Soda Advertising Research Paper
Should Beyonce be allowed to star in soda ads? This question has started a big controversial
argument. My personal belief is she should be able to. I believe this because many other famous
people have helped sell soda before, Americans already drink soda all the time, and it is the
buyer s choice to buy the soda or not. First off, Beyonce is not the 1st or only celebrity to star in
soda ads. An article called Is It OK for Beyonce to Sell Soda? states, Lebron James and the band
One Direction have also appeared in soda advertisements recently. So if they can why can t
Beyonce? Some might say she is bigger and more famous however Lebron James is definitely the
most famous athlete at the time. Secondly Americans drink soda all the time anyway.

Cognitive Failures Of A Person s Cognitive System
A person s cognitive system can overall be very effective, though occasionally mistakes occur
resulting in generalized cognitive failures. Cognitive failures, also known as absent mindedness,
are errors or mistakes people make due to attention slips or memory failures (Reason, 1982). These
failures refer to all possible errors within the cognitive system and can be traced to problems with
attention, memory, errors created by distractions and errors in the execution of intentions. These
include lapses of attention, mind wandering, action failures, etc. Examples of cognitive failures
include daydreaming during an exam, forgetting the name of the person you just met a short time
before and forgetting where you placed your keys or your glasses. These are mistakes that most
people would agree they had experienced. How often these mistakes occur however is dependent
on the person. When I kept track of my own personal memory lapses, I found that I often make
mistakes on a daily basis.
Cognitive failures are considered very important to researchers today in areas including cognitive
psychology, developmental psychology, educational psychology and neuropsychology. It is
apparent that the reason for such interest is due to the frequency of failures depending on
individual differences, age and neuropsychological disorders and most importantly how these
errors have consequences in the individual s life. An example of a real life situation would be if a
student is daydreaming in class

Hindu Authority
single source of authority. The word Hindu is not a Sanskrit word or nor mentioned in any of the
ancient major texts of India. The word Hindu is to believe to originate from the ancient Persians.
The Persians who shared some of the culture with the Indian sub continent used to call the Indus
River as Sindhu. Due to some in linguistic problems, they could not pronounce the letter S in their
language and started pronouncing the Sindhu as Hindu. The Ancient Greeks and the rest of the
world followed the same word pattern calling the Indus River Valley people as Hindus. The Hindu

Thus Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva are not without connection. They are the same being that have
three different aspects, but the Supreme Being of the gods is Brahma. There are also other names
that are recognized and worshipped in the Hindu religion. For instance the name Lord Ganesha is
called upon and is represented as the head of an elephant, which represents the power of the
Supreme Being who removes obstacles and ensures success in human work. Hindus worship
Lord Ganesha before doing any activity. The World Encyclopedia of Eastern religions records
and states that Lord Ganesha is the first son of Shiva and Parvati. The portrayal of Lord Ganesha
is as a blend of humans and animal parts, which symbolizes the ideas of perfection as formed by
Hindu sages. The goddess Durga represents the power of the Supreme Being, who preserves
moral order. The Sanskrit word for Durga actually means a fort or a place that is protected and
thus is difficult to reach. Durga is known as the Divine mother, who protects humans from evil by
destroying evil forces. Durga also has many other names like Parvati, Ambika, and Kali. She has
eighteen arms and in each arm she carries weapons to destroy

The As A World Of Perfection And Reality
Art is a collection of artworks that reflects a message for the audience to interpret. Each piece of
artwork is expressed in different forms that communicate an individual s thoughts and emotions to
another person. Every artist has their own individual style which makes them different from the
rest. Although artists have similar styles, viewers have their own interpretation when they are
analyzing a piece of art in depth. Philosophers claim the uniqueness of art comes from all the
creative ideas in one s mind. Nietzsche believes the appearance of objects matters more than reality
of objects but Dewey would disagree. Friedrich Nietzscheintroduces the art world of dreams and
reality. These are two different qualities that represents Apollonian and Dionysus art. According
to Nietzsche, he describes dreams as a world of perfection and reality as a world of imperfection.
In the excerpt The Birth of Tragedy, he writes, In our dreams we delight in the immediate
understanding of figures; all forms speak to us; there is nothing unimportant or superfluous
(Nietzsche 163). By dreaming, it is possible to fantasize about your desires positively. On the
other hand, reality forces you to become aware of your true thoughts and how you are currently
living your life. The author clearly explains the reality in which we live and have our being is also
mere appearance, and that another, quite different reality lies beneath it (Nietzsche 163). When we
are either doing real life activities

Archive Charlotte Farge Analysis
What could be more essential to the historian than archives? Arlette Farge explains, This is where
our work begins. However, to many, the vast repositories of records and documents seem dull and
lifeless. To the eager historian, the archives are a vast and treacherous ocean and seemingly
impossible to wade through. In spite of this, they are seductive to Farge, enticing her to sift through
the endless Paris police records of the BibliothГЁque de l Arsenal in Paris. The allure is the innate
potential of the archives to illuminate areas of the past, which would otherwise be forgotten. While
historical knowledge is highly elusive and eternally incomplete, shades of the true past inhabit the
archives documents and records. She analogizes the archive to a thick forest. When you first arrive,
it will be difficult to see,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Within the eighteenth century Parisian police reports are about singular events, containing the
unique experiences of individuals the only recorded experiences of many. When she arrives, the
reports are a jumbled mess, as sheer recollection is not enough. She must reconstruct the context of
these events and rearrange them in the most useful way, one which will create a narrative of the
past. In many cases, the archive miniaturizes the historical object. The expressions of one s desires,
fears, loves, and miseries can reveal larger social movements, describes Farge. She is not merely
concerned about singular events, but the larger historical themes to which the events point.
Undeniably, the experiences of the individual are inextricably linked to a surrounding society.
Therefore, police reports (individually or collectively) hint at broader societal trends. One example
she uses is an illiterate man, Thorin, who was imprisoned in the Bastille, and how his disjointed
writings retained a voice, an intonation, a rhythm. As a result, she uncovered evidence of an auditory

