Opening Statement About Cowboys
Jordon Gutierrez 1/24/18 Life of cowboys Opening statement Now this goes without saying,
who hasn t heard of Cowboys, we ve all seen the movies, and heard about them in history. But
believe it or not there s a lot more to cowboys than grabbing their guns and shooting the bad guy
at the end then ride into the sunset. Cowboys had more interesting roles in their lives and it
mostly involved cattle with their work as it was an easy market at the time. It was hard work, but
it pays off! History The most important thing is the history about cowboys. Believe it or not, they
weren t called cowboys at first, or that it started in America, it all started with the Vaqueros.
Between 1519 1700s After the Spanish arrived in Mexico in 1519, ranches were... Show more

Later in history it was picked up by Americans and most notably Texans where These newcomers
adapted to the vaquero style and made it their own thus evolving into Cowboys. Life of
Cowboys COWBOY LIFE For the Cowboy life, starting out sounds easy but the work to come is
the hard part. Cowboys were mostly young men who needed cash. The average cowboy in the
West made about $25 $40 a month, income like that will surely bring out many who want to
work. In addition to herding cattle, they also helped around the ranch as helping hands, treated
horses, repaired fences and buildings, worked cattle drives and in some cases helped establish
frontier towns. (history.com 2010) When they were not working they lived and relaxed on a ranch
in a bunkhouse. For entertainment, some sang songs, played the guitar or harmonica and wrote
poetry. (History.org 2010) Cowboys went by many names in these times like cowpokes,
buckaroos, cowhands, etc. The most experienced cowboy was called the Segundo (Spanish for
second ) and rode squarely with the trail boss. (History.com

A Wrinkle Through Time Is The Story Of Meg Murry
A Wrinkle In Time is the story of Meg Murry, a high school girl who goes on an adventure
between dimensions with her younger brother Charles Wallace and friend Calvin to save her
father from the evil forces that hold him prisoner on another planet. These evil forces are known
as IT, and strive to create uniformity and obedience without any resistance. At the end of the
book the children have saved Mr. Murry from imprisonment on Camazotz, but Charles Wallace
was taken over by IT, the one who had Mr. Murry, and was left behind. Meg is forced to go back
to Camazotz alone to save her brother, using something that she has the IT can t fight. Using her
immense love for her brother she frees him from the control of IT and all four of them make it
home safely. I personally would have prefered a more tragic ending, so that s exactly what I m
going to be writing here. My ending diverges from the original plot line after Meg lands on
Camazotz alone to save Charles Wallace: Meg was standing breathlessly on the same hill that she
had landed on the first time she came to Camazotz. She looked around, and after realizing that she
was truly alone, felt dread pool in her stomach. The unforgettable voice of Mrs. Which still echoed

Examples Of Cross Cultural Conflict In The Tiger s Daughter
Introduction The Tiger s Daughter by Bharati Mukherjee is a realistic novel of the dual culture
based identity of the author who faces the mental duality due to the changes in the culture in the
long left India. She found difficult to adapt to the culture, customs, and traditions, which she depicts
through her female protagonists cultural crisis. The proposed study is an attempt to throw light on
to the cross cultural conflict of the 22 year old Tara when she revisits India after a seven year stay
in the United States. It highlights the cultural turmoil faced by Tara when she refuses to accept
Calcutta as her home again. This study also attempts to portray how the novelist herself intimately
projects her own self through the novel. The Tiger s Daughter and wife are about two different
problems of expatriates. The Tiger s Daughter, Mukherjee s first novel, is about the cross cultural

The major and foremost concern of all postmodern writers has been the life of South Asian

Calhoun, Georgia
Growing up in a small town, someone wouldn t think how much history is in that place. I m very
fortunate enough to live in a remarkable place that has a lot of history behind it. So let s begin this
journey together as we look back into the place that I call home.
Calhoun part of the Cherokee Nation, was once known as Oothacalooga Valley. It became a focal
point in the Trail of Tears as the Indians were pushed westward. After which the settlers took over
naming it Dawsonville. Dawsonville soon prospered as a community through the textile industry,
and grew into what we now know as Calhoun.
The Oothacalooga Valley area was originally home to the Cherokee Indians.

Honest Vino Case Summary
The report of Honest Vino s harvesters replacement frequency Summary This report will examine
why the company, Honest Vino, should replace the selected harvesters every 15 years rather than
every 10 years by Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) method. Based on the Vineyard s and harvester s
details, the Annual Equivalences (AE) of both replacement frequencies were calculated and
compared under the constant chain of replacement assumption. However, the specific assumptions
must be held in this analysis. Methodology There are two options for the harvesters: replaced every
15 years or every 10 years. They are mutually exclusive investments having unequal lives with
replacement. In order to maximise the firm value, the method of AE was used since the two
projects have the same discount rate, and AE method converts the NPVs of the projects into
annualised values which can be compared under this situation. The optimal option is the one with
higher AE when evaluating... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Specifically, the calculative formula is: AE=NPV/{[1 1/(1+r)^n ]/r}. Additionally, the calculation of
NPV is based on the discounted cash flows. Compared with other DCF methods, AE considers the
time, the amount of value and the risk of the cash flows. Other DCF methods are not appropriate
for this situation. For example, the Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) method does not take the size of
investment into account and does not consider for replacement in investment. Another method is
Internal Rate of Return (IRR) method, which may have multiple IRRs or no IRR, and does not
consider magnitude of value. Therefore, AE is the most intuitionistic evaluation method to value
and compare mutually exclusive investments. It indicates the investment s NPV in an annualised
presentation, which takes into account timing, magnitude and discount rate.

