1. Evaluation
This unit was about creating our own project of our choice, either being a short film, magazine,
website page etc. I decided to recreate an online magazine article with the same layout but with
different contents, because this meant I could do it on a topic of my choice and get to take and use
my own pictures.
I am quite pleased with the way my article has turned out, the banners and adverts are the same as
in the original and are in the same place, however because I had to do it on word it meant that the
positioning of some of the content isn’t identical to it in the original magazine due to their having to
be separate a4 pages. And also because I screen printed the borders and adverts from the original
website and imported them into word, the lost focus slightly and went blurry.
Unfortunately I didn’t use my time very wisely when doing my pre production, production and post
production. I spent too long on the post production watching how to videos and way too long on
post production. Although I have learnt lots of new skills, such as how to use the different setting on
the camera and what you can achieve by doing so. And also how other ways to edit and add effects
on Photoshop.
I asked Bea and Maisie to have a look at my final piece and they thought it looked similar to the
webpage and that they content was also good, but they also agreed that it would be better if the
borders, adverts e.t.c. weren’t blurry.A strength of my final piece is that there is a suitable amount of
relatable content and that overall it does look similar, however a weakness is the blurriness and the
fact that there are pages so that it leaves gaps. If I were to do it again I would make sure that im
more time efficient with the whole process.
