Classical Music And The Romantic Era
Beginning circa 1820, and ending around 1910 (Paterson, 2017), the Romantic period followed the
Classical era, marking the introduction of many changes to the overall sound and composition of
music. The increased use of large orchestras, combined with the use of chromaticism and modulations,
expressional devices such as dynamics, and sweeping melodies, led to a large amount of emotion
being conveyed in pieces of music. An example featuring many of these techniques and features is
Chopin s Nocturne in E flat major, Op. 9 , No. 2, which was published in 1832 (AllMusic, 2017). 20th
Century music, commonly referred to as contemporary music, followed the end of the Romantic
period. The rise of popular music forms such as jazz, blues, and rock led to a large change in approach
for the neoclassical composers, leading many into an avant garde approach, such as John Cage. The
introduction of electric amplification changed the overall sound of music, with new instruments being
invented, as well as possibilities for foreign objects to be amplified. Classical Gas , by Mason
Williams (1968), was written for classical guitar, as Williams felt there was a limited classical guitar
repertoire, particularly amongst the popular music of the 1960s. Thus, he wrote Classical Gas, a piece
inspired by the Classical era, but involving more modern instrumentation and a contemporary flavour
(Williams, 2013).
Nocturne Opus 9 No. 2 (for solo piano) is written in the form AABABAC, with B

Similarities Between FAT32 And NTFS
NFTS vs FAT 32
New Technology File System is a proprietary file system, File Allocation Table 32 is a computer file
system architecture. These two are very alike in some ways and very different in others. NTFS is
newer and has a lot more storage but FAT32 is has better security and still works even if Windows is
opened incorrectly. The purpose of this essay is to compare and contrast FAT32 and NTFS.
NTFS is a proprietary file system which means it is a file format of a business or person that contains
data that is stored according to a certain encoding scheme, designed by the business to be secret, so
that only the company that stored the data can see the data with software that they have developed.
NTFS has a max volume size of 264 clusters and the max number of files is 4,294,967,295 files.
NTFS is used to store and retrieve files on a hard disk. NTFS offers improvements from FAT and
HPFS in performance, extendibility, and security.
FAT32 is an older file system so it isn t as efficient but it has more compatibility with other OS s. It is
the oldest of the three file systems available for Windows and most flash drives are formatted with
FAT32. FAT32 is used as a data recovery system and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of the reasons that they are the same is they are both proprietary file systems. This means that
they both format files that contain encrypted data so that only the people that encrypted it can see it.
They both support Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Server, Windows Vista, and
Windows 7. They both have a limit of 255 characters for a file name. They also have many differences
including max volume size, max files on volume, max file size, max number of clusters, etc. NTFS
has many things that FAT32 doesn t, including alternate streams, compression, encryption, object
permissions, disk quotas, sparse files, reparse points, volume mount points, built in security, and

Ellen Foster, Lord Of The Flies, And To Kill A Mockingbird
This world is full of inspiring, thoughtful, and hardworking people. Its full of crises and hard life
decisions people make everyday. The books Ellen Foster, Lord of the Flies, and To Kill a Mockingbird
all capture these qualities of humankind. They are full of savagery, plane crashes, racial issues, child
abuse, and perseverance. All three novels connect by how tenacious people are when they are required
to overcome adversity.
In Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, there is a plane crash which abandoned a large amount of
boys with no parental guidance on an island stranded. The boys struggled to survive through the whole
book. The boys are desperate to eat something other than fruit, so they try and try to kill a pig, but
have a of trouble with it. These boys though did not give up. They surrounded the covert but the sow
got away with the sting of another spear in her flank. The trailing butts hindered her and the sharp,
cross cut points were a torment. She blundered into a tree, forcing a spear still deeper; and after that
any of the hunters could follow her easily by the drops of vivid blood .(Golding 196?) This quote
shows how determined the boys were to get meat. This scene was known as the rape scene because the
boys wanted to kill a pig so bad for the meat and the power. This book displayed the ability that boys
could survive on their own even though there might have been some major conflicts they had to face.

Cultural Communication Differences Between Cuba and India
Cultural Communication Differences Between Cuba India Every culture develops in two ways, first
by insular forces which shape the every day interactions between people of the same cultural values,
and second by the influences put upon them from outside sources. Two countries with very little
proximity to each other, and very little shared interaction, have developed their own unique styles that
are radically different than the other. Cuba and India are two countries that have been heavily
influenced by outside sources, by the practice of colonization by the European powers. In addition to
this, both countries have followed a course of independent thinking in world politics. Cuba is an island
nation with a Communist government that has little to do with the massive Asian country of India,
with over a billion residents and centuries of unique history and religious practices. India is a country
that has always been influenced by cultures around it, the Muslim invaders from the West, the Chinese
Buddhists from the East, and the European colonial powers from the Sea. (Difference, 2011) It is the
second largest country by population in the world, and has a bustling economy and a liberal
democracy for government. Time is fast in India, and getting faster. In cities like Mumbai, where
century old neighborhoods are being torn up for new construction, and massive projects are underway
to modernize the country, there is a spirit of revival and youth that drives the country