Why dialogue is needed in organization
Introduction
Why dialogue is needed in organization?
Dialogue is different from any other tool of the techniques it is method for problem formulation and
problem solving technologies. Dialogue is essential for understanding culture and sub culture, for
that instance organizational learning will probably depend upon such cultural understanding.
Because of the high revolution seen in the technology and technological advancement its essential
for an organization to accept the path of dialogue. There are many subunits had been formed in
organization because of knowledge based information, geographies, market, product, and
technology. So this subunits transform their subcultures. So organization have to require some
mental models. And this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But decisive dialogues can not be duplicated. These factors constitute an organization s most
enduring competitive advantage, and they are heavily dependent on the character of dialogue that a
leader exhibits and thereby influences throughout the organization. (ram charan 2001).
Dialogue is not just a path of productive conversation but it also implies reflectiveness or positive
response. It is not just improving the effectiveness of business and proving objectives but its create
the relation between two parties eg. Stakeholder and owner, manager and worker, owner and
manager etc. in dialogue each person is participating, is partaking the whole meaning of the group
and also taking part in it. ( david bohm 1996,p. xiii)
When one time dialogue is in act than its possible to short the gap between two groups and cultures.
Groups are interested for making fairness results in their given task through good conversation and
by giving their different thoughts. Dialogue encourages their participants to cut their stereotypes .
(daniel yankelovich 1999)
Dialogue explore the self organizing theory in which individual have to act in a team for
accomplish such objectives in way of culture. when individual being together they have specific
ideas for making such communication. Dialogue is a way to get us away

House Of Cards Research Paper
Further Implications House of Cards is undoubtedly a continuation of Shakespearian tragedy
tradition in a popular medium. With a 9/10 rating, the television series is a favorite amongst its
many viewers, some even praising it as the best Shakespeare adaptation of all time . However,
aside from providing entertainment, this television series is significant in a multitude of other
ways. One of which is to reflect a pessimistic view on American politics. While Bill Clinton
asserted humorously that 99% of House of cards is accurate, the 1% that s not accurate is that you
can never pass an education bill that fast , in all seriousness, the excessive treachery and murder is
not an accurate depiction of everyday Washington. Political Scientist Seth Masket expresses that as
an entertainment program, very mundane things are going to be excessively dramatized . Figure 6.

Political science graduate Miles Kellerman asserted that if House of Cards proceeds in the spirit
of a traditional Shakespearean tragedy , Underwood s clutch at power will prove ultimately self
destructive. This relates to how Shakespeare s tragedies emphasize poetic justice, meaning that the
antagonist would ultimately be punished, typically through death. Thus, Francis and Claire might
face the same fate in the following season, similar to how Shakespearian anti heroes such as
Macbeth meet their downfall after reaching the top of the political hierarchy. If the Shakespeare
trajectory of punishing the evil is followed in House of Cards, this show serves the social function
of discouraging politicians from misconduct. Audiences will also have a sense of justice as this
outcome of Francis reflects an ideal world where those that committed wrongdoings faces
consequence, regardless of power

American Education Reform
Throughout history, United States of America has been one of the most vigorous economies in the
world. With the most advanced military and serves as a beacon of hope and peace. It is obvious
that one would expect United States of America to be at the top of the lists when it comes to
education but unfortunately, that is not true. Day by day, our economy is becoming more and more
depended on technical notions which leaves us behind in math and science in the world. Our
government spends about 10,000 dollars every year on each student in the public educationsystem
(Lessons in Education). The solution to our failing schoolsystem is not to spend more money, but to
spend the money wisely. Not surprisingly, students with high performing teachers develop three
times better than students with poor performing teachers. Many agree... Show more content on

If the United States began to reform the teacher tenure, increase the number of charter schools, and
promote better parenting and family values, our education system can be fixed. The success of
American Students lies in the hands of teachers. Since, this is such a great responsibility, we have
to make sure that we are employing the right teacher for not only the students growth but also our
nation s growth. Hard working teachers should be appreciated and celebrated and neglectful
teachers should be fired. Unfortunately, the firing of teachers is not possible. In most states, there
is no legitimate evaluation process to be met for the teaching position and after a few years, the
teaching jobs becomes permanent. The most important step in reforming tenure is to have an
effective and an accurate evaluation process. The No Child Left

Progressing into Free Market Economies
The United States is a blessed nation to have freer markets than most. According to the 2013 Index
of Economic Freedom, the United States ranks as No. 10 in the most free market countries, while
Zimbabwe ranks No. 175 out of the 177 countries listed. (1) How are countries like Hong Kong,
New Zealand, and the U.S. ranked so high? With social cooperation, income inequality, comparative
advantages, freedom of trade, sound money, reductions in taxes and regulations, and protection of
propertyrights, more markets in other countries will too progress into free market economies.

Barry Levinson brings us a Raymond, very moving character in the movie Raymond Babbitt.
Raymond is a grown man that is Autistic. Raymond may be grown up but he lacks certain sociable
skills, making communication very difficult. He has a hard time understanding and answer
questions. Because of Raymond s handicap he is unable to progress into a new person. Raymonds
limitations give the movie boundaries. Levinson uses the idea of not allowing this character to
change to affect the other characters in this story. The character that is most affected is Raymond s
brother, Charlie. At the beginning Charlie is frustrated and short on cash, his father has died and

to do this he has to make changes and accommodate for Raymond s needs. Charlie isn t used to
Raymond s requirements, such as watching TV shows are certain times, being asleep by a
certain time, seating odd amounts of food and need for attention to make sure he doesn t get
hurt. Charlie starts to get to know Raymond, and the more he does the more Charlie changes.
Charlie completely alters his lifestyle to provide for Raymond. At the beginning when Charlie
is still getting to know Raymond they to out for breakfast and there is no syrup on the table, and
this is not what Raymond is used to. He always had the syrup on the table before they got the
pancakes. Raymond makes a be deal about it and Charlie tries to tell him that they will bring the