The Influence Of The Tokugawa Period In Japan
The Tokugawa period in Japan, otherwise known as the Edo period (1603 1867) was the final era
of traditional Japan (Britannica School 2015). Ieyasu Tokugawa united Japan, preventing Japan
from going into chaos. The Meiji Restoration period (1868 1912) consisted the return of full
emperor control and the birth of major political, economic and social change. During the Tokugawa
period Japan went through large economical change through the harvesting of agriculture to the
production of various items, all achieved through peace. From 1603 1867 Japan was fulfilled with
a 250 year war free country and isolation, only prior before the country was scattered into many
different rulers. United into one ruler, Tokugawa Ieyasu, during the Tokugawa period

Hacking Is The Responsibility Of The Computer System
The argument between two hackers who say that it is the responsibility of the owners of the
computer system to provide adequate security to keep hackers at bay are completely wrong.
Neither their argument nor their perspective holds ground. Before we look into the reasons
behind why they are wrong, it is important to first comprehend in detail about hacking and
hackers. So what is hacking? The term hacking was first promoted by the famous MIT between
1950s and 1960s. It all started as a fun experiment in a lab, but it led to something completely
different today. Hacking is a term used to describe unauthorized, illegal intrusion into a network
of connected systems or just an individual system. It is a technical effort or a process that is used
to exploit the vulnerabilities of a system or connected systems to gain unauthorized access. Today
it is synonymous with malicious activity on the web. The act of hacking is carried out by powerful
and highly skilled programmers known as hackers who possess advanced knowledge about the
systems. They do it because they are confident about their skills and succeeding in their hacking
attempts. These proficient individuals are extremely inquisitive who are in pursuit of private
information that is not publicly available. Accessing confidential or private information is just one
small part of hacking. They are capable of controlling, modifying and denying the system from any
kind of connections or cripple the system entirely bringing it

World War One Is Severely Lacking Essay
Kennedy s Over Here is a perfect read for historians and those people that have more than basic
knowledge about World War One. However, my education about World War One is severely
lacking. Either the incompetence of my high school education or the incompetence of my memory
in retaining the knowledge learned, lead to the reading of this book being very difficult for me.
Kennedy assumes that the reader knows what certain terms mean, who specific people are, and that
they are familiar with the events of the war. He went so quickly through a lot of background about
the war in the prologue that it got a bit confusing. In fact, the author s organization of ideas
throughout the whole book made reading it more difficult. I feel like the organization of the
thoughts or ideas presented left many main points unconnected, and thus understanding was
lacking. It seemed that once I started to understand one factor he would then move on too quickly
to another. For these reasons I struggled with following the ideas and timeline. Even though his
style/organization did not improve, I did become more accustomed to it halfway through. At that
point the book started to become more interesting and informative to me. I think I would have
enjoyed this book more if I had read another book by him previously, and was used to his writing
style/ organization. Most of the author s secondary sources are not current; this is both an asset and
a hindrance. The antiquity of his secondary sources meant he

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Clinical Decision Support
INTRODUCTION Clinical decision support provides clinical staff, patients and other individuals
with person specific information. The first computerized clinical support systems used in clinical
practice was developed in the 1970s. There has been an outstanding number of clinical successes
since their development, but their clinical practice routine is not as sustainable. Clinical decision
support help to aid the clinician with decision making using relevant content at the point of
computerized prescriber order entry ( American Journal of Health System Pharmacy , 2017).
Using the decision system for clinical informational outcomes is a way you can promote health
quality in the work place. In a way this can shorten the time that you must wait to see a provider. In
this analysis we will identify the strengths and weaknesses of clinical support systems. What are the
different challenges that support systems have yet to conquer? Why does clinical support matter in
healthcare? Hospitals utilize healthcare technology such as electronic health records to enhance
patients care and the development of clinical decision and support systems to stretch that goal.
There are a selection of tools that are put into place to enhance the decision making in the clinical
workforce. Different CDS tools consist of computerized alerts and reminders to care providers and
patients, clinical guidelines, condition specific order sets, diagnostic support, among other tools (

A Comparing Theme Of Frankenstein And Northanger Abbey
Theme of Frankenstein and Northanger Abbey
Have you ever thought that Frankenstein and Northanger Abbey can have the same theme? They
might be two different stories but, still be connected somehow. Frankenstein Victor Frankenstein
took his love of books to the fullest. After going to college, he took his learning to make a monster.
Northanger Abbey Catherine Morland was a teenager that did not have a lot of friends but she loves
to read Gothic novels. These stories has the same similarities but still has a different understanding
over the story. They both lost their best friends. They also has family that only connects with them
only sometimes.
Victor had a friend named Henry. After a friendless monster killed him, Victor, then became
friendless too. I saw the lifeless form of Henry Clerval stretched before me. (Shelly 223) The
monster killed Henry because Victor promises to make the monster a partner. At the last
moment, Victor decided to not finish the partner. Then Victor destroys the partner and the
monster gets really mad. After you read that part of the story you should always keep in mind to
always keep your promise. If you don t something bad might happen. Henry was the only main
friend to take care of Victor when he got sick. He was his family when his main family was
absent. The next paragraph is going to connect with Catherine losing her friend Isabella but, it is
not as painful as Victor. Catherine had a best friend named Isabella. After a lot of

Labor Rights and Reform
The Depression Era was a period of major strife brought about by speculation and largely
unregulated business practices. Almost everyone in the United States was affected, even many
citizens of other countries around the world, but the working poor were disproportionately
affected. Factory workers and farmers alike experienced a mass anti union sentiment since before
the turn of the century, and were subject to extremely hazardous working conditions, low wages,
and in the case of farmers, many accumulated mass debt to decreasing prices of produce. While the
great depressionled to the unnecessary suffering of working poor, it also led to many great
successes by the work of the labor movement, which went on to benefit future generations and...