Thomas Hobbes And The Political Philosophy
Thomas Hobbes was, as we know, a 17th century British philosopher. We learn in this module that
Hobbes was the creator of the political philosophy known as social contract theory and that he was
also an egoist. By the revelation of the latter one could easily infer, before diving deeper, that this
philosophical theory is based on the inherent selfishness of man. This assumption would, of course, be
correct. Hobbes believed that all of mankind is inherently selfish and that to obtain a peaceful and
civilized society we had to give up those base desires in the name of security. The idea being that I
give up my right to murder my neighbor so that my neighbor is not allowed to murder me. You give
up your right to do things that could possible harm other people so that other people do not harm you
doing those same things.
Hobbes argued that, without an authority to enforce this social contract, man would revert to a State of
Nature in which there would be no place for industry, because the fruit thereof is uncertain; and
consequently no culture of the earth; no navigation, nor use of the commodities that may be imported
by Sea; no commodious Building; no Instruments of moving and removing such things as require
much force; no Knowledge of the face of the Earth; no account of Time; no Arts; no Letters; and
which is worst of all, continual fear, and danger of violent death; And the life of man, solitary, poor,
nasty, brutish, and short . People will murder, lie, and steal

Is The Effect Of Long-Term Negative Effects Of Divorce On...
Section 1: Introduction
He it to me be There is still a great debate on whether or not single parenting and divorce will affect a
child s development throughout their life. In the United States 43% 50% of many first marriages end
in divorce and 50% of American children will experience their parents divorce. Most parents always
ask themselves before they divorce if they should stay together because of their child, in some way
they perceive that negative situations will come to the child if they divorce. There has been a debate
between two sides of the coin, one side says that divorce carries a long term negative effect on
children .The other side says that there is not a negative long term effect ... Show more content on

On Children ages 6 12, parental divorce can negatively impact education. This age group is still in
what psychologists call the magical thinking stage; which means they usually are very optimistic and
wishful that their parents will get back together. The children of ages 6 12 feel responsible for the
separation of their parents but can also feel it s their duty to reconcile their parents back together; they
cannot fathom the idea of their parents who belong to them in a sense not living together. When
parents divorce their teen s attitudes about sexual behavior changes, teens chances of premarital sex
and thoughts about divorce rises while thoughts about marriage is reduced. American and British
studies displayed that teen daughters of divorced parents will be highly likely to endorse premarital
sex and have early sexual intercourse outside of marriage. In recent studies it has shown that the rate
of virginity among teenagers is highly correlated with the presence or absence of married parents.
Usually when a divorce happens the teen goes to live with the mother but because of the divorce the
mother typically has to switch to working

Introduction. Anyone Who Has Ever Made And Broken A New
Introduction
Anyone who has ever made and broken a New Year s Resolution can appreciate the difficulty of
behavior change. Making a lasting change in behavior is rarely a simple process, and usually involves
a substantial commitment of time, effort, and emotion. Every year, much of the energy the U.S.
consumes is wasted costing businesses money and leading to increased carbon pollution. Energy
efficiency is one of the easiest and most cost effective ways to combat climate change, clean the air
we breathe and improve the competitiveness while reducing the operational costs to businesses.
Specifically, one organization can reduce costs by up to ten thousand dollars annually by becoming
energy efficient. Yet, convincing corporate culture ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although it is a clear advantage, achieving energy efficiency for budgetary reason will not engage
employees to participate. To educate employees on the need to conserve energy throughout the office,
it is vital to engage them as partners. The energy used to power the offices result in half of our nation s
greenhouse gas emissions. We have the largest opportunity to save energy, money, and protect the
environment by increasing energy efficiency within the office space. Ultimately, becoming energy
efficient results in saving the American businesses more than $500 billion a year in avoided energy
costs (Unkown, 2012), avoiding other cost cutting measures.
Information and advice are not enough, behavioral changes must happen though contextual factors
such as habits and routines. The theories of change support interventions by describing how behaviors
develop and change over time. Operant conditioning based on a reward system or positive
reinforcement is easily implemental within a corporate environment. For example, all employees who
enable hibernation mode on their office desktops during off peak hours, reducing energy consumption
of ten percent while idle, will be permitted to leave ten minutes prior to their normal shift end. This
not only rewards the employee with an addition hour weekly of paid time off but save on energy
consumption during that time as well. In addition to a reward based

Mr. Pirzada s Cultural Identity
Throughout Lahiri s narrative, a Bengali man named Mr. Pirzada comes to eat with Lillia and her
family. As the story progresses, and Mr. Pirzada becomes especially significant to the little girl, and
his presence allows Lillia to realize and understand her cultural identity as an Indian American.
Pumpkins, leading up to and on the night of Halloween, are symbolic for cultural identity in this short
story.
Upon an unspecified day in October, Mr. Pirzada notices pumpkins distributed throughout Lillia s
neighborhood. Asking Lillia about the alien vegetables, Mr. Pirzada has never seen them before. The
next day, Lillia s mother buys a ten pound pumpkin. When she tells Lillia to decorate it with a marker,

