Identification Of Civilian Population By The Hampshire...
The document is an from an archive taken from the Hampshire Record Office which includes a
government poster published in Britain during the time when WW2 had just began and evacuation
process had started to take place. Whilst carrying out research it is important to be able to
understand more about the context of this time. To some extent this poster is able to help us with
our understandingsurrounding some of the details about the evacuation process as well as being
able to analyse some of the information that the government provided the citizens with during this
time. Whilst trying to understand and develop my research on evacuees and how records were
kept and handled, this document specifically is able to provide some insight into the different
areas across Great Britain and possibly develop upon this in order to compare and contrast research
that is compiled over a period of time.
The title of this document is Important announcement Dispersal of civilian population , this clearly
shows us that the purpose of the document was to inform civilians and to provide them with
important information that was necessary for the majority of the public to read and understand
attentively. The first section of the poster is titled, Children under 15 . In this section of the poster,
it addresses the issue of children under 15 travelling and how they must be accompanied by their
mothers or another responsible adult at all times. This suggests that the

Essay on The Back to the Future Trilogy
The Back to the future trilogy is by far my favorite of all time; especially the first one, that movie
alone is on my Mount Rushmore of movies. The trilogy is about a teenager who accidently travels
back in time prevents his parents from getting married which then prevents him from being born,
so now he has to figure out a way to get back to the futureand get his parents back together. The
entire trilogy is great; even thought it has its bad moments, but hey, what trilogy does not? The
series is a clever and fun string of movies that leaves you with a good feeling after watching them.
Now with that being said, when you make a movie about time travelthere are bound to be some
mistakes and Back to the future is no exception. I can go... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now with that easy one out the way, time for the real brain busting stuff. At the end out the
second movie and beginning of the third, Doc (Christopher Lloyd) gets struck by a bolt of
lighting while flying still in the air and gets sent back to 1855 while Marty is on the street and
sees this happen and is now stuck again in 1955. Right after that happens Marty gets a letter
from Doc stating specific intrusions on where he left the time machine hidden and how to fix it.
Shortly after Marty finds out that Doc was killed a week after he wrote the letter. Marty then
decides to travel back to 1855 and save Doc. In the process of going back to 1855 he cuts a gas line
so now the Delorean has no gas and Doc and Marty spend the rest of the third movie tiring to find
a way to get the Delorean up to 88mph to be able to travel back home. Here is where there is three
major plot holes.
The first one is if Marty and the younger Doc find out about older Docs death in 1955, wouldn t
the older doc already know about it? Yet in the third movie when Marty tells the older doc about
this in 1855 he seems shocked as if he didn t already know about this in 1955. Second, when
Marty travels back to 1855 he cuts a gas line on the landing and now is stuck without any gas for
the Delorean.
The problem here is what happened to the Delorean that doc hid in the

Vashti s The Machine
The Machine has created a society that questions all forms of human phenomenon that were
prevalent before the installation of technology, such as physical contact. Any action that cannot be
accomplished through the Machine will actively be avoided by society. Vashti is completely
shrouded by the ideology of the Machine. She, much like the rest of society, believes that physical
contact with another human is barbaric and obsolete. Technology has created an environment where
interactions with physical beings horrifies society. While Vashti hesitantly traveled to see Kuno, she
experienced the discomfort of human contact. When Vashti swerved away from the sunbeams with
a cry, she behaved barbarically she put out her hand to steady her. How dare

Atkinson s Synthesis Essay
Use at least five examples from the reading to support your answer.
All supporting evidence from Atkinsons thesis is mainly supported by the changes in tactics and
the outlook the Allies held during the war. The first example is when Atkinson wrote about how
the North African war became a ripple effect for the allies ...first, North Africa; then, Italy; and
finally the invasion of Normandy and the subsequent campaigns across France,... all show the
progress the Allies made in ground after the completed the North African War. The second example
was when America actually forced to improve their military power as they entered this war. ...North

The Three Witches In Shakespeare s Macbeth
One night, which was a dark and stormy night, Macbeth and Banquo were walking home. While on
this walk home, they ran into three witches. These three witches were sisters and the three witches
were speaking in rhymes. In their rhymes, they were saying that Macbeth would be thane of
cawdor and that Banquo would be the father of kings of Scotland. Ross showed up to tell Macbeth
that the old king of cawdor was a traitor and that he was going to be the new king. Macbeth
bought into the lies, and it would be his belief of the lies that would be the start of his downfall.
Macbeth was a loyal general to Duncan and served him well. He would lead a campaign that
would bring him victory. Macbeth was influenced by his wife, Lady Gruoch, to fulfill the prophecy
and killthe king. With the influence of his wife, Macbeth plots and kills Duncan. When Duncan
came to Macbeth s castle to give him a friendly visit, Macbeth stabs him with a dagger. When
Macduff finds the dead king s body, Macbeth kills the guards and accuses them of killing the king.
When king Duncan s kids, Fleance and Donalbain, find out what has happened, they fled out of
scotland. They were living in fear that they too would be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

was cut out of his mother instead of being born in the normal way. Macduff explains to Macbeth
that if he surrenders he will face much ridicule and will be dishonored. Macbeth, even though he
didn t think that he could win, was very prideful and arrogant. He could not just give up. Macbeth

Design s Influence On People With Dementia
The environmental quality has an influence on people with dementia; consequently good design
can help support these individuals. Good environmental design features comprise of navigation,
signage, lighting, flooring and seating as identified in the Small changes can make a big difference
document. A restaurant will be assessed in these areas and modifications proposed as recommended
through beginning research. The restaurant is a popular senior lunch spot in a community with 130,

The lighting modifications suggested would be a bright tablecloth to reduce the glare from the
tables, ambient lighting and increase the restaurants back artificial lights equal to fifteen to twenty
one meter high candles. Current research provides empirical support for these modifications. Both
Woodbridge et al. (2016) and Marquardt, Bueter, Motzek (2014) reviewed three studies about
impact of lighting on care outcomes. These studies indicated enhanced light intensity and visual
contrast related to improved food intake and higher level of luminance lightening might be effective
in functional abilities and oral intake. Accordingly, by increased lightening in the back of the
restaurant it could improve the dining experience, but more research is still necessary to further
support lighting in good