Roosevelt (F.D.R.) also contributed a vast amount of success to the labor movement. While F.D.R
did care about the well being of the nation s workers, he cared about increasing his constituency
and limiting the competition of a third or fourth part. To do this, F.D.R. sought to gain the support
of the Socialist, Communist, Union and various other small leftist parties by including leaders of
these parties part in his administration (Lipset 283). F.D.R. also forged close relations with radical
politicians like Governor Frank B. Olson of Minnesota that increased his support for labor
legislation like the National Labor Relations Act of 1934, which F.D.R. initially opposed (Lipset
283). Due to the fact that citizens were increasing demanding government s help with growing
unemployment crisis, Roosevelt contributed his greatest addition to Labor s success, which was the
New Deal . Under this legislation, workers were guaranteed old age pensions in the form of Social
Security, unemployment insurance, and a new minimum wage (Lipset 293). The coalition forged
between Franklin D. Roosevelt and left leaning citizens brought about one of the most influential
pieces of legislation that continues to affect future generations. Both the readings and films serve as
an excellent lesson to contemporary politics. The fight for labor rights has not disappeared, and has
in fact become a dire situation yet again. Many Americans have become

How To Use Technical Errors In The Film Listen To Your Heart
The film Listen to your Heart, directed by Matt Thompson, is a romantic drama about a lowly
songwriter and a vibrant deaf girl. The film follows the pair through their relationship, showing
that is it is possible to have a relationship between the hearing and deaf. It also claims that because
they love each other, they will do anything for the other. This type of filmis extremely rare because
of the high quality of filming and use of a non speaking man character. However, this film is not
really looked upon by the deaf community as a good deaf film. There are many technical
mistakes made about deaf people making this film just a feel good movie, but nothing more. The

The day the couple meet, Danny gives Arianna his phone number, and spends weeks waiting for
a call. Finally, she shows up again at the restaurant claiming that she could not call because she
is deaf. Yes, she physically can not talk on the phone however, there are several different ways to
overcome this, one is to text, this movie is set in modern times where texting is available. She
could have used a TTY (Text Telephone) machine or a Video Relaying Service. Another problem
that has developed was when Arianna has received a letter to have the Cochlear Implant done
(CI). She never had a consultation by a doctor or examination to see she was eligible for the CI.
The implants do not work for everyone, however, Arianna goes ahead and has the surgery. Even
though it is possible for a CI to work for an Adult it is a rare case, because implants are typical
done for children. However, the biggest storyline mistake is Arianna had the surgery and was
able to hear music that Danny had written. This is completely impossible, it takes one to two
weeks after surgery, [a] doctor will fit [a person] with three parts: a speech processor, a battery

U2-Sweetest Thing
U2 Sweetest Thing
I have chosen this song for the tone it brings to this soundtrack. The beginning of The Count of
Monte Cristo is vividly different from the rest, as it introduces a perfect character, who has the
greatest of girls to soon marry, and has been promoted to captain of his ship. I feel that this song
has the same tone to it, while hinting at a change of fortune soon in the future by repeating I m
losing you , which mirrors the effect that Danglars has at this point, of foreshadowing that things
will not stay this way for Dantes.
Midge Ure The Man Who Sold The World These lyrics connect to the relationship between
Dantes and Villefort, beginning from their first meeting in Villefort s office. The song portrays
Villefort as he is in the book, feigning to be Dante s friend, when he had only himself in mind.
(Lines 4,13). Dante s surprise during his conversation with Villefort is also reflected in line five.
The bridge between their first meeting and their last is in lines fourteen to twenty, which describe
his journey from the Chateau d if, where Edmond Dantes died, and the Count of Monte Cristo
roamed for years and years. His stare is also described as gazeless, just as the Count seems to see

who deserve it on one hand, but on the other he is doing it selfishly, and has now unfairly brought

Music Culture And The Music Industry
Born in the late 1950 s, my dad, Robert, has experienced, first hand, the vast changes in the
music industry. The first step into the music culture was at the start of middle school when my
dad joined the school band. Playing the trumpet and baritone was the bait that caused him to
become immersed in music. This initial love of music led to the creation of a garage band with
a group of friends adding piano and guitar to the mix. Age 13 signified the second step into the
music industry with the purchase of his first record, the Eagles Hotel California . This catchy
tune was my dad s first record because the lyrics and beat had an appeal most other songs did not
have at the time. Five years later, marked the third step into the music industry by attending his first
concert, The Who. This concert left a lasting impression on anyone who witnessed it because it was
not just the radio anymore, it gave a visual form to the music. Listening to a songon the radio and
witnessing the band members perform the song live are two vastly different experiences. That
being said, it has been years since my dad has attended a concert. Although the concert was initially
an experience that left a lasting impression on my father, it did not turn him into a concert fanatic.
As he grew and matured over the years, as did his tastein music. Through his travels with the
United States Air Force, he was exposed to a broad variety of cultures along with their different
music and sounds. Although his

Shakespeare s language can be converted to thinking that if an individual does not have a lot of
money, yet that individual is happy, that they are affluent enough through ways besides money.
Shakespeare s idea that actualization in the absence of money is quite alike to that proposed
through Rockwell s painting. Rockwell s painting conjures up these conceptions in which
monetary wealth is not a controlling element in someone s happiness. By scrutinizing Rockwell
s portrait a bit more, you begin to pay attention to the finer details which can be seen only after
going over the painting numerous times over. One begins to see the subtle details, like the
caliber of the lads clothing and the things that they carry. The gleeful lads do not have shoes and
have an ample amount of openings in their clothing. The lad with the solemn appearance
possesses a clean white shirt which has been slipped into the pants, a bow surrounding his collar,
and clearly high priced fishing equipment. In the wake of observing the overall image of the
three lads, the spectator s sights are drawn to the fish that the classy boy is handling. The fish that
he caught isn t even 50 percent of the proportion of the fishes the two boys seized. The classy lad
in the middle is downhearted most likely due to the fact that he has just one small fish to display
for the day s labour. On the other hand, the other inelegant lads are holding many fish of okay
proportions. It is astounding that the lad