Pirzada agrees with the girl; Asking no questions, he walked into the kitchen, opened a drawer, and
returned, bearing a long serrated knife. He glanced at me for approval (35). Instructing Mr. Pirzada on
how to create a proper jack o lantern, Lillia observes that he is able to carve well. During the creation
process of the jack o lantern, news concerning Dacca, Mr. Pirzada s hometown and the dwelling of his
family, appears on the television. Slipping from his hand, the knife makes a gash, ruining the
otherwise perfect pumpkin. When Mr. Pirzada carves the jack o lantern, it is as if he is simulating
what it is like to be an average American, something which he is not, by creating a jack o lantern, a
quintessential part of American Halloween. When he is reminded of his true identity, of Dacca and of
Bangladesh, his otherwise perfect pumpkin becomes blemished. This occurrence represents how one
cannot deny their identity, that it is a part of them which affects the way in which they act and the
feelings that they feel. For Lillia, a perfect jack o lantern represents an average American, and when a
non American screws up the carving process, this shows that one cannot take up an identity which is
not their

Legislative Impact On Gifted Education
During the collection and revision process of acquiring information there were several discoveries
made that were evident that a lack of financial support in developing gifted students was happening
and also more emphasis is being placed on lower achieving students. The government has allowed for
more freedom for states and communities which allows each states and school districts flexibility in
how they use federal education funds (Beisser 2008). This flexibility allows districts to use their funds
for their needs whether it is hiring new teachers, increasing teacher pay, or improving training for
teachers (Beisser 2008). However, most schools in their desperate zest to improve test scores for
struggling students overlook those who exceed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay Silver Linings Playbook Review
SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK REVIEW Everyone has quirks that make him or her an individual.
We filter through life, attempting to seamlessly weave our oddities into a normal person. As difficult
as trying to fit circles into squares, the silver lining in these valiant attempts is that the normal person
doesn t exist. That is what writer director David O. Russell understood when making The Silver
Linings Playbook, The film is a fantastic study in how our individual quirks, though varying in degree,
have the ability to render all of us completely insane. The film focuses on disgraced former
schoolteacher Pat Solitano (Bradley Cooper) as he attempts to reinvent himself using life s silver
linings. The film begins when Solitano is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film is obviously based on a novel. The dialogue, setting and subtle incongruities lend itself to
pen and paper as opposed to a movie theatre. It needs a novel s freedom to slowly develop characters.
The dialogue between Cooper and Lawrence feels ridiculous when your reality has only been
suspended for the film s 122 minute run time. However, this is not the fault of either actor. In fact,
Lawrence is stellar as the blunt, widowed sex addict who refuses to allow Pat to pretend that his
relationship with is ex wife is salvageable. In fact, Tiffany becomes Pat s reason even though she is
just insane as he is. The humor and sexual tension between the actors is palpable despite sappy,
unrealistic lines such as Pat s love confession: The only way to beat my crazy was by doing something
even crazier. Thank you. I love you. I knew it from the moment I saw you. I m sorry it took me so
long to catch up. The catalyst in the story is not, in fact, Pat s mental illness, so much as his father s
own problems. Robert De Neiro is stupendous as an aging Eagles fan that refuses to give up on his
idea of normal. Solitano Sr. is the antagonist; frequently begging Pat to abandon his silver linings and
conform to Solitano Sr s own demented ideas. The tension between Cooper and De Neiro is amazing.
The most realistic aspect of the entire film is when

Slavery and Abolition Essay
The term slave is defined as a person held in servitude as the chattel of another, or one that is
completely passive to a dominating influence. The most well known cases of slavery occurred during
the settling of the United States of America. From 1619 until July 1st 1928 slavery was allowed within
our country. Slavery abolitionists attempted to end slavery, which at some point; they were successful
at doing so. This paper will take the reader a lot of different directions, it will look at slavery in a legal

The stories always started out with them being with their families and then they got split up because
they were sold into slavery. By the late 1850s, many abolitionists attacked slavery because it enforced
dependence upon slaves, not for the poor conditions the slaves lived in. Security was the most
important consideration of slave ownership because slaves represented a highly valuable but risky
asset. Maintaining extended families with young children and elders suppressed the likelihood of
runaways. Breaking up families, in contrast, encouraged runaways (Thornton, Yanochik, and Ewing,
2009). Thornton, Yanochik, and Ewing mentioned that the desire to minimize security costs and the
losses resulting from runaways gave owners an incentive to encourage strong family ties and to avoid
breaking up the family units under their ownership and control. A strong family unit not facing the
threat of family members are sold would be more content and less likely to run away (Thornton,
Yanochik, and Ewing, 2009).
According to the three writers above, slaves who were sold away from their families exhibited a
pronounced propensity to run away from their new owners. Finding themselves on a new plantation
with no friends and relatives, they naturally thought about running away to reunite themselves with
their friends and family (Thornton,

The Field By John Keane
The Field is a story written by John Keane and is about a farmer who is very poor and owns a piece of

