Analysis Of The Prophet Of Yonwood
The Prophet of Yonwood is a fictional book that was written by Jeanne DuPrau. This realistic
fiction book was published May 2007 by Yearling, an imprint of Random House Children s
Books. With 289 pages, this book is about the struggles people are facing in a little town when it
seems war may come at any moment. The Prophet of Yonwood is the third book in the City of
EmberSeries. One interesting fact about the book is that most of the story takes place in an old
mansion that two of the main characters live in. Jeanne DuPrausaid she has always wanted to live
in a huge, mysterious old house... . So she put it as the setting of her book. As The Prophet of
Yonwood begins, it focuses on a prophet by the name of Althea Tower. She sets up

Another antagonist in this book would probably be part of the setting. The country is on the verge
of war and this causes the citizens of Yonwood to be more scared than usual. More persuasive to
any ideas.
Some of the other characters are Grover Persons, Nickie s ant Crystal, her mom and dad,
Amanda, and Martin. Grover and Martin are boys that Nickie met at different times while she
was exploring Yonwood. At one point, Grover hints that he used to be good friends with Martin.
Crystal is usually never around. She is always off trying to organize things so the house will be
ready for auction as soon as possible. Nickie s mom and dad aren t actually in the story. They
send letters back and forth. Her mom is living at home and dad is off involved with the war
somewhere. No one knows where it actually is he keeps sending weird postcards to his wife and
daughter.
Nickie has decided to go with her aunt Crystal to Yonwood, North Carolina, where Nickie s great
Grandfathers has just past away. They are trying to sell his old house called Green Haven. In
Yonwood a woman by the name of Althea Tower has just had a horrible vision of what is believed
to be the future and Mrs. Beeson is the only person who can figure out what it means along with the
other things that Althea mumbles. Nickie sets out to achieve personal goals and ends up confusing

Israel maintains the longest current military occupation of a sovereign territory. In 1948 Britain
withdrew its mandate from Palestine causing the United Nations to split the area into two separate
states, creating Israel and Palestine. Being the only Jewish state in a region of Muslim controlled
governments, this was the cause for decades of conflict between Israel and various Muslim states.
The outcome of these conflicts was Israel occupying East Jerusalem, Gaza Strip, Golan Heights and
the West Banksince 1967, making these territories the longest current military occupation of any
sovereign land. This military occupation has caused havoc among the region due to many conflicts

500 Word. Describe The Top Three Reasons You Have Chosen
500 word
Describe the top three reasons you have chosen osteopathic medicine as your professional choice in
becoming a physician (Please use your own description and not one that widely describes the
profession).
While enrolled in Existence and Reality, a course offered at Allan Hancock College, I was
tasked to reflect on my beliefs concerning the seven most prevailing philosophical questions;
what is life, what is death, is there a God, is there life after death, why is there so much evil and
suffering in the world, and what is the good life? Due to my religious beliefs, I am certain that
there is a God, but when talking about the concept of life, I found myself questioning what my
purpose was. I have always had a calling to help ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After sustaining a knee injury that required for surgical intervention while in high school, I
struggled with recurring ailments throughout my intercollegiate career. It was not until my father,
who is an Osteopathic physician, was performing manipulation on me did we begin to diagnose the
potential causes. The issue was muscle imbalance and limited flexibility in certain areas of my body
that was shifting majority of my weight onto my knees while performing certain movements. This
went unnoticed by physicians because while performing examinations the scope was concentrated
on the immediate areas around my knee. With the knowledge I obtained through manipulation I
have been able to treat my knee ailments by strengthening and lengthening muscles throughout my
body. Having this experience helped solidify that if I am to be the physician I aspire to be, it is
imperative to be trained in this form of medicine.
Professionalism and the ability to gain respect in the community in which you live is of utmost
importance as you embark upon a career as a physician. What three professional qualities do you
feel a Student Doctor must be able to demonstrate as he/or she makes the transition into the study
and practice of medicine. How will you demonstrate those qualities as a medical student at VCOM?
Throughout life individuals go through multiple transitions. When specifically

Essay about Edward Hopper-Story painting
In the small town of Charleston, an older, lonely man sits at the bar in a Diner. A young couple
sat at the other end drinking coffee. The woman was dressed nice in a pretty red dress and the
man looking dapper with his blue suit and hat. The older man is a regular at this diner. He
arrives at the same time, sits on the same stool, and is always dressed nice as if he were about to
meet someone. He never did though. The waiter knows the older man by name and says,
quot;Hey Hopper, anything new today or just the same old, same old? quot; whenever he would

everyday. quot; The woman looked very disturbed and said, quot;Well where do you think he is?
quot; The waiter looked at her and said, quot;My guess is as good as yours. quot; The two were

The Most Beautiful Pieces Of Music
How is it possible to create some of the most beautiful pieces of music the world has ever heard
and the creator not be able to hear it himself? The world of music has seen many memorable
composers such as Bach, Mozart, Chopin, and Vivaldi, but none has as amazing a story as Ludwig
Van Beethoven. His life played out like one of his beautiful symphonies, with unimaginable highs,
lows, victories, and defeats, (Viegas 5). Ludwig Van Beethoven
was an 18th century classical
composer famous for his nine symphonies, and is also recognized as one of the cornerstones of
Western civilization through the legacy of his music.
Ludwig Van Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany. He was the son of Johann, a tenor of the
court of the Elector of Cologne, who also taught violin and piano lessons, and the grandson of
the man he was named after, who was the music director at the court of the Elector of Cologne.
His mother, Maria, was the daughter of a cook and was never truly accepted by Johann s father
as his wife because of her social status. It is believed that Johann s marriage to her defied his
father. There is no record of his date of birth, but there is a record of the day he was baptised
December 17, 1770. In Roman Catholic tradition, a child is baptised the day after their birth, so it
is commonly believed that Beethoven s date of birth is December 16, 1770. He was the oldest of
two other siblings two other boys, Kasper Anton Karl, and Nikolaus Johann. An emotionally and

Archduke Franz Ferdinand Assassination Research Paper
Just over a hundred years ago an event that shaped the whole future for the 20th and 21st century
went down. Heir to the Austria Hungary Empire, Franz Ferdinand was assassinated. This wasn t
just another act of violence, the assassination was done for legit reason. The Serbian nationalist
Gavrilo Princip is name of the assassin who completed this contract. He did it for the betterment and
freedom of his country.
The Archduke Franz Ferdinand heir to the Austria Hungarian Empire was in Sarajevoto inspect the
imperial armed forces. When touring the town in his limousine along with his wife Sophia, one

