EVALUATION-QUESTION 6
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this
product?
TECHNOLOGY USED
• In my production I have used several technologies for research, planning and
evaluating my y product these include…
• Internet (blogger, websites, slideshare ect)
• Canon 1300D
• Powerpoint
• Photoshop
• Lighting
INTERNET
• I used the internet to do many things. I used the internet to research codes and
conventions of music magazines, I also used the internet to look at tutorials on
YouTube which proved helpful when using Photoshop. I also used the internet to
get in contact with my models to arrange dates and times to meet up. Blogger is the
way we present work and is a website on the internet this is a very helpful website
when it comes to presenting your work.
POWERPOINT
• PowerPoint proved very helpful when evaluating my final piece as it was the base
for all my evaluation presentations and research and planning presentations. I did
not need to use any tutorials when using PowerPoint as I am very familiar with the
programme, it is also very simple and an easy way to present work in an organised
format. I stuck to PowerPoint the whole way through because I didn't want to
change the way my blog looked.
CANON 1300D
• The Canon 1300D is my personal camera so I have a lot of experience with it, I know
how to work many of the features in manual and for the few things I didn’t quite
understand, like depth of field, I went away to look at tutorials on YouTube about
how to use depth of field when taking photos.
• I used the camera for all the images on my final piece and it proved a very quick and
reliable piece of technology as after I took photos I could playback them and see if
any changes were necessary.
PHOTOSHOP
• Photoshop was a programme I hadn’t used very much before. I only had very basic
knowledge on how to use it so I had to watch many YouTube tutorials and spent a
lot of time experimenting with certain features and tools. I found one of the most
helpful ways to use Photoshop was to actually go on the adobe web page and look
at their own tutorials, which were very quick and easy to follow and had gave a lot
of guidance.
LIGHTING
• Lighting is a very basic piece of technology however lighting is very tricky to get
right and very fiddley, using a spreadsheet in the classroom however which gives
detailed diagrams on where to put certain lighting in relation to camera and model,
was very helpful and allowed me to experiment with different placements of
lighting.