Mccabe is pushed into a very uncomfortable situation in which his desperation gets the best of him,
which ultimately leads to his involvement in a murder. A question arises from this man s predicament:
Were his actions acceptable? Just because someone becomes helplessly desperate, doesn t mean that
they must commit murder in order to fulfill their temporary desires. I believe that what Bull Maccabe
has done was a result pure desperation which was not in any way justifiable. Murder is a line that
should never be crossed except in particular circumstances. Ethically, it wouldn t be feasible to argue
taking someone s life unless it is to defend your own. The idea of murder is concept that globally, is
well understood as undeniably wrong. It should only be used as a last resort or self defense, as in the
act of war. Only in these situations would killing someone be an option. Not only are these cases ones
where you can no guilt afterwards, but you wouldn t even face the repercussions. Bull is so frustrated

Home Vs. Concrete Wall Home
In truth, a concrete wall house is substantially warmer than stick built construction. Advanced
technology ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) homes are actually much warmer than traditional stud wall
construction, as well as being far more energy efficient. Here are the facts. Thermographic tests done
by the National Association of Home Builders Research Center showed that a solid ICF wall (a wall
without windows or other penetrations) has fewer cold spots than a wood framed wall. This is because
the thermal envelope the shield between outside and inside temperatures is much more difficult to seal
in conventional stud wall construction, so that cold easily travels through thermal bridging to create
uncomfortable cold spots inside the house. ICF walls, by contrast, are tightly sealed so that thermal
bridging is reduced, which makes for even temperatures and fewer cold spots and drafts. Moreover,
houses with ICF wall construction result in a 50% decrease in the capacity of HVAC equipment as
compared to wood framed wall construction (which of course implies greatly reduced heating and
cooling costs).
How does ICF construction accomplish this? Concrete form insulation is constructed of blocks of
parallel slabs of expanded polystyrene foam. These blocks are stacked up and snap together like

Every Time after your done cutting hay, you have a lot left to do. First of all, you have to pressure
wash it off. With going through all of those gopher mounds, the haybine gets really jammed packed
with hard dirt and clay and rocks. This by itself takes at least an hour to get done because there is hay
in all the nooks and crannies of the haybine also, so you have to find the hay and try to blow it out.
This is actually a lot harder than it sounds, just take my word for it. Once you are one step closer to
being done, you have to fold the haybine in and park it in the machinery lot. Now folding it in with
two people is quite simple. But when you only have yourself to try and fold it in, it becomes about
100% harder. There is a rop you have to pull and it is spring loaded, so you have to quickly pull the
rope, sprint onto the tractor, and back onto the block that you place benefit the tire of the haybine.
Like I said before, a lot harder than it may seem. After you try for the 5th time to run fast enough to
the tractor and back into the block, you finally get the haybine folded in. You can go park it in the

Once you re all fueled up for the next time you need the tractor, you can finally go back the tractor in

Pennies Should Be Eliminated Essay
Find a penny, pick it up, all day long you ll have good luck. This commonly used saying is being
valued less and less as the days progress. On a daily basis, thousands of people walk down the streets
of busy cities. Today the majority of people state that when they pass by a penny on the ground, they
don t stop to pick it up. Due to this and many other reasons penny production should cease. In society,
other countries have chosen to withdraw their coins, pennies lack circulation, and they are costly to
produce, leading us, as a nation, to lean towards the decision of stopping their production.
Each day, around the world, countries and governments choose to make changes daily, leading citizens
to believe that the use of the penny could easily be abolished. Back in the 1800 s, America partook in
the use of a half cent. In 1857, the government decided that it was too much of a nuisance and was not
used often enough. As a nation, we chose to stop its production. After its eradication, there was no
record of the people struggling to adjust to its disappearance. Citizens were able to continue making ...

receive these pennies, they often feel that they will only bring extra weight and clutter into their

penny left in a change jar is very likely to be left untouched. Items don t cost only one cent! These
pennies will then sit in this change jar for months or even years, until someone decides to donate or

Unit 2 Assignment 2: Microsoft Environment Analysis
Learning Objectives and Outcomes
You will learn how to analyze a mixed version Microsoft Windows environment and to identify the
issues described in Microsoft Security Advisories.
Assignment Requirements
You are reviewing the security status for a small Microsoft workgroup LAN. The workgroup contains
many distinct separations in the network as determined by group memberships. The network consists
of computers working on a variety of client platforms, such as Windows XP, Windows Vista, and
Windows 7, and server products in a single environment. An example of the network divisions is as
follows:
Windows laptops: Traveling salespeople, remote suppliers, branch offices
Windows desktops: Accounting group, developer group, customer service group
Windows servers: Administrative server, Microsoft SharePoint server, Server Message Block (SMB)
server
Microsoft Common Vulnerability and Exposures (CVEs) are addressed through security advisories