Gamekeeper s Thumb, also known as Skier s Thumb or UCL tear, is an injury to the ulnar collateral
ligament (UCL) of the thumb. The UCL can become torn, damaged, or avulsed from the insertion
point to the metacarpal phalangeal joint of the thumb. This type of injury is common to skiers. This
happens when the skier falls with an outstretched hand and the abducted thumb gets caught in the

Voice Recorder, By Charlie Victor
Charlie Victor Romeo, cockpit voice recorder, is a modern theatrical documentary derived
entirely from the Black Box transcripts of six notable concrete airline emergencies. In this
engaging and intensifying documentary, Charlie Victor Romeo positions the audience into
perspective of being inside a tension filled cockpits of authentic flights in distress, which
proposes an intriguing representation of the sensibility in a mid life crisis and a person s life at
jeopardy. The six transcript samples of previous voice recordings came from various air flights
and incidents such as flights American 1572, American Eagle 4184, Aeroperu 603, USAF Yukla
27, Japan Air 123, and United 232. The film primarily portrays a significant purpose of
entertainment and political motives, but also highlights the issue with aviation safety and the usage
of air tragedies to depict it along with the considerate lack of communication and organization
established. Thus, to establish an epidemic, catastrophic disasters must occur to generate great
awareness for the issue, so for a similar disaster to not transpire again. The play opens with a flight
attendant demonstrating the airplane precautions, safety procedures and reminding passengers to
fasten their seat belts and to turn off all cellular devices. Before each new airline scene played, the
film displays the name of the flight, location of trying to land, and number of passengers and crew
members that were on the flight. To present danger within

Essay On Your Daughter Dances Flamenco
A red and black swirl, that s how it all started. I remember it like it was yesterday. My mother and
I were standing in line at a frame shop. There was a girl with a black leotard and a red flowy skirt
standing in front of us, with her mother. Your daughter dances Flamenco, right? Where does she
take classes? My mother asked the girl s mother. Next thing I remember, I was in a dancestudio,
staring at a group of dancers who seemed to be flying across the room, all wearing long skirts
and dance shoes. I couldn t take my eyes off of them. I didn t know it right then, but fourteen

I can relate dancing to playing in two different ways. The first one, of course, whenever I am
dancing I can certainly feel like I am playing a game. By this I don t mean that I don t take dance
seriously. For the contrary, I enjoy dance to a level where I feel just like when I am playing a
videogame. Each new step I have to learn, represents a new challenge. Once I am able to
correctly perform said step, I have to keep practicing until I can perform it perfectly, then I can
move on to the next step. Once a choreography is complete, we, as dancers, are supposed to
rehearse it over and over again until we feel as confident as we can in order to be able to perform
it in the theatre. Reaching that point for me is like defeating the boss in a Mario Bros. game. One
can say the turtles, owls, and other enemies in the game could be represented by blisters, twisted
ankles, mistakes committed, and some other challenges we may encounter while trying to master a
piece of choreography.
The other way I can relate dance to play, which is kind of the most obvious one, are dance plays.

The Independence Of Puerto Rico
Introduction
The attempted assassination of President Truman was an indication that Puerto Ricans would use
any necessary means to gain independence. Puerto Rico has been a territory of the United States for
almost a century. The citizens of Puerto Rico have always had different views on whether they want
independence or greater autonomy. The following essay will focus on the commonwealth status of
Puerto Rico and the attempted assassination of President Truman.
The commonwealth status of Puerto Rico between the 1950 1952 was with limited autonomy since
the Island was still under the Sovereignty of the United States (Francesco, C. Eugene, 1999). The
United States annexed Puerto Rico following the end of the Spanish American War. For almost a
century Puerto Rico has been under the influence of the United States. The constitutional
convention of 1952 gave Puerto Rico the right to form a republican government.
The citizens of Puerto Rico were not satisfied with the current status. For instance, under the
commonwealth status, Puerto Ricans could not exercise their political rights. While they were
considered the United States citizens, they could participate in the voting exercise in the United
States. The Island has no representation in the Electoral College, which means that none of the
citizens can take part in the presidential elections. This was a major challenge for the Puerto
Ricans, who felt that there was a need for change. The Puerto Ricans were also not protected

The Los Angeles Riots
Though sparked by the Rodney King verdict, there were many other causes of the riots that
erupted on the streets of Los Angeles on April 29, 1992. The Los Angeles riots in 1992 were
devastating. The obvious issue portrayed through the media was black versus white. If you did
not live in Los Angeles or California chances are you did not hear full coverage of the story, you
heard a simple cut and dry portrayal of the events in South Central. If you heard one thing about the
riots, it was that there was a man named Rodney King and he was a black male beaten with

The McCone Commission found that poverty, racial divisions and other social conditions helped
trigger the violence (Pope). However, after the commissions report, interest in the Watts riots
faded and adequate action was not taken to address these issues in the affected areas. At the
conclusion of its investigation, the McCone Commission cited that so serious and so explosive is
the situation that, unless it is unchecked, the August riots may seem by comparison to be only a
curtain raiser for what could blow up one day in the future (Pope). Although the city has changed
in those years since the Watts riots, unfortunately, much has remained the same. This confession
by the McCone Commission proved to be prophetical. The Watts riots left 34 dead and 600
buildings damaged or destroyed. The 92 riots caused 52 fatalities, and more than 1,200 buildings
were damaged or destroyed. An anonymous man from Hollywood made a similar statement in 92
after the riots. He stated, the verdict was just the spark this (the riots) had been set for years before

