6. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
Through the process of constructing my media product
I have learnt many things about the technologies that I
have used on the way to create my music magazine.
Firstly, I have learned a lot about Photoshop and all the
different aspects of the software, I have learned how to
manipulate images and make them become more eye
catching, I have learned how to edit text in certain ways
so that it doesn’t look like dull, uninteresting text
through the use colours and resizing. I have also
learned from Photoshop how to put together a full
magazine front cover, contents page and double page
spread and make them look professional and suitable
for a target audience. Through the use of rulers and
guides I have learned how to place accurate text and
images onto a page without it looking untidy and
unprofessional.
The website ‘Eblogger’ has taught me how to blog my work
documents whether it was a text document or image also with
the help of ‘Slideshare’ which also allowed me to learn how to
upload my documents onto its website, for example, a document
on the analysis of a music magazine front cover.
When putting my magazine together I had to take photographs
on a professional Nikon camera which allowed me to take clear
and focused images which looked professional. I learned how to
add the grid on the screen of the camera so I could achieve rule of
thirds accurately and also how to put an image in focus so that it
did not look blurry and unprofessional.