This is considered to be one of the deadliest conflicts in human history. Gavrilo not only managed
to kill Ferdinand but caused the deaths of as many as 18 million others by the end of this World
War. This war is among one of the deadliest conflicts in human history. Later on, this ultimately led
the American Great Depression and the second World War. If this assassination led to something
as massive as two World Wars the reason behind it must ve been really important. In the southern
part of Austria Hungary there was a region called Bosnia. Many of the people there wanted to
become their own country and not be under control by Austria Hungary. Another country known as
Serbia also wanted the Bosnians to be free and were willing to help. When Ferdinand announced
that he was going to travel to Sarajevo the Bosnian nationalists saw their chance to attack Austria
Hungary. Assassins were quickly recruited in an attempt to assassinated the Archduke while he
traveled the streets. These assassins were members of a group called the Black

Meaning Of The Ancreon Song
Francis Scott Key was an American lawyer that had boarded the British ship of their fleet to
persuade the British to release one of his friends who had been recently been arrested. Even
though he got what he had hoped for, the British refused to let them go. This is due to them
already having knowledge of the the attack that was about to occur. Therefore, under the British
s watch, the British allowed them to return to their ship. Under the watch of the British, Key
witnessed the bombardment on Fort Mc Henry. On the night of September 13, 1814, as he sat
and watched, he continued to view the distinct pictures that were there. This includes: clearing
smoke, darkness, gunshots, and red. (Brinkley 176) Then later, as he continued to watch what
was happening on Fort Mc Henry, Key continued to write his thoughts. Watching this, he thought
to himself that the British would win, but in reality, it was an American victory. On September
14, he saw the American flag still flying over the fort. (Siegel and Green 30) While still on the
ship, Key put all of his thoughts on paper making it into a poem. He named this poem The
Defence of Ft. Mc Henry . His poem was a tune of a older song set to The Anacreon Song . Ralph
Tomlinson wrote An Anacreon in Heaven that was used as a tone for Key to write his poem. This
song was commonly used for the Anacreontic Society. This club consisted of wealthy men who
were named after a poet, Anacreon. His poems mainly focused on love and wine.

Ancient polytheistic religion compared to Judaism

As the Mesopotamian civilization rose up in the valley of Tigris and Euphrates, the Egyptian
civilization was centered on the Nile River. The Egyptians were also a polytheistic religion, in

sun, earth, and music. The Egyptians worship took place at small shrines; they left offerings to
the chosen gods as well as simple prayers. The Egyptians believed that there afterlife was full of

Similarities Between Gemilut Chasidim And Tikkun Olam
Jewish ethics are inspired by the Sacred texts and are expressed in several different ways. Ethics
have been derived from the Torah, and Prophetic visions, and are expressed through practices
like Gemilut Chasidim and Tikkun Olam. The Scared Texts teach that Jews should be open to
serving the poor and many mitzvot command Jewish people to address the needs of the poor.
Gemilut Chasidim is how adherents respond to the call of God to serve others. Literally, giving of
lovingkindness Gemilut Chasidim is a Jewish practice whereby adherents are required to give their
time in service of others with no expectation of reward, as the Torahcalls them to do. Deuteronomy

him. Acts of social justice are referred to as Tikkun Olam.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The concept varies between the different variants, Orthodox Jews interpret it as overcoming
idolatry while Conservative and Progressive Jews believe that it as social justice. Different variants
of Judaism express their commitment to Gemilut Chasidim and Tikkun Olam in different ways.
The National Council of Jewish Women is an example of progressive Jews coming together to
pursue justice for all people. The NCJWA has many programs which support disenfranchised
women both internationally and domestically with projects aiding victims of assault, displaced
peoples, and handicapped children. The members of NCJWA are inspired by their faith to serve
the less fortunate and seek justice across the world. They have sought to bring the world closer to
God through acts of love and through their works of social justice, they have completed acts of

Theme Of The Graveyard Book
CORE The Graveyard Book (Neil Gaiman)
In The Graveyard Book , the author, Neil Gaiman conforms to the conventions of fantasy genre, by
making the novel have a deep and much hidden meaning, which the reader may not identify at first
glance. However, Neil Gaiman also subverts from the conventions of fantasy genre, because of the
reversal in roles of traditional characters, in typical fantastical stories. The Graveyard Book by Neil
Gaiman, is a children s fantasy novel. This book is about a boy, named Nobody (Bod) Owens,
who is taken in, raised and educated by supernatural inhabitants of a graveyard, after his family
was murdered by the man Jack . How and why Neil Gaiman chooses to conform to and subvert
from the fantasy genre, will be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Clear examples of this are Mr and Mrs Owens, who are ghosts, but still agree to take care of Bod.
Mrs. Owens and her husband have taken the child under their protection. It will take more than
just a couple of good hearted souls to raise this child. It will, said Silas, take a graveyard. This
quote shows that although Mr and Mrs Owens are ghosts, they can still be kind and loving
towards others. Another character in The Graveyard Book , who has an unordinary
characteristic, compared to traditional fantasy characters, is Silas, who is a vampire, but
nonetheless, looks after and provides for Bod, as his guardian. This shows how Neil Gaiman s
book subverts from traditional characters, because in typical fantastical stories, supernatural
characters, such as ghosts and vampires, are constantly portrayed as having a bad or evil nature.
In The Graveyard Book , Neil Gaiman most likely subverted from the fantasy genre, to make his
book original and unique, rather than to follow the conventional story line. Another reason as to
why Neil Gaiman subverted from the fantasy genre, is to show a pleasant and friendly side to
supernatural characters, which are often portrayed as evil. This is because most readers have the
common mindset, that creatures such as vampires and ghosts must be