Symbolism In William Faulkner s As I Lay Dying
There are many symbols in As I Lay Dying. William Faulkner is known for symbols in his novels.
The character s names in this novel even have a meaning. Although they are hard to decipher, once
the symbol is revealed, it makes the novel much more interesting. Throughout the novel, we see that
almost every person s name in the Bundren family has a meaning, and every person has a symbol.
The last name has a meaning itself. Bundren sounds like burden, and that is exactly what the
family is to almost everyone. Starting with Anse, Faulkner uses his name to define the word
anserous . Anserous means resembling a goose; silly; simple. In Addie s chapter, she describes
him as a tall bird hunched in the cold weather (pg. 170). This explains Anse s goose like stature. His
symbol throughout the novelis self greed. Anse states after Addie s death, But now I can get them
teeth (pg. 111). This just proves how selfish he is and does not care about his wife s passing,
only about his new teeth. Addie s name is very simple and does not have a meaning, but her
symbol is deep. She is always looking out of the window at her coffin being built while she is
lying in her bed. I believe Faulkner was showing how badly Addie wants to go to the other side.
Faulkner uses powerful imagery, It was nigh toward daybreak when we drove the last nail and
toted it into the house, where she was laying on the bed with the window open and the rain
blowing on her again (pg. 73). This shows how sad Addie is

An Analysis of Two Key Passages in Antigone
An Analysis of Two Key Passages in Antigone
During the Nazi occupation of France, Jean Anouilh produced an adaptation of Sophocles tragedy,
Antigone, as a representation of the struggle between those collaborating with the occupants and
those resisting them. While it is possible to read Anouilh s Antigoneas a texte de la Resistance , it
can also be interpreted as an apologia for the Nazis severe, authoritarian behavior. The two key
passages selected are crucial to the development of the play in that they highlight the clash between
ideologies. While Antigone s speech offers an insight into her idealistic world view, Creons
dialogue exposes his pragmatic approach to life. This conflict of thought and action epitomizes the
conflict ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The harshness of Antigone s outlook is emphasised by Anouilh yet again when he has her say that
Oedipus only became beautiful when all hope was gone, stamped out like a beetle [Passage A, line
26]. The violent nature of this simile reinforces Antigone s strong belief in the value self
renunciation. Simultaneously, it emphasizes that the majority of ordinary citizens blindly follow
the dictates of Creon s government and his pedestrian mode of thought, aiming for nothing more
than the contentment of getting on with their lives. Repellent natural imagery is further utilized to
distinguish Antigone s higher aims from those of Creon and all those who are attached to life at
any cost: You [Creon] are all like dogs that lick everything they smell [Passage A, line 7]. This
degrades Creon and his followers or fellow Collaborators to mere animals in that they live by their
animalistic impulses, most of all the will to live, rather than upon any higher aim. This implies that
pragmatism requires minimal thought or emotional effort, while idealism on the other hand,
demands a powerful self control that can sublimate the animal will to live, and requires an advanced
intellectual and emotional level. It demands the renunciation of the saint, but as an existentialist

The Stonewall Riots In The 1980 s
When people think of the 1980 s the first thoughts that many have in mind is that of music, movies,
and technology that has helped shaped the present. Unfortunately, just like this longing for the 1980

community faced struggles once it became apparent that AIDSwas killing people, which runs

In The Penal Colony
In the short story, In the Penal Colony by Franz Kafka, we are introduced to a horrible device
that is used to torture and execute prisoners. This apparatus does this by repeatedly writing the
word of the law that the condemned person had broken into their flesh like a bizarre tattoo artist
made of pain and blood. It is both sickening and fascinating to read the account of how this
machine operates from the character named the Officer as he describes in gross details just what
this monster of metal does to someone. But, why would Kafka write about these grisly details of
blood and torn flesh? It was a metaphor for what happens when a punishmentsystem has lost sight
of reform and justice. In this paper, we will see how the machine is many metaphors of fear,
injustice and what happens when a justice system becomes one of torture and about how people
can view the system and how it may seem unfair to the common person about to face it. In the
essay, Metaphors we live by Metaphors we live by (Lakoff Johnson 2011), it states, Metaphor is
for most people a device of the poetic imagination and the rhetorical flourish a matter of
extraordinary rather than ordinary language. (page 3) When an author takes pen in hand, they make
art out of their words and take language and turn it into many extraordinary things. By doing this,
they can put hidden meaning or messages in the stories they write. Sometimes this is to make a

How Does Alfred Lord Tennyson Use Imagery In The Charge Of...
The Bravery of War The Charge of the Light Brigade is a poem written by Alfred Lord Tennyson
commemorating the bravery of British soldiers during the Crimean War. Acting upon a mistaken
order, the soldiers make a valiant yet doomed attack against the enemy. Armed with only sabres,
the soldiers suffer heavy losses against the artillery of the enemy and must retreat immediately.
Tennyson does not focus on the mishaps of war but instead upon the bravery of the soldiers in the
Light Brigade. He describes the dangers the soldiers encounter in the battle. Through his use of
personification and imagery along with other literary elements, Tennyson presents a theme of
honor as he provides the reader with a portrait of the brave soldiers who serve... Show more content

The number of obese people in America is growing at a rate of two in every three people being
overweight or obese. Over 68% of American adults are considered overweight or obese. What
exactly is causing this tragically large result? Studies have shown that nutrition, overeating and
lack of exercise are few factors contributing to this. People need to start caring about their health
before it s too late. Embarrassingly, America s love for fattening food isn t a secret. A French
traveler said There is food hypocrisy. Someone will go into a restaurant and not eat the yellow of
the eggs because they think it s unhealthy, but then drink a huge soda . Society is labeled by the
food we eat due to the amount of grease and sugar it contains. Soda is one of the main causes for
the large amount of sugar in American s diets. An industry report has shown that 8.9 billion

The Shawshank Redemption By Stephen King And Frank...
In the following paper, I will talk about the movie The Shawshank Redemption. I will include the
plot, characters, contrasting and comparing pieces of information from the book to the movie, and
the lesson I gained from this assignment.
The Shawshank Redemption was written and directed by Authors Stephen King and Frank Darabont
in 1994. The scene takes place at Shawshank Prison located in Maine. The film tells the story of
Andy Dufresne, a quiet banker who is sentenced to life in the penitentiary for the murder of his
wife and her secret lover. During his time at the prison, Andy becomes friends with a fellow
inmate, Ellis Boyd Red Redding and he finds himself protected by the guards after Warden Norton
begins using him in his money laundering operation.
In 1947 Portland, Maine, banker Andy Dufresne is convicted of murdering his wife and her secret
lover, and is sentenced to two consecutive life sentences at the Shawshank State Penitentiary. Red
procures a rock hammer and later a large poster of Rita Hayworth for Andy. Working in the prison
laundry, Andy is regularly assaulted by the Sisters and their leader, Bogs.
During an outdoor work detail, Andy overhears the captain of the guards, Byron Hadley,
complaining about being taxed on an inheritance, and offers to help him legally shelter the money
from the IRS. After an assault by the Sisters nearly kills Andy, Hadley beats Bogs severely enough
that he never walks nor eats solid foods again, and is transferred to a

