I have not been to many concerts in my life, so I did not know what to expect when I went to see
Lynyrd Skynyrd in concert last month. A few years ago, I saw Celine Dion in concert and was
very impressed by her beautiful stage, the infallible theatrics of her performers, and the wardrobe
changes. I expected the Lynyrd Skynyrdconcert to be similar, but it was nothing like that at all.
Concerts can vary in considerable ways; everything from the stage set up, performance, and the
audience can completely change the concert goers experience.
The Celine Dion concert had a very elaborate stage with beautiful props and decorations. Each
seemed to magically change to match every new song she sang. I was expecting a comparable lay
out at the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert. Their concert, however, was just the opposite. While waiting
for Lynyrd Skynyrd to perform, I noticed that the stage was sparse and unimpressive. The only
thing that really caught my eye was a baby grand piano on the left side of the stage. The other items
on stage were just typical musical instruments that you would expect to see at any rock concert. The

On Black Thursday of the Wall Street Crash of 1929 Wiggin teamed up with other Wall Street
bankers in an attempt to save the stock market. Wiggin and other bankers committed substantial
funds for an investment pool in order to buy large blocks of shares of major U.S. corporations at

for Intrusion Detection System (IDS) to prevent attacks. Genetic Algorithm (GA) is applied to
support IDS. Fitness function and GA operators crossover, mutation, and population representation
play an important role in improving the performance of an IDS: high detection rate, and low false
positive rate. This paper suggests a Fitness Function using Reward Penalty technique that rewards
the good chromosome and penalizes the bad chromosome, for improved performance. We suggest
that the GA parameters be optimized for better IDS performance.

Approximately four weeks ago, the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history occurred not to far
from UCF. Patrons of Pulse nightclub, a gay nightclub in Orlando where massacred by Omar
Mateen, Mateen took the lives of forty nine individuals all because of their presence in a gay
establishment. This tragic incident wasn t the first attack on the LGBTcommunity, but it s massive
fatalities put Congress under even more pressure to reform gun laws, gayrights, and suspected
terrorist legislation. As a political Science major, I take a special interest in the reactions among
legislators after the Orlando incident and believe there should be more equal protection for gay

Abraham Lincoln was a self educated lawyer who did not support slavery. He surprised many
people when he became the 16th President mainly because he beat out several promising
contenders. During the Civil War Lincoln became quite brilliant with military strategy and an
excellent wartime leader. With the Union on the brink of victory Lincoln became a martyr when
he was shot and killed by a Confederate sympathizer by the name of John Wilkes Booth. Over time
Lincoln became known as one of the greatest Presidents of all time.
Abraham Lincoln was born February 12 1809 in Hardin County Kentucky to Thomas and Nancy
Lincoln. In 1816 his family moved to southern Indiana. Lincoln had little formal education due to
the fact that he ahd to work to help support his family. Lincolns mother died when he was only
nine, and as a young boy he took that pretty rough. Abraham quickly began to resent his father for
all the work that was placed on him at a young age.
His father remarried a Kentucky widow with three children of her own. Although Lincolns
parents were probably illiterate, Sarah encouraged Abraham to read. It wasn t till he was a
young man that he received most of his formal education. It would come in days or weeks at a
time. Books were scarce in the backwoods of Indiana, so Lincoln would read the Bible or other

colors were blooming. The olive green trees were swaying in a gentle breeze and the river by the
village was teeming with fish. A rainbow glowed against the blue sky, catching every villagers

annual lottery was being held. Because of the towns small population of 400 people, the lottery

What is the purpose of government? The U.S. government has grown to provide much more
than was originally included in the constitution. Some may argue that large government is
helpful, because a large government provides services for its citizens through many different
programs. While this may be, some of these programs have only created bigger problems.
Prohibition is a great illustration of this, while the consumption of alcohol was lowered as a
result, there was a large increase in crime. In the book The Rise and Fall of Prohibition, results
from a study were published, showing that after prohibition, crime in major US cities had risen by
24%, with drug addiction going up a staggering 44.6% (Hanson, 1923). While the intent of these
programs is positive, in most cases it s one step forward and two steps backwards. In The Federalist
Papers No. 2, John Jay stated, Nothing is more certain than the indispensable necessity of
government; (Jay, 1787). While government is necessary, limits must be put in place to ensure that
