The Influence Of J. S. Mill On Liberty
1) J.S MILL On Liberty
Mills take On liberty is similar to Huntington s argument on clash of civilization because mills
believe that society will always have diversity. The fact that people of different belief will co
exist but liberty and freedom of an individual is vital in keeping a society oppression free. In an
attempt to answer question One section C, I will discuss J.S Mill theory On liberty for an individual
and the society.
Mill believes in the individual and his freedom to exercise his rights a person so long it does not
harm others. That no one should be forced or pressured into doing things against their will and
not even society, forceful ruler ship and public opinions of other should interfere in an individual
s decisions. According Mill individual liberty is a good thing to major extent because he think it
is a means to protect citizens form illegitimate leadership. The citizens had Political liberty to
serve as a watch dog for the government in the case they abused their political power. The citizens
could impeach such leaders if they found guilty. This kind of liberty makes the political leaders
active and keep them on their toes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their government became their servants and will have do anything people wanted. This type of
system was the direct opposite of a tyrant government , an extreme form democracy where the
citizens make all the decisions. The government becomes a puppet with no opinion. The problem
with this system is that government is also made up people (less of the population) therefore the
majority becomes oppressive to the minority . This is what happen in the modern day society where
the majority imposes their standards on

Analysis Of We Wear The Mask By Chestnutt
African American literature from the Colonial era through Reconstruction shows how African
Americans were always treated differently and many of them had to either ignore the awful
things the white people said to them, or they had to hide behind a mask of someone everyone
tells them to be. One of these incidences of having to just ignore society was in the folktale
Member Youse a Nigger when John spend his days keeping quiet and doing only the things that
would set him free. While the story The Wife of His Youth by Charles Chestnutt and the poem We
Wear the Mask by Paul Laurence Dunbar were about the effects that society has on colored people.
Both stories showing how people feel it is okay to pretend to be someone that they aren t... Show

He speaks the truth of the things that people hide every day about themselves and put on a silly
mask that makes other think they are okay. The Blue Vein Society in Chestnuts story is about
black folk who want to be like the white people and have normal, wealthy and happy lives. But
after Liza Jane shows up every who was wearing a mask took their mask off for just that moment
and even the woman that Mr. Ryder was planning on marrying saw what really should have been
seen. Finally, after moments of waiting for change everything in both The wife of His Youth
and member youse a Nigger rapidly changed in the blink of an eye. Mr. Ryder s speech about a
woman who was faithful for twenty five years touched the hearts of not just his own but to
everyone who showed up to the ball. Also, as for John instead of him putting on a mask every
day and working hard to earn his freedom he finally got to take off his mask and embrace the
black man that he truly was by walking away from his now former

Mark Antony s Use Of Persuasion In Julius Caesar
Persuasion is often more effectual than force (Aesop). Nearly 600 years before the assassination
of Julius Caesar, the famous Greek fabulist Aesop knew the power of persuading others. From
then until now, persuasion is a huge part of everyday life. Examples of persuasion include
advertisements incall forms of media: books, billboards, and especially speeches. One of the most
celebrated speeches in literary history is the one given by Mark Antony at the funeral of Julius
Caesar in William Shakespeare s The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. The techniques that Antony uses are
the predominant reasons why his monologue resonated with his audience and why he was able to
turn the citizens against the murderers and Brutus. Antony s speech is an effective... Show more

Repetition is a powerful form of persuasion that reinforces the speaker s message by repeating
words, sentences, and information. This can influence the reader s attitude toward a particular
character or event. During Mark Antony s speech, he continuously exclaims, But Brutus says he
[Caesar] was ambitious, And Brutus is an honorable man... Yet Brutus says he [Caesar] was
ambitious,
And Brutus is an honorable man.
(III.ii.14,15,21,22)
Antony constantly reminds the crowd that Brutus was an honorable man while proving to the
people of Rome that Brutus was actually wrong about Caesar s ambition. This shows how Antony
s repetition as a form of sarcasm was so effective. He clearly states that Brutus is an honorable
man, but when he states this, he is simply mocking him and proving to the crowd that he, in fact, is
not an honorable man. Not only was Brutus wrong about Caesar in general, he was also wrong
about killing Caesar. Antony s speech states,
Did this in Caesar seem ambitious?
When that the poor have cried, Caesar hath wept;
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff.
Yet Brutus says he was ambitious;...
I thrice presented him a kingly

Monsieur Gillenormand
It is not until the end of the novel when Monsieur Gillenormand s true feelings are revealed. All
along it was Marius who made him a real man all along. The odd truth in this is the fact that a child
was able to reach through a much older man, he introduced love to Gillenormand, whom originally
possessed a minute lovein his heart. Gillenormand still views his adopted child as still young.
This view crushes his moral since Marius befalls as the embodiment of his life. Without him, he
suffers tragically. Gillenormand who once prized all his thirty two teeth and mighty cane lost the
use of the two. Now four years later he strikes, his cane with less animation and was, beginning to
lose his teeth, which added to his sadness (389 emphasis... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marius makes him ultimately realize that money is the least important. Gillenormand s original
intention was to leave Marius a vagabond until Marius returned to him and plead to return.
However, this was not the case. Marius, fully content with his way of life, made enough money,
lived the life he wanted, and discovered the love of his life. This challenged Gillenormand s own
views, a happy life with scarce money? What was this? Surely a new outlook of life, a sufficient
way to be happy. When he learns of this while Marius asks for permission to marry he is stupefied
and utters, That is it, twenty one, no business, twelve hundred livres a year (394). He fails to
realize that nothing is wrong with this lifestyle and should not prevent Cosette s and Marius s
Marriage.Throughout this conversation money constantly arises as a reason not to marry, another
challenge that Marius causes for Gillenormand. He cannot obviously see that marriage for Marius
is not about money, only love, an outlook that surely confuses him. If he had completely
understood Marius s true intentions he would not advise Marius to make Cosette his mistress of
course a mistress is not of pure intentions, not even love (397). Not until Marius leaves for what
seems indefinitely Gillenormand realizes how rude he was, which leaves him with a now empty
emotion. Within the time span of Marius s second absence it s evident that

We Wear The Mask By Paul Laurence Dunbar
Shapeshifting requires the ability to transcend your attachments, in particular your ego attachments
to identity and who you are. If you can get over your attachment to labeling yourself and your
cherishing of your identity, you can be virtually anybody. You can slip in and out of different
shells, even different animal forms or deity forms. Zeena Schreck, religious leader of the Sethian
Liberation Movement. In the poem We Wear the Maskby Paul Laurence Dunbarthe reader should
learn that individuals feel the need to wear a mask to change their personality into the more ideal
individual which surpasses their confidence, fear, insecurities, and emotions. This poem develops
the realities about self image and how it makes individuals act in society.
Initially, the poem opens with We wear the mask that grins and lies, it hides our cheeks and
shades our eyes (Dunbar, 1 2). The mask presents the truthful and untruthful sides of individuals.
The mask is also a work of craftiness as it forces the individual to appear happy, regardless of the
pain they may be feeling beneath the surface. Individuals that struggle with themselves wear a
mask to show everyone else that they are not struggling and have everything figured out. Just like
being in pain With torn and bleeding hearts we smile (Dunbar, 3). Individuals force smiles on their
faces to portray to others that they are happy no matter whats going on in their life.
However, this poem is also relevant to the Nobody