Glass Menagerie Symbolism
People who are different are sometimes seen as inferior individuals with subordinate lives.
Tennessee Williams, playwright of the famous, The Glass Menagerie, exposes these ideas through
the development of the character Laura, while tying her to strong symbolic features such as her
glass unicorn in order to show the audience everyone has hope. On the surface, Laura is seen as a
bleak character with an empty future, but with the symbolism utilized by Williams, Laura s
tremendous strength is revealed as she recognizes her abilities as well as a positive future for
herself. At first, the breaking of the glass unicorn can be seen as a troubling experience for Laura,

comfortable with her dreary life, while letting her disability prevent her from having a
meaningful future. Hence, Laura s positive reaction to her broken possession exposes her
incredible strength, which is a surprise considering throughout the play she has been portrayed
as a fragile character. Laura regards Jim s actions by saying, I ll just imagine he had an

World Church Review
Theology in the Majority World Church
Book Review of Theology in the Context of World Christianity
Theology in the context of World Christianity by Timothy Tennent is a great book about theology
development in the post west Christianity. I am amazed by the fact that theology in Africa, Latin
America and Asia has been expanding by the grace of God. At the same time, I feel the pain of the
traditional western theology being dated quickly. This book refreshed my mindset of theology by
integrating systematic theology with missiology (158/8686).
Coming from a culture where Christianity is new, it is exciting for me to read a book focusing on
theology in the majority world church. This book is very encouraging to me. It brings a new

Tennent carefully reviewed the history of Chinese Christianity. It is quite amazing to realize that
the Nestorians reached out and gained ground in China as early as AD 635. That s even before the
Europe was Christianized. Although I doubt the outcome of the BTJM movement, I am encouraged
by the message of evangelize the Islam, Judaism by the Chinese missionaries.
Tennent also discussed the importance of culture and church with the category of ecclesiology. As
the majority world church is facing the non Christian world and culture, it is pivotal to develop a
more engaged theology in the midst of a social and cultural landscape that is always changing
(7581/8686).
The shortcomings of this book is his assumption of the readers knowing the traditional western
theology well. He used big paragraphs to discuss the difference between the rising majority church
theology and the traditional western theology. Another area will be lacking the discussion on
theological education for the majority world church. The churches emerged quickly in Africa,
Latin American and Asia need time to raise scholars and teachers who can develop and teach
theology. The centers of theology scholarship is still in the west. It will be great if the western
seminaries can prepare well for the training of next generation theologians with global

Statuses
The role we play in society can help influence and define who someone us. These statuses refer to
of the full range of socially defined positions within a large group or society, from the lowest to
the higher. (Schaefer, 2014, p. 106 ) Statuses can either come during birth or can be acquired later
in life. Someone might wear several hats in life, but their main status can be the indicator of who is
this particular person. Our statuses don t define us, but they are an part of us.
According to R.T. Schaefer in his textbook Sociology: a brief introduction (11th ed.), Sociologists
view some statuses as ascribed and others as achieved. (Schaefer, 2014, p. 106 ) Factors you can

Mobile Devices Dominating Internet Traffic
In 2014, there were countless articles about mobile exceeding PC traffic for the first time in
history. Google announced #mobilegeddon early this year, saying, It s the year of the mobile . It
s almost laughable to think that someday this was news. Especially, as it s estimated that by 2017,
85% of the world will have access to 3G (Ericsson, 2015). If this is a glimpse into the future, then
businesses require a mobile strategy.

The Banks Group comprises of Hettangian to Sinemurian sediments up to 800 ft thick and forms
the lower of the two reservoir sections within the Strathspey Field. The Nansen and Statfjord
Formations are sub divisions within the unit (Knox and Cordey, 1993). The Stratfjord Formation
shows a significant increase in net to gross from the conformably underlying Cormorant Formation.
The formation consists of medium to coarse grained, fluvial channel sandstones interbedded with

The Rannoch and Etive consist of V.fine to coarse grained sand which was deposited in shore

Implementing A Performance Management Communication
Implementing a Performance Management Communication An effect communication plan is a
critical part of performance management. Performance management affects everyone in the
organization. It helps employees understand how they are contributing to the organizations goals,
what is expected of them, how they are doing, and how they can continue to grow, develop, and add
value to the business (Duggan, n.d.). The communication plan describes what the organization
wants to accomplish based on the information they provide their employees such as, the objectives
and outcomes identified. The communication plan should outline individual responsibilities for
everyone that is involved in the performance process. In addition, the communication plan acts as a
tool to ensure that everyone has the right information in a timely manner (Duggan, n.d.). Therefore,
effectively communicating a performance managementplan will ensure that all participants have a
clear and complete message, while ensuring that feedback is incorporated into the message
(Todericiu, Muscalu, Fraticiu, 2012).
Communication Plan An effective communication plan should address the following questions for

Ordinary Men Summary
Book Review: Ordinary Men by Christopher Browning Ordinary Men by Christopher Browning
is subtitled Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the Final Solution in Poland. This title is a perfect
overview of the subject of the book. Browning discussed Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the part
it played in the World War II during the Holocaust, especially in the Final Solution , which was the
attempted eradication of Jews. Not only does Browning discuss Battalion 101, but he uses them as
an example of how ordinary people can commit atrocities such as mass murder. Christopher
Browning is a professor of history at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. He is
considered an expert on the Holocaust and has written several acclaimed books covering this
subject (Christopher R. Browning). To write this his book Ordinary Men, he relies on a collection
of indictments and judgements that took place from 1962 to 1972 (Browning xvii). These cases
that Browning studied are full of testimonies from Battalion 101 members. He writes Ordinary Men

