DEMOGRAPHICS
 Age – Late teen, young Adult
 Ethnicity – White/ Caucasian
 Gender – Both, however is slightly more targeted to females because of the contents that
is featured, such as a puff to win a day with Justin Bieber.
 Social Class – E – unemployed and still in education.
GENRE
“ The Term Popular music belong to any of a number of music genres “ having a wide appeal” and typically distributed to large audiences
through the music industry”
“ Popular music is a genetic term for music all ages that appeals to popular tastes, whereas pop music usually refers to a specific musical
genre”
My music magazine is aimed towards a certain age
group however is for any type of gender which
emphasizes the genre popular music.
Popular music encourages dancing and
my target audience is young so would
dance. Dance might also be an interest
for my target audience. So they would
typically go out. They would read this
magazine to relax after a night out
Puff/pugs
I used this cover line puff/ pug to grab the
audience. I chose to do a competition to
meet a celebrity as it is what would
interest my target audience young
adults/ teenagers. The majority of
puff/pugs are used to promote the issue
type, something exclusive that they can
only get from the magazine and usually
promotes a brand. My puff/pug is to win a
day with Justin Bieber, therefore I am
promoting an artist on my magazine.
Sky line
I used the sky to advertise what was in
the magazine, putting celebrities at
the top of the front cover.
Social NetworkingTerminology
On the contents page I added instagram and
twitter accounts - @PopCultureMAG9
I did this as my target audience is typically
heavy on social media therefore it would
help interact with the readers and keep them
interested.
I would use a variety of marketing techniques to attract my target audience. As my target
audience are young I don’t think a shop poster would be helpful as they would most likely walk
straight past it however having the poster printed onto a bus would be, as the majority of my
target audience would most likely still be using public transport. Another marketing technique I
would use would beTV adverts after a popular program on a channel that has a similar target
audience to my music magazine, such as ‘MTV’ and ‘ITVBe’.Using sister magazines to help
promote would be very beneficial also as it would send there target audience straight to our
magazine because of the same interests shared in the music magazines. An example of a sister
magazine would be ‘Q’ or the ‘Billboard’.
 The model who is featured is an artist called ‘J.Hart’, the model conforms well to the
stereotypes of my magazine music genre as he is wearing a ‘VANZ’ t- shirt which is is a well
know brand which a lot of people wear. The Model race is White/Caucasian. I chose this to
reflect the stereotype of my music genre magazine as the majority of the is genre the artist
are white/ Caucasian.
 I structured my interview with the same conventions as other magazines. With a Stan first
paragraph.Through having the article with a well known artist, attracting fans of the artist.
This is also emphasizes by the quote used to make the fans want to find out more about the
article and artist.
