Evaluation Question 4

How did you use media technologies
in the construction of and research,
  planning and evaluation stages?
What have I used?
• Throughout all the planning, researching,
developing and evaluation stages I have used
many technologies that have aided myself to
  produce my products:
Internet
• Throughout the production and evaluation of my products
the internet has played a very large part. I have used many
sites during my research into existing products and when
presenting my final products, using sites such as YouTube
(largest online video site in the world) and slideshare.
YouTube allowed me to show my final teaser trailer to
anyone, and also have a look at the current work on there
from other Media A2 students around the country. This
helped me develop my idea further as I knew what other
students were able to produce using roughly the same
equipment I had at my disposal. YouTube also allowed me
to search for help videos on programs such as InDesign and
PhotoShop, as I had never used these programs before.
Blogger
• Blogger has been a vital internet site that I have used
throughout the whole year as it was the base for
displaying all my planning, research, first draft of
products and final draft of products. Blogger is an
online posting site where users can post entries
including text, images, videos and PowerPoint's.
Therefore, I used this site to document all of my work
in one place. To upload videos and PowerPoint’s I used
the sites YouTube and slideshare. After using blogger
for two successive years to document my work, my
confidence in using it has increased massively and I feel
using this site is very useful in displaying my work in
  many different, creative, ways.
Mac computers
• All of my research and production of ancillary
products have been completed on an Apple
Mac computer. I used multiple programs to
edit my video clips and create a soundtrack for
my teaser trailer. Having only used a Mac
computer the previous year I was still learning
how to use certain aspects this year, however I
used internet sites such as YouTube to look for
  tutorial videos.
Computer Programs
• Final Cut Express – This program is used to edit and create my teaser trailer, it
allowed me to place all of my clips into one place and then organize them/cut
them down to what I wanted. It also allowed me to keep the certain sounds
that I wanted from my video clips, for example footsteps.
• Live type – This program allows you to create animated text. I used this
program for all of my inter titles as it was very useful because it allowed you to
add animations, colours and effects to my text. Using these made my inter
titles and therefore overall teaser trailer look more professional.
• Photoshop – I used Photoshop to edit the images I had taken for my film
poster and film magazine front cover. I was able to cut the character out and
place them onto a different background and then remove any blemishes or
spots from their faces to make the overall image look more professional.
• InDesign – I used this program to bring together my ideas on both the film
poster and magazine front cover. I was able to place text over my image, place
an effect on the text and add colour to make the piece more eye catching to
    the target audience.