An Analysis Of So Much Water So Close At Home
In Carver s short story, So Much Water So Close to Home, three men go to Naches River for a
fishing trip and encounter a dead young woman in the river. Aware that the corpse is in the river,
they continue on with their fishing trip, not reporting it until they travel back home. Carver
illustrates the story through the eyes of Claire, the wifeof the fisher. Carver depicts the differences
in male and female roles of a marriageand their psychological similarities, associated with why
there was a need to travel to further waters, when there is So Much Water So Close to Home.
Ordinarily, man is the provider and woman is the nurturer in a marriage. This is contrasted by the
differences of Stuart and Claire s roles as husbandand wife. Man s role in a home is to be a
gatherer of not only physical labors but of answers. Claire is constantly seeking answers as to
why her husband waited so long to report the corpse, but he contains no answers for her as he
says you re going to get me riled, (76) making her findings of the truth qualities as the protector
of the household. Their minds as husband and wife functioned separately and in no way
correlated to be a whole as Claire became more consumed by the idea of the dead child. This
consumption is relevant in the way Claire demands her husband to tell her where their son by
asking where is he? Where is Dean? (90) and how she has no trust over him concerning their son
because of the idea of the dead girl. This leads to her

What Is My Greatest Accomplishments
From the first taste of accomplishment we go on to set new goals, and the goals we set aren t
only for the accomplishments and accolades that come with them but most importantly for self
contention to be the best we can be, to be great. Well my first taste of accomplishment came
from an orange sphere and a hoop as a child. On my 5th birthday, my old man brought home a
basketball hoop, not knowing what it was, I was intrigued at first sight. Looking back, as an avid
sports lover now, I can tell you that whether it had been a basketball, soccer ball, baseball, lacrosse
ball, football, a punching bag, a pool, or a track, the first taste of accomplishment comes from the

and that was most important. We found ourselves in the fourth quarter up by two points, with
1min 30seconds to go I had 20 of our team s points. Norristown was on a role scoring 10
unanswered points to put themselves back in the game. Our coach called a time out with one
minute left. The plan was to get me the ball, for an open shot, coach drew up the play and we
tried to carry it out. Our plan didn t fall through and Norristown got the defensive rebound, going
down the court to score 2 points on a toughly contested mid range shot. It was our ball with 35
seconds on the clock. We tried to chew the clock and get a good shot off, and we did just that. I
scored the record breaking basket with 7 seconds left. Norristown had the ball down two with
very little time on the clock. We knew we just needed one stop. One stop and we d become state
champions forever. Norristown inbounded the ball and drove down court, we played them tight
trying not to give up a three pointer. No points we we re champions, 2pts would tie it and take us
to overtime, 3points... well, 3pts would end our season, and we d come up short on being the

Descriptive Essay About Overcoming
Overcoming
Okay, so to warm up tumbling, I ll have you guys touch in this order... my coach Brooke told us but
I had already stopped listening.
I couldn t hear over the pounding of the blood rushing through my head. My teammates and I are
about to warm up our tumbling passes and I just got mine last week. Now, I started to overthink.
What if I fall on my head and die? What if I chicken out and land flat on my back? I would be
utterly humiliated... and in pain but mainly humiliated.
Lauren, it s your turn to warm up, Brooke said snapping me out of my thoughts.
Okay Lauren, you can do this. Just don t die and you ll be fine, I said to myself hoping that I was
right. The music stopped and I sauntered onto the floor. It was navy blue and not as malleable as
ours. My heart beat started beating heavier and more intense. BA BUMP BA BUMP BA BUMP. I
reached the corner of the floor and wiped my hands on my legs. I looked at my coach and she
gave me a reassuring smile. I took a deep breath and started to sprint across the floor. I felt the
satisfying thud of my hands making contact with the floor and my feet landing back on the floor.
All I had to do know was wait for the next routine to finish so I could do it again.
The routine finished and I strode back onto the floor but this time with more confidence. I wanted
to get it over with swiftly so I started running a second after I had reached the corner. This time, my
hands weren t the only thing that touched the ground. My

Reasons Why Single Moms
The good news is that you have the power to fix whatever isn t working in your life. It won t

the work, you can take control of your life. I truly believe that with hard work, persistence, and a

experience, the five reasons listed below are some of the most common reasons why single

Why President Truman Decided to Drop Atomic Bombs on...
Why President Truman Decided to Drop Atomic Bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki At 02:45
August 6th 1945, the B 29 Superfortress the Enola Gay took off from the specially lengthened
North Field on the Island of Tinian in the Marianas. The plane piloted by Colonel Paul Tibbets
was 7 tons. At 0815 hours the bomb doors of the B 29 opened and flying at approximately
32,000 ft the uranium based atom bomb code named Little Boy was unleashed upon the city of
Hiroshima. Over 70,000 men women and children were killed by blast alone. And over the next
half century approximately another 40,000 would die from related illnesses. With this 70,000 were
wounded at Hiroshima. The co pilot of the Enola Gay could see,... Show more content on

There are four main reasons why Truman ordered the dropping of the two atomic bombs on
Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I will now discuss each reason in more detail with factual evidence that
justifies his decision. By April 1945 the Japanese armed forces had been eliminated from
everywhere apart from their home soil and parts of northern Manchuria in China. The
Americans had already taken some of the Japanese homeland, Okinawa approximately 300 miles
south of Kyushu had been taken. At a joint war plans committee it was concluded that 46,000
Americans would die in the invasion of Kyushu and Honshu. The rate of wounded to fatalities
was estimated to be 3 to 1, so 175,000 US casualties were not out of the question. However these
early reports were rejected by George Marshall, the army s chief of staff. Another estimate was
put forward by Admiral Leahy, he concluded that it would be unlikely that any less than 35% of
the invasion force would be killed, this would work out to be 250,000 American dead. This was
estimated in August when the Japanese strength on Kyushu was 14 infantry divisions and
according to US intelligence reports, there would be another 2,250,000 army workers, 1,300,000
navy workers and 250,000 special garrison troops and a volunteer militia officially put at
28,000,000. The decisive battles

Being A Loyalist Essay
As proved today, we should clearly stay under Britain s rule. Let s not forget that being a loyalist
was very risky and unsafe. Whenever someone was a loyalist they were put into danger because
patriots were known to overreact. For example, when Thomas Hutchinson revealed he was a
loyalist, patriots burnt down his house instead of being civilized. Also, you could be imprisoned
by the patriots just for being a loyalist. The patriots felt that being a loyalist was wrong and would
imprison you just for having that opinion. Along with being imprisoned, you had to pay a huge
amount of money to get out. This goes to show that many people were afraid to be loyalists
because of the consequences and how violent the patriots were. This also shows that... Show more

