This document discusses several challenges posed by globalization and their implications. It outlines four major challenges: 1) ensuring globalization's benefits extend to all countries, 2) dealing with instability fears, 3) addressing competition fears leading to lower wages/rights, and 4) not using globalization as an excuse to avoid cooperation. Civil society groups will need to broaden their agendas beyond aid to address more complex issues. Governments will need to work with civil society in new ways. Multilateral institutions will need to address participation and transparency issues. High-level political discussions among global leaders are also needed.
