3. USE
• We decided to use a quotation from a magazine article as a selling point for our
film. We decided to use Empire Magazine as it is a respected film magazine that is
recognised by the public. We also decided to use the typing style to display the
quotation as it keeps in with the rest of our trailer.
• We also decided to use a recording box that is featured in various films to
represent the use of a hand held camera. We were able to produce this in
Photoshop and then import it to iMovie and use the “Picture in a Picture” tool to
put it over our footage.
• We also used a montage to help heighten the tension in our trailer to help build up
to our final shot of the stalker character behind the victims.
• We also used a “coming soon” shot, which is featured in most trailers, along with a
web address and a twitter account as we thought it would be a good way for our
target audience to find out more about the film.

5. DEVELOP
• We decided, in order to make our trailer look more professional, we decided to
create our own production and distribution company logos. We decided on the
names “Hollow Mind Production” and “After Dark Distribution” and shaped our
logos so that they were both relevant to the names as well as keeping in with the
genre of our film.
• We also developed on a final shot for our trailer. We showed a small part of the
stalker behind the victims, introducing the character as a threat. However, we
didn’t establish the gender, age or any other features about the character that the
audience would want to know. Creating a sense of mystery towards our film.
• We also created our own titles to help explain the narrative to our audience so
that it works effectively along side our footage.

7. CHALLENGE
• We first introduced our disruption by using nose bleeds which we have never seen
in any other media text before.
• We also switched between our stalker-style hand held camera to a static, night
vision camera style from various pints around the room to give the impression that
the victims are being watched.
• The next thing we added was the camera static effect at the end of the trailer as
we thought that this worked well with our footage as it added to our stalker theme
our and helped emphasise the digital aspects of our trailer.
• We also added a human heartbeat sound over our montage. This works well as
the sound works in time with the montage, adding to the whole effect.
• The last thing I changed was the colour of the font before making it an animated
logo to make it more eye catching as well as link it more to the conventions of our
trailer.