They protested for taxation without representation simply because they didn t want to pay taxes,
and the protests weren t peaceful. One example of their violence is the Boston Tea Partyand The
Boston Massacre. The Boston Massacre wasn t even a massacre despite the name. This was
when some patriots started throwing snowballs at soldiers and the soldiers had to defend
themselves from the patriots, so the patriots were shot. The Boston Tea Party was when a very
small tax was placed on tea and the patriots weren t happy about that. So instead of paying the
very small tax, they went onto the tea ships and dumped the tea into the ocean. The taxes would
overall help us in the end, because they also helped with protection and a better military. For their
protests on Taxation without representation , they were protesting something that wasn t
completely true. Actually, it was false because there was representation. Each colony had
someone that could go to Parliament and speak on the colony s behalf. As for the taxes, they
were placed on all of Britain, not just the colonies, yet the patriots were not satisfied and decided
not to pay the taxes even though they were cheaper than what Britain had to pay. May I remind
you that the taxes were being placed because of the land we have. The patriots want to go to war
again which would not only result in an estimated

Ancient Greece And Rome During The World
Ancient Greece and Rome are some of the most famous time periods in the world, but what
influenced them? Ancient Greece lasted roughly from 1000 400 B.C.E while ancient Rome was
from 753 B.C. 476 A.D (Cole and Symes, 75). The Greek alphabet was influenced by Phoenician
sea traders and their art was mostly influenced by Egypt and western Asia. On the other hand,
Rome was influenced by the Greek and derived the alphabet, many of their religious beliefs, and
much of their art (Cole and Symes, 147). Ancient Greeceand Rome were influenced by the Ancient
Near East sedentary societies through art, religion, and architecture. Greece was the first society
that was male dominated . Also, sexuality was a part of everyday life for Greeks. If home owners
did not offer hospitality to certain groups of people, then they would be sentenced to death (Garcia
Lecture 2/3/16). The Greeks had extremely strict rules with education and training. Greece is also
known well for their world famous philosophers such as Aristotle, Socrates, Plato, and much more.
Ancient Romestarted as a small town in central Italy, but developed into a vast empire, including
continental Europe, Britain, much of western Asia, northern Africa and the Mediterranean islands.
Although Rome was influenced by many aspects of Greek life, they downplayed their influence in
mythology, preferring to emphasize their alleged descent from the Trojans (Cole and Symes, 147).
The social structure of Rome was based on hereditary,

The Importance Of Power In Antigone
Today, we see a lot of people in power. Some of those people know how to use their power.
Others do not. Power in cases throughout history or in literature is good while other times that
power is abused and turns out to be dangerous which leads to bad. However, today, we are seeing
power in the bad light . With power being taken to another level for the worse or power that
causes all out chaos, power shows the bad in people. Antigone is a great way to show how power is
taken to another level for the worse. The king of this book, Creon, rose to the throne by the deaths
of two of his nephews, who fought for the throne which led to their ultimate deaths and crowned
Creon king. Creon, who had a favoritism towards Eteocles, one of the nephews, gave him an
honorable burial while Polynices, another one of his nephews, did not even get a proper burial,
therefore leaving Antigone, sister of Eteocles and Polynices, to go against Creon s law which
forbade anyone to even show the smallest amount of pity towards Polynices and try to give him
any sort of burial. While she did not bury her brother, Creon did find out that Antigone happened to
throw dirt on Polynices, which was a form of showing respect to him. Creon then took Antigone
into captivity to punish her for breaking the law. Ismene, another character and sister to Antigone
followed along with Antigone to carry out this task, was also taken into captivity, although she
denied helping Antigone since she was afraid of Creon

really turned his life around and was able to get out of such a dark place. I also felt grateful and
more appreciative of my life because depression is a real thing that so many people experience
and i couldn t imagine going through some of the things he did and having to be that strong. I
also really liked how even though this story covered a serious topic, there were points that made
me laugh and were comical. In addition to that, all of the characters were really complex and
had different personality traits that came out, so it made the book even more realistic. One
thing i didn t enjoy about this book was that at some points i felt bored because it seemed a bit
repetitive. For example, each day of craigs life was the same and nothing new was really
happening, but i think the author did that to help the reader understand craig s feelings about his
life better by dragging the days on. However by no means was this book a boring story and i ve
already recommended it to a couple of friends! I can definitely see myself reading it a second

A Business With A Second Patent For Electric Motors
In 1895 John Lincoln resolved to open a business with a second patent for electric motors. He
founded this business with just 200 dollars. His start up cost was the earnings he received from
redesigning a single motor for Herbert Dow. His business launched out of a small one room
factory. In 1906 he spread his wings and erected a new 3 story factory. He filled those three stories
with 30 new employees and the sales shot through the roof.
Shortly after, his younger brother came on board as the Vice President and General Manager. John
was an engineer and inventor by heart so he ultimately detached from his company and handed over
the reins to his younger brother James. James initially came into the company in 1907 after leaving

The golden rule for the company originated from James s Christian and his principles. This led to
the motto which is The actual is limited, the possible is immense . Analyzing this gives the
assumption that what they currently have and can do is currently constrained, but that possibilities
over time are vast and endless. Under no circumstances was his belief system ever placed onto his
employees or customers. This was just how his belief system made it obvious to envision where his
company could go.
James had a particular view on the incentive management plan. This was directed at the
stakeholders. They did not earn their bonuses and were considered absent from the whole project.
They received undeserved profits from the company who worked hard for the products. The
company was focused on the customers and employees before they were concerned with the
stakeholders.

The Mistakes Of Hester Prynne And Monica Lewinsky
Public humiliation has changed immensely weighing heavily on the creation of the internet
introducing the idea of online cyberbullying as opposed to scaffolding in a town square. As
modern society revels in putting people on a public pedestal, the scaffold that Hester Prynne is
put onto marks her as no longer a person with feelings, just as a negative figure people look upon
to make themselves feel higher. After the news broke of Monica Lewinsky s scandal, people no
longer recognized her as a young adultwho makes mistakes, but was treated like a person with no
emotions and incapable of being affected by her mistakes. As the story went on throughout the
internet, she was only represented as a person through the mistake she made just as Hester Prynne
was recognized for the crime she committed. Publicly shaming Hester Prynne and Monica
Lewinsky is and was a way for people to make themselves feel better and place themselves higher in

