in a specific
order determined by the position they are in. The lower your position, the further you
sit away from the Chief Justice.
There s a red backdrop behind the chairs, do you know if there s something behind
it, or the significance of it being there I asked.
Well, first of all, there s a door behind it from which the judges come and go
through, and secondly, the vibrant Red backdrop was placed there to complement
the Black Leather chairs and the Black robes the judges wear. This makes it easier to
differentiate the judges and the backdrop She replied.
We never got to check behind the backdrop and we were asked to leave the
building because of an emergency that occurred in the building. We were all
rushed out of the building as if there was a fire wildly spreading. All you could ever
hear were people screaming and running in every direction you could possibly turn. I
had no idea if there was a
The Ant of the Self
The Ant of the Self
Most seventh graders know the principle that oil and water don t mix. No matter
how much the solution is shaken or stirred, the water will settle to the bottom and the
oil will rise above to the surface. These attributes describing water and oil directly
describe the relationship between Spurgeon and Ray, the two main characters in ZZ
Packer s The Ant of the Self. Spurgeon, the water and intelligent son of Ray Bivens
Jr., finds himself carrying the burden of supporting his self centered, inappreciative
father, the oil, on his shoulders. Oblivious to his son s needs as well as others in the
story, Ray tramples over the true meaning of an intimate relationship and worsens or
even crumbles his existing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He leaves Spurgeon with a few birds to sell as he walks off with some to sell
because he knows that [They ll] cover more area if [they re] split up (77). Not
hurting anyone directly, Ray misuses the meaning of the March. This gathering
unites African American men so that they can rise together to show their
brotherhood and from then on work together to appreciate what they have and make
the world a better place to live in. Ray sees this march as his opportunity to make
quick cash. Not appreciative of the unity of the black man, Ray wants only monetary
gains. Once again Ray s not concerned with the world around him. Evaluating the
story at the end, I feel that subconsciously Spurgeon sacrifices his time in hopes to
catch a moment with his father that will prove to him that he really cares. For the
longest time, Spurgeon would use his debates as a way of avoiding his father,
however, this time he doesn t attend to be with his father. Spurgeon s hopes are
crushed as he realizes that he will never have a meaningful relationship. Spurgeon
isn t given any thanks for his father s bail, left alone during the march to sell birds,
physically fighting with his drunk and belligerent father and left alone to find a bus
ride home. At the bus station, Spurgeon sees a father and son enjoying their time
together and becomes jealous of what they have. Spurgeon has В…the urge to

Willie Loman
In novels or plays, many tragic heroes act as a conduit that leads suffering to the
people who surround them. In Death of a Salesman, we see how the main character,
Willie Loman, brings affliction to his family through his actions thus, applying a
desolate edge and making the entire play tragic as a whole.
Willie is a character who has a family that consists of his wife, Linda, and two sons,
named Happy and Biff respectively. Throughout the play, the reader can
acknowledge how the main character constantly brings his family down. One
example is how adamant he is on achieving what he perceives to be the American
Dream. His persistence only seems to cause anguish to Linda, Happy, and Biff,
though his heart is in the right place. He wants
Starbucks s Mission Statement Of Starbucks
Starbucks All around the globe people have either purchased a coffee or have heard
of the coffee chain Starbucks. As the #1 coffee house chain in the world, with just
over 19,700 stores, Starbucks has managed to stay at the top of their game with
reinventing themselves and how they do business. Whether that is due to the change
in leadership, structure or cultural change, this chain has surpassed the market place
by overpowering the second place Dunkin Donuts by almost 8,000 stores worldwide.
Nothing seems to slow down this powerhouse and they have the numbers to prove
just that. The company has spent decades growing only the best for their franchise.
Starbucks has included Our mission: to inspire and nurture the human spirit one
person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time (Jurevivius, Mission Statement of
Starbucks ). How is it that one chain can take the world by storm? Within every
company, there is always a need for a multitude of structures such as organization and
control. Without defining how the company will run and who will run each portion,
this global giant could crash. The structures contain everyone within Starbucks from
the individual branch employees and supervisors to the presidents and CEO. Each
team member has an important role and should take that role with respect and
passion. Each structure set forth determines the modes in which Starbucks will
operate and perform. Like any other chain, Starbucks has placed an organizational
Was Andrew Carnegie A Hero Or Villain
Hero or Villain A lot of people may wonder who Andrew Carnegie was as a person.