How The Other Half Lives, And Upton Sinclair s Book, The...
During the late 19th century and early 20th century, America increased drastically in
industrialization, consumerism, and urbanization. With these increases a Mass Consumerism
movement began and effected the middle class more than others. From the increase in
consumerism, Thorstein Veblen introduced a new phrase called conspicuous consumption. This was
indicated towards wealthy Americans that the best way to prove superiority is to show off their
wealth. This negatively effected Americans and their perception on others. With the massive
increase in industrialization and urbanization, Americans living in poverty and with poor jobs were
mostly effected negatively than others. In Jacob Riis s book, How the Other Half Lives, and Upton
Sinclair s book, The Jungle, it opened the eyes of Americans not living and working in these
conditions. After the government and American people witness the horror some citizens must deal
with, changes will occur and improve conditions.
Mass Consumerism affected American society by persuading Americans to buy certain items and
making shopping more convenient. Middle class families were more affected from mass
consumerism, because the middle class filled white collared jobs, and this would give them more
disposable income to spend on whatever they like. Department stores were made to persuade and
appeal to consumers, and these stores would carry all consumer needs, sitting and resting areas, and
restaurants, to persuade people to stay longer in

The first part of preparing to make the cookies is combining the given amount of flour, baking soda,

when he takes a harder and longer route to Alaska. He suffered from hubris because he doesn t
think he will die; considering that many people died taking the route Chris wants to take. An
example from the story is the time he canoed for hundreds of miles and crossed the Mexican
international border. In that journey Chris could have gotten jailed for a long time for crossing an
international border illegally or possibly killed. As the text states, If this adventure proves fatal, I
want you to know you re a great man. The second reason is when

Examples Of Paradiso In Dante s Divine Comedy
Paradise or Paradiso was the final book as well as the final part in Dante s Divine Comedy series.
Through this book we are taken on a journey through heaven where Dante is guided by Beatrice as
he makes his way through the nine spheres of heaven which consist of the moon, mercury, venus,
the sun, mars, jupiter, saturn, and the primum mobile. Through these nine spheres Dante meets new
people and remarkable people who had a major impact on history at some point in time. The first
three spheres talk about are all associated with things Fortitude, Justice, and Temperance and the

Summary Of The Overcoat By Nikolai Gogol
In a time of large, corrupt, and ineffective bureaucracy, Nikolai Gogol looks provide a humorous
perspective on life in Tsarist Russia. Through both The Nose and The Overcoat, Gogol reveals
his true nature as a comical humorist with the intention of giving readers a laugh but also of
mocking human vanity. From the very beginning of The Overcoat, it becomes clear the story
has a comedic nature. While explaining to the reader the touchiness of departments in Russia,
Gogol gives the district police chief as an example: He plainly demonstrated that all the imperial
institutions were going to the dogs, and that the Czar s sacred name was being taken in vain;
and in proof he appended to the complain a romance, in which the district chief of police is
made to appear about once in every ten pages, and sometimes in a downright drunken condition
(Gogol 1). The scenario Gogol describes is one of absurdity. How could someone get so worked
up over a book that has no intent of offending them? No normal person would ever become so
hysterical over a piece of literature that indirectly offends them. Claiming that the whole political
system of Russia is being destroyed and that royalty had been disgraced because of a simple
character in a book that resembles oneself is preposterous. To a rational mind, the police chief s
over emotional reaction is clearly insane, as a normal person does not have the narcissism to take
minute details personally. This laughable situation

The Spanish Armada By William Shakespeare
The Spanish Armada is about a boat that set sail in July 1588 by the Spanish, and it was ordered
by the catholic King Philip ii of Spain to invade England and take down the protestant Queen
Elizabeth i. Queen Elizabeth i, was catholic but then became protestant. The Church did not like
her decision and they wanted her to become catholic again, so the Pope encouraged King Philip ii
of Spainif he could try to make England catholic again. King Philip agreed to do what the Pope
had asked of him. For years King Philip ii wanted England and he was in need of a Queen and
since Elizabeth i was not wed he proposed to Elizabeth over and over again, but Elizabeth wanted
to make the decisions and wanted to be in charge for her country and she did not want to marry
because she did not want to be told what to do by her husband, so she declined all of Philip s
marriage proposals. Philip agreed that he would give her time and he would be willing to be
patient for her and the throne, and wait for Elizabeth to accept his proposal.
Queen Elizabeth s biggest catholic rival and biggest threat to her throne was her cousin Mary
Stuart, also known as Mary Queen of Scots, seeing how Mary was next in line for Elizabeth s
throne. Elizabeth felt threatened by Mary. Elizabeth was afraid that Mary would take the throne
right from her at any moment. Elizabeth had imprisoned Mary while Mary was out riding and kept
her captive in England. After the Throckmorton Plot of 1583, Walsingham introduced the Bond

The Last Days Of The Incas
The Last Days of the Incas:
How the conquest of the Spaniards led to an impact on one of the world s largest empires. The
Inca Empire, shortly after its beginning, fell under the rule of the Spaniards but was still one of
the world s ancient largest empires. It wasn t until around 1400 that the Incas began to emerge as
the dominant regional polity . On the eve of the early 1530 s the Spanish invaded the Incas .
However, the Incan rulers had just fought a civil war in which Atahualpa, the emperor, had defeated
his brother Huascar. Reasonably, the Incas were defensive towards those who approached the
empire. Eventually when the leader of the Spanish conquest Francisco Pizarro along with a force of

Examples Of Figurative Language In Night By Elie Wiesel
Figurative language can be used to develop different themes within writing. Elie Wiesel uses
figurative language to show his theme of hopelessness in his memoir, Night. For instance, he
writes, They passed me by, one after the other, my teachers, my friends. ... Some of whom I had
once feared, some of whom I had found ridiculous, (Wiesel 17). This repetition definitely shows
the feeling of hopelessness that he must have had during this time. Reading this, I feel bleak.
Bleakness being very close to helplessness. The repetition puts this feeling on you, and this makes
it a very effective piece of figurative language. Reading further along I see another literary device.

Differences Between Daoism And Confucianism
It is a well known fact that in order to survive, civilizations must change; they cannot remain
stagnant forever. These changes allow a society to grow and develop which is crucial as new
breakthroughs can lift up a civilization from a place of oppression and boundaries into a more
equal and freeing place. However, long held customs or behaviors may be persistent with the
lifespan of a society. Typical behavior can last centuries, but sometimes a small break will occur
where a new change is tested out only to be reverted back to the previous arrangement. During the
time period 100 C.E. to 600 C.E classical chinese civilizationwitnessed a change of spirituality that

position of power is given to one who has the desire to help his community, not to one who has

political system remained strong and intact with this practice of choosing officials. The mandate of

political structure of Chinese culture remained persistent as well, an ode to the structure of their
political system. Because their basis was so well thought out and organized, it didn t need to be

political system hadn t the need to be changed. An intricate system of testing potential government

organization that went into their political system and future political candidates. The few changes

In the novel, The Songs of Distant Earth by Arthur C. Clarke, there are many details that
predictions and inferences can be derived from. One inferences that can be made is that the
character Moses Kaldor greatly misses his wife after he left her to depart from Earth. This can
be shown through his emotions and words when talking to the character Mirissa. Clarke writes,
Yet we never really believed that End would be in our time who could! And if anyone had ever

and Mirissa waited in sympathetic silences until he had regained his composure. (Clarke 149 150).