Family Structure And Juvenile Delinquency
In recent years it seems that early exposure to crime is increasing the number of crimes committed
by minors. This type of crime is mostly known as juvenile delinquency. Juvenile delinquency is
defined as young adults, people under eighteen, braking or violating the law (Websters). Family
structure can affect juvenile delinquency in numerous ways. Familystructure can include family
support system, home environment, and family unity. The independent variable is family structure
and the dependent variable is juvenile delinquency. Home environment plays a role in the
production of juvenile delinquency.
Kierkus and Hewitt (2009) in The Contextual Nature of the Family Structure/Delinquency
relationship discussed how family structure is an important factor in delinquency but there might
also be other factors that influence this type of behavior. The relationship between a nontraditional
family structure and delinquency differs according to six distinct circumstances: age, gender, race,
socioeconomic status (SES), family size, and place of residence (Kierkus and Hewitt, 2009). After
analyzing these circumstances only age and family size affect more the family structure
/delinquency relationship considering teens who suffered from parental attachment are older and
come from larger families (Kierkus and Hewitt, 2009). Researchers before have focused on one or
two issues dealing with family structure and delinquency (Kierkus and Hewitt, 2009). Studies have

Abstract
Maintaining a Nation Together During a Migration Crisis
Following this article, solutions to the migration crisis in Europe will be observed and closely
analyzed in order to ensure that a nation will remain stable and with standing ground on the nation s
policies and beliefs. Europe is facing the most extreme migration crisis since World War II as
refugees flee from their homes in Syria. As the Parliament of Committees explore different policy
ideas, a division between the European Nations is clear. The explanation stated for this division of
the European Nation is the pressure applied to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most serious refugee crisis since World War II is currently ongoing in Europe; impacting many
of the European Union s states, specifically coastal Greece and Italy, by migrating rapidly and in
large quantities. The number of refugees who arrive and currently reside in Greece and Italy
increases at a dangerous rate daily, and thus, the security of our fellow citizens is threatened by
the occurring disorder. As I stated in a debate regarding the provisional measures of international
protection for the benefit of Italy and Greece on September 8, 2015, the Schengen open borders
system and Commission place to accept and distribute large numbers of migrants throughout
Europe has worsened the migration crisis by encouraging the migration itself, in large quantities.
(Van Orden) By simply authorizing gateways into Europe, the said policies have induced the
anarchic exodus of Syrians. I am truly saddened by the loss of lives of and have great compassion
for those who continue to suffer great danger, and I am afraid that by encouraging large quantities
of people to continue to migrate, the European Union is worsening their situation in regards to
safety. (Van Orden 2015) The policy that shall instead be enforced is an establishment of improved
border security and a system in which the procession of migrants is in controlled and implemented
by the European Parliament. (Van Orden

Morals In City Of Lost Souls By Cassandra Clare
The book, City of Lost Souls written by Cassandra Clare, is about a girl named Clary, who is
half angel half human. Clary needs to save her lover Jace who has been brainwashed by her evil
brother Sebastian. Clary must stop Sebastian from summoning an army of demons and starting a
war between good and evil. When I read this novel, I felt envious. I felt this because the
ShadowHunters had so many supernatural abilities compared to humans. For example when we
learn that ShadowHunters are half human half Angel which means that they have the ability to
draw runes etc. Runes are drawings that give them certain powers, for example becoming
stronger, becoming invisible and healing etc. This would be awesome if I had the ability to
become invisible or have supernatural strength so that day to day routines would become easier. If
i had these powers I would use them to help people in distress, like a modern superman.... Show

The author seemed to be suggesting that power hungry individuals will do anything to gain their
goals without caring about collateral damage. We see this in the text when Sebastian forces the
Iron sisters to make the Infernal cup. The infernal cup is the opposite to the mortal cup and is
made with blood from a powerful demon named Lilith. The infernal cup turns Shadowhunters
into Dark Shadowhunter and replaces their Angel blood with demon blood, making them evil.
This proves that people hungry for power will do anything and use anybody to get more power.
People that hunger for power want power because they feel like they have to be in control. An
example of somebody who is power hungry is Kim Jong Un. I believe that this kind of behaviour
is not acceptable in today s society and should not be tolerated, because people need to be working
together and helping eachother out to function in

The Benefits Of Real Property In Mexico
Canadians and North Americans are buying more property in Mexico than ever before. This is
partly because the Mexican government has been making it much easier. In 1973 the Mexican
government changed their foreign investment law to allow non Mexican nationals to buy real
estate anywhere in Mexico except the Restricted Zone (which is located within 31 miles from the
coastline and 62 miles from its borders). In 1993 the law was amended to allow foreigners to buy
real property in the Restricted Zone by using a Fideicomiso which is a trust agreement established
with a Mexican bank. The bank acts on behalf of the foreign buyer holding the title to the real
property, becoming the trustee. The bank then, as trustee, has a fiduciary responsibility... Show

Some estimates say as low as 7% on a small loan amount or as high as 18% with larger loans from
private lenders. Credit scores can also have an impact like they do here in the United States. Paying
all cash upfront is simple, easy, and the norm in the past but financing is becoming more available.
Seller financing is very popular and works basically the same as it does here in the United
States. But there is also another type of seller financing called: Reserve of Domain. It is
typically used if the buyer has all the money to purchase the property, but it is tied up in assets
and isn t liquefiable at the time of sale. One example would be if the foreign buyer has the
money in an IRA and is only permitted to withdraw a small portion without being penalized. The
Reserve of Domain is easier and cheaper to set up than an ordinary mortgage. The buyer pays
the seller most of the sales price for the property. Then the buyer and the seller enter an
agreement regarding the payment of the remainder of the sales price. The deed is then put in
Reserve by a Notario Publico. When the buyer pays the seller the balance along with the interest
that was agreed upon, the seller contacts the Notario Publico and signs off that he s been paid. The
Notario Publico then goes to the Public Registry of Property and lifts the Reserve from the deed.
Large international banks working in Mexico can offer mortgage loans and some can even help you

it was possible to conclude which categories I ranked the highest in. My results signified that I
am an introvert who is sensitive and likes to think as well as judge, which can be referred to an

The Concept Of Groupthink Was Brought On By Social...