Stockholm Syndrome Or Norrmalmstorg Syndrome
Love can form in many different ways; maybe from first sight, childhood memories, recent times
or kidnapping wait what? As ridiculous as it sounds, falling in love for your captor or abuser has
been an actual phenomenon that unfortunately exists in our world; Often called Stockholm
Syndrome, Or Norrmalmstorg Syndrome , it is a psychological condition that makes the captive
believe in an alliance with their captor. On August 23, 1973 in Stockholm, Sweden 4 bank
workers were taken in hostage by Jan Erik Olsson for a 6 day stand off with the police at the
Kreditbaken until the workers were finally released; Jan Erik was immediately put under arrest
after surrendering. However, once the captives were freed, they showed shocking behavior of
showing sympathy and made positive relationships with Jan Erik; this baffled people when the
captives started acting like this considering the fact that Olsson and his accomplice Clark Olofsson
tortured them with nooses and dynamite sticks and threatened to kill them many times during those
131 hours. Gaining the name thanks to Nils Bejerot, a criminologist and psychiatrist, after he
analyzed the victims brains. A year later in 1974 came another case of the syndrome; Patty Hearst,
the granddaughter and heiress of William Randolph Hearst, was held captive by the Symbionese
Liberation Armyand brainwashed into accepting their ideas. In April she was caught robbing a
bank in San Francisco via CCTV and was sentenced to 7 years of prison in

Research Paper On Everyman
The morality play Everyman follows the traditional layout of a medieval social drama. The
makeup of a social drama consists of a breach, crisis, redressive action, reintegration and a schism.
The breach of the play comes when God calls upon Everyman and Everyman realizes that he in
turn lives a sinful Christian life. To fulfill his Christian duties Everyman attends his day of
reckoning. Godstates; Drowned in sin, they know me not for their God; / In worldly riches is all
their mind, / They fear not my righteousness, the sharp rod. (Everyman 26 8). The calling of
Everyman to his day of reckoning signifies in the social drama that the particular issue is what
needs changing. The breach leads to the crisis in a social drama. The crisis in... Show more content

The dramaturge used the arrangement of the sermon to inform the medieval Christians that they
needed to live a Christian like life in order to ensure an enjoyable after life. The ritualistic use of
confession by Everyman as a way to teach the communitas the importance of freeing themselves
before their final day of reckoning. The dramaturge s use of penance throughout the morality play
exemplified the importance of following the traditional Christian religion and reminded members of
the communitas to not go astray to a reformist religion such as the Hussites. Everyman s encounter
with both the sacred and demonic teaches the audience that death is always upon them and that
they must be ready for its call at any time. The desertion of Everyman by Cousin, Kindred, and
Fellowship through the use of dark play provides the communitas with a understanding of what it
would be like for them to die and have parts of their life torn away from them as Everyman lost the
relationship with these characters when they would not follow him to his death. The location of the
communitas breaks the wall of the typical separation of performers from audience members. The
dramaturge uses the location of the communitas as a performative structure unto itself. Lastly, the
dramaturge uses the setup of a traditional social drama in the design of his morality play. Both to
ensure the communitas would understand how to live like a true Christian and to prevent the
reform of other religions. Readers of traditional medieval dramas typically regarded the printed text

Cigarette Litigation
In August 1970 a leading tobacco defense attorney, David R. Hardy, wrote a confidential letter
warning that indiscreet comments by industry scientists, including references to biologically active
components of cigarette smoke and the search for a safer cigarette, constitute a real threat to the
continued success in the defense of smoking and health litigation. The actual knowledge on the part

Moore and Scruggs had a number of secret weapons. They took charge of explosive tobacco
industry internal documents that no one else would touch. And they protected two of the most
important whistleblowers in the history of the tobacco wars: Jeffrey Wigand, the first high level
tobacco executive to turn against the companies; and Merrell Williams, a paralegal who secretly

The two men held another trump card. They offered a deal to Bennett LeBow, CEO of Liggett

for financial stability. They also managed to get a back channel to President Clinton and Senate

How the Concept of Diversity Rises with Globalization
Introduction
Diversity is generally defined as acknowledging, understanding, accepting, valuing and celebrating
differences among people with respect to age, class, ethnicity, gender, physical and mental ability,
race, sexual orientation, spiritual practice, and public assistance status (Etsy,et al. 1995).
The idea of diversity emerged when globalisation came into the picture in 1990 91 (Bhatia, 2008).
As globalization began to affect organisations, there was a coverage of workplace from diverse
countries, cultures, values, and styles that presented tremendous opportunities as well as challenges
(Bhatia, 2008). Organisations can have the ultimate lead in the market place if effective human
resources are in place. Now in the 21st century, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When diversity management was first introduced, the system was guided by the melting pot
approach. Assuming that the minority will succumb to the cultural beliefs, values, and lifestyles of
the majority but upon further observation, organisations begin to realise that employees do not set
aside their lifestyles, believes, traditions or work styles regardless of what the dominant culture was
in the organisation (Bhatia, 2008). Therefore, it is preferred to respect, understand and value
cultural differences in an organisation instead of trying to change them. Through those difference,
management has to practice and learn to adapt to the life of the diverse groups.
The task of managing diversity is to create a comfortable environment for all employees to work in
so that they can be effective in their jobs. It is important for top managements to strongly
emphasize on this diverse culture as a goal and include diversity initiatives in their business
strategies.

Military Actions Of The American Civil War
Throughout history the effectiveness of specific military actions have been debated and discussed.
Military tacticians and scholars have pondered the overall completion of objectives and the
comprehensive values presented by the action. This debate has occurred for many of the actions
taken in the American Civil War. In terms of achievement the March to the Sea was one of the most
effective military actions of the Civil War. Historians may debate the level of destruction that union
soldiers imposed on the civilian populace during the march, but Sherman s desire to rip the heart
out of the Confederate war effort succeeded. General William Tecumseh Shermanunderstood the
effectiveness of bringing home the war to the people of the south. He understood how to make an
impact on the southern desire to continue the fight. Sherman s march affected the southern psyche
and damaged the will to fight, while destroying valuable supplies and material.
In late 1864 the American Civil Warwas still grinding on. Since 1861, hundreds of thousands of
Americans had been fighting each other in bloody battles all across the country. The confederates
were becoming more desperate but still had a great deal of fight left in them. They were losing
supplies and manpower but the war could drag on for years. The battles had developed into a war
of attrition that may have lasted for many more years. A northern general that understood this, and
knew a way to hasten the war s end, was William Tecumseh

Residents feel that the youths hanging out is just a brewing pot for trouble. This problem can
be fixed by many members of the community with one major idea, give the kids something to do!
The town already has in place what is referred to as Teen Nights, held by the Hasbrouck Heights
Recreation Commission. The problem with these Teen Nights is that it involves a minute
amount of the teens in this area. It involves only 7th and 8th graders. What about the high
schoolers? They re the ones who get bored most easily. To resolve this problem, the need for
community support is at its peak. If different organizations would pitch in and sponsor some
special nights for the teens to get together, there would be fewer nights for kids to roam the
streets. The churches could pitch in by opening up their basements, for a few nights throughout
the year and hold different functions, like dances or have guest speakers or comedians. The
YMCA program that is offered to children in the elementary school could be expanded to the
twelfth grade, not only providing a place for youth to go, but a place where they can be active.

