Rapid User Research - a talk from Agile 2013 by Aviva RosensteinAviva Rosenstein
Doing user research before and during development helps inform your choices about strategy (what to build) as well as tactics (how to build it)-- and it doesn't have to slow down your development process . In fact some rapidly executed research can speed up your time to market by reducing the need to refactor late in a project.
This presentation includes practical information to help product owners and developers quickly get inside the heads of their users, validate product ideas and improve the usability of their software at warp speed. The talk included tips and techniques for recruiting research participants, shadowing and interviewing users effectively, getting valuable feedback on product concepts and information architecture, and rapidly iterating on the user interface to improve usability. They discussed remote testing tools that help teams evaluate if users can successfully achieve their goals with their designs, and reviewed best practices collecting feedback from users after launch.

Lean Startup Tools for Scrum Product OwnersTechWell
In just a few years, the Lean Startup movement has gained influence by promoting a powerful but simple agile product management toolset—one that complements agile software development approaches such as Scrum and kanban. Arlen Bankston explores the tools and techniques product owners at startup companies and others are employing today for project visioning, experimental design, evaluating new feature impact, prototyping, split testing, and gaining early customer feedback. He demonstrates tools like Google Analytics and reveals where to find and how to exploit "pirate metrics." With case studies, Arlen illustrates how these approaches have been applied on large and small projects. Because the Scrum Product Owner role is often oversimplified yet difficult to execute well, these techniques have been welcomed in organizations ranging from Silicon Valley startups to the US government and its contractors. Join Arlen and add your name to the list!
The Design Sprints are a 2-5 days process for answering critical business questions through design, prototyping, and testing ideas with customers.
In this keynote I present you the Google Venture Design Sprints Methodology.

People Over Process: Turning Assumptions into Shared Understandingmjovel
Every project is based on a number of assumptions. Assumptions about our users and assumptions that our team has a shared vision of what we are building and why we are building it. The longer we hold onto these assumptions, the greater we increase the risk of not meeting our users needs and ultimately, our project fails.
This talk will be about how we ensure we are meeting our users needs. In addition to learning project workflow, we will cover specific techniques that you can use to ensure that the user is at the center of our design and that you create a shared understanding among your team.
Unlock Real Customer Feedback Using Emotion AIEntropikTech
The modern-day customer is distracted and overwhelmed with choices, making 95% of their purchase decisions subconsciously, influenced by emotions. In-depth Interviews, Focus Group Discussions, and Surveys might not be sufficient to understand the complex mind of the modern-day consumer. Because the problem with traditional methods is that they are biased, lack scalability, and most importantly, fail to answer the "why" part of the purchase decision.
Emotion AI is solving these long-standing problems by augmenting the traditional ways of consumer research. With more than 90% accuracy and computer-vision-based methods, Emotion Insights are helping brands to humanize their experiences at scale, by unlocking real customer feedback.

Video content analytics (VCA) helps companies extract brand insights by evaluating consumer sentiment from all types of video data. There has been a noticeable increase in user-generated video content as social media platforms like TikTok and YouTube incentivize people for uploading videos. Brands are noticing this trend and have increased product and promotion videos as well. This is also because studies show that viewers retain 95% of a message when they watch it in a video, compared to only 10% when reading it.

Adjusting OpenMP PageRank : SHORT REPORT / NOTESSubhajit Sahu
For massive graphs that fit in RAM, but not in GPU memory, it is possible to take
advantage of a shared memory system with multiple CPUs, each with multiple cores, to
accelerate pagerank computation. If the NUMA architecture of the system is properly taken
into account with good vertex partitioning, the speedup can be significant. To take steps in
this direction, experiments are conducted to implement pagerank in OpenMP using two
different approaches, uniform and hybrid. The uniform approach runs all primitives required
for pagerank in OpenMP mode (with multiple threads). On the other hand, the hybrid
approach runs certain primitives in sequential mode (i.e., sumAt, multiply).

Data Centers - Striving Within A Narrow Range - Research Report - MCG - May 2...pchutichetpong
M Capital Group (“MCG”) expects to see demand and the changing evolution of supply, facilitated through institutional investment rotation out of offices and into work from home (“WFH”), while the ever-expanding need for data storage as global internet usage expands, with experts predicting 5.3 billion users by 2023. These market factors will be underpinned by technological changes, such as progressing cloud services and edge sites, allowing the industry to see strong expected annual growth of 13% over the next 4 years.
Whilst competitive headwinds remain, represented through the recent second bankruptcy filing of Sungard, which blames “COVID-19 and other macroeconomic trends including delayed customer spending decisions, insourcing and reductions in IT spending, energy inflation and reduction in demand for certain services”, the industry has seen key adjustments, where MCG believes that engineering cost management and technological innovation will be paramount to success.
MCG reports that the more favorable market conditions expected over the next few years, helped by the winding down of pandemic restrictions and a hybrid working environment will be driving market momentum forward. The continuous injection of capital by alternative investment firms, as well as the growing infrastructural investment from cloud service providers and social media companies, whose revenues are expected to grow over 3.6x larger by value in 2026, will likely help propel center provision and innovation. These factors paint a promising picture for the industry players that offset rising input costs and adapt to new technologies.
According to M Capital Group: “Specifically, the long-term cost-saving opportunities available from the rise of remote managing will likely aid value growth for the industry. Through margin optimization and further availability of capital for reinvestment, strong players will maintain their competitive foothold, while weaker players exit the market to balance supply and demand.”