In terms of the artists and musicians, I believe that although they started out as losers, in the end,
they ended up winning because for already discovered, well known singers, they are getting the
royalties they are owed and for new, up and coming artists, they are getting their name out there
in a much less expensive way than before and still making some sort of money to support their
dream. The agents and label companies will become winners as well through the transformations.
The larger companies will most likely lose some strength and then gain back once they begin to
find new artists and those artists begin to take off. The risk/reward of the digital market here will
yield much more reward and their financial strength from the start will help them be a winner
here. I feel the biggest loser in throughout the entire industry transformation is the packaging and
CD production industry. Because CDs are no longer at an all time high, they will no longer be
needed. There is very little need for this and it has almost become a niche market, barely used for
music anymore, unless someone is burning their own music onto a CD. Albums being created and
sold solely onto a CD has decreased substantially and within the next few years could become
something in the past. This is the biggest loser by far through the music industry transformation.

The Museum Of Contemporary Art Cleveland
From Euclid Avenue to the east, visitors will enjoy the various buildings in Cleveland. From the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to the Tower City, to the University Circle, where there are many of
amazing museums. No matter the famous Cleveland museum of art or Natural History Museum.
The Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland, is undoubtedly a unique one. During the day,
pedestrians and passersby see themselves reflected in the surface. As dusk sets in the building s
interior reveals itself and guests get clear views into the building. Glass windows cut diagonally
across several facets of the building following the building s geometry and creating banner like
views into all four floors.

Looking inside the building, color plays a crucial role in Museum of Contemporary Art
Cleveland building while the buildings dark reflective exterior offers little evidence of the
interior structure. The experience inside is more open and translucent. After entering the
building, guests will identify that individual floors through pale grey striping and full glass
windows that reveal different interior. Back of house, spaces like exhibition workshops and
conference rooms contrasting these light gray bands of color the building envelope hovers
above the interior space like an abstracted shell. One of the most striking aspects of this envelope
is its color. The interior is treated with an intense white and blue fireproof paint that immerses
guests in the experience of color a hue that has been the topic of intense artistic scrutiny in
modern and contemporary art(New Museum of Contemporary Art, 2015). Blue is a highly
elusive color as FNMA design architect Elliott Hodge s notes quote Farshid Mousavi was inspired
by Yves Klein in the selection of blue from interior (Grabowski, J. J., Van Tassel, David D, 2006).
In particular, a blue that would read Dark first and blue second. visible in almost every public

Children Viewing Violence on Television Essay
Children Viewing Violence on Television
In virtually all American households, a television is present. Through this electronic device, the
public receives different messages. The main use of the television is for entertainment purposes.
The programs on television usually mirror and enhance the different aspects of American culture.
People ranging from infants to elderly adults watch television, the subject matter that is appropriate
for these different age groups varies. Yet, television is indiscriminate of age presenting any topic to
whoever chooses to view it. The television of today contains various aspects of society and
enhances it, creating an entertaining program. One of these aspects is violence. Young childrenlearn

In 73 percent of violent scenes, the perpetrators go unpunished possibly leading children to
assume violence is successful and acceptable. About half of the violent acts on television show no
harm to the victim and more than half show no pain. Handguns are involved in one out of every
four violent confrontations. Surprisingly, children s programs often present violence as funny and
rarely shows long term consequences for violent actions. These programs viewed by children do
not offer violence in an appropriate context ( TV Violence and Kids 234).
As noted on the National Coalition on Television Violences homepage one can see the effects of
television violence on children simply by observing kids at any playground. These children are
pretending to be Batman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Power Rangers. These are the heroes
of today s children. These heroes are not chosen due to character, but by physical strength. The
strongest and most violent are usually chosen by young people as the heroes to imitate. These
characters usually portray violence as an effective, common, and acceptable response.
The television is an instrument that teaches children about our culture. The programs reflect,
create, and depict our society (Levine 15). This could be used as a valuable tool to teach tolerance,
reinforce values, introduce different cultures and ideas, and overall educate children to become
citizens of

Analysis Of Torture For Christ By Richard Wurmbrand
The book Tortured for Christ, by Richard Wurmbrand, details the horrific acts of violence and
torture that he and his fellow Romanian Christians endured under the communist regime in their
country. After these experiences, Wurmbrand founded the Voice of the Martyrs, which is an
organization dedicated to telling the story of persecuted Christians all over the world. This book
was written over the course of three days after Wurmbrand was released by the Communists. The
book is seven chapters long, and each chapter details the different parts of his life while under the
communist rule and his experiences in the West. The first two chapters of the book talks about
Wurmbrand s conversion to Christ, and the hunger for Him that many Russian people... Show more

He equates what they suffered to be worse than hell, and quotes a priest as saying they have
suffered more than Christ. To date, I have never been physically persecuted for my faith, so
maybe I am not qualified to contest these statements. But I believe to say that one has suffered
more than Christ suffered is problematic at best. Since the death of Christ, we must realize that
we are never truly alone. A Christian is given the Holy Spirit upon conversion, and he guides and
directs us as we live our lives. When Jesus died on the cross, he was completely alone. Mark says
that the Father turned his face away from Jesus. Jesus asked the Father why he had forsaken
him. That is the feeling of being truly alone, and I do not believe that any human who knows the
love of Christ can ever be alone. When faced with horrific trials, we must not look to Christ and
say I have suffered more than you , we must look to Christ and say I suffer because of you . This
book helped tremendously in developing a lot of skills that I have practiced over the years.
When reading this book, I read it with a very critical eye. Reading the book this way helped me to
not get caught up in any emotional turmoil that would cause me top read the book from a biased
viewpoint. When reading works of any stance, reading with an open mind is very important when