Forced Induction Debate
One of the most commonly used ways to give a vehicle more horsepower today is forced
induction. There are two different types of this forced induction, which brings us to Forced
Induction Debate. The conflict most people face when deciding what they would rather install on
their car is what is better, a turbocharger or a supercharger? Both turbochargers and superchargers
have advantages and disadvantages, some of which are similar. Choosing the right kind of forced
induction for your vehicle will depend upon your vehicle and your power preferences.
The first type of forced induction is the supercharger. A supercharger is mounted to the engine and
is driven by a pulley ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The smaller the turbocharger, the less lag is produced. When a supercharger is activated, there is
absolutely no lag at all because it is connected directly to the crank. This means that
superchargers are able to produce boost at very low levels of rpm, giving the engine more power
the whole time the supercharger is running. This is very important for those people who drive the
supercharged trucks that are heavier than most cars and are usually hauling heavy loads in the back
of the truck or on a trailer.
The turbocharger makes up for its lag with its ability to generate mass amounts of power to the
engine. Turbochargers take barely any power from the engine to create boost. Turbochargers
use the gas heat and engine pressure to create boost and give the engine more power. Most
turbochargers produce 40 percent more power to an engine. So if a vehicle had a 200
horsepower engine and was running off of a turbocharger producing 10 pounds of boost, the
engine would actually be running off of 280 horsepower. A supercharger produces mass amounts
of boost for the engine from the crankshaft of the engine itself to compress air and make boost.
While running, a supercharger uses valuable power from the engine which must be taken away
from the gain of power in the long run. A vehicle with and engine producing 200 horsepower and a
supercharger producing 10 pounds of boost would only make the vehicles total

Gay Marriage John Piper Analysis
This article by John Piper helped me to refocus on what matters most in the wake of the Supreme
Court decision on some sex marriage. I pray that it s some help to you too.
So Called Same Sex Marriage: Lamenting the New Calamity by John Piper
Jesus died so that heterosexual and homosexual sinners might be saved. Jesus created sexuality,
and has a clear will for how it is to be experienced in holiness and joy.
His will is that a man might leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and that the two
become one flesh (Mark 10:6 9). In this union, sexuality finds its God appointed meaning, whether
in personal physical unification, symbolic representation, sensual jubilation, or fruitful procreation.
For those who have forsaken God s path of sexual fulfillment, and walked into ... Show more

The new thing new for America, and new for history is not homosexuality. That brokenness has
been here since we were all broken in the fall of man. (And there is a great distinction between the
orientation and the act just like there is a great difference between my orientation to pride and the
act of boasting.)
What s new is not even the celebration and approval of homosexual sin. Homosexual behavior has
been exploited, and reveled in, and celebrated in art, for millennia. What s new is normalization and
institutionalization. This is the new calamity.
My main reason for writing is not to mount a political counter assault. I don t think that is the
calling of the church as such. My reason for writing is to help the church feel the sorrow of these
days. And the magnitude of the assault on God and his image in man.
Christians, more clearly than others, can see the tidal wave of pain that is on the way. Sin carries
in it its own misery: Men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due
penalty for their error (Romans

The South Asian Collection Of The Asian Art Museum
The South Asian collection of The Asian Art Museum, in gallery four, houses The Hindu Deity
Brahmani [Figure 1], originally from Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu state and is dated approximately
875 950 AD. The artist is unknown. Her dimensions are 29 X 21 X 10 inches. In Hinduism,
Brahmani is the shakti of the god Brahma, the creator of the universe and senior member of the
Hindu Trinity, and is one of the seven mother goddesses that may have been located in the temple
of her origin ( The Hindu Deity Brahmani ). The sculpture was created during the Chola Dynasty,
also known as the Golden Age of Tamil Culture, and carved from either granite or hornfels granite.
The Dravidian style of art and architecture attained brilliance under the Cholas, and the dynasty s
triumphs are considered the greatest in South Asia containing some of the most beautiful
masterpieces ever produced in India(Dehejia, 1990). This sculpture is an excellent representation of
this goddess, confirming that the artistic vision of the Chola dynasty is paramount in Indian art.
Equally as stunning, ornate temples were built to house sacred symbols to help Hindu devotees
comprehend the incomprehensible. The temple is considered the dwelling place of the deities
and sculptures of Hindu gods set there is a visual representation used to generate a sense of reality
of the invisible. The temples provided a space for worshippers to perform rituals, leave offerings,

Indian Ocean Tsunami On the date of December 27, 2004 something happened that nobody could
have imagined. One of the most devastating earthquake erupted under the ocean as it happened near
the Sumatra Island. The earthquake took place 6.2 miles under the water. The earthquake had a
high magnitude of 9.0 on a Richter scale which triggered a massive tsunami. Tsunamis are specific
in their origins and result from larger earthquakes. The tsunami that was caused by an earthquake
had an impact on many people and caused a lot of destruction that had to be fixed. A few minutes
after the earthquake, the water rose and the tsunami changed the world forever. (1)
Tsunami is a Japanese word that means harbor wave . Tsunamis are giant sea waves caused by
large scale and sudden disturbance of seawater. (1).The earthquake happened pretty close to
Indonesia, but the tsunami was strong enough to crash into many other countries. The waves
traveled all the distance of the Indian Ocean. In addition to Indonesia, the tsunami had killed people
in other countries such as Sri Lanka, Somalia, India, Thailand, Maldives, Malaysia, Myanmar,
Bangladesh, Tanzania, Kenya, and Seychelles. The scientists claimed that the tsunami was so
powerful that it raised the water a little bit in Florida and New Jersey. The countries that were on
the part of Southeast Asia were all devastated. The statistics show that in Thailand alone,

Parallel Plot Structure Of Wes Moore
Wes Moore written by Wes Moore published in April 27, 2010. Where it covers the
autobiography and a biography clash into what is called a parallel plot structure. Where a
juxtaposition is displayed. Of two young boys that are oddly similar but both end up with to
different fates. The book goes into great detail on how one became a convicted criminal serving
a life sentence and one a Rhodes Scholar. The purpose of Wes Moore writing his book is to
determine one s success. That being a Nurture vs Nature. I ll be debating how Wes s own diction,
experiences and his own writing demonstrates one s failure of success Wes own diction describes a
wide variety him expressing his own opinions in his Literature. Through his word selection we can

just can t hit people and particularly women. You must defend them not fight them.... My father
and I start for another 5 minutes before he led downstairs to apologize to my sister and my
mother. (page 11) This exposure to Wes further plays in later parts of his life. For example where
Wes was attack by a racist he chooses not to fight back because he has flashbacks to these
experiences. Of his early life and how people educated him to always be formable. The style that
Wes was taught shine in this, if you read through the book. The book doesn t mention of Wes
ever getting himself into fights. Thus pomp a glorious procession of Nurture conquering over
Nature in what determines success. Another instance where Wes is instructed to be more
courteous. It is said in the book and it reads you kids are way too young to be in this situation
but you know what I see kids like you every day If you don t get smart I am certain I will see you
again that s the sad part ... the cops gave us a gift and I swore I would never get caught in a
situation like that again (page 83 to 84). This experience Wes had is symbolic it shows his
outlook on the police. Where the other Wes Moore would find to view the police has an obstacle
for his business. Author Wes Moore would portray them as being cops. People who enforce crime
to those who have broken it. That s what exactly author Wes Moore has done and he understands
he has done wrong through that people have taught him. While other Wes Moore sees them has a
hurdle to make riches. Due to the drug game exposing and giving him the ideology he has to
dodge bullets and that s a daily activity for those in the game. This ties in with

Theoretical Approaches To Personality Analysis
While reading through chapter eleven of my psychology textbook, I discovered that the four
main theoretical approaches to personality include the psychodymanic approach, the triat
approach, the social congnitive approach, and lastly, the humanistic psychology approach. The
first theory the book establishes is the psychodymanic apporach, also known as Frued s Theory,
states that a person s personality is not due to a specific set of factors but rather that personality
is determined by many factors such as a human s drives for food, sex, aggression, ect., as well as a
person s unconscious processes, and a person s early childhood influences, most specifically a
person s parents or gaurdians. The psychodynamic apporoach states that personality... Show more

This scale, like many others, described my personality on what traits I self described myself as
being. After the conclusion of the personality test, the test described myslef as being a people
person, an open person, and a generally positive person. The test also depicted my weakness as
being to talkitive and too permissive, and my limitation as being failing to follow through on past
commitments and failure with self disipline. I also scored almost equally on the lion personlity
which means that while I am mostly an otter I also have very developed skills in leading. The trait
theory, I believe, is the easist way of desribing a person s personality because you do not have to
look into a person s past to determine why a person s personaity is the way it is but rather the
trait view just observes a person s personality. The trait theory though falls though because it does
not expain why people act the way they do or why they have prejudices. The social cognitive
approach argues that a person s persoanity is learned whether than inherit our personaities. This
follows through with some ideas in gender theory stating that a person s gender traits are also
learned by society than inherited. This also releates to Frued s theory of parent involvment in a
human s personality because a person s parents will be most around a child generally in that child s
early development which allows for that child to generally delevop the traits of their parents and
then hold on to those traits throughout their