Wireless Sensor Networks Is Growing Rapidly Over The Few...
1. Abstract: Wireless sensor networks is growing rapidly over the few decades. Due to its flexibility,
wireless sensor networks has been in practice in many areas. Among various wireless networks,
Mobile Ad hoc networks has been one of the unique network. Unlike other network architectures,
MANETs have no central architecture; every node is free to work both as a transmitter and receiver.
Every single node can communicate freely with every other node which is in their communication
range. Otherwise, it depends on neighboring nodes to relay messages. Due to this nature, MANETs are
used in many missionary applications like health care, military use and emergency recovery. However
the wide distribution of MANETs makes it vulnerable to malicious attacks. Hence it is necessary to
design a secure system for MANETs. In this paper we implement a secure system named Enhanced
Adaptive Acknowledgement especially for MANETs. To ensure higher security and reduce the
network overhead, we use a different approach called hybrid cryptography in our proposed scheme.
Enhanced Adaptive Acknowledgment detects higher malicious attackers without greatly disturbing the
network performances. We compare the differences within the Enhanced Adaptive Acknowledgment
before and after introducing the Hybrid cryptography approach
2. Introduction: The term MANET (Mobile Ad hoc Network) refers to a wireless network composed
of a set of mobile nodes that can communicate with other nodes without using a fixed

Persuasive Essay On Manus Island
According to settlement services international, Australia accepted 17,555 refugees in total in the 2015
2016 period. Although these people were simply entering Australia to flee prosecution in the country
from which they departed, many still saw it as a compromise to safety. This is not without reason
though; most of us will remember the Sydney siege in late 2014, in which a gunman held 18 people
hostage inside a Lindt cafe, or the Brighton siege just earlier this year in which a gunman killed a
receptionist at an apartment complex and took another woman hostage. There is no doubt about it:
national security, among other important things, is paramount. But this does not justify the current
state of the recently closed Manus island, or the atrocities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 2001, an offshore immigration centre was established on Manus Island as part of the Howard
Government s Pacific Solution, which aimed to respond to the rising number of boat arrivals. This
solution, which was only meant to serve temporarily, saw unauthorised vessels being intercepted in
the Pacific Ocean, usually by the Australian navy. The people on board the boat would be transferred
to offshore processing centres on Manus and Nauru island. These centres were closed in 2008, but
reopened in November, 2012 following a surge in asylum seekers arriving by boat. The processing
centres, as they were called, were ironic in name and problematic in nature. Considered by many news
outlets as the Guantanamo Bay of Australia, these centres accommodated detainees in poor living
conditions, and lacked in many important areas. In his article from published in The Sydney Morning
Herald Nauru and Manus Island are Australia s Guantanamo Bay , David Isaacs compared Australia s

accountability (limited information, no transparency), indefinite imprisonment without due process
(seemingly arbitrary legal processing, lack of clear end point to imprisonment) and severe physical
and mental maltreatment. Ultimately, these centres gave a reason for all Australians to be ashamed in
our government. Of course, wrongdoings could be found in all characteristics

The Development Of Bilingual Literacy Practices
During Phase 2, Moore and MacDonald focused their research on this research question: How is Halq
eméylem being revitalized within a British Columbia Aboriginal Head Start program where
Aboriginal teachers of the language are not themselves fluent in the language of instruction? In order
to answer this question, the researchers performed a series of observations and video recording over a
period of one year. This observations took place during various community events. The discussion of
the findings develops through a framework to understand the development of bilingual literacy
practices in a minoritized context. The authors found a blend of traditional Aboriginal practices with
contemporary teaching methodology. Elders and parents re appropriate their own ancestral language,
and reshaped the language classroom into a multilingual space for learning. Particular literacy
practices were found in the Stó:lō Head Start program where Halq eméylem was taught by reading
and attending the writing code while signing. These practices were enforced by aiming the parents to
reinforce Halq eméylem language and literacy practices at home. The authors conclude by stating the
importance of this study by challenging the existing hierarchies of knowledge and knowledge creation
through multiple languages wherever they occur and suggests directions in which we might
understand and make use of languages and multiple literacies as powerful resources for further
learning and as ways to

Essay on MADD, A Driving Force for Change
M.A.D.D. is a political interest group for all mothers against drunk driving. It was specifically created
for mothers of kids who have fallen victim to drunk drivers, whether it be in injury or in death.
Founded on September 5th 1980, M.A.D.D. has made a huge impact on the government today and an
even bigger impact on society. The idea of M.A.D.D. was first introduced by a mother, Candice
Lightner, who lost her thirteen year old daughter in a car accident killed by an intoxicated driver. She
took action and initiative after the loss of her daughter to help prevent drunk driving accidents so other
parents wouldn t have to go through the grief of the loss of a loved one, especially their son or

Driving is to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage
drinking was then the new mission of M.A.D.D. and is still used to this day. In the year 2000,
M.A.D.D. was nationally recognized for supporting the law that the legal limit of driving while
intoxicated should be lowered from .10 to .08. The law was passed in 2005 by congress all throughout
the United States, making the chance of an intoxicated person driving and injuring themselves or
others much lower. Also, as the result of lobbying and M.A.D.D. s efforts in changing the law, the
state of California also passed a law that enhanced the penalties and fines for re offenses of DUI
charges as well as prevented minors from purchasing alcohol. Five different bills have been signed to
add weight to the DUI charges, as well as prevent minors from obtaining fake ID s by cracking down
on security measures and rules in liquor stores. In the state of Rhode Island, M.A.D.D. is spreading the

