existed in the form of the eugenics movement since Sir Francis Galton published his
book Hereditary Genius in 1869. Galton s research suggested that intelligence is

down generation through generation. His research further suggested that personality

coined by Galton in 1883, advocated for human breeding restrictions so as to

In recent years educational institutions have been targeted by active shooters. The
threat of an assailant entering an academic environment has compelled law
enforcement agencies and educational institutions to revise their tactical responses.

will cover the safety programs schools have implemented to safeguard their students
and staff. The third paragraph will cover the tactics and fundamentals officers have

of surviving. According to the New York City Police Department report on active
shooters, 46% of active shooters are stopped by law enforcement officials, or other

(NYPD, 2011) Police departments nationwide are training their officers to confront
the active shooters quickly and as aggressively as possible. (Cain, 2010) Police
departments have begun introducing various tactics in concealment, entering

the assailant. Police agencies have been working closely with their local schools to
avoid future massacres. Many police agencies have implemented various approaches

agencies have introduced live fire scenarios using artificial projectiles, and the use of

Throughout The Metamorphosis we learn about a character named Gregor and
everything he has going on with him, his thoughts, with relationships, his physical
and mental limitations, and the overall situation he s been so unfortunate to be a
part of. Gregor has a lot going on now that he s transformed so i ll cover everything i
m able to.
To start the biggest change is obviously that he is now a man sized bug. When he
wakes up, he isn t understanding of how this new body works, Gregor doesn t have
any way of already knowing so he has to figure out the functions of this body
himself. Everything seems to be an absolute struggle for Gregor, even the simplest
tasks evidenced by examples such as At first he wanted to get out of bed with the
lower part of his body, but this lower part (which he incidentally had not yet looked
at and which he also couldn t picture clearly) proved itself being too difficult to