Italy s Fascism
Italy s fascism had at least four principle changes. Until 1925, it was political action seeking an
ideology. Mussolini was many things, but he was not a man of religion because he could never
find one that could satisfy what he looked for in a religion. During this time, Italy was supposed
to be a powerful nation that used capitalistic ideas and the idea of forced union labor to earn
money. This was the time that people focused on economic growth of Italy by forming monopolies
and cartels. Alfred Rocco, a primary theoretician, said that a hierarchal arrangement of capitalism
had to be created because the support of the regimes would guarantee higher wages and
employment rates. The second phase focused of the electoral part of society or the voting... Show

These experiences make someone involved with other people and forms groups. As the groups
advance and do certain things whether good or bad, the actions of the group tell you a lot about
each individual because since the individual was a part of the group it means they approved the
actions of the group. The highest level of associations was the state or government. The state also
reflects the behaviors of its individual leader and its group of people so the same philosophy
applies. The state, the individual, and all human associations thus have life, conscience, and will to
achieve. That ties all three concepts together. If a man is separate from his state and people he will
surely fail and that was how he formed his concept of fascism, however, by the time he finished his
idea, fascism had fallen out of the government in Italy so it did not befit anyone at Italy, but it is
an excellent example of how different people ca form different ideas because Gentile did not see it
as one person was in complete control like Mussolini did, instead he saw how they all worked to
get to make a greater

Georgian Style In Colonial America
Georgian Design and the Beginnings of America The American Georgian style ruled American
design from about 1714 to 1830. The Georgian style was inspired by English and European styles
of the time, relied on classical elements, and took inspiration from the Italian Renaissance.
Georgian design was located mainly along the eastern seaboard, where the old styles gradually
gave way to the Georgian, and there came for the first time a large degree of uniformity to
American architecture(Wertenbaker, 1943, p. 66). Craftsmanship was a big part of early American
life, and people liked to show off their quality homes, eventually displaying their stations by
maintaining codes of dress, speech, and behavior (Architectural StyleGuide). Georgian American
design had many different influences while adapting to suit the settlers needs. There are several
beautiful examples of this style still intact today. While the Georgian American style was one of
the earliest styles in Colonial America, it actually preceded by a simpler style, and... Show more

Libanus Father
On the mother s side, the difference in upbringing also played a role in the two men s attachment
toward their mothers. Both men had fathers who faced an early death. Libanius mother was quite
lenient in raising her children: My mother was a nice woman and feared the dishonesty of
guardians and the litigation which would inevitably arise with them, and so she herself set out to
be all in all to us. In general, she succeeded very well by dint of her exertions, but though she paid
out fees to schoolmasters for us, she did not have the heart to get annoyed with her sleepyhead of a
son, for she thought it was a loving mothers part never never to upset her child.
Libanius mother was hands on. In fear and suspicion of other guardians, she was the type of
woman who believed she could do things on her own. She was all in all to Libanius, which
could be read either she took on all the roles as both father and mother or she was everything her
children. Being independent, was a trait Libanius acquired from his mother. This passage from
Libanius shows that his mother was quite over protective. Which again, may have been a push
factor for Libanius who sought a life that allowed him to get away from the protection of his
mother. And her lenience, only made it easier for him to break away. Saying... Show more content

Case Study Of CorkD
Cork d started as a seeming innovative social media powerhouse for wine lovers and producers.
However, its past owners did not feel they could effectively run the network. Wine appreciator,
Gary Vaynerchuk, bought the network because he wanted to build a community, one that was more
specialized than any other social media like Facebook for other wineworshipers like him. With this,
he could establish connections that join the wine consumers and the wine producers, such as
vineyards, to help others better connect with their passions. On a greater level, however,
Vaynerchuk also desired to connect those who love wine with the wineries that create it. Cork d
would allow this by incentivizing wineries, with a wine devoted base, to pay a sum of... Show more

The first of three issues the network was obligated to focus on was customer acquisition. The
growth of users, both individuals and wineries, on the network is what supported the growth of the
network and community. In fact, without the user base, there would be no growth of the network
and no revenue generation. It was evident that neither Vaynerchuk nor Ronga knew how to draw
individual users or wineries to the network and consistently reinforce growth in this area. In
particular, there was a lack of understanding of the growth relationship of individual users and
wineries such as balancing recruiting efforts and the ability to grow the two groups simultaneously.
Also, the resources that were used in the case of recruiting were heavily dedicated to recruiting
wineries and not even with individual users. Though, they had periods of strong user and winery
growth that were defined by the marketing strategies that they used. However, it was not enough in
drawing long term growth of the network. Thus, equivalent strategies surrounding individual users
and wineries should have been present in the Cork d case.
The ongoing method to recruit wineries and individual users alike did not involve appealing to their
customers. Many of the wineries hoped for metrics to understand the benefit that the network might
have for them. However, the network was unable to provide the data and therefore did not properly
incentivize wineries

The Role Of Jealousy In Othello
The Role of Jealousy in Othello.
The drama Othello , is well known, for the way Shakespeare was able to make the audience focus
on the destructive and corrupting power of jealousy.
The theme jealousy in the drama Othello causes the major problems for the characters in the story.
Jealousy in the story can be seen in two different views, which are:
a)The destructive power of sexual jealousy.
b)The jealousy of power and position.
Sexual jealousy was exhibited as one of the destructive factors of jealousy that leads to tragic
occasions for characters in the play. Othello was made to be sexually jealous by Iago about the way
Desdemona was cheating on him with Cassio. For instance, when Iago told Othello Well, there you

In the first seen, Iago shows of his jealously was right at the beginning of the play, he said Mere
prattle without practice is all his soldier ship. But he sir, had th election (Shakespeare.1.1.26 27).
This helps to show Iago s jealousy towards Cassio as he wanted to be the Lutenant to Othello, for
all his service he has done for Othello.
Also, Iago was jealous of Othello s relationship with Desdemona. For instance when Iago says It
cannot be that Desdemona should long continue her love to the Moor/She must change for youth
(Shakespeare 1.3.378 382). This quote furthers shows how Iago was jealous for Othello and
Desdemona s love. Desdemona is the daughter of a well respected Senate, and she is much known
for her beauty, and it seems like all the men in Venice in one way wanted to her as their wife, and
Othello, who is a moor cannot just marry Desdemona.
Furthermore, Iago was jealous of Othello from the fact that he hated him, even if he was given
the position or not. For instance where Iago said Though I do hate him as I do hell pains, yet,
for necessity of present life, I must show out a flag and sign of love which is indeed but sign
(Shakespeare (1.1.171 174). This quote helps to show how Iago will always hate Othello no matter

Goodnight Mr Tom Identity
Goodnight Mister Tom (1981), is a novel by Michelle Magorian. It follows the story of a boy
named Willie, who is evacuated from London to his new home of Little Weirworld. He lives with
a misanthropic old man named Thoman Oakely, here Mr. Tom takes in the role of a supporting
father figure and helps him grow and develop from the state his abusive mother left him in. Within
the text, Magorian presents the key idea that changes in a person s identity, positive or negative,
are complex, fluid and crucial to their very character. This is explored further with the ideas such
as; conflict shapes a person s identity; that all identity change a occur for a reason; and that a

