The document discusses European research opportunities, including those available through Horizon 2020 and EURAXESS Researchers in Motion. Horizon 2020 funds excellence in science, industrial leadership, and societal challenges. It highlights the European Research Council (ERC) grants and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), which support mobility and career development. EURAXESS Researchers in Motion is a pan-European initiative with four tools to support researcher mobility and career development, including EURAXESS Links India. The webinar promotes European research opportunities and the services of EURAXESS Links India to support Indian researchers.

Health and Wellbeing Living Lab Symposium PresentationsVITALISEProject
The Health and Wellbeing Living Lab Symposium is dedicated to showcasing the outcomes of the VITALISE project, which focuses on harmonizing Living Lab services and procedures while recognizing Living Labs as integral Research Infrastructures. Over the past three years, a collaborative effort among Living Labs in Health has actively demonstrated the significance of Living Labs as Research Infrastructures, effectively representing the global Living Lab community. The work undertaken in VITALISE aligns with the overarching vision of Living Labs developed over the last 15 years, manifesting in project results that advance the recognition and quality of harmonized Living Labs.
This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101007990 The symposium's primary objective is to engage in collective reflection with the European Commission and relevant stakeholders and beneficiaries of Research Infrastructures. The aim is to discuss and plan the next steps toward a new era where Research Infrastructures are open and actively involve communities as powerful tools for co-research.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

What is the purpose of the Sabbath Law in the Torah. It is interesting to compare how the context of the law shifts from Exodus to Deuteronomy. Who gets to rest, and why?
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Similarly several of the ERC ”main list” Principal Investigators have received recently very prestigious awards.
Marie Sklodowska was born in 1867 in Warsaw.
In 1891, when she was 24 years old, she came to Paris to study Physical Science.
Three years later, she had not only obtained her degree, but was even first of class. She started to study math
But in the meantime she started study on the Magnetic Properties of Steel for the Society for the Encouragement of National Industry.
She would be doing this work for Gabriel LIPPMANN, who was Head of the Physical Science department at the Sorbonne, and who would supervise her Thesis
It was also LIPPMANN who introduced Marie to Pierre Curie. They would get married a year later.
It was because she left her home country that Curie could go deeper into her science – and meet her future husband.
She was the first woman to obtain the Nobel Prize, and is still the only woman to have obtained the Nobel Prize twice.
For these accomplishments that the European researcher mobility programme was named after her.
The programme started almost 20 years ago, in 1996.
Under FP7, it allowed to fund 9 400 projects (Jan 2014), corresponding to €4.75 billion.
It continues today, as part of Horizon 2020.