They may have also wondered if he was a hero or not. In some people s opinion
Andrew Carnegie was not a hero because he did not have the characteristics of a
hero. He was an American industrialist who amassed a fortune in the steel industry.
Then became a major philanthropist, he worked in a Pittsburgh cotton factory as a
boy before rising to the position of division superintendent of the Pennsylvania
Railroad in 1859. Was Andrew Carnegie really a hero ? The definition of hero is a
personwho is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble
qualities. Andrew Carnegie may have been a hero for the achievements he made, but
in other words... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second area in which Andrew Carnegie was not a hero was Money because he
wanted to keep all his money to himself and not share with his workers.
Furthermore, he was a person who was two faced because on one side he didn t
share his money and in the other he paid people to build libraries. Document 7
affirmed that he didn t pay his workers the minimum wage they deserved for their
work. It affirmed that the steel company was the lowest at just paying his workers
a $1.40 per, which is about 40 cents below the highest paid amount. Straightway
this document exposed how Carnegie was not a hero just because he refused to
pay his workers what they deserved. Likewise, Document 10 viewed him as a non
hero because the picture displayed him as a person who was two faced and one
side he was reducing pay for his workers and the other side is giving away money
and building libraries for other people. Right this evidence helps explain why
Andrew Carnegie was not a hero because a hero would not be two faced and would
sacrifice the earnings they made and give it away to a good cause. Rather than
keeping the money to themselves, for themselves. The final area in which Andrew
Carnegie was not a hero was Work Conditions because there was terrible work
conditions for the workers
Things Fall Apart Igbo Wedding Ceremony
A wedding ceremony in Igbo culture is not just about the bride and the groom. It is
about two families being joined by the marriage of two people. In Igboland, marriage
and burial are two of the most important family events in the Igbo culture. In the
novel, Things Fall Apart, the author Chinua Achebe shows the long process of the
marriageceremony and how important it is to the Igbo peopleand their culture. An
Igbo funeral is not necessarily meant to be sad and depressing. It is meant to be a
celebration showing the importance of the lost one s life. In the novel, Chinua Achebe
shows how various ceremonies such as weddings and funerals shows the true honesty
of someone, shows how responsible someone can be, and honor the ones who... Show

A wedding in the Igbo culture is not just about the husband and wife but also about
the two families and confessing everything they have ever done. Before the
wedding, the families have many traditions that are carried out. In the novel, one
thing that the families do, is have the bride sit in the middle of a circle and ask her
questions about her life. Njide, Uchendu s oldest daughter asks her sister s groom
the questions and says, Remember that if you do not answer truthfully you will
suffer or even die at childbirth (Achebe 132). This shows that in the Igbo culture,
honesty plays a major role in the marriage. According to the Igbo people, if you do
not tell the truth when they ask you a question, you will suffer greatly or even die
while giving birth. Showing honesty is not just about telling the truth. The Igbo
people can also show honesty by, when the groom and his father explain the reason
for their visit, the bride s father asks her if she knows her groom and her
confirmation shows she accepts the marriage proposal (Michael Widjaja). When the
bride accepts the marriage proposal, she is showing her honesty to her father by her
accepting who her groom really
The Importance Of College In Your Daily Life
College is very beneficial to your daily life.
College can be very beneficial to your everyday life for example College degree
holders earned $58,500 dollars a year, while diploma holders earned $23,900.
In my opinion I think that college is pretty much worth the money because college
helps you on make that money you used on it back.College also helps on getting better
jobs you can enjoy so that you can make money doing something you love.
For example In its most recent survey, the National Association of Colleges and
Employers found that for 10 broad degree categories ranging from engineering to
communications, 2016 graduates are projected to have an average salary of
$50,556. That s up 5% from 2014, when new grads earned an average of $48,127.
In my perspective I believe that you make a lot more money in college than you do
than a high school grad.Because high school grads earn an average hourly wage of
$10.89 and a annual income of $22,700 for a full time, full year worker.and finally
I believe that College is very beneficial to your daily life by helping you with
money problems. Is college really worth the time you put in it.is it worth it They
say many successful people never graduated from college and that many jobs,
especially trades jobs, do not require college degrees.leading me to believe that
college might not be worth the time and effort that will lead me to a better future.for
example just look at bill gates he never went to college and got his degree and look
Bitcoin And Its Effect On The Success
I chose this question because of its potential in having a huge impact on the success
or failure of Bitcoin in the near future. As mails have evolved to electronic mail, the
world is slowly molding into a world of technology, currency along with it. Bitcoin is
an innovative concept to modernizing currency, yet, like many digitalized technology,
it also opens many doors to hackers. 1.2 What is Bitcoin?