During the book, characters such as Mister Tom change dramatically, we are shown through
their speech and actions that they change in order to fulfil a purpose. At the beginning of the
story, Mister Tom, a misanthropic old man, has a shy young boy, Will, put under his care.
Placed in a new and alien situation, he has to reciprocate, as he develops compassion and learns
to care for Will as well as taking on new roles and becoming more open. Magorian uses
characterisation to display to the reader Tom s progression, with points that are taken from
different stages of the book such as Eat up, I ain t got all day. , and I love you too, boy, he

needs. This is as his diction and tone have changed from harsh, rude and demanding, to caring
and loving. That clearly shows that his identity has changed in order to care for Willie. Very
early on we are shown he doesn t accept the inevitability of war and refuses to buy a gas mask,
however, soon after Willie arrives he purchases two gas masks in order to protect the boy, his
actions and morals being clearly shaped from very anti war to cautious in order to provide for
Willie. He later even volunteers for a role in protecting the town from fires,

The Air Pollution And The Water Pollution
Cancer it is one of those words that people whisper in hush tones behind closed doors. It s the
type of word that brings nothing but heartbreak. The second the words you have cancer are said,
the clock starts ticking away at the time you have left louder than an airhorn. Cancer uncovers
the fighters that have been hidden away. It is one of the worst battles to fight, because
ultimately it is already a battle lost. In 2012, 14.1 million people were diagnosed with cancer. In
that same year 8.2 million people died from it. There is predicted to be 23.6 million people
diagnosed with cancer each year by 2030. (CancerResearchUK) However, some countries suffer
more than others. China alone is responsible for 22% of new cancer cases and almost 27% of
global cancer deaths (CancerStatisticsinChina). Why is cancer such an issue here? Outside of
genetics, this is largely due to the country s polluted environments, specifically the air pollutionand
the water pollution. China began seeing an increase in cancer a few decades ago when their
industrial movement began. Pollution from the factories seem to be the leading cause of cancer in
the Chinese population. This is a major socioeconomic issue because in order to clean the
environment, factories would be forced to close or relocate. Initially, the Chinese government
denied that cancer was a byproduct of pollution. Although recently they were forced to
acknowledge its effect and has since been making an effort to clean their

The Bicycles Changed America Essay
The Bicycles Changed America
The great changes in American society that came with the introduction bicycle in the late 19th
century are often overshadowed by the influence of the automobile in the following decades. Today,
bicycles are often seen as an alternative mode of transportation a cleaner and more environmentally
conscious form of travel. Because of this, it may be difficult to realize the incredible modernizing
effects that bicycles had on American society when they were first introduced. Manufacturing and
marketing techniques introduced by the bicycle industry were massive steps towards modern
industrial practices. In addition, by making individual travel available to many people for the first
time, bicycles changed the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Drais de Savebrun was aware, however, of some of the important aspects of the draisine that
hinted at the future possibilities of bicycles: when roads are dry and firm it runs on a plain at the
rate of 8 to 9 miles an hour which is equal to a horse s gallop...[and] on descent it equals a horse at
full speed. (Smith, 1972, pp 4)
The next major development came with the acquisition of pedals. In 1855, the first bicycle with
pedals, the velocipede, was invented and became briefly popular when it was brought to the
United States. Because of the ride provided by its iron tires and wooden frame, the velocipede
became known as the Boneshaker. The excitement around the velocipede died off within a few
years, however, as it proved to be difficult to ride, expensive, and dangerous.
During the second half of the 19th century, most of the major improvements were made that
allowed for the invention of modern bicycles. An iron frame rather than a wooden one, rubber tires
(solid rubber, however), rubber coated pedals and steel rims were all developed during this time.
Although the new bicycles, known as Ordinaries, had one wheel much larger than the other, were
difficult to mount and dismount, had no brakes, and were expensive, they became much more
popular than any of the previous ancestral bicycles. They were promoted on the basis that they
provided exercise to the riders, and that they had

The Importance Of Small Business In America
Small businesses in America have existed since civilizations first settled, whether people traded
goods in the place of currency, or offered services and talents for money. Over the past 100 years,
the small businesses and entrepreneurs of America have evolved in ways no one could have
predicted. From the invention of the internet to the sliding scale that is the American economy,
small businesses have seen their times of great success and struggle alike. With the changing
culture, obstacles may morph into opportunities, and, conversely, opportunities can turn into
obstacles. The presence of social media is an opportunity for businesses today but an obstacle for
businesses of the early 20th century; demand was an opportunity for businessowners in the 20th
century but an obstacle today; and economic fluctuation is an obstacle found in both time periods.
Unlike small businesses in the early 20th century, small businesses today can greatly benefit from
social media platforms. Not only can businesses run their own pages online, they can pay for ads
that promote their product in a unique and novel way. For example, social media can allow a
smaller business to grow on their chosen platform (such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and
increase the amount of potential customers that view their product(s) or service(s). Everyday, there
is an abundance of advertisements uploaded and viewed on several varieties of social media
platforms and [b]ehind these staggering numbers is a

The Student That I Have Been Working With Over The Past...
The student that I have been working with over the past six weeks is Brad Concordia. Brad
attends Shiloh Hills Elementary School in the rural area of the Wilson School District. Brad is
a first grade student in Mrs. Detwiler s classroom who suffers from brain damage and
unfortunately he s dealt with it since he was born. Brad is an energetic, positive kid who loves
to tell stories and talk about PokГ©mon. He does not act up in class and he tends to be very
polite and well behaved. Whenever the teacher gives him an activity to do he tries his very best to
accomplish it without the help of an aid, but most times he is left with no choice due to his
condition.
A couple of Brad s strengths include being able to count dots 1 34 without any issues, and he is
able to comprehend the number of dots he counted and write it down for the answer. For basic
numbers such as 1 10, he is able to do it fully on his on and get all of the digits correct. For
numbers greater than 10, he is dependent on the help of one of the other teachers. His main
weakness in math is his lack of ability to do problems on his own. He relies on counting dots to
add up the numbers and my goal for him is for him to be able to see a number and know how
much it is worth rather than using dots to count. After talking with Mrs. Detwiler, we discussed a
plan to help Brad comprehend single digits numbers using his number line. Brad has been very
positive toward this intervention and he is eager to work

A Study Of Life Span Development
Have you ever asked yourself, who am I? What makes me the individual that I am today? Well,
you are not alone. Many individuals have been trying to figure out why they have certain
characteristics or why they did not have those leadership or charismatic traits that they wish they
could have. All these questions can be explored through the study of life span development.
Within this science, we can explore the factors that influence who you are with identity
development, gender, stereotypes, ethnicity and culture. Identity is what makes the individual.
The uniqueness, such as specific traits ranging from religious to intelligence. Despite having the
same parents, even siblings have different identity. One sibling might posses more intellectual,
and athletic traits than the other, while the other one is complete opposite. But having this
unique set of traits is what makes us as an individuals. It s what distinguishes between you and
the world. If everyone would have had the same identity then we would not have evolved. We
would have not discovered all these scientific achievements throughout history. There wouldn t
be all stars or hall of fame sports athletes in history. Having different qualities as an individual is
what sets you apart and makes up the person you are today. Of course, you might ask yourself,
why do I hold these specific set of traits or why do I act this way? These questions have even been
asked as early during adolescent years. During

Roles of Women in Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
In Frankenstein penned by Mary Shelley, one cannot help but notice the role of women in the
novel compared to men. Even though Mary Shelley is the daughter of Mary Wollstonecraft, a
mother advocating for women s rights in society, she displays the roles of Caroline, Elizabeth,
and Justine as passive women. This may be the time period when women were considered inferior
to men. Caroline, Elizabeth, and Justine are depicted as possessions by men, admired for their
superficial beauty, and do not take action without the permission of men. On the other hand,
Shelley illustrates Safie as a woman who speaks up for her own rights when her father forbids her
to find Felix. The three points that contribute greatly to the passive role of women are... Show more

Elizabeth desires to understand how Victor is doing in college. However, as Victor s possession,
Elizabeth can only visit Victor under the approval of Victor s father. Also, in another letter that
Elizabeth writes to Victor while Victor is in England, Elizabeth asks Victor if he has fallen in love
with another woman. Elizabeth points out, Tell me, dearest Victor. Answer me, I conjure you, by
our mutual happiness, with simple truth Do you love another (Shelley 166). Due to Victor s lack
in response to Elizabeth s letters, Elizabeth becomes worried about her love for Victor. Although
Elizabeth comprehends her love for Victor during her childhood years, she has no right to prevent