Keda s Sap Implementation Process
Keda s SAP Implementation is the restructuring that the company needed to go through to expand and
be more productive with the products they were creating. At first the company had a lot of problems
with keeping track of inventory and how much a product cost to be made. The system they had could
not keep up with the growth of the company. They needed a new system or they would continue to
lose money fast. To start off they looked at where the system that they had went wrong. It was that fact
that the system didn t cover multi product production. This was killing them in the long run so they
decided they needed a change. They looked at 20 different management systems and had them all
come in to present their product. Keda also had them give reverences that proved that the product
worked. Keda used this as a learning opportunity to figure out what work and didn t with other
companies. They wanted a system that was customizable to their products and the system that they
wanted. There were nine systems that could work for their company they decided on SAP as the
winner. They then start to work their way through the system so that it would work with ever
department so everyone knew what their job was and who they need to work with to do it. They
created a management structure for each department, they then invited those heads to work with the IT
department to make the system able to talk between each department. The manager didn t like this at

Good Guys Always Win
Who had the more difficult choice? This question is very dependant on two important key factors. The
reader s values, and the reader s experiences. However, for me I believe that the choice made in Cover
ups was the more toilsome task. Although this may also be in part to the tone of the passages. The
reading peice Good Guys Always Win was much more juvenile and light minded, while Cover ups
had a contrasting, darker tone. The biggest conflict verbally noted in Good Guys Always Win was him
turning down money, a cute girl, and avoiding a bully who really all just wanted one small thing, with
lighthearted, exaggerated jokes made throughout, setting up a much friendlier tune, which diminishes

a negative outcome if release, despite the constant tugging at the back of your mind to tell someone,

that this secret had most likely been putting Mrs. Kittredge through. However, this doesn t mean I
believe that this was the best decision to make. Keeping a story with effects that great from a child

The Pros and Cons of the Neolithic Revolution Essay
Introduction
In the 1930 s, V. Gordon Childe proposed that the shift to food production was one of the two major
events in human history that improved the condition of human societies. Childe described the origins
of agriculture as a 哲eolithic Revolution. But the shift from hunting and gathering to food production
was not as advantageous to humanity as Childe believed. Although there were benefits, there were
also serious drawbacks, and humans paid a price for the advantages of agriculture.
The Neolithic, the period in history in which food production became widespread, began around
10,200 B.C, first appearing in Southwest Asia, and lasted until 4000 to 2200 B.C. The cultivation of
vegetables and domestication was becoming ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

communities could support some people as artists and priests. Catal Hyuk is an example of astounding

Metalurgy first made an appearance in Europe during the Neolithic. (Levack et al 2009:16)
Architecture improved and in many areas dwellings were made with sturdy supplies like stone and
brick. Some villages, particularly in Southwest Asia, were surrounded by impressive stone walls for
protection against enemies. (Leonard 1973:18)
Disadvantages of Food Production
Sanitation and Disease
People living in sedentary villages in the Neolithic experienced worsened health and mortality.
Sedentary life brought with it sanitation problems like garbage and human waste accumulate, which
contributed to disease. The close association between humans and animals was also key to the
transmission of many infectious diseases. Higher mortality rates were offset by increased fertility.
(Haviland et al 2011: 249) Dependence on the Environment
When humans turned to agriculture, they had to depend on the weather for crop production and a good
harvest, which did not always turn out to their favour. Neolithic farmers faced drought,

beautifully made one in particular that caught my attention was the Trigger Reflex. Elisha s

characteristics thus creating a symmetric biomechanical narrative. My eyes were drawn immediately
to this particular piece by Elisha called Trigger Reflex, because of its originality and use of handguns.

cast bronze compliments most everything and is a perfect look for any home or business. The form of

bronze gives it is lovely. I believe the focal point of Elisha s sculptures is the handguns, it really draws

Gender, Gender And The Media
This book was written in a clear style with lots of instances from Anglo American media, Gender and
the Media. It provides a critical introduction to the study of gender in the media and updated
assessment of the crucial issues and debates. The book looks in detail at five kinds of media: news,
advertising, talk shows, magazines and contemporary screen and paperback romances. It is examined
how presentations of female and male are changing in recent years. Gill asks how useful nations such
as objectification, backlash and positive images are for making sense of gender in today s western
media.
Gender and the Media asks some of the significant terminology that have been used to study gender in
media texts, since scholars and activists first engaged with media representations of gender. This book
aims to explore how the media today construct femininity, masculinity and gender relations.
Digital media and gender are different topics, but they have close connection in society. Digital media
is one of the main types of media, it can be created, viewed, distributed, modified on digital
electronics devices. It plays a significant role in society and culture, and also it can cause dramatic
influences on human s lives. Gender is usually seen as a socially determined difference based upon the
biological differences between the sex. These representations of media can influence the general