Chaparral Biome Research Paper
The Chaparral Biome is known by various different names due to the variety of locations it is
situated in around the globe. It is often referred to as the California woodland and grasslands
because of it s exclusivity on the Californian coasts in North America, and also known as the
Mediterranean Biome due to the large areas surrounding parts of the Mediterranean Sea. The
chaparrals located in California are situated in the Sierra Nevada mountain ranges, which span
across to the Pacific Ocean, and cover up to peaks at 5,000 feet above sea level. Hence, due to its
location the climateis often hot and dry in the summer, and often cold and rainy in the winter.

fire to suppress larger competitors from conquering over their ecological niche. Thus, in order to

Clubs and Non Profit Organizations
Introduction What s the deal? Clubs are very common establishments in our society. Firstly, before
I further explain all the required information, we have to understand that a club operates
differently as compared to a normal business/enterprise. The most imperative difference between a
business and this sports club is that a business is established with the aim of generating profit
which the owner is entitled to because the owner is the person who provides the start up capital.
The low down A sports club on the other hand, it is established to provide facilities to the members

taken to the ACCUMULATED FUND account and if not, they will entered into the INCOME

specific corner where refreshments and snacks are sold for the convenience of its members.
This is not the main activity of the club, yet, is a small trading activity that generates funds for
the club. Western Cape Soccer Club prepares a Refreshment Trading Account to account for the
profit or loss arising from such an activity. The money that the club receives from this activity
will serve as a portion of the income. When the physical refreshments are bought, this is
recorded in the REFRESHMENTS ACCOUNT which is an asset account. If there are
refreshments left over at the end of the financial period, these have to be recorded in the account
called REFRESHMENTS ON HAND and these will be used in the next financial period.
Refreshments account will increase on the Debit side and if the refreshments are sold, the
account decreases on the Credit side (as it is an asset account). The profit made will be accounted
for with a contra account PROFIT ON SALE OF REFRESHMENTS. I have illustrated how

Moreover, despite the fact that the bond index underperformed both the actuarial return and T bills,

Standard English Essay
The question to ask is: Why not use Standard English all the time?
Language is a powerful communication tool the user holds to express their individual identity and
ingroup solidarity. The use of Standard English helps to direct this, as it acts as the structure of
communication, ingroup and between speech communities to effectively present a standard for
mutual understanding. Outside of Standard English comes the use of slang, netspeak and
textspeak, which helps to develop and enrich the language, as well as evolve with contemporary
Australia and its fast paced lifestyle. Using the Standard all the time would be exclusive of the

Other forms of the English language are developed from speech communities with an intention, for
efficiency and to show inclusion, and to exclude others. It also helps to convey a specific identity of
the speaker, with the use of syntactic and phonological differences from Standard English. These
modifications form non standard dialects, transferring the speaker s cultural background and
language to provide a better perception and reflection of identity. The falling intonation
accompanied with interrogatives in the Asian ethnolect, such as Gravy? , is the opposite of the
rising intonation used for the same purpose by Australians, and can quickly cause conflict between
the two communities due to the missing benchmark in language. Pronoun deletion in No like ( I

speech community.
There are a range of English varieties which are different from the Standard, developed from
communities of speakers all sharing the same use of language. Aboriginal English, a dialect of

Analysis Of The Book Fish Out Of Water
After a retired mobster fakes his death to hide from the mob, he attempts to reconcile with his
estranged soccer mom daughter and grandson, by taking charge of the annual PTA fundraiser.
STORY COMMENTS
GRANDFELLA is a delightful and entertaining mobster crime, comedy. It conjures up sweet
memories of ANALYZE THAT, MEET THE FLOCKERS, and GOODFELLAS. The tone is light
hearted.
The script features an extremely appealing hook: a seasoned mobster decides to retire and
reconcile with his estranged daughter and grandson. He goes from being a big time mobster
negotiator to a small town PTA fundraiser.
There s an amusing fish out of water element to the storytelling. Solid themes about second chances,
respect, reconnection, and redemption are well interwoven into the plot.
The script features a very likable and charming protagonist in Nick. He s a retired mobster, forced
to fake his death, and he struggles to adjust to his new world by using his old enforcer
techniques. It s a smart story choice. It s fun to watch Nick bring his skills as a gangster to this
small town. They learn from him, as he learns to love and care about others. At the end, he realizes
his real family is not his crew, but his daughter and grandson, as well as the folks in the town.
There s a lot to like about this script. There s a well defined three act structure. The goal is clear
and the stakes are high. There are some nice plants and payoffs (the bracelet).
First, the opening sets the tone for this

Berlin Argument Of Negative Liberty Analysis
Analysis of Berlin s Argument of Negative Liberty: Berlin considers negative liberty as the area
within which a man can act unobstructed by others (Stewart, 90). The obstructions contain not
only physical limitations but also human involvement. We should take the example of cab
driver within the automobile who agrees to the region s government tacitly by mere residence
and also via enjoying the ups and downs of the daily life. Now, in this process of driving we
cannot say that the friction, gravity or the climatic disaster are the cause of limiting the freedom
of the driver but the actual cause are the speeds limits, lack of money to buy a vehicle and the
driving habits of others. However it should be understood that in civilized society, there is give
and take freedom, which in the case will lead to the agreeing if most of the people that safety of
others produces more of a benefit than the loss of freedom from traffic laws. It is because of the
assumption by them that traffic laws are civil and just since it produces more greater good. Now,
take the other example of money and poverty. Berlin feels that the poverty can be defined in
several ways. But, we need to analyse the human influence, without personal disability in order to
truly consider an infringement upon freedom. Money limits freedom as it creates strain and
economic inequality which in turn, leads to poverty and limits the person s freedom to make
choices. Adhering to a strict sense of the concept of negative freedom, money does impose upon
the inhabitants who cannot obtain the capital to thrive in a barter free society. John T Bookman
provides a vivid picture in that sense. He explain that money opened the doors to an emergence of
economic classes, which strain relations among people and that human relations in the state of
nature have been strained by economic inequality, and a desire to protect property is a major
reason for quitting the state of nature and instituting civil society (Bookman, 364). Now, it is
evident that the notion of negative freedom comes with the cavet that it is impossible to create a
fine line from which a truly free society can be established. Berlin states, we cannot remain
absolutely free, and must give up some