Combining this research, with the brief information about Trudy s attendance at a residential
school allows us to infer to her alcoholism is a coping mechanism which enables her to live with
the traumatic childhood memories from her residential schooling. Apart from Trudy s
alcoholism, her character presents several aspects and behaviours which can be summarized as
a lack of proper parenting skills. Within this novel, there is little explanation for Trudy s
deficiency in this area. As such, the reader is left with the most probable explanation being her
alcohol abuse. This may seem the most probable considering when intoxicated she becomes
highly abusive towards her daughter, going as far as to tell her to shut up you whore (128).
However, through the historical context provided by research, information points to another
explanation for her absence of parenting skills. When a child is placed in an environment like a
residential school which was beyond notorious for its inadequate parenting, parenting skills are
often deficient (Brasfield 2001). Bearing in mind the absence of remotely proper parenting skills
at residential schools, there is a strong amount of evidence suggesting Trudy s lack of skill in this
area stems from her attendance at a residential school. Charles Brasfield s research suggests
residential schooling adversely affects its attendee s future ability to parent considering residential

lower middle class. Not only did he write about the future; he also made several correct predictions.
H.G. Wells is sometimes known as the father of futurism (biography.com). He managed to predict
World War II (biography.com). He also predicted the tank, military aircraft, and the atomic bomb
(biography.com). The modern idea of a Martian comes from The War of the Worlds. H.G. Wells
was a man who pushed the limits of imagination. From a poorly educated boy to one of the greatest
authors of all time truly is a truly astounding change. Influenced by his surroundings, he created
worlds unto himself. He truly shaped the ideas the future and left those who knew him in awe.

Notes On The Bond Bikers
Bikers are strange. They are tough, frightening, and sometimes a little crazy, but coming from a
biker, I can tell you: they are crazy in a completely sane way. The bond bikers share is a strong
one. Bikers are brothers, and it does not take much to create this bond. Strangers can become
friends overnight with the sole commonality of riding. Your background, your history, your
beliefs, none of it matters to them. What truly matters to them is whether or not you ride.
Obviously, I do not mean one of those biker gangs who have terrorized the community; I am
referring to anyone who may ride, it could be Mary Sue, who rides her little scooter to Sunday
pottery class or Big John, who rides The Hog across the country among all of us, for inexplicable
reasons, we share a bond. I realize it seems like I have no idea what I am talking about,
considering how little I match the typical Biker persona as a college freshman. Conversely, I can
assure you: I am a biker. Although the only real qualification to be a biker is motorcycle
ownership, there is an unusual coincidence among bikers a characteristic all bikers share.
Something about riding a bike changes you. Bikers possess a certain maturity unlike anything
else. I do not know if it has to do with confronting your own mortality, or the feeling of freedom
you get when escaping the trivialities of life. It could have something to do with the brotherhood
you get from fellow bikers, or if the experience puts everything else

The Calcutta Chromosome Character Analysis
In The Calcutta Chromosome, Ghosh provides a multi pronged exploration of the issue of
identity. In this novel, he is concerned with the contrast between the Western and Eastern cultural
mind set of the people, the economic and political vulnerability of women minorities and other
marginalized people. He is concerned with identity at its most basic level that is a whole human

has exhausted its food source. When it has devoured a blood cell, it dies and its offspring s flood

Murugan s life is to observe and bring out the medical history of Malaria to the world. We could see

Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia
Title:
Clinical approach to a case of congenital adrenal hyperplasia (Investigations, management and
complications).
Introduction:
Congenital adrenal hyperplasia is a number of autosomal recessive disorders, it is due to
mutations of enzymes responsible for adrenal steroidogenesis. Deficiency of 21 hydroxylase
enzyme is the most common form of CAH, responsible for about more than 90% of the cases. This
limits the ability of adrenal glands to produce the vital hormones cortisol and aldosterone. The
absence of these hormones causes the body to produce excessive androgen which can cause
ambiguous genitalia in female patients.[]

The Parliamentary Power Of Finland
Finland is a parliamentary democracy with a multiparty political system. It has a mixed
presidential and parliamentary system with executive powers divided between the president and
the prime minister. The president is the head of state and the commander in chief of the Defense
Forces who oversees national security and foreign affairs. The president is elected for a term of
six years and may hold up to two consecutive terms maximum. The president s power has been
slightly reduced since the constitutional change in 2000 giving the prime minister, who is
appointed by the president, a little more power. Although its power has weakened, it still plays an
important part in political affairs. The legislative power of Finlandis allocated to the Finnish
Parliament. It consists of 200 members that are elected every 4 years. The Parliament has three
main function; it passes laws, it approves the national budget, and it oversees the government. The
executive power is exercised by the Council of State, which is led by the prime minister. The
Council of State is the government and it has 12 ministries that are responsible for their own
department of the government such as the Ministry of Finance, Justice, etc.
Finland s economy is highly industrialized and very dependent on its exports, primarily on high
tech manufactured goods and its forestry industry. It s so dependent that exported goods make up
nearly a third of Finland s GDP. It s three main importing and exporting partners are

the alternative hypothesis is that there is a relationship between looks and pecks within the feeding

Foreshadowing In Bible
All things considered, God always had in mind one plan for salvation. Since, the promise made
to Adam and Eve in Genesis 3:15 were He says, And I will put enmity between thee and the
woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel
the devil had tried to deceive us with the biggest lie, that there are many ways to come to God. As a
result, most religions view God as a being that modifies according to peoples standards, peoples
view point, peoples believe, and their own interpretation of the Bible. However, that is not how
God runs the universe. In fact, the main reason for God to establish the temple among the Jews

Another key point, is that every sacrifice ceremony was providing just a temporary covering of
once sin, and could never take it away forever. On the other hand, the foreshadowing of the
perfect Lamb, would come to remove sin forever. That is what the temple represented, that there
is one way to heaven, the lamb slain, Jesus Christ. Now, the time has come to have faith in Jesus
Christ for salvation of our souls. The temple is no longer needed. In effect, no longer we need to
wait for the foreshadow of Jesus Christ, we no longer need to slain a sheep to cover our sins, we
no longer need to seek God on an altar, as he dwells within us through the Holy Spirit. God has
never given us a spirit of fear, rather a spirit of faith in Jesus Christ. Under those circumstances,
when Jesus declared, I am the way, is the reason why Jews hated Him. As a result, they were
intolerance with Him and Christians, until this day. The Bible speaks of Jesus Christ becoming the
stumbling rock for the Jews by not accepting his vicarious death. In fact, the incredible thing about
Jesus is that He is the way, the truth and the life no one comes to the father but through