  • 2. Soda Advertising Research Paper Should Beyonce be allowed to star in soda ads? This question has started a big controversial argument. My personal belief is she should be able to. I believe this because many other famous people have helped sell soda before, Americans already drink soda all the time, and it is the buyer s choice to buy the soda or not. First off, Beyonce is not the 1st or only celebrity to star in soda ads. An article called Is It OK for Beyonce to Sell Soda? states, Lebron James and the band One Direction have also appeared in soda advertisements recently. So if they can why can t Beyonce? Some might say she is bigger and more famous however Lebron James is definitely the most famous athlete at the time. Secondly Americans drink soda all the time anyway. ... • 3. Cognitive Failures Of A Person s Cognitive System A person s cognitive system can overall be very effective, though occasionally mistakes occur resulting in generalized cognitive failures. Cognitive failures, also known as absent mindedness, are errors or mistakes people make due to attention slips or memory failures (Reason, 1982). These failures refer to all possible errors within the cognitive system and can be traced to problems with attention, memory, errors created by distractions and errors in the execution of intentions. These include lapses of attention, mind wandering, action failures, etc. Examples of cognitive failures include daydreaming during an exam, forgetting the name of the person you just met a short time before and forgetting where you placed your keys or your glasses. These are mistakes that most people would agree they had experienced. How often these mistakes occur however is dependent on the person. When I kept track of my own personal memory lapses, I found that I often make mistakes on a daily basis. Cognitive failures are considered very important to researchers today in areas including cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, educational psychology and neuropsychology. It is apparent that the reason for such interest is due to the frequency of failures depending on individual differences, age and neuropsychological disorders and most importantly how these errors have consequences in the individual s life. An example of a real life situation would be if a student is daydreaming in class ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The word Hindu is to believe to originate from the ancient Persians. The Persians who shared some of the culture with the Indian sub continent used to call the Indus River as Sindhu. Due to some in linguistic problems, they could not pronounce the letter S in their language and started pronouncing the Sindhu as Hindu. The Ancient Greeks and the rest of the world followed the same word pattern calling the Indus River Valley people as Hindus. The Hindu worship is centered on the worship of different gods. Thus Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva are not without connection. They are the same being that have three different aspects, but the Supreme Being of the gods is Brahma. There are also other names that are recognized and worshipped in the Hindu religion. For instance the name Lord Ganesha is called upon and is represented as the head of an elephant, which represents the power of the Supreme Being who removes obstacles and ensures success in human work. Hindus worship Lord Ganesha before doing any activity. The World Encyclopedia of Eastern religions records and states that Lord Ganesha is the first son of Shiva and Parvati. The portrayal of Lord Ganesha is as a blend of humans and animal parts, which symbolizes the ideas of perfection as formed by Hindu sages. The goddess Durga represents the power of the Supreme Being, who preserves moral order. The Sanskrit word for Durga actually means a fort or a place that is protected and thus is difficult to reach. • 5. The As A World Of Perfection And Reality Art is a collection of artworks that reflects a message for the audience to interpret. Each piece of artwork is expressed in different forms that communicate an individual s thoughts and emotions to another person. Every artist has their own individual style which makes them different from the rest. Although artists have similar styles, viewers have their own interpretation when they are analyzing a piece of art in depth. Philosophers claim the uniqueness of art comes from all the creative ideas in one s mind. Nietzsche believes the appearance of objects matters more than reality of objects but Dewey would disagree. Friedrich Nietzscheintroduces the art world of dreams and reality. These are two different qualities that represents Apollonian and Dionysus art. According to Nietzsche, he describes dreams as a world of perfection and reality as a world of imperfection. In the excerpt The Birth of Tragedy, he writes, In our dreams we delight in the immediate understanding of figures; all forms speak to us; there is nothing unimportant or superfluous (Nietzsche 163). By dreaming, it is possible to fantasize about your desires positively. On the other hand, reality forces you to become aware of your true thoughts and how you are currently living your life. The author clearly explains the reality in which we live and have our being is also mere appearance, and that another, quite different reality lies beneath it (Nietzsche 163). • 6. Archive Charlotte Farge Analysis What could be more essential to the historian than archives? Arlette Farge explains, This is where our work begins. However, to many, the vast repositories of records and documents seem dull and lifeless. To the eager historian, the archives are a vast and treacherous ocean and seemingly impossible to wade through. In spite of this, they are seductive to Farge, enticing her to sift through the endless Paris police records of the BibliothГЁque de l Arsenal in Paris. The allure is the innate potential of the archives to illuminate areas of the past, which would otherwise be forgotten. While historical knowledge is highly elusive and eternally incomplete, shades of the true past inhabit the archives documents and records. She analogizes the archive to a thick forest. Within the eighteenth century Parisian police reports are about singular events, containing the unique experiences of individuals the only recorded experiences of many. When she arrives, the reports are a jumbled mess, as sheer recollection is not enough. She must reconstruct the context of these events and rearrange them in the most useful way, one which will create a narrative of the past. In many cases, the archive miniaturizes the historical object. The expressions of one s desires, fears, loves, and miseries can reveal larger social movements, describes Farge. She is not merely concerned about singular events, but the larger historical themes to which the events point. Undeniably, the experiences of the individual are inextricably linked to a surrounding society. Therefore, police reports (individually or collectively) hint at broader societal trends. One example she uses is an illiterate man, Thorin, who was imprisoned in the Bastille, and how his disjointed writings retained a voice, an intonation, a rhythm. With a 9/10 rating, the television series is a favorite amongst its many viewers, some even praising it as the best Shakespeare adaptation of all time . However, aside from providing entertainment, this television series is significant in a multitude of other ways. One of which is to reflect a pessimistic view on American politics. While Bill Clinton asserted humorously that 99% of House of cards is accurate, the 1% that s not accurate is that you can never pass an education bill that fast , in all seriousness, the excessive treachery and murder is not an accurate depiction of everyday Washington. Political science graduate Miles Kellerman asserted that if House of Cards proceeds in the spirit of a traditional Shakespearean