The Great Gatsby
To be an anti hero, a character must be a common man that is portrayed as a good person but with
bad qualities. For the most part, an anti hero is also a person that a reader can relate to, someone
who has experienced a form of tragedy through series of events that the character can t control.
Tragedies that have been brought upon from his own flaws from the past and present.
In the book The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, at first glance the main character Jay Gatsby
first appears as an extraordinary man with a perfect life. With a closer look, Gatsby is nothing more
than common man with the flaw of being stuck in the past. As much time he spends ... Show more

The Machine Stops, By E. M. Forster
The Machine Stops Literary Analysis In the short story The Machine Stops , E. M. Forster gives
us an insight into a world where technology is in every aspect of our lives. Vashti, the main
character, must struggle with her internal conflict and her relations hip with the technology in
their world. In addition, Forster uses the central theme to explain our dependence on technology.
He also uses symbolism and irony to contribute to this central idea. Through this futuristic
setting, Forster develops the fundamental concept of blind faith and its influence in our everyday
lives and choices. Firstly, we are introduced to Vashti as a woman about five feet high, with a
face as white as fungus. Although in her society she is the perfect size, in our terms her body
type could be described as a blob . She would just be pile of flesh and this is due to the lack
movement in their lives. As a music lecturer, Vashti is a star citizen in the eyes of her society;
however, she nly lectures on already established views of Australian music. Tending to go along
with the norms of society, she is a conformist and has no problem firmly believing in what is
considered normal . For example, when Kuno declares that he would like to go outside to the
surface, she argues that it is contrary to the spirit of the age. This means that she solely
disapproves because it is against the ideas of the society. Being quite firm in her beliefs, she can be
fairly stubborn as well. If she makes up

Heterozygotes, which have the wild type phenotype, have normal sight which gives them the
advantage of finding a mate and have a better success with attracting a mate with their courtship
song (Kyriacou et al, 1978). The male heterozygous Drosophila had a better advantage at mating
than the homozygotes, which were the ebony, and therefore we predict there will be more wild
type by the end of the experiment. METHODS: In this experiment, the instructor provided us
with 30 ebony individuals and 20 wild type individuals. In order to get an exact amount of each
type, we anesthetized the flies and counted them off by gently using a fine point paint brush.
Then all 50 Drosophila were put into a population cage which had a lid that had six holes for the
centrifuge tubes. Two food tubes and four clean, empty tubes were added on the first day. Each
food tube consisted of half a cup full of food mixed with 6 7 milliliters of water. This was the fly
medium. The food should turn blue once the water is added. Each tube was labeled with a
number and with the date. Every two to three days we added one more food tube until all 6 tubes
contained the fly medium. After all 6 tubes were filled, the following days after we exchanged the
first food tube with a new food tube. At the end of the experiment, we fed the flies with a total of
8 food tubes. Then the flies were anesthetized, again. At the end of this four week lab, the number

The Importance Of Effective Communication Skills
I have developed my effective communication skills over the past few years whilst working both
my current jobs; Vue Cinema and Sainsbury s, whilst studying Law at Leeds Beckett University.
In order to effectively communicate with others I believe it is essential to listen to, not just hear
people s views. This includes what words have been spoken, but also how they have been spoken,
taking note both the person s body language and tone of voice.
An example of when I have utilised this skill is when I notice customers struggling with their
packing at Sainsbury s and I volunteer to help them, even if I am currently not serving them.
Customers often do not ask for help, but I assess the situation through a customer s body language
and facial expressions to determine whether to help. Packing, even though a seemingly small task,
involves constant effective communication, this allows myself to understand the customer s
requirements and needs as to how and what should be packed. Effective communication builds a
colleague customer relationship, in result creating a trust between them and the company.
Effective communication also involves being aware of others emotions i.e. being sympathetic to
other people s misfortune and using empathy to put yourself in the other persons shoes . I use first
names where appropriate, this helps to build a relationship with the person I am talking to, making
them my equal. Effective communication involves good eye contact, I make and maintain eye

Dalai Lama s Invasion On Tibetan Culture
During 1950, china invaded tibet and the small tibetan army couldn t handle the stronger chinese
army and had to give in. In 1951, a peaceful liberation took place and was signed by Tibet making
many agreements with China. The biggest condition was giving authority to the chinese over Tibet.
The upcoming anniversary of this liberation should not be commemorated because this was an
invasion on the tibetan culture and on the lives of the tibetan people.
A previous icon during the time of the peaceful liberation in Tibet, was the fourteenth Dalai Lama.
He tried to preach non violence to all the angry Tibetans. People refused his ways and began to
fight the communist ways and the Lama did not support them. When Dalai Lama returned to
India to celebrate the Buddha, he did not want to go back to Tibet with all the fighting.
Eventually a big fight broke out with the chinese army and tibetan gorillas and the Dalai Lama
had to flee and was no longer welcome in Tibet with his people. This liberation ruined a religious
icon in Tibet and that is no reason to celebrate.(Gale Group)

Stephen Jay Gould s Critique Of The Bell Curve
After reading and analyzing The Bell Curve, one is left in a confused state of whether Gould s
arguments are realistic or not. Many have gone against his dissertation and some believe it is true.
The Bell Curve argues that IQ can determine the success of a person, and it can vary in between
races. Others such as Gould, believe that the IQ test is inadequate due to the fact that it is not based
on life circumstances. The main controversy after the bell curve was published was whether the
authors were racist and if intelligencewas determined by race. Critics have since proven that the
Bell Curve is inaccurate and intelligence is not only measured by tests and is not affected by
certain circumstances such as race. Stephen Jay Gould s Critique of The Bell Curve is one of the
most popular arguments against the Bell... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Horgan is a well renowned and respected journalist that has written for major newspapers, such as
the New York Times and The Washington Post. One chapter from Mismeasure focused on the
work of a 19th century physician, Samuel George Morton, who amassed a collection of almost
1,000 skulls from around the world. Morton estimated the brain size of different racial groups by
pouring seed and lead shot into the skulls. He concluded that whites have larger brains on average
than blacks, confirming his suspicion that the races do not share a common ancestry but stemmed
from different evolutionary roots. In Mismeasure, Gould reanalyzed Morton s skull measurements
and concluded that the average sizes of blacks and whites skulls were roughly equivalent. Gould
suggested that Morton s racial bias had led him to discover results consonant with his beliefs.
Horgan believes that maybe Gould was wrong that Morton misrepresented his data, but he was
absolutely right that biological determinism was and continues to be a dangerous pseudoscientific
ideology