Applications of Noise and Vibration Studies
Applications of Noise and Vibration Studies in all domains presented above have slight variation
depending on the structural architecture, working environment, economics and adherence to
regulations imposed by various authorities. In the domain of railway, Automobile and Aircraft
industry, both exterior noise (into the environment) and interior noise play an important role and
are strictly regulated by norms imposed by various government authorities. In the railway industry,
in addition environmental noise, big attention is being paid on studies on transmission and effect of
ground vibrations in many countries. Aircraft industry, on the other hand has its focus of study on
airframe noise which is transmitted to the environment surrounding the airports and are under strict
regulation by regulatory bodies in all countries. For ships, interior noise and noise transmitted
underwater has been the topic for research over past 40 decades. A brief review of applications of
noise and vibrations studies is presented in subsequent paragraphs. In the railway industry, the
studies are mainly focussed on the mechanism of generation and transmission and control measures
in respect of rolling noise at the wheel rail contact and the aerodynamic noise. The dominant noise
from mainline railways is usually the rolling noise generated by the wheel and rail which is caused
by vibrations of the wheel and track structures, induced at the wheel rail contact point by vertical

Essay about Conflict Resolution
Conflict Resolution
Many people enjoy working or participating in a group or team, but when a group of people work
together chances are that conflicts will occur. Hazleton describes conflict as the discrepancy
between what is the perceived reality and what is seen as ideal (2007). We enter into conflicts
reluctantly, cautiously, angrily, nervously, confidently and emerge from them battered, exhausted,
sad, satisfied, triumphant. And still many of us underestimate or overlook the merits of conflict the
opportunity conflict offers every time it occurs (Schilling, nd.). Conflict does not have to lead to a
hostile environment or to broken relationships. Conflict if resolved effectively can lead to a
positive experience for everyone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Keeping all these in mind can lead to the best solution to solve the conflict.
Change and Expectations People do not always adjust well to change. Oftentimes when change
occurs, conflict will arise. The new boss on the job or the new member of the team may be the
change that brings a conflict. Expectations if not set clearly and held to standard can also lead to
conflict among the team. Expectations must be set from the beginning. Expectations must also be
clear and it must be verified that each team member understands the expectations. If a short coming
on the expectations occurs, then action must be taken immediately. If no action is taken this could
be understood as silent approval and team members will believe that the expectation is no longer
important or required. When conflict does occur, the five models set out in The Thomas Kilmann
Conflict Mode Instrument sets the standards for resolving the conflict. Avoidance Avoidance is
defined as an act or practice of avoiding or withdrawing from something (Merriam Webster.com).
Avoidance may not be the answer if the conflict directly affects the team or the team s goal.
Avoidance is usually used when the conflict is irrelevant, relationships are at stake, more important
issues are pressing, when one party is more emotionally involved, or when more information is
needed (Culbertson, 2000). In avoidance the parties involved agree to place

Known and Suspected Cause of Manic Depressive Disorder
Biological Causes of Manic Depressive Disorder There are no known humanistic or Socio
Cultural explanations of manic depressive disorder and no exact causes of manic disorder.
However, there are contributing factors that could potentially be causes (Mayo Clinic Staff,
2017). Manic depressive disorder can run in families and can be caused by genetic factors (May
Clinic Staff, 2017). It has been discovered that about 50% of people diagnosed with this disorder
also has a family member with a mood disorder (Bressert, 2016). Usually, if a parent has this
disorder, the child is has a 10% 15% chance of developing the disorder. However, if both parents
have manic disorder, then the chances increase to 30% 40% (Bressert, 2016). Manic disorder is
categorized as a biological disorder that occurs in the brain. It is caused by neurotransmitters
dysfunctioning throughout the brain. Types of neurotransmitters can include: norepinephrine,
serotonin, etc... Since this is a biological disorder, it can become active by itself or by
psychological stress and social interactions (Bressert, 2016).
Behavioral Causes of Manic Depressive Disorder
Environmental factors can also contribute to activating this disorder. Life events can activate this
disorder, along with altered health habits, alcohol and drug abuse, or an inefficiency of hormones in

The Importance Of Time In The Military
The military, in any country, has a habit of wanting you to show up on time for work, formation,

similar to those of what a civilian employer might hold. Also the simple fact that it s part of the
job. Many reasons contribute to why you must be on time in the military. Be it the oath you
swore, the Uniform Code of Military Justice, trying to get promoted, accountability or just trying
to stay out of trouble in general. The reasons are many and the people around may never know