Bitcoin uses a decentralized, peer to peer payment system technology to operate with
no middle man or banks. Thus, the management of transactions and issuing of
Bitcoins is the responsibility of the whole network, collectively. Bitcoin is a
cryptocurrency based on open source software. Also known as virtual currency or
electronic money, this cryptocurrency used cryptography to control its creation and
transfer (Nakamoto). Bitcoins can be used to buy merchandise anonymously and
makes international payments easier and cheaper since the bitcoin is not tied to any
government or any rule and regulation.
Since there is no intrinsic value to the Bitcoin, vast amounts of research has gone
into the security of its protocol. The original focus of attacks were known as History
Revision attacks, a concept conceived in the creation of Bitcoin. Yet, research has
revealed its infeasibility; it can be shown that, mathematically, the probability that a
dishonest or fake chain is longer than an honest one grows exponentially smaller each
time a block is added (Skogsberg). Though it

Exposotory Essay

  • 1. Exposotory Essay Writing an expository essay can be a challenging task, requiring a careful balance of research, analysis, and effective communication. The difficulty lies not only in presenting factual information but also in crafting a coherent and engaging narrative that effectively conveys the chosen topic. One of the challenges is the need for thorough research to ensure the accuracy of the information presented. This involves delving into credible sources, extracting relevant data, and organizing it in a way that logically supports the central theme of the essay. The writer must also possess a strong analytical skillset to evaluate the information critically and present a well-rounded perspective. Moreover, maintaining clarity and coherence throughout the essay can be daunting. The writer must ensure that each paragraph flows seamlessly into the next, providing a logical progression of ideas. This requires a keen understanding of structure and organization to prevent the essay from becoming disjointed or confusing for the reader. Another aspect that adds to the complexity is the requirement to maintain an objective tone. Expository essays are meant to present information without personal bias, making it crucial for the writer to separate their opinions from the facts. Striking the right balance between providing insightful analysis and remaining impartial can be a delicate task. In conclusion, crafting an expository essay demands a combination of research, analytical skills, and effective communication. The writer must navigate through a plethora of information, maintain clarity in presentation, and uphold an objective stance. While challenging, mastering the art of expository writing can lead to a rewarding and enriching experience. • 2. Biomedical Science Personal Statement Science excites and leads to discovery. During high school, I went through a traumatic operation, where I was in my last year doing GCSES and this experience gave me valuable understandings. I went under a CT scanner and diagnosed with a tumour in my stomach, which the doctors had to remove. This was a rare case and with the help of scientific discovery I was able to live. This experience made me appreciate healthcare sciencemuch more. I am in awe of how medical advances have helped shaped the future of some people s lives today. Being in charge of making people s health better, and looking for new cures for diseases has interested me in biomedical science. My wish to help people, and improve their lives originates from my nurturing, caring personality. My interest in biomedical science has been a calculated choice, by considering my life experiences. My dedication and love towards science reflected in my grades for the Access to HE course in combined science. The Access course included biology, chemistry maths, and physics. Biology and chemistry provide analytic learning and knowledge of the human body, preparing me for biomedical science at university. Maths and physics are essential for problem solving, which are essential skills for a career in biomedical science and any healthcare profession. The course also boosted my skills in self improvement and creative thinking. As some of my units within the Access course included coursework and exams I liked being assessed this way. I felt I worked a lot better with this balance of assessment, which the biomedical science degree has. During spare time, I love engaging in good books and documentaries on human anatomy for e.g. (Atlas of human anatomy by Frank H Netter) and microbiology e.g. (Seven wonders of the microbe world) to further my knowledge in this

Roles And Responsibilities Of A Midwife CITY COLLEGE COVENTRY Roles and Responsibilities of a Midwife Chloe Allsop Contents Introduction2 Summary2 Background2 Multi disciplinary Teams4 Codes of Conduct5 Professional Bodies6 Conclusion6 References:7 Introduction This report will evaluate the roles and responsibilities of a midwife. Midwifery encompasses care of women during pregnancy, labour, and the postpartum period, as well as care of the new born. (WHO, 2015) This is a recent definition and clearly points out that a midwife has many roles and responsibilities. The NMC Codes of Conduct will be evaluated with specific emphasis on recent changes within healthcare. These changes took place as a result of the tragedies at Mid Staffordshire Hospital in 2005 2009 and are the outcome of the Francis report in order to improve care given to patients. Summary Since the Mid Staffordshire trust was investigated by Robert Francis in 2009 regarding the lack of care given to the patients; there has been many changes implemented within the NHS to improve the care and safety of the patients. Some of the recent changes include the whistleblowing policy, implementation of the 6 c s and the CQC. These were all put into place to try and stop any further problems similar to the Staffordshire scandal in the future. All nurses and midwives must be registered to Professional body in order to practice which could be the NMC. Another way to ensure the safety and best care for the patients is to
