Our media products challenge some conventions of existing music media. We could not get Fall Out Boy for our music video, so we created our own band instead of focusing on star appeal. We also did not use intertextuality, challenging typical conventions. However, we followed other conventions like having actors look at the camera in the video, magazine ad, and album cover similarly to Fall Out Boy products. By linking lyrics and visuals in a narrative, we developed the storyline in an interesting way that is understandable to audiences.