Transcontinental Railroad
Transcontinental is going across a continent, and transcontinental railroads are the means that are
used to go across continents from Eastern to the Western part of United States. The Union Pacific
railroad offered railroad transport from New York on the Atlantic Coast, all the way to California,
on the Pacific Coast of United States. The project of the railroad terminated in 1869, which was
pioneered by two companies, which were Union Pacific and Central Pacific, built the railroad from
east and west, and they met at Utah. Central Pacific laborers mainly consisted of the Chinese, while
those in Union Pacific were mainly Irish. Both companies gave their workers harsh working
conditions. The railroad made a major impact on transcontinental transportation but was faced by
some dangers and difficulties.
Overland route, which was previously referred to as Pacific railroad is 3500 miles long. The main
funder of the railroad was the US government through the offering of higher loans and bonds
(Healey 460). Also, the government offered land grants for usage in the construction. 1830 was the
first time that a locomotive set off in the railroads, and that sparked the development of the rail
network in the country.
A bill was set, which was supposed to guide the construction of the railroad. Central Pacific
Railroad was supposed to start the construction in Sacramento and push towards the

Reflection Paper On Baton Rogue
You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.
John Bunyan. Last summer, I had the pleasure of doing just that. Baton Rogue in Louisiana was
city devastated by flooding but united by service. Our church wished to help, and as luck would
have it the St. Bernard Project organization would sponsor a volunteer group down to Baton
Rogue to help rebuild houses. I wished to be a part of the group, and I was permitted after our
youth director agreed to include the 9th graders as well. I was very excited and was ready to go.
My sister, Hailey, would be going with me sorta like my guide. Little did I know that this trip
would change my view of what it means to be an American and my ideas on volunteering
forever. Our bus was loaded in the parking lot of the church, and after saying goodbye to our
parents, I hopped on and settled down for a long ride. Twenty five hours is a very long time to
be on a bus granted we stopped for meals along the way. When we finally pulled into the hotel in
Baton Rogue, I wanted nothing more than to just get to our room and head to sleep. The real
fun would begin the next day when we would finally get to work. I was not really sure what to
expect the next morning. I knew I was going to work, but I didn t think of who I was working for
and how much it would mean to them. Rest assured, I would figure all that out over the course of
the week. Morning in Louisiana in the summer is not pleasant. The air is heavy

All staff involved in catheter insertion and care must be educated on proper care. Nurses must be
educated on the importance of decreasing catheter use and their right to question Foley catheter

behavior will also help overcome resistance to change among nurses who are unwilling to change
for the sake of convenience or habit. Creating a peer to peer educational plan is also shown to

Non Parental Adults
Running Head: INTERACTION WITH YOUTH IN EDUCATION All children need some sort
of adult figure to be able to provide for them. Adults play an important role in the life of a young
person. In many scenarios it is our hope that adults use the knowledge they have acquired
throughout their life to positively influence and assist in guiding a young person in a positive
direction or to produce their full potential in general. If adults are dedicated to the development and

How Did Shakespeare Influence Romeo And Juliet
William Shakespeare, a prosperous Renaissance man, is known as the greatest playwright in
English literature. He was born on April 23, 1564 in a small town called Stratford upon Avon,
Warwickshire, England to John and Mary Arden Shakespeare (Waller). William started his writing
during the time period where individuality and freedom of choice were put emphasis on. This
lifestyle greatly influenced a vast majority of his works and his contributions to the English
language. Shakespeare has written over thirty seven plays, his most famous being Romeo and
Juliet. He was a master of dramatic language and played with words and their meanings in a way
that could rarely be forgotten, once heard or read. Shakespeare attended class at King s New
School, where he learned several languages including Latin, Greek, French, and Italian. Throughout
the years, Shakespeare encountered many famous authors such as Aesop, Caesar, Cicero, Virgil,
etc. In school, he studied logic, rhetoric, grammar, and the concepts of composition and oratory,

Gender Roles In Sir Gawain And The Green Knight
The fourteenth century was not known for unconventional writing. Moreover, the first attempts at
reform were occurring, causing assimilation and not much thought on sexism or the era s prevalent
misogyny. Yet, writers whether deliberately or unintentionally included gender roles in their text,
as they play a considerable role in all aspects of society. Genderroles are apparent in both the Pearl
Poet and Geoffrey Chaucer s stories. However, the Pearl Poet s Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
fable furthers the sexist patriarchy, while Chaucer s The Miller s Tale actively dismantles
conventional female roles. Both tale s descriptions of females, comments from the male
protagonists, and the character development of each story s most prominent female character
demonstrate the contrasting views in these texts.
When examining Middle Age texts through their gender roles, one must first consider the
descriptive words used to depict the story s males and females. The Pearl Poet s Sir Gawain and
the Green Knight draws upon the era s traditional concepts of male and female roles. This is
exemplified when the fable opens with tales of brave mythological heroes such as world
controlling Romulus and Aeneas, who represent the Middle Age s idealized male roles of strength
and superiority. In contrast, the first female is described through her clothes and delicate external
beauty, objectifying and fetishizing her: Queen Guenevere gaily dressed and placed in the middle,
seated on the upper