  • 4. Essay about The Privacy of E-Mail The Privacy of E Mail Today the Internet is being used more and more frequently, and the question of e mail privacy is becoming more and more of an issue in society. Many people today, both at work and at home, are using e mail to keep in touch with their friends, family, and their co workers. Sometimes the information that is contained in these messages is private and confidential, neither the sender nor the receiver wish any one else to be privy to what is contained in these messages. What happens if that very private piece of mail is intercepted and read by those whom it is not meant for? For some people it might only be a slight problem, but for others it could cause some serious problems. It also brings up the issue of who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It would be very difficult to prove that someone intercepted a message that was not meant for them and read it. Another problem that comes with this act is that it does not protect the person from having their e mail read by an inside source . An inside source would include, their boss or another member of the company that they are working for, so someone in that position could reasonably read their e mail without having to worry about reprimands form the company. Courts have ruled that e mail sent via an office system is only private if the sender has a reasonable expectation of privacy when they send it. Again this can be pretty vague about what a persons reasonable expectation of privacy for their e mail means. What reasonable expectation means for one person may be very different for another, creating quite a problem in the company about what reasonable expectation is. Many companies now have policies for their employee e mail that states that it is not a good idea for a person to send private e mail through the companies system. It is also a know fact that if the company owns the system that the e mail is being sent through then they have the right to inspect and to read what is being sent. If a person wishes to avoid prying eyes they might wish to have an old fashioned face to face conversation when discussing something that is private. Some people today are

Ayman Al-Zawahiri Influence As of 10SEP2015 Ayman al Zawahiri, who took over as leader of al Qaeda after the death of Osama bin Laden, sent a message accusing the ISIS leader and self proclaimed caliph Abu Bakr al Baghdadi of sedition, and declared all out war against the Islamic State however no sooner than five days after this statement Al Zawahiri extended an olive branch saying that all Muslim s should work together against the common enemy. So to say the least these two organizations have complicated relations at best. This current state of hostility has not always been the case though, at one point though shaky al Qaeda, and ISIS s precursors were allied. To illustrate this I will take us back in time to the origins of ISIS and al Qaeda s relationship in Iraq. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though al Zawahiri declared war upon Isis declaring al Baghdadis caliphate illegitimate also extended an olive branch towards ISIS saying they could work together. This confusing chain of events could be his way of trying to influence what he sees as an undisciplined and misguided organization to drift towards his view of how jihad should be fought, possibly trying to turn ISIS back towards al Qaeda s leadership in the event of Baghdadis death. There is I believe, a certain amount of personal animosity between al Zawahiri and al Baghdadi which prevents them from actively agreeing on what is best for the Muslim world and how that world should be led and because of this makes cooperation between the two groups unlikely at this point. However having said this, the very fact that al Zawahiri is attempting cooperation with ISIS is troubling. He realizes that an alliance preferably under al Qaeda leadership would strengthen his influence for the greater battle against the west. An alliance such as this could be devastating for the west as it could give the platform and funding for the jihadists to launch more frequent larger scale attacks throughout the world and draw more radicalized followers to their cause. This is currently an unlikely situation in my view because ISIS and Al Qaeda are actively competing against each

Once seated, we saw that the stage was mainly bare with a chair on the left hand side of the stage. This suggested to the audience that the play would be non naturalistic unlike, a west end theatre production. This ties in with the beginning of the play, in where the character Jesus shot 17 students. Another important prop used was the black telephone used by Vernon and Taylor. The colours used in the set of Vernon God Little were neutral colours showing the statues and class of the whole community, which contrasted the colours used when Vernon went to Mexico. The colours were bright and vivid fitting with the set making it as realistic as it could be. A momentous moment in the play was when Vernon was about to die. There was a prop used which was representing the cross on where Jesus died. Vernon was strapped on like Jesus and was levitated upwards to the ceiling highly portraying the theme of religion within the play. Costume used in Vernon God Little was mainly symbolic to the audience. The main character Vernon, wore jeans and a plain bright top, which represented his age and his class. Vernon characterisation fitted to a troubled teenager. His movements were quite awkward and he tended to shrug his shoulder and mover his arms around. This could suggest to the audience how Vernon is vulnerable and is just a young child.

