The document describes an experimental comparison of ranking techniques for multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA). It conducted a simulation experiment to compare the performance of two MCDA ranking methods: the NFR (Normalized Frequency Ratio) method and a new MOEA (Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithm) procedure. The experiment varied the ranking procedure and size of ranking problems. It found that the MOEA procedure significantly outperformed NFR across all conditions, producing lower error rates and more accurate rankings. The MOEA procedure was also less affected by increases in problem size.