tragedy , Underwood s clutch at power will prove ultimately self destructive. This relates to how Shakespeare s tragedies emphasize poetic justice, meaning that the antagonist would ultimately be punished, typically through death. Thus, Francis and Claire might face the same fate in the following season, similar to how Shakespearian anti heroes such as Macbeth meet their downfall after reaching the top of the political hierarchy. If the Shakespeare trajectory of punishing the evil is followed in House of Cards, this show serves the social function of discouraging politicians from misconduct. Voice Recorder, By Charlie Victor Charlie Victor Romeo, cockpit voice recorder, is a modern theatrical documentary derived entirely from the Black Box transcripts of six notable concrete airline emergencies. In this engaging and intensifying documentary, Charlie Victor Romeo positions the audience into perspective of being inside a tension filled cockpits of authentic flights in distress, which proposes an intriguing representation of the sensibility in a mid life crisis and a person s life at jeopardy. The six transcript samples of previous voice recordings came from various air flights and incidents such as flights American 1572, American Eagle 4184, Aeroperu 603, USAF Yukla 27, Japan Air 123, and United 232. The film primarily portrays a significant purpose of entertainment and political motives, but also highlights the issue with aviation safety and the usage of air tragedies to depict it along with the considerate lack of communication and organization established. Thus, to establish an epidemic, catastrophic disasters must occur to generate great awareness for the issue, so for a similar disaster to not transpire again. The play opens with a flight attendant demonstrating the airplane precautions, safety procedures and reminding passengers to fasten their seat belts and to turn off all cellular devices. The first one, of course, whenever I am dancing I can certainly feel like I am playing a game. By this I don t mean that I don t take dance seriously. For the contrary, I enjoy dance to a level where I feel just like when I am playing a videogame. Each new step I have to learn, represents a new challenge. Once I am able to correctly perform said step, I have to keep practicing until I can perform it perfectly, then I can move on to the next step. Once a choreography is complete, we, as dancers, are supposed to rehearse it over and over again until we feel as confident as we can in order to be able to perform it in the theatre. Puerto Rico has been a territory of the United States for almost a century. The citizens of Puerto Rico have always had different views on whether they want independence or greater autonomy. The following essay will focus on the commonwealth status of Puerto Rico and the attempted assassination of President Truman. The commonwealth status of Puerto Rico between the 1950 1952 was with limited autonomy since the Island was still under the Sovereignty of the United States (Francesco, C. Eugene, 1999). The United States annexed Puerto Rico following the end of the Spanish American War. For almost a century Puerto Rico has been under the influence of the United States. The constitutional convention of 1952 gave Puerto Rico the right to form a republican government. The citizens of Puerto Rico were not satisfied with the current status. For instance, under the commonwealth status, Puerto Ricans could not exercise their political rights. While they were considered the United States citizens, they could participate in the voting exercise in the United States. The Island has no representation in the Electoral College, which means that none of the citizens can take part in the presidential elections. • 22. Symbolism In William Faulkner s As I Lay Dying There are many symbols in As I Lay Dying. William Faulkner is known for symbols in his novels. The character s names in this novel even have a meaning. Although they are hard to decipher, once the symbol is revealed, it makes the novel much more interesting. Throughout the novel, we see that almost every person s name in the Bundren family has a meaning, and every person has a symbol. The last name has a meaning itself. Bundren sounds like burden, and that is exactly what the family is to almost everyone. Starting with Anse, Faulkner uses his name to define the word anserous . Anserous means resembling a goose; silly; simple. In Addie s chapter, she describes him as a tall bird hunched in the cold weather (pg. 170). This explains Anse s goose like stature. His symbol throughout the novelis self greed. Anse states after Addie s death, But now I can get them teeth (pg. 111). This just proves how selfish he is and does not care about his wife s passing, only about his new teeth. Addie s name is very simple and does not have a meaning, but her symbol is deep. She is always looking out of the window at her coffin being built while she is lying in her bed. I believe Faulkner was showing how badly Addie wants to go to the other side. Faulkner uses powerful imagery, It was nigh toward daybreak when we drove the last nail and toted it into the house, where she was laying on the bed with the window open and the rain blowing on her again (pg. 73). This shows how sad Addie is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An Analysis of Two Key Passages in Antigone An Analysis of Two Key Passages in Antigone During the Nazi occupation of France, Jean Anouilh produced an adaptation of Sophocles tragedy, Antigone, as a representation of the struggle between those collaborating with the occupants and those resisting them. While it is possible to read Anouilh s Antigoneas a texte de la Resistance , it can also be interpreted as an apologia for the Nazis severe, authoritarian behavior. The two key passages selected are crucial to the development of the play in that they highlight the clash between ideologies. While Antigone s speech offers an insight into her idealistic world view, Creons dialogue exposes his pragmatic approach to life. This conflict of thought and action epitomizes the conflict ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The harshness of Antigone s outlook is emphasised by Anouilh yet again when he has her say that Oedipus only became beautiful when all hope was gone, stamped out like a beetle [Passage A, line 26]. The violent nature of this simile reinforces Antigone s strong belief in the value self renunciation. Simultaneously, it emphasizes that the majority of ordinary citizens blindly follow the dictates of Creon s government and his pedestrian mode of thought, aiming for nothing more than the contentment of getting on with their lives. Repellent natural imagery is further utilized to distinguish Antigone s higher aims from those of Creon and all those who are attached to life at any cost: You [Creon] are all like dogs that lick everything they smell [Passage A, line 7]. This degrades Creon and his followers or fellow Collaborators to mere animals in that they live by their animalistic impulses, most of all the will to live, rather than upon any higher aim. This implies that pragmatism requires minimal thought or emotional effort, while idealism on the other hand, demands a powerful self control that can sublimate the animal will to live, and requires an advanced intellectual and emotional level. This apparatus does this by repeatedly writing the word of the law that the condemned person had broken into their flesh like a bizarre tattoo artist made of pain and blood. It is both sickening and fascinating to read the account of how this machine operates from the character named the Officer as he describes in gross details just what this monster of metal does to someone. But, why would Kafka write about these grisly details of blood and torn flesh? It was a metaphor for what happens when a punishmentsystem has lost sight of reform and justice.