Essay about Thoughts on the Color, Blue Thoughts on the Color, Blue During the time when polytheistic religions were widely practiced in Europe, colors represented ideas associated with the paranormal and the spiritual. In many cases, the color blue represented safety and protection. It was believed that if someone wore or carried something blue, the bearer would be protected from evil spirits. Over time, as patriarchal societies formed, the welfare of the male child took priority over the welfare of the female child. Since male children were more important, parents surrounded their sons with blue objects. This explains the common association of males and the color blue that exists even in modern society. A common practice among new families and couples with children on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Strictly speaking, blue is nothing but light that is reflected off the surface of an object and into receivers. These receivers then send electrical impulses to the brain that then interprets the impulses as blue. In that case, what more is color other than the interpretation of electrical signals? Without the stimuli and the receiver, there would be no color. In that case, color is only defined by the measurement of something else. A scientific approach to seeing color reveals a puzzling explanation. An object of any shade of blue contains pigments of that shade. These pigments make the object blue by reflecting the blue light into the eyes. The other colored lights are absorbed into the pigments. So, it is not that the object is blue. It is that it absorbs everything but blue. The color is not the property of the object because it never became part of the object. The object is not blue but the reason one would say it is blue is because the brain interprets it as blue, not everything but blue. Since color is only perceived by the eyes and interpreted by the brain, the question of the existence of color arises. If not for the ability of receptors receiving reflected light, then how else does color exist? Furthermore, if everyone in the world was blind, then would blue still be blue? If the blue is still significant even without proper perception, then there must be some quality

He is poor but with prospects he tries his luck and he hopes that with puritan work ethic and diligence he can be successful. As he gets acquainted with the wealthy people around him in East Egg and West Egg too, he slowly realizes that he does not belong to that superficial community and as a reaction for the disappointment he leaves that place. Super Power Involvement in the Middle East The superpowers, namely the USSR and US were in engaged in a war by proxy, which is very easy to identify if you analyze the conflicts in the Middle East from 1948 until, and including, the Yom Kippur War of 1978. The superpowers would employ tactics such as supplying their various allies in the Middle East with weapons and finances which would afford them the ability to engage in the many conflicts that took place in that period such as the Suez Crisis, Six Day War and the Yom Kippur War. All of this was done without either superpower s putting their own men on the ground to fight, for fear of an all out war between each other. However much the superpowers might have fuelled the conflicts with supplying the Arabs and Israelis with weapons and finances, they were not the cause for the conflicts as they are much deeper rooted. Israeland the Arab states have always seen tension as per their culture and religious differences, and the growing nationalism of the Arab states and Zionism in Israel, which amounted to extreme actions such as the three major conflicts during the time period 1956 1978. Superpower involvement in the Middle East saw its first significant impact in 1956 when the Suez Crisis took place thus giving us the first hints of the war by proxy that the superpowers were fighting between each other. When President Nasser took over leadership of Egypt in 1956 he began signing arms deals with Czechoslovakia which at the time was a puppet state if the USSR.

