Genre Mood Board
We created a moodboard to give
audiences an idea of what kind of
genre our film has. These collected
screenshots are from films such as:
Goodfellas, Pulp Fiction, Legend
and
The Godfather.
This shows that our film will include
themes such as strong violence,
some special effects and a love
aspect.
This also shows that the people
who have enjoyed watching the
films on the moodboard are more
than likely to enjoy watching our
film.
Audience Profile
Our film is targeted at people from the age of 17-40 years old. It is
not suitable for people younger than the age of 17 as there are
scenes which include strong language and violence. People over
the age of 40 might find some aspects of the film offensive and
therefore watch at their own risk. It is most watched by a typical
heterosexual audience as the main stereotype in the film is
white/heterosexual. This is because the film is heavily influenced
by 60’s gangster films. These films also stereotype women as very
flirty and are used by the gangsters as trophy’s. Our film is mainly
targeted at working/middle class people, as the typical gangster in
films such as ours does not fit to a specific class but is most like
working class which is could be relatable to audiences.
Audience Feedback
When asked what we could do to improve our film opening,
the audiences noticed there were flaws in our opening
sequence that prevent it from being set in the 1960’s. For
example, the gun used was very modern, Luis’ character
was wearing trainers and there was graffiti on the wall in
some shots.
After being given this feedback, we made clear that our film
was not meant to be set in the 1960’s in all our pre-
production evaluations and that it is actually set in the
1990’s but in the style of a 60’s gangster film.
Audience Mood Board
This audience moodboard shows that certain things are
connected with the stereotype of a gangster. For
example, it shows that flashy sports cars are used to
represent wealth and power and the brief case implies
the owner has a lot of money. These stereotypes would
often be seen in a pub with a few friend and smoking.
Smoking is significant for these people because
although it is very bad for you, they think it looks cool
and it adds to their characters. It is also symbolises
how tuff they think they are as they do not care about
unhealthy habbits/addictions.
