3. WORDPRESS
 Throughout my research and planning, production and post
production I have found Wordpress really useful to blog and keep
track of my progress.
 It is easy and simple to use and practical to compare posts, for
example I am able to look back at my first posts of trying to create
a magazine to my actual magazine and see the progress I have
made.
 It has been useful as there are different ways to blog such as
specifically blogging photos, videos or links of just a simple way to
blog text.

4. CAMERA
 For the filming of my Soap opera and pictures for the ancillary tasks I
used a cannon 450.
 It was easy to use and had a standard quality and allowed me to record
a range of shots, close ups, tracking etc. However I believe by using
this camera it had a negative effect on my work as when I transferred
the footage onto the Apple Mac it was grainy.
 Evidence to support the camera not having very good quality footage
when transferred was found when I had to film a short clip on my
iphone( due to not having access to the camera).The quality was much
better ,however because of the difference in quality I was unable to use
the footage from my iphone because there was a vast difference.
 Overall I feel my work was effected by the quality of the camera and
because it was a well known brand and had good reviews, I did not
expect the outcome of the footage to be as poor as it was. I found the
camera was better for photographing still shots for my magazine front
cover rather then using it to film.

5. IMOVIE/ APPLE MACS
 For my editing during construction I used imovie to edit all my
footage and put the trailer together. I believe this was my most
important media technology as without this my work would not have
merged together.
 Whilst editing on imovie I was able to have freedom to move clips
around for example the feet walking away from the murder was
originally before the close up of the murdered victim, however when
re assessing it I decided to move it.

6. SLIDESHARE/ PREZZI
 To transfer power points onto word press, I have
had to use another media technology called slide
share. To then get it onto word press all I have to do
is copy the link and to view it the slideshare opens
up in another tab.
 Prezzi is another technology I have used to
incorporate into my work ,again to view it on word
press I need to copy the link and to view it, it opens
up in another tab.

7. YOUTUBE
 I used YouTube to upload different parts of my coursework as it
gave me another type of media to incorporated into my work.
 I used YouTube to show a short video of my story board but also
uploaded my final product onto there. This is because I know
YouTube has good reviews and would be a reliable source to put
my work onto so it could be transferred to word press.
 When putting the link onto word press it is easily accessible to view
as it opens up into a new tab.

8. INTERNET
 I used the internet throughout all of my media
coursework, in my research and planning I looked
at different magazine front covers and posters to
gain ideas and also sourced them to analyse.
 When constructing my soap I used the internet to
see what appeals to a younger audience and also
to gain additional knowledge about soap operas
which allowed me to create an opera to appeal to
my target audience.

9. PHOTOSHOP
 Throughout my construction I used Photoshop constantly. I used it to edit images,
create my magazine front cover and also the soap poster
 During my research stage we had a tutorial on how to use Photoshop, after this
tutorial I decided to begin to create a magazine so I knew what tools to use and how
to lay it out when I had to create my final magazine front cover.
 Photoshop allowed my to make my Images look professional for example removing
white lines around the images being able to sharpen the images and blending them
into the background, it also allowed my to portray the characters subtly but to fit my
storyline of a murder for example, I used drop shadows on the two girls behind the
main character to show them negatively.

10. IMOVIE/ APPLE MACS CONTINUED...
 Imovie also allowed me to add sound effects ( the sirens at the
end of the trailer) and change the levels of colour for example I
was able to change the feet walking away to black and white to
give a cold effect that someone had been murdered.
 Overall I feel imovie was a good programme to use to edit
however along the way I came across a few problems. As I hadn't
used the software before it took me a while to work out how to use
it effectively, the second issue was the Mac itself wouldn't let me
save my work to overcome this I had to research on the internet
what to do.