Usually when someone thinks of bullying, they assume that it is a standard part of a child s life. This view, on the contrary, is erroneous. Bullying is actually abnormal behavior, many times, leaving victims with a dismantled self identity. Since some people do not understand the consequences of bullying, the actions of the bully often go unnoticed and are perceived as kids being kids . The issue of bullying goes deeper than that nevertheless. Despite the erroneous views that many individuals hold towards bullying, it is still a distortion of normal behavior in children. There are many definitions that adequately define bullying; however, a simple definition is given by Kas Dekker, Bullying is defined as a person being repeatedly exposed to negative actions on the part of one or more other persons and has difficulty defending him or herself. (Dekker, 2013 pg 228) In this quote, Dekker is describing a power imbalance between the bully and the victim. In a power imbalance, the bully misuses their skills whether strength, verbal, gestural, or relational in order to either acquire their yearnings, or put another individual down. According to Ken Rigby, Verbal bullying is the most common form of bullying, it involves talking down to a person by either insulting them or cruel sarcasm. In modern child abuse cases, authorities historically tended to believe what children said because they did not want to believe that they could make up such harsh accusations. However, this blind faith in a child s testimony has recently been challenged as children have been increasingly educated on the warning signs of abuse and are, therefore, more capable of making fake accusations. Much the same, the authorities in Salem did not want to believe the girls could make up such severe claims of witchcraft, even though they had been increasingly made aware of the folklore and, therefore, able to fake the symptoms. • 17. The Science Of A Memory Memory is something that is essential to our daily lives. Creating and retrieving memories is something that happens without us knowing; subconscious remembrance of events allows us to remember our friend s name, a favorite baseball or football team, or what city we live in without needing to ask others or consult the internet. Even if we were to ask others a question about something, without memory we would forget the answer to the question we had asked immediately after they had told us, which would be quite a confusing and annoying situation for both parties involved. Without memory, we would have no concept of what is the past and what is the future, which would lead to a very different perception of reality than what we are used to. It should be noted; however, that there is a definite science for memory. As previously mentioned, memories can be encoded subconsciously (without our awareness), and also consciously. This paper will focus on the science of increasing the effectiveness of conscious memory, that is, memory that we intentionally try to encode into our minds with the purpose of a later retrieval. The main idea from Chapter 6 Tips from the Science of Memory for Studying and for Life is that people at the individual level need to optimize memorization techniques that best work for themselves. According to the textbook, the most effective way to memorize, regardless of memory model, is by thinking deeply about the material of life and connecting the

In order to show the later life effects of reproduction, Hayward et al. studied the survival of calves and annual breeding success of elephants throughout their lives and into their older age. Background Elephant populations in the wild are declining ... Hayward et al. also used the Myanmar timber camp Elephas maximus to perform the research, looking at the records of 416 reproductive captive born mothers and their offspring. The elephants used were from 8 regions of the Myanmar timber camps with the youngest breeding being 5 years of age and the oldest being 53. The mean age at the first birth of offspring was 19.48 years with the maximum number of lifetime calves being 10 calves. Hayward et al. discovered that individuals who didn t produce calves before the age of 19 had lower calf survival than those who produced one or more calves before the age of 19. Although beginning reproduction earlier in life is correlated with a shorter lifespan, the cost is outweighed with higher annual breeding success as well as increased calf survival (Hayward et al). The investment of energy and resources into breeding at an early age increases the chance of calf survival but also results in shorter lifespans compared to those who begin reproduction later in life (Hayward et al.). Based on the findings, the costs of early life reproduction are offset by higher lifetime breeding success in younger elephants. The breeding success of younger elephants can be attributed not only to early reproduction, but also to older females in a herd. While Hayward et al. observes the effects of young

Why Is Nelson So Important To Me Essay My husband and I have done well enough financially that I now devoting my attention on ways we can improve the world by educating, inspiring, and bringing people together. As a student in middle and high school, I was fortunate to have a father who enjoyed pondering interesting math problems at least as much as I did. When I got stuck, he sometimes asked me a question or offered me a hint that helped me to figure out how to solve a problem. I didn t enjoy the competitive atmosphere and time constraints of most math contests, but was intrigued and inspired by the qualifying problems of the yearly math contest sponsored by Saint Mary s College in Moraga, CA. Jean Marc Bosman was a football player for Belgian leagues team R.F.C de Liege, where he had a contract until June 30th, 1990. When R.F.C. de Liege offered Bosman a new contract with a 75 percent salary reduction, Bosman declined the offer and was automatically placed on the transfer list for the