Groupthink: Research Paper
The concept of groupthink was brought on by social psychologist Irving Janis in 1972.
Groupthink is when a group is required to make a decision, and under that pressure, unifies to
make one that can appear as unanimous of that group. The fact that there is a necessity to come up
with a solution or an organized decision makes it so some members of the group will simply go
along with the view of the majority. The pressure from the group causes there to often be
questionable choices or outcomes. The results of groupthink could be risky or irrational in the rush
of the thoughts coming to their actual real life manifestation. Irving Janis emphasized that there are
eight symptoms of groupthink, and a few of which are present almost always. Groups allow for
encouragement and can lead to more extreme actions being carried out. Members of the group
disregard any obvious signs to abandon a dangerous notion, and they have little consideration for
ethics and morals that do not fall into line with their own. Groupthink incorporates stereotypes that
the group may hold into their decision making. Members that might not otherwise think in such
specific ways, are more likely to conform to the entirety of the group because of the power that
lies in numbers. Members of the group are unlikely to go against any of the group s views and will
result in them becoming more complacent and agreeable regardless or

The Prioritization Of Project Management
The Prioritization of Projects
Meaning of Priority:
It is relative right of prerequisite to the rare assets. On the off chance that the assets are high there
is no need of prioritize things. Here the assets are the things like time, human assets like staffing,
spot to do work and numerous different assets.
There are two separate ideas of that could be dead set from framework building and administration
of the framework designing activities. In this we have define the particular necessities of the stake
holders what they need and how they are eager to exchange the item in given assets.
Meaning of Decision Making:
A Decision is something that some individual picks the conceivable decisions of his own by
considering the potential outcomes. The entire motivation behind incorporating in the choice
making methodology is to settle on a balanced choice. Sound choice making means an inclination
that is suitable to effectively existing objectives inside the given conditions and compels of the
undertaking.
In project management, decisions are required throughout triple constrains:
Scope (how much functionality, at what quality level, for how many users, etc.)
Schedule ( can activities be crashed , can activities be aligned differently, can provider change its
schedule, can you skip/defer activities , can milestones be missed or eliminated, etc.)
Cost (can a segment of work be allowed to come in over cost; can you reduce the cost of a segment;
can you afford a scope change etc.)

Cyrano De Bergerac By Edmond Rostand
The play Cyrano de Bergerac, written by Edmond Rostand, was written based on the life of the
real Cyrano de Bergerac. Even so, the setting of the story itself contributed greatly to the character
Cyrano de Bergerac and the development of the story itself. Overall, the play has very specific
stage directions and gives a very detailed description of the setting for every scene. This helps the
characterdevelop as the story continues, while also giving background and mood to that scene in
which it describes. For example, things like the season being autumn in act five, stage directions
stating the green lawn has turned red (Rostand 199) and spots of darker color formed by box
shrubs (Rostand 199) showing how death is coming. It is being represented by the falling leaves
and its change in color. The setting of the play also gives cultural background to the society in that
time period.
Overall, setting contributes greatly to the play. One aspect that the setting contributes greatly to is
the characters within the play. One character that setting contributes greatly to in this play is
Cyrano de Bergerac. Cyrano as a character and also in real life was a Gascon. During this time
period there was also a revolutionary war in France, which contributes greatly to the storyline and
how Cyrano was sent off to war with the Gascon Cadets. It is because he, himself, is a Gascon it

The Inclination of Today’s Youths Towards Self-Harm
Many teenagers are suffering a hidden pain in the privacy of their homes. They secretly cut, burn,
scratch, pull hair, and bruise their bodies. The psychosis is termed non suicidal self injury
(NSSI).Teenagers are feeling pressures from typical insecurities of low self esteem, body image,
fashion trends, bullying, pressures from friends, and family issues. As a result, teens are turning to
the internet for strategies of how to deal with the pressures of life, making this topic more of a
public enigma, than a private sufferingissue. NSSI is a growing phenomenon and parents and
psychologists should advocate safe internet sites, and force social media outlets to provide links for
teens to access healthier ways to manage their emotions.
NSSI behavior is on the rise and is more prevalent among our youth today; due to images, other
teens upload on the internet. Today many teens are accessing self harmimages and content on the
World Wide Web
, through YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. The images are of the cuts and
burns that others have inflicted on themselves, while others are of diagrams depicting where to cut,
that parents and teachers will not notice. Some teens will use self injury to try to relieve their
feelings of anxiety and pressures they are feeling in their lives. According to Caitlin Dewey, in an
article from The Washington Post, an issue with internet sites is that they promote the activity as
normal and healthy, therefore encouraging teens to continue injuring

The Last Of The Mohicans Analysis
The book, The Last of the Mohicans, is a very deep book. There are many genres one could label
it as, but in some opinions, including my own, the most fitting one is adventure. There are a few
reasons for this, one being that the majority of the book is adventure. And there is only a little bit
of the other genres while adventure is the most fitting one. If one were to look up adventure genre,
the would find that most of the book identifies under that category. So if one asked what genre this
book was many would say adventure.
The last of the Mohicans unequivocally has a lot of adventure in it. In one of the first chapters,
the readers are introduced to an Indian who was posing as a guide for white men. When the crew
ran into Hawk eye and the Mohicans, Hawk eye quickly informed them that their guide was going
to lead them straight into an ambush. They tried to kill the guide, but he managed to get away.
Hawk eye knew that immediately after the Indian returned to his tribe the tribe would start hunting
down the new crew. They had to flew the area and find a hiding spot. All of this was in the earlier
chapters of the book and the adventure grows as time goes on. ... Show more content on

This story has a lot of action, the charters are constantly trying to get away from the Indians or
the French. The crew is almost always in danger or risk, this makes a lot of excitement for the
reader. It is a fast paced novel, it can go from one minuet fighting to the next hiding again, this
makes it hard to anticipate what is going to happen next. There is no doubt that this novel is of the
adventure genre.
If one were to ask what genre this book would be, one would think that many people would say
adventure. This is because most of the book is adventure. The reader had barely opened the book
before Hawk eye and the Mohicans tried to capture Magua. And there is a lot of adventure while
there is only a little bit of the other genres. If one was to look up the Adventure genre they would
find that this book definitely classifies under that genre, but not as much the other ones. This book
should undoubtedly be labeled under the adventure

