In our study, the independent variable is whether a state elects or appoints judges. The dependent
variable is the incarceration rate (per 100,000 people) for each state. To control for these
variables, we also measured the violent crime rate (per 100,000 people) for each state. The violent
crime rate allows us to see whether or not crimerate or judges are having a measurable effect on the
incarcerationrate. Without controlling for the crime rate, we would not be able to tell if higher
incarceration rates were truly a result of elected judges, as crime rate would also be playing a

The value of each variable is the number of people who are incarcerated per 100,000 people. No
mathematical equation or changes were made before entering it into the SPSS program, our
statistical test.
For our data, we chose to control for the violent crime in each state. We did this by using the
violent crime rate, which was measured similarly to the incarceration rate. We measured it by
every 100,000 people for each of the 50 states. In order to code this, we used a range of 0
100,000. The variable can be anywhere within the range and only represents the number of
individuals who have committed violent crime per 100,000 people per state. No type of
equations or recoding was done before we entered this data into the SPSS program. We used a
linear regression as the statistical test to prove our hypothesis. We chose to run a linear regression
because the dependent variable, the incarceration rate, had more than two values that could be
used. This is because the incarceration rates could range anywhere from 0 to 100,000 people.

wireless time triggered networks was taken with the development of a new safety critical wireless
protocol called the Time Triggered New Zigbee (TTNZ) protocol. The methodology for
developing the TTNZ protocol involved Model Driven Engineering (MDE) and a tool called
TimeMe which is an IEC 61499 standard compliant software. MDE overcomes the limitations of the
traditional approach which does not guarantee consistent performance during the design and
development phases of a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) [1]. This safety critical wireless
protocol, TTNZ, does not take into consideration the irregularities of the physical (PHY) layer. The
current project is undertaken to consider the issue of timeliness with PHY layer abnormalities and
accordingly use a measurement or testing based approach to verify timeliness.

When regarding the different options I had in comparing two of the works we have already read
this semester, my mind automatically went to William Blake s Songs of Innocence and Songs
of Experience. Blake s examination of the duality of a single subject s nature lends itself
perfectly to a close reading such as this. When looking at the different options available to me in
Blake s volumes, Holy Thursday (both the Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience
versions) demonstrated this duality clearly. The subject in Holy Thursday stays the same,
however, the nature of the subject is drastically different in each poem. In both Songs of
Innocence and Songs of Experience, the poem titled Holy Thursday occurs on Holy Thursday.
This was a special service at St. Paul s Cathedral in London, which was held on the first Thursday
in May. The tradition started in 1782, and this special service was held for the poorest children in

others have not. But one Founding Father often over looked, and not just because he stands five

John Flaxman Art Style
One of my favorite styles of the decorative arts has to be John Flaxman s style of art. Even when I
go to art exhibits in downtown Chicago. I always find a way to come across, thus style of art. I ve
always been intrigued by it and by the looks of it. When I was a child I would watch the
Hercules movies and some of the Wedgewood jasper wear type of art figures were introduced as
singing ladies from the Greek theme. In a way it all brings back memories to when I was a kid.

Have you ever been to a restaurant and seen a roach walk across the dining room floor?
Roach violation should mean the shutdown of your restaurant. The government should have stricter
laws for restaurant with reoccurring roach violations, not allow the reopen of such places.
My plan to eliminate such problems include the forcing shutdown of restaurant at first violations, to
not allow the reopen. We as society should not have to be worrying about dining out or about seeing
a violation sign stating this restaurant has had such violations.

Courtney stopped for take out at El Toro Tacoin Homestead. The 32 year old mother of two
