The Charter, or formally known as The Charter of Rights and Freedoms, is one part
of the Canadian constitution. The Charter details the rights and freedoms that
Canadians believe are necessary in a democratic society. Rights and freedoms such
as the Freedom of Expression, Aboriginal Peoples Rights, The Right to Equality,
Including the Equality of Men and Women; are set in place to protect those who may
be opposed to prejudice due to possible stigma attached to such topics. The Charter
was created by a committee of Canadian Parliamentarians and was signed by Queen
Elizabeth II in Ottawa when it officially came into effect on April 17th, 1982 as part
of the Constitution Act. The Constitution contains the main, underlying rules that
every law in Canadamust abide by. The Charter specifically was created to quote
unify Canadians around a set principles that embody those rights. In non formal
terms, it protects Canadians human rightsfrom being violated in both federal,
provincial and territorial laws. If your human rights were violated, you can
challenge it in a court of law. If the court agrees with you, three outcomes can arise.
First, you can ask the court for any remedy or compensation that is appropriate.
Second, if the rights were violated during an investigation, you may ask the court to
remove the evidence from being valid. Lastly, if the court finds that a law or section
of a law violates a persons Charter rights, they can make an order that the law be
revoked.

Lazarus Allusion
Sylvia Plath uses a lot of allusions in her poem Lady Lazarus to add a deep and
ghostly meaning to the words that she uses. These biblical and historical allusions
also add an extremely angry tone of voice. Ultimately, these biblical and historical
allusions show her message that almost dying is an event she likes to be a part of.
For example, Plath uses a historical allusion to the holocaust in the beginning of the
poem. The reference to the holocaust and other things create the main tone of
death. They are at the beginning of the poem and they are meant to cause shock in

I Did My Wheel Chair Day On September 11
I did my wheel chair day on March 11. It was the day of the anatomy practical. So I
have to admit when I arrived at school I was more concerned about finishing my
practical than doing my wheelchair assignment. I was in the wheelchair while
reviewing the bones box before the practical and actually was not in my wheelchair
for the exam. I didn t feel like I really started my experience until after the practical.
One thing I notice right away was how much shorter I felt. Though it was
something I was expecting, when I actually experienced it I was still surprising. I
found that I had to look up to talk to people. It was a weird feeling because I was so
use to being on the same level as people, and the perspective shift was disorienting.
The second surprise was the bathroom. I never thought this would be an issue since
I considered myself to have strong arms, and felt that I would have been able to do
the task with ease. Although APU has handicap accessible stalks they aren t all that
different from normal ones. Yes they are bigger that a normal stall, but I still had no
clue how to go about transferring myself from the wheelchair to the toilet. It was not
something that I was ever taught. After, the experience I had to look up a video
how to do it, and I can say what I did surely was not as easy as the video made it
seem. I realized that people that are wheelchair bound have many small adaptations