Essay On Canarium
1.0 Introduction
Canarium schweinfurthii Engl. (Burseraceae) is a large tropical tree widely distributed in East,
Central, and West Africa. A mature tree reaches a height of 45 57 m with a straight cylindrical
bole up to 27 m with a trunk diameters of 1.2 to 1.5 m over a slight buttress root (Mbagwu et al.,
2008). The tree is cultivated for its fruits which are edible and produce oil which is harvested on a
large scale in West Africa. The oil from the resin is also used in perfumery and medicines due to its
lavender like smell. In Uganda, the resin from the tree is usually burnt to produce incense for
ceremonial purposes(Ssegawa and Kasenene, 2007). The stem and bark are used to treat coughs,

So far, no work has been done on the use of Canarium oil.
The resin of Canarium contains a high percentage of essential oils with known antioxidant and
antifungal properties (Koudou et al., 2005; Obame et al., 2007). Therefore, we were interested if
the essential oil could be used as a protective agent against termites as well. Furthermore, location
and climatic conditions have an effect on the growth of a tree and its production of resin and
essential oils. Therefore we wanted to establish if the oil from Uganda contains the same
components as the oils obtained from other parts of Africa.
In this study, the chemical composition of the essential oil from the resin of Ugandan Canarium
was determined, and its anti termitic activity was established.
2. Experimental procedures
2.1 Plant materials
The resin of Canarium schweinfurthii was harvested from the bark of a mature tree in Sango bay
and stored in a freezer. Termites used in the assay were Macrotermes bellicosus as these have been
found to be the most destructive to wood and timber. Termites above the third instar were used.
2.2 Isolation of essential oils
The essential oil was obtained by steam distillation of the resin (50g) for 4 hours. The oil obtained
was dried over anhydrous sodium sulphate and kept in amber coloured bottles at 4 oC prior to
analysis.
2.3 GC MS analysis
The essential was analysed on an Agilent GC 6890N/MSD 5973B with a fused

Test scores are still dismissed, and state officials have expressed concern that the pace of

also seen varying success in changing how teachers teach, something that was supposed to change
under the new standards. Standards were released for Mathematics and English language arts on
June 2, 2010, with a 45 states adopting the standards in the consequential months. There was an
incentive for the states if they adopted the Common Core Standards. President Obama and
Secretary of Education Arne Duncan announced the Race to the Top competitive grants on July 24,
2009 as a motivator for educational change. To be eligible, states had to adopt internationally
benchmarked standards. Though states could adopt other standards like college and career ready
standards, the Common Core standards automatically met the requirement. The governors and state
schools chiefs funded development of the Common Core Standards. (Melinda Gates Foundation,
Pearson Publishing Company, the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation) Though the Common Core
State Standards do not cover science and social studies content standards currently, the Next
Generation Science Standards are in are the final stage of being developed. They are not directly
related to the Common Core, but their content can be connected to the Mathematical and English
Language Arts standards.

The Monkey s Paws Short Story Summary
Appreciating what you have
Greed and lust for something you don t need can lead to tragic consequences Amoruso . The
story, The Monkey s Paws is about a magical, enchanted monkey s paw, that was given to Mr.
and Mrs. White by Sergeant Major Morris. The Sergeant Major has explained to them that the
paw had a spell cast. The Sergeant Major warns him about the consequences and then throws it

pounds to pay off the house. The next day, the couple s son Herbert is killed in an accident at
work, and the company pays the couple 200 pounds in compensation (Jacobs, 1 5), This connects
to the theme of Greed and lust for something you don t need can lead to tragic consequences
Amoruso because the couple did not know what they were getting into but were willing to make a

The Four Classifications Of Minority Serving Institutions
Before I began researching, I thought there were only four different designations for Minority
Serving Institutions. I was wrong. There is a range of designations for universities qualifying as
minority serving. Under Title III and V of the Higher Education Act of 1965 between sections, 316
and 320 there are six different categories. In this paper, we will begin with the overarching point of
understanding Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). We will then break apart the primary four
MSIs, the meaning, the purpose, and the progress and expansion of minority serving institutions.
The designation given to these institutions may seem like an alphabet soup but are really important
in understanding the different audiences that these institutions serve, and the ways they function.
Historically are represented by four of the most known classifications consisting of Hispanic

The Effects Of Stress On The Body
Stress
Stress has no defined definition and cannot be measured. It varies across each individual. It can
be either good stress or bad stress depending on the nature, extent and outcome. It can be a good
stress if it is temporary, positive, motivational and helpful for an individual to accomplish more and
can be a bad stress if it leads to mood swings and affects body systems. Stress is mostly commonly
known as physical, emotional and mental disturbance of a human body. Things that are stressful for
one person cannot necessarily be stressful for others.
Workplace stress is common in adults but children, teenagers; elderly people can also undergo
stress for various reasons that can include increase violence, peer pressure, substance abuse, social
isolation, loneliness, loss of support etc. These are powerful stress busters.
Contemporary Stress
This kind of stress can cause more psychological problems than physical threats. Blood sugar level
increases, blood clots can occur, rapid increase of heart rate and blood pressure. Our body
undergoes changes to fight or flight the stress but when this is repeatedly invoked it may lead to
heart attack, stroke and other deadly conditions.
Effects of Stress
Stress can lead to emotional and physical disorders including anxiety, depression, stroke, heart
problems, gastrointestinal disorders, mood swings, skin diseases and various other diseases. The
American institute of stress has a list that shows 50 common signs and symptoms of stress.

