Jacob Douthett FYS – 100 Professor Blanco September 27, 2014 The Angry Eye Prejudice and discrimination have been a part of our society for years, but most people are not aware of what it is like because they are not the victims. In “The Angry Eye” several students are selected out of a group to be “different” than the other students in the room. They were treated as lesser people in order to demonstrate what it is like to be a victim of discrimination. In my opinion, I believe that it is an effective way for students who aren’t normally discriminated to experience what those types of people go through on a daily basis. I didn’t really learn anything from the video, but it did reinforce the belief I have that there is always a group of people that is being abused and victimized for just being different and that the tormentors are horrible people. If I was in the situation that those students were in, or the shoes of someone who goes through that daily, I probably wouldn’t handle it very well. I want attention, but not the bad kind of attention that makes me emotionally compromised.