Comparing Hughes And Langston Hughes
James Mercer Langston Hughes was an American poet, social activist, novelist, playwright, and
columnist from Joplin, Missouri. Hughes is best known for his involvement in the Harlem
Renaissance movement. Dušan Charles Simić is a Serbian American poet and was co poetry
editor of the Paris Review hes is known for his 1974 postmodernism poem Watermelons. Using
the two poets along with Allen Ginsberg s 1955 poem Supermarket in California I will compare
and contrast the figurative language, poetic devices, and subject material used in each poems.
In Hughes poem Harlem a series of similes are used in the poem to compare a dream deferred to
rotting, aging or burdensome items. A dream deferred is compared to a raisin, a sore, rotten
meat, a syrupy sweet, and a heavy load. The actions linked to these items suggest what might
happen to the dream, such as rotting and dying or weighing down the conscience of the people.
The poem ends with a single metaphor with the line Or does it explode? (Hughes 10). The text is

The French Connection is one of the most realistic police movies that I have ever seen and
teaches a lot about cops. There are some stereotypes as Popeye who plays the tough cop role and
at times could be racist, while his partner buddy is the more patient and quiet one than his loud and
obnoxious partner. It s a common formula seen in other police movies. This

Disneyland Is The Most Successful Amusement Park
Disneyland is the most successful amusement park in the world. Since the original park opened in
1955 more than a half billion people have visited the Disney theme parks worldwide, making it the
most visited theme park in history. It is a symbol of global Americanization and cultural
expansionism. American pop culture is prevalent all over the world and Disneyland is the perfect
representation of this notion. Tourist from all over the world come to America and enjoy the
Disney theme park experience and soon enough new Disneyland parks will be built around the
world.
Tokyo Disneyland
Once Disney discovered the amount of Japanese tourist that visited the Disneyland parks in
America, it was inevitable that the Disney Corporation would build a theme park overseas. In
1962, the Japanese company, Oriental Land Co. (OLC) approached Disney with the idea of
building a theme park in Japan. The Walt DisneyCompany licensed Disney characters and other
copyrighted material to Tokyo Disneyland; however, Oriental Land Co. owns and operates the
amusement park.
Tokyo Disneyland was built on the reclaimed land in the Tokyo bay area and was predominantly
designed after the Walt Disney World resortin Orlando, Florida. It was marketed that it was a
100% replica of the American Disneyland, which also encompassed selling only American food
and Disney products inside the park. OLC s objective was to create the feeling that visitors would
be taking a foreign vacation by coming to their amusement

Climate Action Plan For The Uk Greenhouse Gas Emissions
B.C. Climate Action Plan
The B.C. Climate Action Plan is a comprehensive strategy implemented by the Canadian
government with the objective to diminish provincial greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). In 2007, a
Throne Speech was given remarking that climate leadership in B.C was illusory and commitment
to climate leadership was an imperative component in the future of the province. As such, in 2008,
the Climate Action Plan was released with the intent to serve as a guide in helping British
Columbia attain a prosperous, green economy. Within the Action Plan, initiatives and approaches
are outlined to make B.C carbon neutral by 2010 and move the province closer towards reducing
GHG emissions to the target 33 percent in 2020. By 2050, the ... Show more content on

2007 A speech from the Throne is given outlining the need for climate leadership. In response, 180
municipalities in B.C sign the Charter.
2008 The Climate Action Plan is released along with the enactment of the greenhouse gas
legislation.
2009 Federal standards are created for vehicle emissions.
2010 The first progress report is submitted showing all Climate Action commitments are underway
or complete. Additionally, B.C becomes the first carbon neutral government in North America.
2011 to 2012 The first interim GHG target reaches 6 percent below 2007 levels.
Objectives and Design
The B.C. Climate Action Plan has one main objective: to reduce provincial greenhouse gas
emissions. This objective takes the form of legislative targets that commit B.C to reduce their
emissions and become a carbon neutral province. The Climate Action Plan is comprised of pillars
that characterize key tactics that make reaching these goals plausible and realistic.
Key Pillars
The B.C Climate Action plan has 5 main pillars:
1.Legislated Targets: Entrenched in law, by 2020, B.C is committed to reduce their GHG
emissions by 33 percent compared to 2007 levels. Additionally, by 2050, the province has
committed to reduce emissions by 80 percent compared to 2007 levels.
2.Key Partnerships: The development of partnerships among nations surface opportunities to
capitalize on complementary strengths. As such, B.C has partnered with states

Essay on An Overview of Artificial Intelligence
An Overview of Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence, a concept that would make possible our most remote dreams, specially for
housewives. Would not it be interesting to know what is this marvelous thing that is going to make
our dreams come true? I think it is. AI(Artificial Intelligence) is a fairly new field in Computer
Science, my subject, which I found very interesting. AI it is not a well defined concept yet, which
it is not a surprise for me, considering that is a very new term and that it contains a word that is has
not been well defined either. Through the years, psychologist have come up with many different
concept for what intelligence is; some of them have become obsolete with the years, but there are a

In contrast, it is the business of using computations to make machines act more intelligently or
to somehow amplify human intelligence. Any techniques can be used by a program to so
something intelligent. The term was first introduced by John McCarthy in 1956 at a conference
at Dartmounth College. It was only a decade ago that Larry Tester suggested that AI be defined
to be a field in Computer Science because before it was usually closely related to computational
methods. For only 47 years has this term been around, and only ten of those 47 years have
scientific actually dedicated to develop it. So it is acceptable that computer experts have not been
able to agree in a definition yet, after all, the concept of intelligence has been around for a couple
of decades and psychologist have not completely agreed in it is definition yet.
Today s technology is not advanced enough to provide us with something that can completely
fulfill the previous definition because otherwise, we will be already enjoying robobuttler, and
other machines capable of understanding human language, seeing and reacting to what they see
the same way a person does. In other words, we will be living in a world similar to the one
described in the Jetsons cartoon; would not that be wonderful? a dream for now. Nevertheless, we

Essay on Racism in America Today
Racism can be defined as beliefs, attitudes, actions or behaviors that are based on phenotypic
characteristics or ethnic affiliation (Patcher, 2010). Racism is a struggle that, to this day, has
continued to be a major issue. The color of someone s skin alters how a person is perceived by
society as a whole. Raceis a social construct created by humans to categorize the world. (Ponds,
2013) The outlook on racismvaries from community to community, family to family, and even
person to person. Skin color can alter all aspects of an individual s life, because unlike internal
differences and beliefs, skin color is a physical appearance. Social status, perceptions, roles,
occupation are just a few of the aspects of life which can be... Show more content on

The white majority is often of the opinion; minority racial groups like African Americans ultimately
bring this suffering upon themselves. The white community is often quick to deny the significance
of the negative impact of racism in today s society. Behaviors still show rasicism and
discrimination that say whites have the upper hand. (Gallagher, 2008) Not only that but most of the
negative stereotypes that were made up about minorities are continued to be used today. These
stereotypes like African Americans are thieves or Mexicans have to many children gives whites that
supremacy feeling. (George, 2013) They often go as far as to claim that quite the opposite situation
exists today, that minority races actually have advantages over the majority. They are quick to point
to Affirmative Action programs where minorities are given preferential treatment like financial
assistance or universities choosing to accept a student based on their race. Though these do seem to
be valid arguments, it is easily demonstrated that the measurable challenges facing minorities
clearly out way the advantages given. Conversely, there are clear measurable advantages to
being part of the white majority in today s society. The acts of racism started well before Marin

To Jobs That Pay The Rent
When it comes to earning a living, its hard and for so many times, your attempts tend to say In
your face to you. One thing I ve learnt is not to be let down by disappointments. So in my search of
jobs, I landed on one which I had never heard about before. It was a job to monitor chats on a social
media site.
Well its top of the notch boring jobs in the time magazine. Just kidding. But I was barely excited
by the idea of working here. I was to monitor these chats for conversations and plans coming up
through them that could be hazardous to the society s harmony. Now obviously there was no way
someone who would really want to talk this stuff would do it on a social networking site where
teens say their I love Yous to their crushes. I was trying my best not to be disgusted. Well only
there was one thing that was awesome, the pay, it was more fulfilling that just paying my bills.
So the next morning I woke up on time, tried to be excited, made myself a good breakfast, 2 eggs
half fried and a cup of coffee and stepped out to the new phase of my life. I thought to myself, this
is safe and ensured and hence better because if only I had to play rough I would have tried hitting