club. Bosman also took legal action against UEFA, the European Football Association, to the European Court of Justice in an attempt to invalidate UEFA s gentlemen s agreement . The gentlemen s agreement, also known as the 3 plus 2 rule, allowed domestic leagues to set their own maximum number of foreign players that a particular club could have. The 3 plus 2 rule states that only three foreign players and two foreign players who had been in the country for more than five years could play on the field at the same time for a club in domestic matches. In April 1992, the Belgian Court of Justice declared no legal consequences for the suit, so Bosman decided to drop the charges against his club and the Belgian league in order to develop a new claim against UEFA. In his new claim, he stated that the 3 plus 2 rule and European transfer system breached the Articles 48, 85 and 86 of the Treaty of Rome, and they should be considered null and voided. (Lee, 1995) On December 15th, 1995 the European Court of Justice finally reached a verdict and the transfer market in European football was changed forever. This lack of awareness by the human population was discussed many times throughout lectures in the course of Ecology, specifically evolution. • 42. The Ant of the Self The Ant of the Self Most seventh graders know the principle that oil and water don t mix. No matter how much the solution is shaken or stirred, the water will settle to the bottom and the oil will rise above to the surface. These attributes describing water and oil directly describe the relationship between Spurgeon and Ray, the two main characters in ZZ Packer s The Ant of the Self. Spurgeon, the water and intelligent son of Ray Bivens Jr., finds himself carrying the burden of supporting his self centered, inappreciative father, the oil, on his shoulders. Oblivious to his son s needs as well as others in the story, Ray tramples over the true meaning of an intimate relationship and worsens or even crumbles his existing ... Not hurting anyone directly, Ray misuses the meaning of the March. This gathering unites African American men so that they can rise together to show their brotherhood and from then on work together to appreciate what they have and make the world a better place to live in. Ray sees this march as his opportunity to make quick cash. Not appreciative of the unity of the black man, Ray wants only monetary gains. Once again Ray s not concerned with the world around him. Evaluating the story at the end, I feel that subconsciously Spurgeon sacrifices his time in hopes to catch a moment with his father that will prove to him that he really cares. For the longest time, Spurgeon would use his debates as a way of avoiding his father, however, this time he doesn t attend to be with his father. Spurgeon s hopes are crushed as he realizes that he will never have a meaningful relationship. Spurgeon isn t given any thanks for his father s bail, left alone during the march to sell birds, physically fighting with his drunk and belligerent father and left alone to find a bus ride home. At the bus station, Spurgeon sees a father and son enjoying their time together and becomes jealous of what they have. Spurgeon has В…the urge to weepВ… and В… [holds his] head in

In Death of a Salesman, we see how the main character, Willie Loman, brings affliction to his family through his actions thus, applying a desolate edge and making the entire play tragic as a whole. • 44. Starbucks s Mission Statement Of Starbucks Starbucks All around the globe people have either purchased a coffee or have heard of the coffee chain Starbucks. As the #1 coffee house chain in the world, with just over 19,700 stores, Starbucks has managed to stay at the top of their game with reinventing themselves and how they do business. Whether that is due to the change in leadership, structure or cultural change, this chain has surpassed the market place by overpowering the second place Dunkin Donuts by almost 8,000 stores worldwide. Nothing seems to slow down this powerhouse and they have the numbers to prove just that. The company has spent decades growing only the best for their franchise. Starbucks has included Our mission: to inspire and nurture the human spirit one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time (Jurevivius, Mission Statement of Starbucks ). How is it that one chain can take the world by storm? Within every company, there is always a need for a multitude of structures such as organization and control. Without defining how the company will run and who will run each portion, this global giant could crash. The structures contain everyone within Starbucks from the individual branch employees and supervisors to the presidents and CEO. Each team member has an important role and should take that role with respect and passion. Each structure set forth determines the modes in which Starbucks will operate and perform. Like any other chain, Starbucks has placed an organizational
  • 45. Was Andrew Carnegie A Hero Or Villain Hero or Villain A lot of people may wonder who Andrew Carnegie was as a person. They may have also wondered if he was a hero or not. In some people s opinion Andrew Carnegie was not a hero because he did not have the characteristics of a hero. He was an American industrialist who amassed a fortune in the steel industry. Then became a major philanthropist, he worked in a Pittsburgh cotton factory as a boy before rising to the position of division superintendent of the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1859. Was Andrew Carnegie really a hero ? The definition of hero is a personwho is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Andrew Carnegie may have been a hero for the achievements he made, but in other words... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second area in which Andrew Carnegie was not a hero was Money because he wanted to keep all his money to himself and not share with his workers. Furthermore, he was a person who was two faced because on one side he didn t share his money and in the other he paid people to build libraries. Document 7 affirmed that he didn t pay his workers the minimum wage they deserved for their work. It affirmed that the steel company was the lowest at just paying his workers a $1.40 per, which is about 40 cents below the highest paid amount. Straightway this document exposed how Carnegie was not a hero just because he refused to pay his workers what they deserved. Likewise, Document 10 viewed him as a non hero because the picture displayed him as a person who was two faced and one side he was reducing pay for his workers and the other side is giving away money and building libraries for other people. Right this evidence helps explain why Andrew Carnegie was not a hero because a hero would not be two faced and would sacrifice the earnings they made and give it away to a good cause. Rather than keeping the money to themselves, for themselves. The final area in which Andrew Carnegie was not a hero was Work Conditions because there was terrible work conditions for the workers

In Igboland, marriage and burial are two of the most important family events in the Igbo culture. In the novel, Things Fall Apart, the author Chinua Achebe shows the long process of the marriageceremony and how important it is to the Igbo peopleand their culture. An Igbo funeral is not necessarily meant to be sad and depressing. It is meant to be a celebration showing the importance of the lost one s life. In the novel, Chinua Achebe shows how various ceremonies such as weddings and funerals shows the true honesty of someone, shows how responsible someone can be, and honor the ones who... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A wedding in the Igbo culture is not just about the husband and wife but also about the two families and confessing everything they have ever done. Before the wedding, the families have many traditions that are carried out. In the novel, one thing that the families do, is have the bride sit in the middle of a circle and ask her questions about her life. Njide, Uchendu s oldest daughter asks her sister s groom the questions and says, Remember that if you do not answer truthfully you will suffer or even die at childbirth (Achebe 132). This shows that in the Igbo culture, honesty plays a major role in the marriage. According to the Igbo people, if you do not tell the truth when they ask you a question, you will suffer greatly or even die while giving birth. Showing honesty is not just about telling the truth. The Igbo people can also show honesty by, when the groom and his father explain the reason for their visit, the bride s father asks her if she knows her groom and her confirmation shows she accepts the marriage proposal (Michael Widjaja). When the bride accepts the marriage proposal, she is showing her honesty to her father by her accepting who her groom really
  • 47. The Importance Of College In Your Daily Life College is very beneficial to your daily life. College can be very beneficial to your everyday life for example College degree holders earned $58,500 dollars a year, while diploma holders earned $23,900. In my opinion I think that college is pretty much worth the money because college helps you on make that money you used on it back.College also helps on getting better jobs you can enjoy so that you can make money doing something you love. For example In its most recent survey, the National Association of Colleges and Employers found that for 10 broad degree categories ranging from engineering to communications, 2016 graduates are projected to have an average salary of $50,556. That s up 5% from 2014, when new grads earned an average of $48,127. In my perspective I believe that you make a lot more money in college than you do than a high school grad.Because high school grads earn an average hourly wage of $10.89 and a annual income of $22,700 for a full time, full year worker.and finally I believe that College is very beneficial to your daily life by helping you with money problems. Is college really worth the time you put in it.is it worth it They say many successful people never graduated from college and that many jobs, especially trades jobs, do not require college degrees.leading me to believe that college might not be worth the time and effort that will lead me to a better future.for example just look at bill gates he never went to college and got his degree and look
  • 48. Bitcoin And Its Effect On The Success I chose this question because of its potential in having a huge impact on the success or failure of Bitcoin in the near future. As mails have evolved to electronic mail, the world is slowly molding into a world of technology, currency along with it. Bitcoin is an innovative concept to modernizing currency, yet, like many digitalized technology, it also opens many doors to hackers. 1.2 What is Bitcoin? Bitcoin uses a decentralized, peer to peer payment system technology to operate with no middle man or banks. Thus, the management of transactions and issuing of Bitcoins is the responsibility of the whole network, collectively. Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency based on open source software. Also known as virtual currency or electronic money, this cryptocurrency used cryptography to control its creation and transfer (Nakamoto). Bitcoins can be used to buy merchandise anonymously and makes international payments easier and cheaper since the bitcoin is not tied to any government or any rule and regulation. Since there is no intrinsic value to the Bitcoin, vast amounts of research has gone into the security of its protocol. The original focus of attacks were known as History Revision attacks, a concept conceived in the creation of Bitcoin. Yet, research has revealed its infeasibility; it can be shown that, mathematically, the probability that a dishonest or fake chain is longer than an honest one grows exponentially smaller each time a block is added (Skogsberg). Though it
