How did you attract/ address
your audience
Evaluation question 5
The film
• We decided to target our film towards 15-20 year olds. To make sure
this appealed to them we made sure that our main protagonist was
within that age group so that they could relate to it.
•
As you can see from the picture to the left
we made our logo with a white background
so that all the focus would be on the writing
which is in a simple font and the flame
burning through the background. The
simple font also helps keep the audiences
attention on the flame.
Our title of our film we put at the end to keep
the audience watching until the very end which
helped us keep the tension very high with the
help of tense music. Our title is also very
simple and the fuzzy background makes the
word ”Hidden” stand out much more. It is also
in the style of a typical horror.
We decided to use a drone to shoot the establishing shot as we thought that
we could contrast the typical horror stereotype of being dark and in the
shadows with having rolling hills and sunshine. We also did this to capture
the audiences attention as it doesn't’t give much away about what the film is
about. Although it is very simple it is very affective.
This shot of the protagonist letting themselves into the house can be
interpreted different ways but the main one we were looking for was to
present her as an innocent girl who has just got home from shopping. Which
also keeps the audience intrigued and on edge.
This shot of the protagonist trying to open a mystery door again keeps
what's behind the door a mystery and makes the audience want to carry on
watching which is what we wanted it to do.
In conclusion
• In conclusion in order to attract our target audience I made sure that
the main protagonist was within the age category as the audience so
that it was relatable to them and that they would then feel more
involved with the film.
• The music choice we made also helped as it helped add tension for
those who love being scared which helped increase the adrenaline as
they didn't’t know what to expect.