The purpose of this essay is to compare and contrast FAT32 and NTFS. NTFS is a proprietary file system which means it is a file format of a business or person that contains data that is stored according to a certain encoding scheme, designed by the business to be secret, so that only the company that stored the data can see the data with software that they have developed. NTFS offers improvements from FAT and HPFS in performance, extendibility, and security. FAT32 is an older file system so it isn t as efficient but it has more compatibility with other OS s. • 4. Ellen Foster, Lord Of The Flies, And To Kill A Mockingbird This world is full of inspiring, thoughtful, and hardworking people. Its full of crises and hard life decisions people make everyday. The books Ellen Foster, Lord of the Flies, and To Kill a Mockingbird all capture these qualities of humankind. They are full of savagery, plane crashes, racial issues, child abuse, and perseverance. All three novels connect by how tenacious people are when they are required to overcome adversity. In Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, there is a plane crash which abandoned a large amount of boys with no parental guidance on an island stranded. The boys struggled to survive through the whole book. The boys are desperate to eat something other than fruit, so they try and try to kill a pig, but have a of trouble with it. These boys though did not give up. They surrounded the covert but the sow got away with the sting of another spear in her flank. The trailing butts hindered her and the sharp, cross cut points were a torment. She blundered into a tree, forcing a spear still deeper; and after that any of the hunters could follow her easily by the drops of vivid blood .(Golding 196?) This quote shows how determined the boys were to get meat. This scene was known as the rape scene because the boys wanted to kill a pig so bad for the meat and the power. This book displayed the ability that boys could survive on their own even though there might have been some major conflicts they had to face. In Ellen Foster by Kaye Gibbons, Ellen Foster, ... Cultural Communication Differences Between Cuba and India Cultural Communication Differences Between Cuba India Every culture develops in two ways, first by insular forces which shape the every day interactions between people of the same cultural values, and second by the influences put upon them from outside sources. Two countries with very little proximity to each other, and very little shared interaction, have developed their own unique styles that are radically different than the other. Cuba and India are two countries that have been heavily influenced by outside sources, by the practice of colonization by the European powers. In addition to this, both countries have followed a course of independent thinking in world politics. Cuba is an island nation with a Communist government that has little to do with the massive Asian country of India, with over a billion residents and centuries of unique history and religious practices. India is a country that has always been influenced by cultures around it, the Muslim invaders from the West, the Chinese Buddhists from the East, and the European colonial powers from the Sea. • 6. Thomas Hobbes And The Political Philosophy Thomas Hobbes was, as we know, a 17th century British philosopher. We learn in this module that Hobbes was the creator of the political philosophy known as social contract theory and that he was also an egoist. By the revelation of the latter one could easily infer, before diving deeper, that this philosophical theory is based on the inherent selfishness of man. This assumption would, of course, be correct. Hobbes believed that all of mankind is inherently selfish and that to obtain a peaceful and civilized society we had to give up those base desires in the name of security. The idea being that I give up my right to murder my neighbor so that my neighbor is not allowed to murder me. You give up your right to do things that could possible harm other people so that other people do not harm you doing those same things. Hobbes argued that, without an authority to enforce this social contract, man would revert to a State of Nature in which there would be no place for industry, because the fruit thereof is uncertain; and consequently no culture of the earth; no navigation, nor use of the commodities that may be imported by Sea; no commodious Building; no Instruments of moving and removing such things as require much force; no Knowledge of the face of the Earth; no account of Time; no Arts; no Letters; and which is worst of all, continual fear, and danger of violent death; And the life of man, solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short . Making a lasting change in behavior is rarely a simple process, and usually involves a substantial commitment of time, effort, and emotion. Every year, much of the energy the U.S. consumes is wasted costing businesses money and leading to increased carbon pollution. However, this is not the fault of either actor. In fact, Lawrence is stellar as the blunt, widowed sex addict who refuses to allow Pat to pretend that his relationship with is ex wife is salvageable. By the late 1850s, many abolitionists attacked slavery because it enforced dependence upon slaves, not for the poor conditions the slaves lived in. Security was the most important consideration of slave ownership because slaves represented a highly valuable but risky asset. Maintaining extended families with young children and elders suppressed the likelihood of runaways. Breaking up families, in contrast, encouraged runaways (Thornton, Yanochik, and Ewing, 2009). Advanced technology ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) homes are actually much warmer than traditional stud wall construction, as well as being far more energy efficient. Here are the facts. Thermographic tests done by the National Association of Home Builders Research Center showed that a solid ICF wall (a wall without windows or other penetrations) has fewer cold spots than a wood framed wall. This is because the thermal envelope the shield between outside and inside temperatures is much more difficult to seal in conventional stud wall construction, so that cold easily travels through thermal bridging to create uncomfortable cold spots inside the house. ICF walls, by contrast, are tightly sealed so that thermal bridging is reduced, which makes for even temperatures and fewer cold spots and drafts. Moreover, houses with ICF wall construction result in a 50% decrease in the capacity of HVAC equipment as compared to wood framed wall construction (which of course implies greatly reduced heating and cooling costs). Due to