The Innocence of Daisy Miller Essay
In 1878, Henry James wrote, Daisy Miller, a novella about a young American girl and her travels
in Europe. Daisy Miller is a complex short story with many underlying themes such as appearance
versus reality, knowledge versus innocence, outward action versus inward meditation, and Nature
versus urbanity. In this short story, one is left to judge whether DaisyMiller, the main character of
the story, is a pretty American flirt or a misunderstood, modern young woman. By probing into the
complexitiesand contradictions of Daisy s character, it is obvious that Ms. Miller is merely a
misunderstood young woman.
Through his novel, Henry James shows his readers that the gap between what people believe to be

He decides a pretty American flirt would be acceptable for him to know. Mainly he wants an
excuse to spend time with her. His desire for her to be innocent and undesigning reflects not only
on her true personality but also on his lust for her.
Mrs. Costello s character symbolizes old money and culture, even though she is American, and
thus sets up a stark contrast to Daisy Miller, a character devoid of much ritual or formality. Mrs.
Costello had lived much of her life in Europe and had kept a society so intentionally exclusive in
America that she has separated herself from any of the qualities associated with the innocence and
natural spontaneity of an American.
She believes the Miller s to be common and tells Winterbourne to stay away from them. However,
Daisy represents to Winterbourne what he lacks, standing as a metaphor of what all of Europe
lacks, as long as Daisy does not go too far with her social freedom.
Winterbourne is largely blinded to the honesty and innocence that Daisy imparts because he has
trouble recognizing a manner that has become foreign to him. Thus when Daisy walks calmly
along with both Giovanelli and Winterbourne in the Pincio and does not seem anxious to get rid of
Winterbourne, Winterbourne is perplexed (36 37). He does not realize that she does not know
better and she will ruin herself because of it.

Touching Spirit Bear And The Last Dog On Earth
Touching Spirit Bear and The Last Dog on Earth are both stories of young men in worlds of
violence and turmoil, one caused by inner conflict, and one in a broken world. Touching Spirit

tales of young men who overcome their struggles and forge or repair connections with others.
These stories focus on the shared themes of anger, and family, and contrasting themes of

each of these books, a conflict with family causes the main character to struggle, and the conflict is

The Procedure Of The Skin
Introduction
The skin also known as the Integumentary system is the largest organ in the human system; it
covers about 20 square feet. The skin has many functions, most of it is having to act as a protection
agent. The skin is an important organ because it stops unwanted things from entering the body
through the pores. It protects us from microorganisms; it cushions and insult the tissue laying
underneath it; it protects the skin from involuntary damages like cuts and bumps; It protects us
from chemical damages like acids, alkalis and many more, protects us from thermal damages
like heat. The skin acts as a first wall of defense for things on the outside by disallowing them to
enter and for things on the inside by disallowing them to leak out or exposed. For example, the
skin stops fluid leakage from the body and it helps keeps and maintain the basic body
temperature. The skin not only protects and cushions, it also acts as an excretory system. It helps
excrete some toxic substances the body doesn t need just like the urinary system does. It does this
by releasing salts, water, and urea in form of sweat through the pores of the skin. The skin has three
regions, but only two of them are distinct. The three regions are the Epidermis, the Dermis, and the
Hypodermis; the two that are distinct are the Epidermis and the Dermis layer. The epidermis is the
physical layer we can see and touch while the dermis is the layer underneath the epidermis that we

Homelessness Praxis Lab Report
Homelessness has proven to be a stubborn community issue in Utah, so much so that it was listed
as one of Utah s top ten priorities by the Utah Foundation. This is due to the fact that, according to
the Department of Workforce Services, nearly 15,000 people are considered homeless (continuous
homeless for one year) as of 2015. The homeless population, in addition to having no stable home,
faces a range of challenges in both their health and social situations. These issues include substance
abuse, mental health disorders, criminal records, and extended periods of unemployment. Despite
the state providing funding for housing, particularly with House Bill 436 of 2016, these issues will
certainly impede the ability of these people to maintain stable housing. For the purpose of the
Praxis Lab idea, the focus of this Praxis Lab description will be on the substance abuse problems
and mental health disorders the homeless experience. The lab would incorporate students majoring

Society Policy students will explore the lifestyle, environmental exposure, and socioeconomic facets
of the homeless. Together, these students will have the purpose of creating a more long term and

Most Significant Events Essay
Some of the most significant events that took place during the 1st and 2nd century AD, was
pentecost and St Paul s conversion. Pentecost was 50 days after the Passover. Pentecost occurred
when the 12 Apostles gathered in a house, when they saw a violent wind come from heaven. It
filled the area, and they saw tongues that looked like fire that separated and was above each of
them. This was the first time the Apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit, which allowed them to
speak different tongues. One of the Apostles filled with the Spirit preached to everyone that they
should be baptised and they too would be filled with the Holy Spirit. 3000 were baptised, which

night we had plenty of time to talk to each other, because though the game should only last for
about an hour, there were many advertisements and performance which made the whole game
last for approximately four hours. I called Renjie, a missioner, when I was back to my dorm. We

Photography Controversy
Photography has been enjoyed by countless people since the late 1800s, the time period in which
when it was popularized. It has been a lifelong passion of some, and a passing hobby of others.
However, when it comes down to business, much fun can be had with photography. I am here to
persuade you why photographyis fun, and why I think it is a worthwhile hobby to have.
Photography is fun because it allows the photographer to form an unbreakable bond with the object
that they are photographing; it gives unseen insight into that which is being photographed. A
photographer s job is to create meaningful and inspiring images. A high quality good camera
definitely aids in this, but it is by no means necessary. All that is really required is a complete
understanding of the subject matter. Correct photography is centered around knowing the subject
enough to portray it accurately, otherwise it will appear false. In such cases, edits do are not even

Hardly any money can be made with photography, and that fact is hard to argue with. Photographs
only sometimes only give inspiration, nothing else. They do not contribute to society at all and just
provide a distraction from the real world. Also, photographs only capture a moment in time that
will never change. The object might have been beautiful then, but what about of the object now?
Photographs never tell the whole story, rather a glimpse of that moment. Additionally, photographs
can easily be manipulated in third party programs such as Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom.
Photographs never show an object for its true beauty because of this fact; it is far too easy to
change an object and make it inaccurately show what an object actually is. For these reasons, many
people advise Pphotographers to should spend their time focusing on a sustainable, real

