Media technologies played a key role throughout the construction, research, planning and evaluation stages of the project. YouTube and Google were used extensively for research and planning to analyze existing music videos and find inspiration. A Nikon DSLR camera was used for production and Adobe Premiere was used for editing, both of which the student learned to use effectively. Blogger, SlideShare and Prezi were utilized to create presentations that were easy to navigate and visually appealing.

How did you use media technologies in the construction and
research, planning and evaluation stages?

• Media technologies as a whole played a huge part in the making of our final
product, I gained a range of skills in the production of all my products by
using both software & hardware, however some media technologies were
more benefital and effective in the production of my media products.
• Due to me using such a wide range of media technologies through all my
products, this displays how I can use digital technologies by technological
convergence such as IPhone.. Being able to plan, construct research and
edit all my products on one peace of technologies shows a clear example
also of a technological convergence.

3. Research
• The use of media technologies was of high importance, whilst doing my research, into
current media texts and professional bands to get an idea on what we wanted to
make/construct our final product.
• I used several websites to find information to which would be key and of use to me, the one
main website which was the one I used the most was YouTube, as this allowed me to
look at music videos and analysis them.
• By using these websites I had the chose of many music videos to watch, all with different
types of genre to look into to get Ideas for the making of our products, it also allowed
me to gain knowledge into the conventions of all genres, which also helped in the
production of my final peace.
• When looking into my ancillary's I used google, in order to look at magazine adverts and
album covers which will, help me in the making of my ancillary's, I also gained more
knowledge on the codes and conventions of genres and this also helped me in the
making of my ancillary's.

4. Production
• The main production of my final piece was made on a Nikon DSLR camera.
Altogh I had not used one of these cameras to conducted any over piece
of video work before. I was able to gain skills and learn and to use the
camera efficiently by having test and practice goes, before filming the
footage I wanted to be in my final Music video. For example I learnt that
if you help the top button on the camera down gently it would focus the
image, to give it a good professional look

5. Editing
• When editing my raw footage for my final piece, I used Adobe Premier, which was also a
software I had not used before, however using my practise footage, I practised editing on
thid software, and gained some valuable skills in the editing of my video. For example
double clicking on the clip it allowed you to slow down the speed of the clip which
would give the footage a good look. These skills then became more developed as they
abled me to make my video look professional.
• When making my ancillary’s I used adobe Photoshop, this was a software I had used before,
and required similar skills to which my foundation portfolio required.
• When using this advanced software it allowed, us to get such a high quality edit in our a final
video. Which would then appeal to what our target audience would expect to see in a
music video, on the other hand because the software was so advanced we was not able to
use all the features, as we didn’t know how to.

6. Presentation
• In our presentations we used several media technologies. The main one being
