According to ethnographers who studied the pacific there are two contrasting groups of people.
On the one hand there was the view of soft primitivism which was represented by the Tahitians
and Hawaiians. Life was portrayed as being easy, and people were pure and guileless. Their lives

It is summer in Ghana and I m walking down a block in my neighborhood. The air is hazy and
dense and the smell of food fills every corner. A city that never used to have any of foreign foods,
now filled with the aroma and signs of fast food restaurants. As I walked, I realize that there was
only one whole food market. Meanwhile, a McDonald s and Kentucky Fried Chicken were seen
on multiple corners. Another thing I noticed: the majority of people entering the fast food market
are from places that were once filled with only traditionalists. A region where its former citizens

The experiment proper was carried out inside a room in the Medina Residence, which is located
at 5 Capt. Miyong St., San Roque, Marikina City, Metro Manila, Philippines. The room
experienced limited sunlight with temperatures that vary from 18В°C to 28В°C. The set up was
placed on top of a table to eliminate the possibility of animal foraging.
Species Selection
The experiment entailed the utilization of three species of plants. The first species, Oryza sativa
Linn., was preselected while the last two species were left to the discretion of the proponent of the
study. Prudent seed selection was done to ensure the preservation of the diversity of the plant
species that will be utilized for the experiment.

and is the main source of carbohydrates in Asian countries. Solanum melongena Linn., commonly

He begins his essay by illustrating the physical appearance of the wall separating Nogales, Arizona

informal. He discovers that crossing the border into Mexico is not too difficult itself. He marvels

uniformly with the increase in the Froude number for all slopes tested. It is also evident from the
graphs that as the upstream Froude Number increases i.e. moves toward more supercritical flow,
the ratio of the D2/D1 i.e. ratio of the downstream depth to the upstream depth also increases. It is
also evident from the graphs that approximately 97% to 100% of the calculated results all lie
within the В± 10% of line of best fit for each curve. As well, each of the graphs verifies a strong
positive linear relationship between the dimensionless jump height and the upstream Froude
Number.
These results imply that a more supercritical upstream flow in D1, will produce a larger
downstream depth, D2, and thus a larger hydraulic jump. The results of the experiment confirm the
following relationships
a. D2/D1 1, the depth increases across the jump so that D2 D1
b. F2 1,downstream flow must be subcritical
c. F1 1,upstream flow must be supercritical
It is observed that length of the jump Lj/D2 ratio also increases with increasing F1 values
exponentially. However it must be noted that it is difficult to derive a purely theoretical expression
for the Jump length which at the present moment is done by comparing experimental data using

There is a short list of things that keep me up at night. Beyond being anxious or too excited for
something that s happening tomorrow, math is the most common offender. Ironic because math is
infamous for making students sleep. When I get my head wrapped around a problem, I cannot
seem to sleep until I have come to some satisfactory conclusion or found a way to get my mind off

Indigenous people are the people who were on the land first, before settlers came and took it
away. In this case, Americans are the settlers, and we took the Indian s land away. We didn t
gently take their land away, we pulled the rug out from under them and stole basically all of it.
We took their land by force so that we could use it for our own benefit. In result of their land being
taken away, the Indians had to move. The indians had to move to from the land that they called
their own. They had to move to cramped, small, dirty, mold filled, unnourished lands called