  • 5. 500 Word. Describe The Top Three Reasons You Have Chosen 500 word Describe the top three reasons you have chosen osteopathic medicine as your professional choice in becoming a physician (Please use your own description and not one that widely describes the profession). While enrolled in Existence and Reality, a course offered at Allan Hancock College, I was tasked to reflect on my beliefs concerning the seven most prevailing philosophical questions; what is life, what is death, is there a God, is there life after death, why is there so much evil and suffering in the world, and what is the good life? Due to my religious beliefs, I am certain that there is a God, but when talking about the concept of life, I found myself questioning what my purpose was. I have always had a calling to help ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After sustaining a knee injury that required for surgical intervention while in high school, I struggled with recurring ailments throughout my intercollegiate career. It was not until my father, who is an Osteopathic physician, was performing manipulation on me did we begin to diagnose the potential causes. The issue was muscle imbalance and limited flexibility in certain areas of my body that was shifting majority of my weight onto my knees while performing certain movements. This went unnoticed by physicians because while performing examinations the scope was concentrated on the immediate areas around my knee. With the knowledge I obtained through manipulation I have been able to treat my knee ailments by strengthening and lengthening muscles throughout my body. Having this experience helped solidify that if I am to be the physician I aspire to be, it is imperative to be trained in this form of medicine. Professionalism and the ability to gain respect in the community in which you live is of utmost importance as you embark upon a career as a physician. What three professional qualities do you feel a Student Doctor must be able to demonstrate as he/or she makes the transition into the study and practice of medicine. • 7. The Most Beautiful Pieces Of Music How is it possible to create some of the most beautiful pieces of music the world has ever heard and the creator not be able to hear it himself? The world of music has seen many memorable composers such as Bach, Mozart, Chopin, and Vivaldi, but none has as amazing a story as Ludwig Van Beethoven. His life played out like one of his beautiful symphonies, with unimaginable highs, lows, victories, and defeats, (Viegas 5). Ludwig Van Beethoven was an 18th century classical composer famous for his nine symphonies, and is also recognized as one of the cornerstones of Western civilization through the legacy of his music. Ludwig Van Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany. He was the son of Johann, a tenor of the court of the Elector of Cologne, who also taught violin and piano lessons, and the grandson of the man he was named after, who was the music director at the court of the Elector of Cologne. His mother, Maria, was the daughter of a cook and was never truly accepted by Johann s father as his wife because of her social status. It is believed that Johann s marriage to her defied his father. There is no record of his date of birth, but there is a record of the day he was baptised December 17, 1770. In Roman Catholic tradition, a child is baptised the day after their birth, so it is commonly believed that Beethoven s date of birth is December 16, 1770. • 10. Meaning Of The Ancreon Song Francis Scott Key was an American lawyer that had boarded the British ship of their fleet to persuade the British to release one of his friends who had been recently been arrested. Even though he got what he had hoped for, the British refused to let them go. This is due to them already having knowledge of the the attack that was about to occur. Therefore, under the British s watch, the British allowed them to return to their ship. Under the watch of the British, Key witnessed the bombardment on Fort Mc Henry. On the night of September 13, 1814, as he sat and watched, he continued to view the distinct pictures that were there. This includes: clearing smoke, darkness, gunshots, and red. (Brinkley 176) Then later, as he continued to watch what was happening on Fort Mc Henry, Key continued to write his thoughts. Watching this, he thought to himself that the British would win, but in reality, it was an American victory. On September 14, he saw the American flag still flying over the fort. (Siegel and Green 30) While still on the ship, Key put all of his thoughts on paper making it into a poem. He named this poem The Defence of Ft. Mc Henry . His poem was a tune of a older song set to The Anacreon Song . Ralph Tomlinson wrote An Anacreon in Heaven that was used as a tone for Key to write his poem. This song was commonly used for the Anacreontic Society. This club consisted of wealthy men who were named after a poet, Anacreon. His poems mainly focused on love and wine. ... Another character in The Graveyard Book , who has an unordinary characteristic, compared to traditional fantasy characters, is Silas, who is a vampire, but nonetheless, looks after and provides for Bod, as his guardian. This shows how Neil Gaiman s book subverts from traditional characters, because in typical fantastical stories, supernatural characters, such as ghosts and vampires, are constantly portrayed as having a bad or evil nature. In The Graveyard Book , Neil Gaiman most likely subverted from the fantasy genre, to make his book original and unique, rather than to follow the conventional story line. Another reason as to why Neil Gaiman subverted from the fantasy genre, is to show a pleasant and friendly side to supernatural characters, which are often portrayed as evil. During the late 19th century and early 20th century, America increased drastically in industrialization, consumerism, and urbanization. With these increases a Mass Consumerism movement began and effected the middle class more than others. With the massive increase in industrialization and urbanization, Americans living in poverty and with poor jobs were mostly effected negatively than others. In Jacob Riis s book, How the Other Half Lives, and Upton Sinclair s book, The Jungle, it opened the eyes of Americans not living and working in these conditions. After the government and American people witness the horror some citizens must deal with, changes will occur and improve conditions. Mass Consumerism affected American society by persuading Americans to buy certain items and making shopping more convenient. Middle class families were more affected from mass consumerism, because the middle class filled white collared jobs, and this would give them more disposable income to spend on whatever they like. While explaining to the reader the touchiness of departments in Russia, Gogol gives the district police chief as an example: He plainly demonstrated that all the imperial institutions were going to the dogs, and that the Czar s sacred name was being taken in vain; and in proof he appended to the complain a romance, in which the district chief of police is made to appear about once in every ten pages, and sometimes in a downright drunken condition (Gogol 1). They decided to write down possible issues to be listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. Question 2 In 1997, the Kosta Bros could be identified as a large proprietary company. Under CA 2001 s45A (1)*, a proprietary company could be defined when there are less than 51 non employee shareholders. By 1990, there were 30 shareholders existing in the company. Also, it did not raise funds from the public since most of the capital was obtained from the interest bearing debt provided by major banks. Thus, the company was a proprietary company. When we are evaluating the size of a company using CA 2001 s45A (2)*, Kosta Bros employed 85 EFT staffs, which were greater than 50*; the gross assets obtained were $19m, which were greater than $12.5m; the gross operating revenue was $20m, which was less than $25. When two of three thresholds are achieved, the proprietary company is regarded as large*. It starts out as a benign tumour but has the tendency to progress onto a malignant form as in the case of our patient. (Flemming et al., 2012). However, the cells seem to remain at the site of origin of proliferation (well circumscribed) without any evidence of metastasis suggesting that the tumour is still in its benign form such as the FAP. ImageA higher power view showing that the cells do not display any structural abnormality and the tumour is seen to have well shaped glands which possess several nuclei, further proving that the tumour