Dearest Friends,
People need people to talk to; they need people they can open their hearts to; people need people to hold hands and feel strong; they need people who can hold them and let them cry.

The paper deals with the identification of optimal structural morphologies through evolutionary procedures.
Two main approaches are considered. The first one simulates the Biological Growth (BG) of natural structures like the bones and the trees. The second one, called Evolutionary Structural Optimization (ESO), removes material at low stress level. Optimal configurations are addressed by proper optimality indexes and by a monitoring of the structural response. Design graphs suitable to this purpose are introduced and employed in the optimization of a pylon carrying a suspended roof and of a bridge under multiple loads.

1. How does your media represent
particular social groups?
2. Age
• I believe my product represents youth positivley.
As the product shows them to be successful as
they are in a music magazine. Youth usually on
the who youths aren’t represented well in British
media. People in the media are quick to report
any bad publicity about youths. My product does
the opposite. There is well known stereotype
which represents youths as anti socials who
where hoodies. Although a few people in my
magazine are wearing hoodies there is no bad
connotations which look to be associated with
that piece of clothing
3. Gender
• I haven’t represented females in any way
in my magazine because I feel after taking
my research into account that there are
very few women in music magazines
therefore I have chosen not represent that
specific gender. I have also chosen to
represent Tony as ‘lad’ as he uses british
slang in his interview.
4. Social class
• I have only really represnted the working
class as this is what Tony says he is in his
interview on the double page spread. Thye
working class are usually represented in
the media as hard working and realistic
about life and I feel I have upheld that
particular stereotype in my magazine.
5. Disabled/ Abled
• I haven’t represnted disability in any way
in my product. In the media diabled people
are often marginalized and less reported
on or when they are it is usually very
patronising which makes it a negative
representation. Therefore I am doing what
most of the British media do.