  • 2. Identification Of Civilian Population By The Hampshire... The document is an from an archive taken from the Hampshire Record Office which includes a government poster published in Britain during the time when WW2 had just began and evacuation process had started to take place. Whilst carrying out research it is important to be able to understand more about the context of this time. To some extent this poster is able to help us with our understandingsurrounding some of the details about the evacuation process as well as being able to analyse some of the information that the government provided the citizens with during this time. Whilst trying to understand and develop my research on evacuees and how records were kept and handled, this document specifically is able to provide some insight into the different areas across Great Britain and possibly develop upon this in order to compare and contrast research that is compiled over a period of time. The title of this document is Important announcement Dispersal of civilian population , this clearly shows us that the purpose of the document was to inform civilians and to provide them with important information that was necessary for the majority of the public to read and understand attentively. The first section of the poster is titled, Children under 15 . In this section of the poster, it addresses the issue of children under 15 travelling and how they must be accompanied by their mothers or another responsible adult at all times. This suggests that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay on The Back to the Future Trilogy The Back to the future trilogy is by far my favorite of all time; especially the first one, that movie alone is on my Mount Rushmore of movies. The trilogy is about a teenager who accidently travels back in time prevents his parents from getting married which then prevents him from being born, so now he has to figure out a way to get back to the futureand get his parents back together. The entire trilogy is great; even thought it has its bad moments, but hey, what trilogy does not? The series is a clever and fun string of movies that leaves you with a good feeling after watching them. Now with that being said, when you make a movie about time travelthere are bound to be some mistakes and Back to the future is no exception. I can go... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now with that easy one out the way, time for the real brain busting stuff. At the end out the second movie and beginning of the third, Doc (Christopher Lloyd) gets struck by a bolt of lighting while flying still in the air and gets sent back to 1855 while Marty is on the street and sees this happen and is now stuck again in 1955. Right after that happens Marty gets a letter from Doc stating specific intrusions on where he left the time machine hidden and how to fix it. Shortly after Marty finds out that Doc was killed a week after he wrote the letter. Marty then decides to travel back to 1855 and save Doc. In the process of going back to 1855 he cuts a gas line so now the Delorean has no gas and Doc and Marty spend the rest of the third movie tiring to find a way to get the Delorean up to 88mph to be able to travel back home. Here is where there is three major plot holes. The first one is if Marty and the younger Doc find out about older Docs death in 1955, wouldn t the older doc already know about it? Yet in the third movie when Marty tells the older doc about this in 1855 he seems shocked as if he didn t already know about this in 1955. Second, when Marty travels back to 1855 he cuts a gas line on the landing and now is stuck without any gas for the Delorean. The problem here is what happened to the Delorean that doc hid in the ... • 4. Vashti s The Machine The Machine has created a society that questions all forms of human phenomenon that were prevalent before the installation of technology, such as physical contact. Any action that cannot be accomplished through the Machine will actively be avoided by society. Vashti is completely shrouded by the ideology of the Machine. She, much like the rest of society, believes that physical contact with another human is barbaric and obsolete. Technology has created an environment where interactions with physical beings horrifies society. While Vashti hesitantly traveled to see Kuno, she experienced the discomfort of human contact. When Vashti swerved away from the sunbeams with a cry, she behaved barbarically she put out her hand to steady her. How dare ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These three witches were sisters and the three witches were speaking in rhymes. In their rhymes, they were saying that Macbeth would be thane of cawdor and that Banquo would be the father of kings of Scotland. Ross showed up to tell Macbeth that the old king of cawdor was a traitor and that he was going to be the new king. Macbeth bought into the lies, and it would be his belief of the lies that would be the start of his downfall. Macbeth was a loyal general to Duncan and served him well. • 8. An Analysis Of So Much Water So Close At Home In Carver s short story, So Much Water So Close to Home, three men go to Naches River for a fishing trip and encounter a dead young woman in the river. Aware that the corpse is in the river, they continue on with their fishing trip, not reporting it until they travel back home. Carver illustrates the story through the eyes of Claire, the wifeof the fisher. Carver depicts the differences in male and female roles of a marriageand their psychological similarities, associated with why there was a need to travel to further waters, when there is So Much Water So Close to Home. Ordinarily, man is the provider and woman is the nurturer in a marriage. This is contrasted by the differences of Stuart and Claire s roles as husbandand wife. Man s role in a home is to be a gatherer of not only physical labors but of answers. Claire is constantly seeking answers as to why her husband waited so long to report the corpse, but he contains no answers for her as he says you re going to get me riled, (76) making her findings of the truth qualities as the protector of the household. Their minds as husband and wife functioned separately and in no way correlated to be a whole as Claire became more consumed by the idea of the dead child. This consumption is relevant in the way Claire demands her husband to tell her where their son by asking where is he? Where is Dean? (90) and how she has no trust over him concerning their son because of the idea of the dead girl. This leads to her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What Is My Greatest Accomplishments From the first taste of accomplishment we go on to set new goals, and the goals we set aren t only for the accomplishments and accolades that come with them but most importantly for self contention to be the best we can be, to be great. Well my first taste of accomplishment came from an orange sphere and a hoop as a child. On my 5th birthday, my old man brought home a basketball hoop, not knowing what it was, I was intrigued at first sight. Looking back, as an avid sports lover now, I can tell you that whether it had been a basketball, soccer ball, baseball, lacrosse ball, football, a punching bag, a pool, or a track, the first taste of accomplishment comes from the first pass, shot, goal, touchdown, hit, run, or leap, and from there you... Norristown was on a role scoring 10 unanswered points to put themselves back in the game. Our coach called a time out with one minute left. The plan was to get me the ball, for an open shot, coach drew up the play and we tried to carry it out. Our plan didn t fall through and Norristown got the defensive rebound, going down the court to score 2 points on a toughly contested mid range shot. It was our ball with 35 seconds on the clock. We tried to chew the clock and get a good shot off, and we did just that. I scored the record breaking basket with 7 seconds left. Norristown had the ball down two with very little time on the clock. We knew we just needed one stop. One stop and we d become state champions forever. Norristown inbounded the ball and drove down court, we played them tight trying not to give up a three pointer. I couldn t hear over the pounding of the blood rushing through my head. My teammates and I are about to warm up our tumbling passes and I just got mine last week. Now, I started to overthink. What if I fall on my head and die? What if I chicken out and land flat on my back? I would be utterly humiliated... and in pain but mainly humiliated. Lauren, it s your turn to warm up, Brooke said snapping me out of my thoughts. Okay Lauren, you can do this. Just don t die and you ll be fine, I said to myself hoping that I was right. I felt the satisfying thud of my hands making contact with the floor and my feet landing back on the floor. All I had to do know was wait for the next routine to finish so I could do it again. The routine finished and I strode back onto the floor but this time with more confidence. I wanted to get it over with swiftly so I started running a second after I had reached the corner. Why President Truman Decided to Drop Atomic Bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki At 02:45 August 6th 1945, the B 29 Superfortress the Enola Gay took off from the specially lengthened North Field on the Island of Tinian in the Marianas. The plane piloted by Colonel Paul Tibbets was 7 tons. There are four main reasons why Truman ordered the dropping of the two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I will now discuss each reason in more detail with factual evidence that justifies his decision. By April 1945 the Japanese armed forces had been eliminated from everywhere apart from their home soil and parts of northern Manchuria in China. The Americans had already taken some of the Japanese homeland, Okinawa approximately 300 miles south of Kyushu had been taken. At a joint war plans committee it was concluded that 46,000 Americans would die in the invasion of Kyushu and Honshu. The rate of wounded to fatalities was estimated to be 3 to 1, so 175,000 US casualties were