The Importance Of Interstate Commerce
Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution states that Congress shall have power to regulate
commerce with foreign nations, among the several states, and with the Indian Tribes (Epstein, et.
al., 2017). Congress can regulate the channels of interstate commerce and has the authority to
regulate and protect the instrumentalities of interstate commerce, and persons or things in interstate
commerce. Congress has the power to regulate activities that substantially affect interstate
commerce (Epstein, et. al., 2017).
The hypothetical case of United States v. Bates details the appeal and controversy of Interstate
Commerce filed by Norman Bates, owner of Eros Lodge and Eros Bar and Grill located in the
city of Utopia in the State of Grace. Bates is concerned how his business could be affected by
having same sex couple customers. Bates is not only worried about how profits could decrease,
he also believes that homosexuality is immoral. He believes that many of his regular customers
would not return or customers would be angry about same sex couples being present during their
romantic getaway at the Eros Lodge. The Public Administration Equal Access Act forbids
discrimination regarding sexual orientation in places such as those owned by Norman Bates. The
Equal Access Act applies to any business whose daily operations affect interstate commerce. The
Eros Lodge and Bar and Grill are not private businesses, and there are more than five rooms

Perception In The Truman Show
The film The Truman Show portrays an array of the ways of knowing continuously throughout. One
of these ways can easily be deciphered as intuition. The essential gut feeling can swallow up any
other reliable source solely because of a certain unexplainable phenomena pulling the heart and
mind in polar directions. Initially, it is Truman s intuition that over powers his refuting thoughts and
this is demonstrated when Truman explains his theory to Marlon, who then proceeds to invalidate
it. This leaves Truman empty handed and with a lack of reliable sources, except his intuition. The
memory of Sylvia s statement was the bases of Truman s instinctiveness and other events such as
the sight of his dead father further developed this gut feeling. The authenticity of these events cannot

At the start of the film, Truman believes that he has a clear understanding of the reality in which
he is presented, but only through his mere sight. Eyes have a tendency to be deceiving,
therefore, it should take more than one out of the five senses to be reassured of a particular
belief. The film follows Truman as he soon begins to become skeptical of his surroundings, which
in turn become the initial cause of his route to discovering the truth. The doubt that beings to form
within Truman, caused by his sense of sight, could not support him entirely until it merges with
his sense of touch. This is heavily depicted in the duration of the final few scenes where Truman s
ship collides with the sky. Despite Truman seeing the solid plaster wall as a supposed sky, the
moment he touches the wall with his bare hands, his theory is comprehensively validated through
the act of him breaking down into tears with utter shock from realization. Forms of sense
perception were put forth in order to convince Truman of his ignorance to the falsehood of his

Berry Gordy s Accomplishments
Berry Gordy founded Motown records in 1959, and created one of the most famous recording
companies to ever produce music. Motown had crossover success that helped promote the music of

their fight for their rights. Berry Gordyreally helped out the African American community by
creating Motownrecords and showing the world that blacks could really make quality music.

Motown also had success not only music but in crossing over with white listeners. Motown was

Intellectual Method The Four Spiritual Laws
Introduction
There are many methods to share the good news Of Jesus Christ Yeshua Messiah and I believe we
must use more than a few to reach strangers and friends or family. As the Word says, and he that
winneth souls is wise (Proverbs 11:30 KJV). As an intellectual method I prefer the The Four
Spiritual Laws method from author Bill Bright and Campus Crusade Ministries. Although I find
this method almost exact to the The Roman Road method. There are laws that govern our physical
universe and laws ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jesus said, I am the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father but through me
(John 14:6 KJV). Law four is that we must believe this and freely receive this gift of life in Jesus
Christ Yeshua Messiah. We receive this gift through faith and when we do we experience a brand
new spiritual birth. John 1:12 says, But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to
become the sons of God, to them that believe on His name (KJV). For by grace are ye saved
through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: nor of works lest any man should
boast (Ephesians 2:8 9 KJV). I think if you have the actual tracts the pictures are also a help aid
to the listener you are reaching out to with the good news that they might understand the spiritual
rules our Lord has set! I see one disadvantage to this method of evangelism whether you use the
tract or just know the method and the scriptures by heart and that is to offer water baptism to the
person or persons you are evangelizing. Another disadvantage to staying strictly to The Four
Spiritual Laws does not mention icebreakers or finding common ground with the one you are
going to share with which I feel is very important. I like what James Huston says, Before you ever
say the word Bible, you have to build up some trust with that person. You have to become his ally.

Taking a Look at Ornithology
Ornithology Ornithology is a branch of zoology that deals with the study of birds, and
ornithologist studies the variety of things on birds such as bird anatomy, behavior, biology,
evolution, ecology and physiology. For an ornithologist, there is no standard or even an average
starting salary because few people are hired strictly as ornithologist. Instead, they are hired as
teachers, professors, wildlife biologists, environmental scientists, environmental educators,
ecologists, tour leaders, and etc. The salary ranges applies to those fields and the organization that
is hiring. It also depends on the level of education that they have. They could make $5,000 a year
or $150,000 a year. In the field of ornithology, it should be narrow by their typical day,
requirements of educational level, the three positive and negative aspects of ornithology and
what makes ornithology so interesting. A normal day depends on them and what job they have.
They can teach and talk to the students or colleagues, go to meetings, read books and articles,
answer e mails, updating their website, and go out in the field to collect research data on birds.
Also, they can write a grant proposal in order to generate funding for a project. Basically, a
typical day for an ornithologist is just a bunch of random things, as long as it relates to birds and
saving them. In order for a student to become an ornithologist, it is an obvious statement that you
must have a great passion for birds or else this

A Professional Code Of Ethics
Copyright laws are important more so today then ever before because the ability to copy and
distribute intellectual properly and pirate electronic content has increased with the advancements in
technology and globalization. As members of the student body, University of the People students
must understand the detriments of plagiarism, piracy and ensure they protect Intellectual Property
and respect copyrightlaws. Developing a professional code of ethics as a computer professional,
will help navigate our careers and help us make proper ethical decisions and choices.
Intellectual Property
The University of the People s Intellectual Property policy requires we respect individual
property rights and abide by US copyright laws (University of the People Catalog, 2015, p. 83).
The University of the People does not tolerate plagiarism. Plagiarism violates Individual Property
rights by failing to credit the author s work. According to WIPO, Intellectual Property refers to
creations of the mind, creative work such as books, music, movies, photos, web content, and
software (WIPO, n.d.). Everyone has created Intellectual Property at some point in his or her life
and no one wants it stolen. Innovation flourishes when ideas can flow, but stealing from the author
will only lead to stifled creativity and resentment. When we build upon the work of others and our
own ideation takes root, we must give credit to its origin. Increased awareness of Intellectual

Then, my excitement incited something that would be my demise. Instead of simply presenting
the perfectly lovely piece of costume jewelry, my mind began to create a much more elaborate
scenario that snowballed to catastrophe. When we got to our first hour study hall, I made a big
deal of making certain that several people saw my ring. As they asked, I told them that my
maternal grandfather was a full blooded Native American (he actually was), and that he had
given me this gorgeous piece of turquoise jewelry which I wanted to give to Laura Beth as thanks
for her help and welcoming manner. As I had hoped, the class was impressed and I knew my
status was immediately elevated in this new social group. All was well until one of the boys
asked to see the ring. As he examined it, I heard an ominous snicker before he loudly announced,
Hey, Gina, is your grandpa s name Chief Avon? Naturally, I was mortified and began to cry and
repent about fabricating the story. What is interesting is that from that time forward, the students
were much more helpful and welcoming. That was the day that I learned a valuable lesson about

that being self conscious can be positively related with gift giving in adolescence. Adolescents

