My media product is an indie/alternative music magazine that adheres to typical magazine conventions such as the title, issue number, price and barcode on the front cover. The front cover features the main artist posing against a background that fades from black to white. The content page and double page spread also follow conventions by including the page number, images of featured artists and titles. The magazine color scheme of black, white and blue is a typical convention that makes the product more eye catching.

2. My media product meets the typical codes and conventions of a
magazine and adheres specifically to my chosen genre,
indie/alternate with a cross over of acoustic music. On the Front
Cover I have typical magazine conventions such as the title, a
barcode, the magazine issue number, a top line and the price. On the
front cover I have the main artist posing and I have a plain
background which fades from black to white, my choice in
background colour develops the typical conventions of my genre as
normally the background is one block colour. I decided not to do this
as I felt a block black background was very simplistic and made the
magazine appear unprofessional. I have additionally put the image of
the artist overlaying the magazine name. My content page and my
double page spread also use conventions of my media product. Both
have the page number, images of featured artists, and the title of
what is on that page. My magazine sticks to a colour scheme, of
black, white and blue, I chose to use blue as although it is a colour
more associated with males, it is also a colour highly popular with
females. This uses a typical convention as the magazines of my
genre usually use black and white as the principal colours in a
scheme and they usually add a brighter colour to make the magazine
more eye catching and to add another dimension.