not out of the question. However these early reports were rejected by George Marshall, the army s chief of staff. Another estimate was put forward by Admiral Leahy, he concluded that it would be unlikely that any less than 35% of the invasion force would be killed, this would work out to be 250,000 American dead. This was estimated in August when the Japanese strength on Kyushu was 14 infantry divisions and according to US intelligence reports, there would be another 2,250,000 army workers, 1,300,000 navy workers and 250,000 special garrison troops and a volunteer militia officially put at 28,000,000. Whenever someone was a loyalist they were put into danger because patriots were known to overreact. For example, when Thomas Hutchinson revealed he was a loyalist, patriots burnt down his house instead of being civilized. Also, you could be imprisoned by the patriots just for being a loyalist. The patriots felt that being a loyalist was wrong and would imprison you just for having that opinion. Along with being imprisoned, you had to pay a huge amount of money to get out. This goes to show that many people were afraid to be loyalists because of the consequences and how violent the patriots were. This also shows that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One example of their violence is the Boston Tea Partyand The Boston Massacre. The Boston Massacre wasn t even a massacre despite the name. This was when some patriots started throwing snowballs at soldiers and the soldiers had to defend themselves from the patriots, so the patriots were shot. The Boston Tea Party was when a very small tax was placed on tea and the patriots weren t happy about that. So instead of paying the very small tax, they went onto the tea ships and dumped the tea into the ocean. The taxes would overall help us in the end, because they also helped with protection and a better military. For their protests on Taxation without representation , they were protesting something that wasn t completely true. Actually, it was false because there was representation. Each colony had someone that could go to Parliament and speak on the colony s behalf. As for the taxes, they were placed on all of Britain, not just the colonies, yet the patriots were not satisfied and decided not to pay the taxes even though they were cheaper than what Britain had to pay. Power in cases throughout history or in literature is good while other times that power is abused and turns out to be dangerous which leads to bad. However, today, we are seeing power in the bad light . With power being taken to another level for the worse or power that causes all out chaos, power shows the bad in people. Antigone is a great way to show how power is taken to another level for the worse. The king of this book, Creon, rose to the throne by the deaths of two of his nephews, who fought for the throne which led to their ultimate deaths and crowned Creon king. Creon, who had a favoritism towards Eteocles, one of the nephews, gave him an honorable burial while Polynices, another one of his nephews, did not even get a proper burial, therefore leaving Antigone, sister of Eteocles and Polynices, to go against Creon s law which forbade anyone to even show the smallest amount of pity towards Polynices and try to give him any sort of burial. While she did not bury her brother, Creon did find out that Antigone happened to throw dirt on Polynices, which was a form of showing respect to him. Creon then took Antigone into captivity to punish her for breaking the law. Ismene, another character and sister to Antigone followed along with Antigone to carry out this task, was also taken into captivity, although she denied helping Antigone since she was afraid of Creon ... The dramaturge s use of penance throughout the morality play exemplified the importance of following the traditional Christian religion and reminded members of the communitas to not go astray to a reformist religion such as the Hussites. The desertion of Everyman by Cousin, Kindred, and Fellowship through the use of dark play provides the communitas with a understanding of what it would be like for them to die and have parts of their life torn away from them as Everyman lost the relationship with these characters when they would not follow him to his death. • 33. Military Actions Of The American Civil War Throughout history the effectiveness of specific military actions have been debated and discussed. Military tacticians and scholars have pondered the overall completion of objectives and the comprehensive values presented by the action. This debate has occurred for many of the actions taken in the American Civil War. In terms of achievement the March to the Sea was one of the most effective military actions of the Civil War. Historians may debate the level of destruction that union soldiers imposed on the civilian populace during the march, but Sherman s desire to rip the heart out of the Confederate war effort succeeded. General William Tecumseh Shermanunderstood the effectiveness of bringing home the war to the people of the south. He understood how to make an impact on the southern desire to continue the fight. Sherman s march affected the southern psyche and damaged the will to fight, while destroying valuable supplies and material. In late 1864 the American Civil Warwas still grinding on. Since 1861, hundreds of thousands of Americans had been fighting each other in bloody battles all across the country. The confederates were becoming more desperate but still had a great deal of fight left in them. They were losing supplies and manpower but the war could drag on for years. The battles had developed into a war of attrition that may have lasted for many more years. A northern general that understood this, and knew a way to hasten the war s end, was William Tecumseh ... Residents feel that the youths hanging out is just a brewing pot for trouble. This problem can be fixed by many members of the community with one major idea, give the kids something to do! The town already has in place what is referred to as Teen Nights, held by the Hasbrouck Heights Recreation Commission. The problem with these Teen Nights is that it involves a minute amount of the teens in this area. It involves only 7th and 8th graders. What about the high schoolers? They re the ones who get bored most easily. To resolve this problem, the need for community support is at its peak. If different organizations would pitch in and sponsor some special nights for the teens to get together, there would be fewer nights for kids to roam the streets. The churches could pitch in by opening up their basements, for a few nights throughout the year and hold different functions, like dances or have guest speakers or comedians. The YMCA program that is offered to children in the elementary school could be expanded to the twelfth grade, not only providing a place for youth to go, but a place where they can be active. Also local restaurants can hold such things as a dinner dance every once in a while only expecting a small fee in return. Another place that could be rented out for teens can be the halls where Knights of Columbus, the VFW, or the Elks club resides. Another predominant group who can become involved are ... Within this novel, there is little explanation for Trudy s deficiency in this area. As such, the reader is left with the most probable explanation being her alcohol abuse. This may seem the most probable considering when intoxicated she becomes highly abusive towards her daughter, going as far as to tell her to shut up you whore (128). However, through the historical context provided by research, information points to another explanation for her absence of parenting skills. When a child is placed in an environment like a residential school which was beyond notorious for its inadequate parenting, parenting skills are often deficient (Brasfield 2001). Bearing in mind the absence of remotely proper parenting skills at residential schools, there is a strong amount of evidence suggesting Trudy s lack of skill in this area stems from her attendance at a residential school. Charles Brasfield s research suggests residential schooling adversely affects its attendee s future ability to parent considering residential school ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hazleton describes conflict as the discrepancy between what is the perceived reality and what is seen as ideal (2007). We enter into conflicts reluctantly, cautiously, angrily, nervously, confidently and emerge from them battered, exhausted, sad, satisfied, triumphant. And still many of us underestimate or overlook the merits of conflict the opportunity conflict offers every time it occurs (Schilling, nd.). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Keeping all these in mind can lead to the best solution to solve the conflict. Change and Expectations People do not always adjust well to change. Oftentimes when change occurs, conflict will arise. The new boss on the job or the new member of the team may be the change that brings a conflict. Expectations if not set clearly and held to standard can also lead to conflict among the team. Expectations must be set from the beginning. Expectations must also be clear and it must be verified that each team member understands the expectations. If a short coming on the expectations occurs, then action must be taken immediately. If no action is taken this could be understood as silent approval and team members will believe that the expectation is no longer important or required. When conflict does occur, the five models set out in The Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument sets the standards for resolving the conflict. Avoidance Avoidance is defined as an act or practice of avoiding or withdrawing from something (Merriam Webster.com). Avoidance may not be the answer if the conflict directly affects the team or the team s goal. Avoidance is usually used when the conflict is irrelevant, relationships are at stake, more important issues are pressing, when one party is more emotionally involved, or when more information is needed (Culbertson, 2000).