Our Time Here at Berks
Our team here at Berks has experienced much over the past 2 1/2 years, carrying the unofficial
mantra, TOC: Take on Change. We ve built and moved into a new facility, been awarded a new
staffing contract, seen people come and go, and transitioned over to an electronic health record.
It prides me that we have been a model for growth and development. Many of you exemplify
positive values that I believe make our work worthwhile. During our time together, I have
advocated on your behalf and made decisions with focus toward what is best for our future and
for this agency. We all recognize that change comes at a cost and that at each crossroad we have
the opportunity to determine which road to follow. We can accept challenges, making them
work to our benefit, or we can resist progress. For me personally, and as you probably have seen,
I choose not to be held hostage by those who thwart efforts to maintain a positive and rewarding
work environment. This said I also do my best to give others the benefit of the doubt, with hopes
that others do the same in return. I have done this for many of you regardless of opinions or
differing views and suggestions. Some of you can vouch for this as it has been at the expense of
your own frustration. I ve spoken with each of you on numerous occasions about toxic effects of
gossip and rumors. Previous administrators have done the same, even to the point of sending

The Chimney Sweepers By William Blake
The Chimney Sweepers
William Blake has written two poems with the same title of Chimney Sweeper, however each
poem was written to portray a different perspective of similar situations. The poem Chimney
Sweep (Songs of Experience) is written in a bleaker scope compared to Chimney Sweep (Songs of
Innocence) which happens to be much more optimistic.Willaim Blake had written these stories as
foils of one another and which has helped readers compare and contrast the messages that the
poems are trying to illustrate.
In the Chimney Sweeper (Song of Experience), William Blake tells the story of a young chimney
sweeper who was sold into his profession. When the boy is asked about his parents he replies that
They are both gone up to the church to pray , meaning they are around to look after the child.
The little boy continues on explaining how he deceives his parents so they may think that he is
happy, however the truth is that he knows he is in a profession that he will mostly die from and
is unhappy because of it. The little boy finishes off the conversion stating that his parents are gone
to praise God and his Priest and King, Who make up a heaven of our misery . The little boy
basically damns god and societies highers up for putting him in the position that he is in.
The poem Chimney Sweeper (Song of Experience), is a story that portrays how life can
sometimes be bleak. The poem broken down and told in a way that portrays both the characters age
and his opinion on

