One of Andrew Goodwin’s theories is Voyeurism and
notions of looking. Voyeurism is used widely to sell
the band or artists work through the sexual appeal.
Notions of looking is when there is eye contact with
the camera, this includes props like, mirrors, cameras,
tv screens. Most of these are all usually referenced to
in music videos. This is huge part of this music video,
as the main part of the video is Selena sat in front of
a camera in a photo-shoot. Also pretty much all the way
through the video she is staring directly at the
camera. The direct contact that she is making seems to
be a running theme throughout most of her videos.
The way Selena looks at the camera is quite seductive,
Andrew Goodwin called this Voyeurism and notions of
looking.
In the shots where she says ‘Go a head now!’, she looks
directly at the camera, suggesting that she is talking
to us. This gives us a feel of closeness between her
and us.
Andrew Goodwin also talked about the relationship
between lyrics and visuals. This links to Selena

bullets’ the audience see a load of bullets and casings
