Evaluation Question 1
Q. How do your products use or challenge
conventions and how they represent social
groups and issues?
About the Video
• The genre of my product is “Pop”. This is a cover of
“Payphone by Maroon 5”. This video includes a love
story in a school between students. They are unknown
but the girls sees the boy everyday in the library, she’s
interested in having friendship with that boy but takes the
initiate to say hi first. They both become friends and the
friendship turns into love. One day when the boy is
messaging someone but the girl misunderstood and
thinks the boy is cheating her. The boy and girl are now
both away from each other but thinking about the good
times they spent together.
• My product is typically a pop genre
product, I have mainly used the codes and
conventions of a pop music video. Social
groups and their issues can be seen in my
final product.
Answer to the Question
• Students can be seen in
the video which shows
that the social group in
the video is 16-24.
Basically, the students
are in colleges, so they
are 18-20 years old.
Other students are also
seen in this video. Bags,
uniform, chairs are used
as props and to create
reality in the video.
• As they belong to the 18-20 age group, so
their, social group issues are represented
in the video through many ways e.g.
studies, friendships, misunderstandings.
• In my video, I used different editing
techniques to show meaning in my video
e.g. the last scenes are black and white
and are in slow motion, this is to show the
flashback.
Issues in making my product
• This is my final product but this is my
second attempt in making video. I had to
manage time with my actors and my
studies. This was the challenging part
because I was surrounded with new things
to experience and try to make a good
product. Learning new software was also a
challenge.

  • 1. Evaluation Question 1 Q. How do your products use or challenge conventions and how they represent social groups and issues?
  • 2. About the Video • The genre of my product is “Pop”. This is a cover of “Payphone by Maroon 5”. This video includes a love story in a school between students. They are unknown but the girls sees the boy everyday in the library, she’s interested in having friendship with that boy but takes the initiate to say hi first. They both become friends and the friendship turns into love. One day when the boy is messaging someone but the girl misunderstood and thinks the boy is cheating her. The boy and girl are now both away from each other but thinking about the good times they spent together.
  • 3. • My product is typically a pop genre product, I have mainly used the codes and conventions of a pop music video. Social groups and their issues can be seen in my final product.
  • 4. Answer to the Question • Students can be seen in the video which shows that the social group in the video is 16-24. Basically, the students are in colleges, so they are 18-20 years old. Other students are also seen in this video. Bags, uniform, chairs are used as props and to create reality in the video.
  • 5. • As they belong to the 18-20 age group, so their, social group issues are represented in the video through many ways e.g. studies, friendships, misunderstandings.
  • 6. • In my video, I used different editing techniques to show meaning in my video e.g. the last scenes are black and white and are in slow motion, this is to show the flashback.
  • 7. Issues in making my product • This is my final product but this is my second attempt in making video. I had to manage time with my actors and my studies. This was the challenging part because I was surrounded with new things to experience and try to make a good product. Learning new software was also a challenge.
