The document analyzes the social groups featured in a film, including gender, age, and class. It notes that the main characters are female teenagers from a low working class background. For gender, it discusses portraying the female characters as strong-willed. For age, it discusses portraying one twin as misunderstood and the other as a troublemaker, playing into stereotypes of teenagers. For class, it discusses portraying the characters as dressing in affordable clothes and visiting typical lower-class areas, playing into stereotypes of the lower class as troublemakers.

You may have heard of the Montessori program that is developing in schools but do you really know what this means or how it changes your child’s education?
2. Which social groups feature in your
film?
• Gender;
– The genders of the main characters are female.
• Age
– The age of the main characters are of adolescence
(teenagers)
• Class
– The class of the main characters are of low
working class.
3. Gender
• The gender of both main characters are female.
• I portray these females as strong minded, this is
somewhat stereotypical, as a whole gender
females are very strong with their decisions they
make, however female teenagers are usually
stereotyped as emotionally unstable.
• This is portraying females as a whole in a positive
light as I am paying attention to their more
stereotypical strengths as women.
4. Age
• The age of both main characters are in the late
teens, this is in the adolescence stage.
• I portray the teenagers differently.
– Myrtle is portrayed as a misunderstood person which
is one of the main stereotypes of a teenager.
– Myrtle’s twin, however, is portrayed as a trouble
maker which is also one of the main stereotypes of a
teenager.
• This is portraying teenagers as a whole as “bad
news”, this may intrigue an audience of a similar
age as it is seen as comical (taken in jest).
5. Class
• The class of both main characters are low-working
class.
• I portray the main characters as low working class by
dressing them in “high street” clothes and the places
that they visit (i.e. Dagenham (estates)). This is
stereotypical areas of a lower class person to visit or
live, it is also stereotypical of these areas to wear “high
street” clothes. I also portrayed them as trouble-
makers.
• This is portraying lower-class people in a negative light
as they are stereotypically seen as trouble-makers.