is still in its benign stage. • 40. Berlin Argument Of Negative Liberty Analysis Analysis of Berlin s Argument of Negative Liberty: Berlin considers negative liberty as the area within which a man can act unobstructed by others (Stewart, 90). The obstructions contain not only physical limitations but also human involvement. We should take the example of cab driver within the automobile who agrees to the region s government tacitly by mere residence and also via enjoying the ups and downs of the daily life. Now, in this process of driving we cannot say that the friction, gravity or the climatic disaster are the cause of limiting the freedom of the driver but the actual cause are the speeds limits, lack of money to buy a vehicle and the driving habits of others. However it should be understood that in civilized society, there is give and take freedom, which in the case will lead to the agreeing if most of the people that safety of others produces more of a benefit than the loss of freedom from traffic laws. It is because of the assumption by them that traffic laws are civil and just since it produces more greater good. Now, take the other example of money and poverty. Berlin feels that the poverty can be defined in several ways. But, we need to analyse the human influence, without personal disability in order to truly consider an infringement upon freedom. Money limits freedom as it creates strain and economic inequality which in turn, leads to poverty and limits the person s freedom to make choices. Adhering to a strict sense of the concept of negative freedom, money does impose upon the inhabitants who cannot obtain the capital to thrive in a barter free society. John T Bookman provides a vivid picture in that sense. He explain that money opened the doors to an emergence of economic classes, which strain relations among people and that human relations in the state of nature have been strained by economic inequality, and a desire to protect property is a major reason for quitting the state of nature and instituting civil society (Bookman, 364). Now, it is evident that the notion of negative freedom comes with the cavet that it is impossible to create a fine line from which a truly free society can be established. Berlin states, we cannot remain absolutely free, and must give up some ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. The Machine Stops, By E. M. Forster The Machine Stops Literary Analysis In the short story The Machine Stops , E. M. Forster gives us an insight into a world where technology is in every aspect of our lives. Vashti, the main character, must struggle with her internal conflict and her relations hip with the technology in their world. In addition, Forster uses the central theme to explain our dependence on technology. He also uses symbolism and irony to contribute to this central idea. Through this futuristic setting, Forster develops the fundamental concept of blind faith and its influence in our everyday lives and choices. Firstly, we are introduced to Vashti as a woman about five feet high, with a face as white as fungus. Although in her society she is the perfect size, in our terms her body type could be described as a blob . She would just be pile of flesh and this is due to the lack movement in their lives. As a music lecturer, Vashti is a star citizen in the eyes of her society; however, she nly lectures on already established views of Australian music. Tending to go along with the norms of society, she is a conformist and has no problem firmly believing in what is considered normal . For example, when Kuno declares that he would like to go outside to the surface, she argues that it is contrary to the spirit of the age. This means that she solely disapproves because it is against the ideas of the society. Being quite firm in her beliefs, she can be fairly stubborn as well. If she makes up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Heterozygotes, which have the wild type phenotype, have normal sight which gives them the advantage of finding a mate and have a better success with attracting a mate with their courtship song (Kyriacou et al, 1978). The male heterozygous Drosophila had a better advantage at mating than the homozygotes, which were the ebony, and therefore we predict there will be more wild type by the end of the experiment. METHODS: In this experiment, the instructor provided us with 30 ebony individuals and 20 wild type individuals. In order to get an exact amount of each type, we anesthetized the flies and counted them off by gently using a fine point paint brush. Then all 50 Drosophila were put into a population cage which had a lid that had six holes for the centrifuge tubes. Two food tubes and four clean, empty tubes were added on the first day. Each food tube consisted of half a cup full of food mixed with 6 7 milliliters of water. This was the fly medium. The food should turn blue once the water is added. Each tube was labeled with a number and with the date. Every two to three days we added one more food tube until all 6 tubes contained the fly medium. After all 6 tubes were filled, the following days after we exchanged the first food tube with a new food tube. At the end of the experiment, we fed the flies with a total of 8 food tubes. Then the flies were anesthetized, again. At the end of this four week lab, the number of living ebony and wild ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. The Importance Of Effective Communication Skills I have developed my effective communication skills over the past few years whilst working both my current jobs; Vue Cinema and Sainsbury s, whilst studying Law at Leeds Beckett University. In order to effectively communicate with others I believe it is essential to listen to, not just hear people s views. This includes what words have been spoken, but also how they have been spoken, taking note both the person s body language and tone of voice. An example of when I have utilised this skill is when I notice customers struggling with their packing at Sainsbury s and I volunteer to help them, even if I am currently not serving them. Customers often do not ask for help, but I assess the situation through a customer s body language and facial expressions to determine whether to help. Packing, even though a seemingly small task, involves constant effective communication, this allows myself to understand the customer s requirements and needs as to how and what should be packed. Effective communication builds a colleague customer relationship, in result creating a trust between them and the company. Effective communication also involves being aware of others emotions i.e. being sympathetic to other people s misfortune and using empathy to put yourself in the other persons shoes . I use first names where appropriate, this helps to build a relationship with the person I am talking to, making them my equal. Central Pacific laborers mainly consisted of the Chinese, while those in Union Pacific were mainly Irish. Both companies gave their workers harsh working conditions. The railroad made a major impact on transcontinental transportation but was faced by some dangers and difficulties. • 55. Gender Roles In Sir Gawain And The Green Knight The fourteenth century was not known for unconventional writing. Moreover, the first attempts at reform were occurring, causing assimilation and not much thought on sexism or the era s prevalent misogyny. Yet, writers whether deliberately or unintentionally included gender roles in their text, as they play a considerable role in all aspects of society. Genderroles are apparent in both the Pearl Poet and Geoffrey Chaucer s stories. However, the Pearl Poet s Sir Gawain and the Green Knight fable furthers the sexist patriarchy, while Chaucer s The Miller s Tale actively dismantles conventional female roles. Both tale s descriptions of females, comments from the male protagonists, and the character development of each story s most prominent female character demonstrate the contrasting views in these texts. When examining Middle Age texts through their gender roles, one must first consider the descriptive words used to depict the story s males and females. The Pearl Poet s Sir Gawain and the Green Knight draws upon the era s traditional concepts of male and female roles. This is exemplified when the fable opens with tales of brave mythological heroes such as world controlling Romulus and Aeneas, who represent the Middle Age s idealized male roles of strength and superiority. In contrast, the first female is described through her clothes and delicate external beauty, objectifying and fetishizing her: Queen Guenevere gaily dressed and placed in the middle, seated on the upper ...
