John Birks Dizzy Gillespie, along with Charlie Parker, ushered in the era of Be
Bop in the American jazz tradition. He was born Cheraw, South Carolina, and was
the youngest of nine children. He began playing piano at the age of four and
received a music scholarship to the Laurinburg Institute in North Carolina. Most
noted for his trademark swollen cheeks , Gillespie admitted to copying the style of
trumpeter Roy Eldridge early in his career.
He replaced Eldridge in the Teddy Hill Band after Eldridge s departure. He
eventually began experimenting and creating his own style which would eventually

Diffusion of Responsibility. They conducted this study to figure out how would
people react in various group sizes in an emergency situation. As well as which one

multiple times and finally was killed in her own neighborhood and no one intervened.

soccer. Soccer has been my obsession since I was very little and is important to me

old. I was playing YMCA soccer in my small town of about 9,000 people, also

was going to make in my life. As the years went on, I never played another sport
simply because I had no desire to. Once I finished with YMCA soccer, I moved
onto a local team that did not last but a year. After that door closed another one soon
opened. A man from St. Louis who had just recently moved to Boonville became
close friends with our high schoolsoccer coach. As their friendship developed, they
decided to compose a league, which was soon named Boonville Soccer Academy
(BSA). I went to the tryouts when I was about 10 years old. After making the
team, I realized that joining this league was the best decision I had ever made.
Although we lost almost every game for our first two years, we finally started

movements, and the way that the dancers interacted. I believe that the first
function elements that were used worked well. I believe that if the chorographer
was wanting to get the audience to think of or reflect upon relationships then all of

Abstract
Background and aim: The prevalence of sub clinical hypothyroidism (SCHT) is
relatively high and ranges from 4% to 20% in the adult population with more
common in elderly. Elderly with SCHT had higher risk of incident heart failure. Few
studies reported the prevalence of thyroid dysfunction in elderly Egyptians especially
ischemic group. The aim of our study was to estimate the prevalence of Subclinical
hypothyroidism in elderly cardiac patients and to assess the relation between
cardiovascular risk and thyroid function in elderly.
Methods: cross sectional study included 45 elderly Egyptian patients with
cardiovascular disease and 45 healthy elderly subjects as controls. Cardiac patients
were subdivided to ischemic (n=23) and hypertensive groups (n=22). Serum level of
FT4, FT3, TSH, lipid profile, fasting blood glucose were measured. Also
Electrocardiogram (ECG) and Cardiac catheterization were done in cardiology
department of Zagazig University Hospitals to elective patients.
Results: our results shows that were statistically significant higher levels of thyroid
stimulating hormone (TSH), lipid profile, systolic and diastolic blood pressure in
case group compared with control group. There were statistically significant higher
levels of TSH in ischemic cardiac group compared with hypertensive cardiac group (p
0.05).
Conclusion: In this study, the prevalence of subclinical hypothyroidism in all cardiac
group was (22%); in ischemic group (26%) and in hypertensive

Multiple myeloma is a haematological malignancy characterized by clonal
proliferation of malignant plasma cell in the bone marrow with diffuse bony
involvement. The spine is the most common skeletal site being involved. This case
report describes a multiple myeloma patient presented with spinal cord compression
and illustrates the aspects of differential diagnosis, the use of laboratory and imaging
for diagnosis.
Introduction
Multiple myeloma accounts for 1% of all malignancies and 10% of haematological
malignancies. Ninety eight percent of cases occur over the age of 40 years with the
median age of diagnosis at 66 years old.
Multiple myeloma is characterized by plasma cell accumulation in the bone marrow
commonly localized in the spine. 80 90% of patients develop myeloma bone disease
at some stage of their disease. Myeloma bone disease associated morbidities include
bone pain, pathological fractures, spinal cord compression and hypercalcaemia. Bony
lesion in myeloma is lytic in nature and pathological fracture is a frequent
complication. Spinal cord compression is a complication of pathological fracture of
spinal column or extension of vertebral body myeloma lesion. Imaging techniques are
essential to identify the extent of intramedullary and extramedullary foci, and to
evaluate disease progression. A multidisciplinary approach is needed in the
management of spinal involvement in multiple myeloma.
