IN WHAT WAYS DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT USE,
DEVELOP OR CHALLENGE
FORMS AND CONVENTIONS OF REAL MEDIA
PRODUCTS?
▸For my magazine I have used the normal things which a magazine would use. For example;
masthead, cover line, main image, puffs and many more. When I used these I placed them
where a magazine would normally place them. This is because if I miss placed them then
people would think that the magazine is childish and doest know what they are doing.
▸I used typical girly colours like hot pink and bubblegum blue, I did this so girls in my target
audience would notice the magazine. This is because people usually notice things with their
favourite or bright colours.
▸I created synergy between the colours on my magazine because then people would know what
type of magazine it is, so usually girly magazines would have young girly colours on; like pink,
blue, purple, green, yellow, all these colours would be bright because young girls like bright
colours, they like neon type colours.
▸Also I created synergy with the colours blue and pink, because I used the colours all through
my magazine.

HOW DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT
REPRESENT PARTICULAR SOCIAL GROUPS?
▸My media product is aimed at teens.
▸Colours associated with girls is pink, blue, purple, green, yellow
E.C.T. They are also associated with bright neon colours. I used
the colours blue and pink and they are bright colours so these
colours easily associate the magazine with teens.
▸Teenagers love to hear new beauty and make up tips, hear
about male stars, they also love to hear gossip and new concerts
and they love to hear about their favourite artist. I have included
all of these in my magazine.

WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT
DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT AND WHY?
▸I think that the magazine publisher Bauer would publish my magazine.
▸The shops that would sell my magazine would probably be
supermarkets, small and big supermarkets. I think that stores like
WHsmiths would sell my magazine because they get a lot of students in
because they sell stationary.
▸I would also sell my magazines through clothing stores, this is because
teenage girls would go in here often, this also goes for stores like
Superdrug and Boots. This is because girls would usually shop in all of
these stores so they will always see the magazine and will want to buy it.

WHO WOULD BE THE AUDIENCE FOR
YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT?
▸The audience for my pop magazine would be female
teenagers 13-16 years old.

HOW DO YOU ATTRACT/ADDRESS YOUR
AUDIENCE?
▸In my contents page I used direct address to address the reader, I did this with
the title on my contents page; ‘Especially For You’. This then addresses the
reader and they feel more connected with the magazine.
▸I also used people about the same age of the readers for the front cover and
the double page spread this helps the readers connect more with the
magazine.
▸Also the colours which I have used relate to teens and the bright colours
appeal to them the most.
▸Also the content which is in the magazine appeals to teenagers because it has
the things which they like; for example artist gossip, festival news, and makeup
and hair tips.

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES
FROM THE PROCESS
OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT
▸I have learnt more about photoshop as that is what i have
used to create my work. I have learnt a more about all of the

▸I used sites on the internet to help me understand how to
use specific features in photoshop, this helped a lot with the
process of constructing my product.

LOOKING BACK AT YOUR PRELIMINARY
TASK, WHAT DO YOU FEEL YOU HAVE
LEARNT IN THE PROGRESSION FROM IT TO
THE FULL PRODUCT.
▸I feel as if I have learnt how to create a magazine and how to attract the target audience.
I have also learnt how to place article lines and how to set out a front cover of a
magazine, contents page and double page spread.
▸I have also learnt how to create a blog about how I have researched and created a pop
magazine.
▸I have also learn that even the smallest things to adjust, like making something bigger or
smaller on the pages of a magazine makes a big difference and can affect how the
overall product looks.
▸I have also learnt that you have to create synergy with colours throughout your magazine
otherwise your pages don't match your magazine and they look out off place .
▸So overall I have learnt many things about magazines which I didn't know before.