its flexibility, wireless sensor networks has been in practice in many areas. Among various wireless networks, Mobile Ad hoc networks has been one of the unique network. Unlike other network architectures, MANETs have no central architecture; every node is free to work both as a transmitter and receiver. Every single node can communicate freely with every other node which is in their communication range. Otherwise, it depends on neighboring nodes to relay messages. Due to this nature, MANETs are used in many missionary applications like health care, military use and emergency recovery. However the wide distribution of MANETs makes it vulnerable to malicious attacks. Hence it is necessary to design a secure system for MANETs. In this paper we implement a secure system named Enhanced Adaptive Acknowledgement especially for MANETs. To ensure higher security and reduce the network overhead, we use a different approach called hybrid cryptography in our proposed scheme. Enhanced Adaptive Acknowledgment detects higher malicious attackers without greatly disturbing the network performances. We compare the differences within the Enhanced Adaptive Acknowledgment before and after introducing the Hybrid cryptography approach 2. Considered by many news outlets as the Guantanamo Bay of Australia, these centres accommodated detainees in poor living conditions, and lacked in many important areas. In his article from published in The Sydney Morning Herald Nauru and Manus Island are Australia s Guantanamo Bay , David Isaacs compared Australia s centres with America s in four aspects lack of due process for imprisoning people there, lack of accountability (limited information, no transparency), indefinite imprisonment without due process (seemingly arbitrary legal processing, lack of clear end point to imprisonment) and severe physical and mental maltreatment. Ultimately, these centres gave a reason for all Australians to be ashamed in our government. Of course, wrongdoings could be found in all characteristics ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 24. The Development Of Bilingual Literacy Practices During Phase 2, Moore and MacDonald focused their research on this research question: How is Halq eméylem being revitalized within a British Columbia Aboriginal Head Start program where Aboriginal teachers of the language are not themselves fluent in the language of instruction? In order to answer this question, the researchers performed a series of observations and video recording over a period of one year. This observations took place during various community events. The discussion of the findings develops through a framework to understand the development of bilingual literacy practices in a minoritized context. The authors found a blend of traditional Aboriginal practices with contemporary teaching methodology. Elders and parents re appropriate their own ancestral language, and reshaped the language classroom into a multilingual space for learning. Particular literacy practices were found in the Stó:lō Head Start program where Halq eméylem was taught by reading and attending the writing code while signing. These practices were enforced by aiming the parents to reinforce Halq eméylem language and literacy practices at home. The authors conclude by stating the importance of this study by challenging the existing hierarchies of knowledge and knowledge creation through multiple languages wherever they occur and suggests directions in which we might understand and make use of languages and multiple literacies as powerful resources for further learning and as ways to ... • 25. Essay on MADD, A Driving Force for Change M.A.D.D. is a political interest group for all mothers against drunk driving. It was specifically created for mothers of kids who have fallen victim to drunk drivers, whether it be in injury or in death. Founded on September 5th 1980, M.A.D.D. has made a huge impact on the government today and an even bigger impact on society. The idea of M.A.D.D. was first introduced by a mother, Candice Lightner, who lost her thirteen year old daughter in a car accident killed by an intoxicated driver. In the year 2000, M.A.D.D. was nationally recognized for supporting the law that the legal limit of driving while intoxicated should be lowered from .10 to .08. The law was passed in 2005 by congress all throughout the United States, making the chance of an intoxicated person driving and injuring themselves or others much lower. Also, as the result of lobbying and M.A.D.D. s efforts in changing the law, the state of California also passed a law that enhanced the penalties and fines for re offenses of DUI charges as well as prevented minors from purchasing alcohol. Five different bills have been signed to add weight to the DUI charges, as well as prevent minors from obtaining fake ID s by cracking down on security measures and rules in liquor stores. At first the company had a lot of problems with keeping track of inventory and how much a product cost to be made. The system they had could not keep up with the growth of the company. They needed a new system or they would continue to lose money fast. To start off they looked at where the system that they had went wrong. It was that fact that the system didn t cover multi product production. This was killing them in the long run so they decided they needed a change. They looked at 20 different management systems and had them all come in to present their product. Keda also had them give reverences that proved that the product worked. Keda used this as a learning opportunity to figure out what work and didn t with other companies. They wanted a system that was customizable to their products and the system that they wanted. There were nine systems that could work for their company they decided on SAP as the winner. They then start to work their way through the system so that it would work with ever department so everyone knew what their job was and who they need to work with to do it. They created a management structure for each department, they then invited those heads to work with the IT department to make the system able to talk between each department. However, for me I believe that the choice made in Cover ups was the more toilsome task. Although this may also be in part to the tone of the passages. The reading peice Good Guys Always Win was much more juvenile and light minded, while Cover ups had a contrasting, darker tone. The biggest conflict verbally noted in Good Guys Always Win was him turning down money, a cute girl, and avoiding a bully who really all just wanted one small thing, with lighthearted, exaggerated jokes made throughout, setting up a much friendlier tune, which diminishes the size and power of the conflict.