Mill On Liberty 1) J.S MILL On Liberty Mills take On liberty is similar to Huntington s argument on clash of civilization because mills believe that society will always have diversity. The fact that people of different belief will co exist but liberty and freedom of an individual is vital in keeping a society oppression free. In an attempt to answer question One section C, I will discuss J.S Mill theory On liberty for an individual and the society. Mill believes in the individual and his freedom to exercise his rights a person so long it does not harm others. That no one should be forced or pressured into doing things against their will and not even society, forceful ruler ship and public opinions of other should interfere in an individual s decisions. According Mill individual liberty is a good thing to major extent because he think it is a means to protect citizens form illegitimate leadership. • 3. Analysis Of We Wear The Mask By Chestnutt African American literature from the Colonial era through Reconstruction shows how African Americans were always treated differently and many of them had to either ignore the awful things the white people said to them, or they had to hide behind a mask of someone everyone tells them to be. One of these incidences of having to just ignore society was in the folktale Member Youse a Nigger when John spend his days keeping quiet and doing only the things that would set him free. While the story The Wife of His Youth by Charles Chestnutt and the poem We Wear the Mask by Paul Laurence Dunbar were about the effects that society has on colored people. • 4. Mark Antony s Use Of Persuasion In Julius Caesar Persuasion is often more effectual than force (Aesop). Nearly 600 years before the assassination of Julius Caesar, the famous Greek fabulist Aesop knew the power of persuading others. From then until now, persuasion is a huge part of everyday life. Examples of persuasion include advertisements incall forms of media: books, billboards, and especially speeches. One of the most celebrated speeches in literary history is the one given by Mark Antony at the funeral of Julius Caesar in William Shakespeare s The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. The techniques that Antony uses are the predominant reasons why his monologue resonated with his audience and why he was able to turn the citizens against the murderers and Brutus. Repetition is a powerful form of persuasion that reinforces the speaker s message by repeating words, sentences, and information. This can influence the reader s attitude toward a particular character or event. During Mark Antony s speech, he continuously exclaims, But Brutus says he [Caesar] was ambitious, And Brutus is an honorable man... Yet Brutus says he [Caesar] was ambitious, And Brutus is an honorable man. (III.ii.14,15,21,22) Antony constantly reminds the crowd that Brutus was an honorable man while proving to the people of Rome that Brutus was actually wrong about Caesar s ambition. This shows how Antony s repetition as a form of sarcasm was so effective. He clearly states that Brutus is an honorable man, but when he states this, he is simply mocking him and proving to the crowd that he, in fact, is not an honorable man. Not only was Brutus wrong about Caesar in general, he was also wrong about killing Caesar. Antony s speech states, Did this in Caesar seem ambitious? The odd truth in this is the fact that a child was able to reach through a much older man, he introduced love to Gillenormand, whom originally possessed a minute lovein his heart. Gillenormand still views his adopted child as still young. This view crushes his moral since Marius befalls as the embodiment of his life. Without him, he suffers tragically. Marius makes him ultimately realize that money is the least important. Gillenormand s original intention was to leave Marius a vagabond until Marius returned to him and plead to return. However, this was not the case. Marius, fully content with his way of life, made enough money, lived the life he wanted, and discovered the love of his life. This challenged Gillenormand s own views, a happy life with scarce money? What was this? Surely a new outlook of life, a sufficient way to be happy. When he learns of this while Marius asks for permission to marry he is stupefied and utters, That is it, twenty one, no business, twelve hundred livres a year (394). He fails to realize that nothing is wrong with this lifestyle and should not prevent Cosette s and Marius s Marriage.Throughout this conversation money constantly arises as a reason not to marry, another challenge that Marius causes for Gillenormand. He cannot obviously see that marriage for Marius is not about money, only love, an outlook that surely confuses him. If he had completely understood Marius s true intentions he would not advise Marius to make Cosette his mistress of course a mistress is not of pure intentions, not even love (397). • 6. We Wear The Mask By Paul Laurence Dunbar Shapeshifting requires the ability to transcend your attachments, in particular your ego attachments to identity and who you are. If you can get over your attachment to labeling yourself and your cherishing of your identity, you can be virtually anybody. You can slip in and out of different shells, even different animal forms or deity forms. Zeena Schreck, religious leader of the Sethian Liberation Movement. In the poem We Wear the Maskby Paul Laurence Dunbarthe reader should learn that individuals feel the need to wear a mask to change their personality into the more ideal individual which surpasses their confidence, fear, insecurities, and emotions. This poem develops the realities about self image and how it makes individuals act in society. Initially, the poem opens with We wear the mask that grins and lies, it hides our cheeks and shades our eyes (Dunbar, 1 2). The mask presents the truthful and untruthful sides of individuals. The mask is also a work of craftiness as it forces the individual to appear happy, regardless of the pain they may be feeling beneath the surface. Individuals that struggle with themselves wear a mask to show everyone else that they are not struggling and have everything figured out. Just like being in pain With torn and bleeding hearts we smile (Dunbar, 3). Individuals force smiles on their faces to portray to others that they are happy no matter whats going on in their life. • 7. Turbo vs Supercharger Kevin Snyder P. Crumrine WR 121 07 21 2013 Forced Induction Debate One of the most commonly used ways to give a vehicle more horsepower today is forced induction. There are two different types of this forced induction, which brings us to Forced Induction Debate. The conflict most people face when deciding what they would rather install on their car is what is better, a turbocharger or a supercharger? Both turbochargers and superchargers have advantages and disadvantages, some of which are similar. Choosing the right kind of forced induction for your vehicle will depend upon your vehicle and your power preferences. The first type of forced induction is the supercharger. A supercharger is mounted to the engine and is driven by a pulley ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The smaller the turbocharger, the less lag is produced. When a supercharger is activated, there is absolutely no lag at all because it is connected directly to the crank. This means that superchargers are able to produce boost at very low levels of rpm, giving the engine more power the whole time the supercharger is running. This is very important for those people who drive the supercharged trucks that are heavier than most cars and are usually hauling heavy loads in the back of the truck or on a trailer. The turbocharger makes up for its lag with its ability to generate mass amounts of power to the engine. Turbochargers take barely any power from the engine to create boost. Turbochargers use the gas heat and engine pressure to create boost and give the engine more power. Most turbochargers produce 40 percent more power to an engine. So if a vehicle had a 200 horsepower engine and was running off of a turbocharger producing 10 pounds of boost, the engine would actually be running off of 280 horsepower. A supercharger produces mass amounts of boost for the engine from the crankshaft of the engine itself to compress air and make boost. While running, a supercharger uses valuable power from the engine which must be taken away from the gain of power in the long run. A vehicle with and engine producing 200 horsepower and a supercharger producing 10 pounds of boost would only make the vehicles total ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I pray that it s some help to you too. So Called Same Sex Marriage: Lamenting the New Calamity by John Piper Jesus died so that heterosexual and homosexual sinners might be saved. Jesus created sexuality, and has a clear will for how it is to be experienced in holiness and joy. His will is that a man might leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, and that the two become one flesh (Mark 10:6 9). In this union, sexuality finds its God appointed meaning, whether in personal physical unification, symbolic representation, sensual jubilation, or fruitful procreation. What s new is not even the celebration and approval of homosexual sin. Homosexual behavior has been exploited, and reveled in, and celebrated in art, for millennia. What s new is normalization and institutionalization. This is the new calamity. My main reason for writing is not to mount a political counter assault. I don t think that is the calling of the church as such. My reason for writing is to help the church feel the sorrow of these days. And the magnitude of the assault on God and his image in man. The artist is unknown. Her dimensions are 29 X 21 X 10 inches. In Hinduism, Brahmani is the shakti of the god Brahma, the creator of the universe and senior member of the Hindu Trinity, and is one of the seven mother goddesses that may have been located in the temple of her origin ( The Hindu Deity Brahmani ). The sculpture was created during the Chola Dynasty, also known as the Golden Age of Tamil Culture, and carved from either granite or hornfels granite. The Dravidian style of art and architecture attained brilliance under the Cholas, and the dynasty s triumphs are considered the greatest in South Asia containing some of the most beautiful masterpieces ever produced in India(Dehejia, 1990). This sculpture is an excellent representation of this goddess, confirming that the artistic vision of the Chola dynasty is paramount in Indian art. Equally as stunning, ornate temples were built to house sacred symbols to help Hindu devotees comprehend the incomprehensible. Theoretical Approaches To Personality Analysis While reading through chapter eleven of my psychology textbook, I discovered that the four main theoretical approaches to personality include the psychodymanic approach, the triat approach, the social congnitive approach, and lastly, the humanistic psychology approach. The first theory the book establishes is the psychodymanic apporach, also known as Frued s Theory, states that a person s personality is not due to a specific set of factors but rather that personality is determined by many factors such as a human s drives for food, sex, aggression, ect., as well as a person s unconscious processes, and a person s early childhood influences, most specifically a person s parents or gaurdians. After the conclusion of the personality test, the test described myslef as being a people person, an open person, and a generally positive person. The test also depicted my weakness as being to talkitive and too permissive, and my limitation as being failing to follow through on past commitments and failure with self disipline. I also scored almost equally on the lion personlity which means that while I am mostly an otter I also have very developed skills in leading. The trait theory, I believe, is the easist way of desribing a person s personality because you do not have to look into a person s past to determine why a person s personaity is the way it is but rather the trait view just observes a person s personality. The trait theory though falls though because it does not expain why people act the way they do or why they have prejudices. The social cognitive approach argues that a person s persoanity is learned whether than inherit our personaities. This follows through with some ideas in gender theory stating that a person s gender traits are also learned by society than inherited. This also releates to Frued s theory of parent involvment in a human s personality because a person s parents will be most around a child generally in that child s early development which allows for that child to generally delevop the traits of their parents and then hold on to those traits throughout their ... Mussolini was many things, but he was not a man of religion because he could never find one that could satisfy what he looked for in a religion. During this time, Italy was supposed to be a powerful nation that used capitalistic ideas and the idea of forced union labor to earn money. This was the time that people focused on economic growth of Italy by forming monopolies and cartels. Alfred Rocco, a primary theoretician, said that a hierarchal arrangement of capitalism had to be created because the support of the regimes would guarantee higher wages and employment rates. The highest level of associations was the state or government. The state also reflects the behaviors of its individual leader and its group of people so the same philosophy applies. The state, the individual, and all human associations thus have life, conscience, and will to achieve. That ties all three concepts together. • 17. Georgian Style In Colonial America Georgian Design and the Beginnings of America The American Georgian style ruled American design from about 1714 to 1830. The Georgian style was inspired by English and European styles of the time, relied on classical elements, and took inspiration from the Italian Renaissance. Georgian design was located mainly along the eastern seaboard, where the old styles gradually gave way to the Georgian, and there came for the first time a large degree of uniformity to American architecture(Wertenbaker, 1943, p. 66). Craftsmanship was a big part of early American life, and people liked to show off their quality homes, eventually displaying their stations by maintaining codes of dress, speech, and behavior (Architectural StyleGuide). Georgian American design had many different influences while adapting to suit the settlers needs. There are several beautiful examples of this style still intact today. Why is Makita outselling Black and Decker 8 to 1 in an account that gives them equal shelf space? a. Makita provided a good baseline option in all major categories compared to other suppliers who had strengths in particular product(s) e.g. Skil provided good circular saws. b. Home Depot strategy of stocking 30K items at prices 30% less compare to traditional hardware stores with superior customer service helped Makita to gain marketplace dominance. This also helped Makita to gain good perception from Tradesmen segment buyers as their product quality was reasonably good. 2. What should Joe Galli do? Why? c. Libanius mother was quite lenient in raising her children: My mother was a nice woman and feared the dishonesty of guardians and the litigation which would inevitably arise with them, and so she herself set out to be all in all to us. In general, she succeeded very well by dint of her exertions, but though she paid out fees to schoolmasters for us, she did not have the heart to get annoyed with her sleepyhead of a son, for she thought it was a loving mothers part never never to upset her child. Libanius mother was hands on. In fear and suspicion of other guardians, she was the type of woman who believed she could do things on her own. She was all in all to Libanius, which could be read either she took on all the roles as both father and mother or she was everything her children. Being independent, was a trait Libanius acquired from his mother. This passage from Libanius shows that his mother was quite over protective. It was evident that neither Vaynerchuk nor Ronga knew how to draw individual users or wineries to the network and consistently reinforce growth in this area. The drama Othello , is well known, for the way Shakespeare was able to make the audience focus on the destructive and corrupting power of jealousy. The theme jealousy in the drama Othello causes the major problems for the characters in the story. Jealousy in the story can be seen in two different views, which are: a)The destructive power of sexual jealousy. b)The jealousy of power and position. Sexual jealousy was exhibited as one of the destructive factors of jealousy that leads to tragic occasions for characters in the play. Outside of genetics, this is largely due to the country s polluted environments, specifically the air pollutionand the water pollution. Skin Color Discrimination In America There are citizens in the United States who believe they are living in a free society where all individuals enjoy the same livelihood and have throughout this nation s history. Just like in real life they wait and wait to see if anything occurs and surely does, at 4:10 A.M they both catch two thieves trying to strip the Lincoln. The Lincoln is towed back to a garage where it is searched for evidence or in this case drugs. They search everywhere from the trunk, under the hood and in the seating but come up empty. They start to get a bit impatient but do not give up and eventually do find the drugs. It turned out to be in the car s rocker panels underneath the doors. From this they have all the evidence they need to put these mobsters in prison once and for all. As in reality a big case such as this will never be solved in a couple of days, it could take weeks, months or even years. The French Connection is one of the most realistic police movies that I have ever seen and teaches a lot about cops.