How Did The French Revolution Affect Morocco
In the 17th and 18th centuries Morocco wanted to be colonized by both the French and the
Spanish. This caused great tension between the two and lead to much fighting. In 1904, France and
Spain agreed on a conclusion that Morocco would be split into zones of French and Spanish
influence. Spain got to control a small portion of the southwest that became to be known as the
Spanish Sahara; while the French controlled the rest of Morocco. The colonization of Morocco
contributed many economical, political and social advances throughout history that are still seen in
modern day. Economical effects have impacted Morocco widely. Trade is one of Morocco s strong
points. Morocco traded items with the EU and, all together, was worth approximately 32 billion
American dollars in 2013 (Trade). The EU took in many supplies from Morocco, but there were
three main areas that stood out. Those areas included machinery and transport equipment,
agricultural products, and clothing (Trade). Machinery and transport equipment was shown to be
the most dominate area for trading. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

current day. Much time has past since the war and since then there has been many changes
throughout Morocco and the, use to be, Spanish colony (Reforms). When the new king, King

when it came to a couple of topics such as human rights, individual freedom and reforms. Since then
King Mohammed continues to help other countries in its fight with extremist and terrorist groups.

I Work For A Great Company
I work for a great company. Malarkey Roofing Products has been in the roofing products business
for over 60 years, both manufacturing and distributing quality roofing materials. We have a sales
force of over 60 sales representatives, three manufacturing plants, and a few hundred
administrative and union workers. Our products are distributed globally and we continue to
expand into new markets; which makes it imperative that our company run like a well oiled
machine. A company this size requires a lot of teamwork between individuals, departments and

If that is the case, the overall goals should be readdressed and more specific. But I digress. The true
issue is the lack of a common company goal or vision and determining where that comes from.
One of the major areas I see my team struggle with is this idea of the fourth dysfunction, which is
the avoidance of accountability. This can be seen when an employee can give you departmental
goals, but not necessarily the company s goals or visions. Up until recently, our company
operated under a silo mentality . In other words, each department was operating independently of
each other, with no regard to what the other departments were doing. Nobody knew what anyone
else was responsible for, or how our departments worked together, thereby eliminating the ability
to hold each other accountable. Brent Gleeson points out that this concept is not healthy for any
business. This type of mentality will reduce efficiency in the overall operation, reduce morale,
and may contribute to the demise of a productive company culture (Gleeson Rozo, 2013, para. 1)
When we cannot hold each other accountable, we cannot reach a common goal. We begin to
operate without a vision or operate with very limited vision, placing the overall goals of the
company as more of a suggestion than a goal.
My department (a team of five people) struggled with our

The Book Of Nehemiah In The Bible
In the Bible, the book of Nehemiah reveals the not so common traits of a man named Nehemiah.
Through God, Nehemiah restored the hope of the Israelites and rebuilt the wall of Jerusalem.
Because of Nehemiah s open heart and strong faith in the Lord, he was used in miraculous ways.
The story of Nehemiah starts out with a cup and a king. The Jew Nehemiah was appointed
cupbearer of the King Artaxerxes, and as Nehemiah was a man of strong faith and character, he
found favor in the king s eyes. Since the king trusted Nehemiah so much, he noticed his cupbearer s
unusual sadness one day. He asked what troubled him, and Nehemiah explained that his people (the
Jews), who had been returned to Jerusalem after seventy years of captivity, had not yet rebuilt their
walls which meant they were not safe from enemies. Although Nehemiah had not been to the city
yet, he was saddened because of the city s culture and history with God. пїј!1... Show more content

to have safe conduct until he arrived in Judah; a letter to the keeper of the royal park to receive
timber for the beams of the gates, the city wall, and the place that he will stay. The king agreed to
this, and also sent army officers and cavalry with Nehemiah. God answered Nehemiah s prayers
and provided him with diligence to ask for these things and gave him favor with the

  • 2. Opening Statement About Cowboys Jordon Gutierrez 1/24/18 Life of cowboys Opening statement Now this goes without saying, who hasn t heard of Cowboys, we ve all seen the movies, and heard about them in history. But believe it or not there s a lot more to cowboys than grabbing their guns and shooting the bad guy at the end then ride into the sunset. Cowboys had more interesting roles in their lives and it mostly involved cattle with their work as it was an easy market at the time. It was hard work, but it pays off! History The most important thing is the history about cowboys. Believe it or not, they weren t called cowboys at first, or that it started in America, it all started with the Vaqueros. Between 1519 1700s After the Spanish arrived in Mexico in 1519, ranches were... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Later in history it was picked up by Americans and most notably Texans where These newcomers adapted to the vaquero style and made it their own thus evolving into Cowboys. Life of Cowboys COWBOY LIFE For the Cowboy life, starting out sounds easy but the work to come is the hard part. Cowboys were mostly young men who needed cash. The average cowboy in the West made about $25 $40 a month, income like that will surely bring out many who want to work. In addition to herding cattle, they also helped around the ranch as helping hands, treated horses, repaired fences and buildings, worked cattle drives and in some cases helped establish frontier towns. (history.com 2010) When they were not working they lived and relaxed on a ranch in a bunkhouse. For entertainment, some sang songs, played the guitar or harmonica and wrote poetry. (History.org 2010) Cowboys went by many names in these times like cowpokes, buckaroos, cowhands, etc. The most experienced cowboy was called the Segundo (Spanish for second ) and rode squarely with the trail boss. • 3. A Wrinkle Through Time Is The Story Of Meg Murry A Wrinkle In Time is the story of Meg Murry, a high school girl who goes on an adventure between dimensions with her younger brother Charles Wallace and friend Calvin to save her father from the evil forces that hold him prisoner on another planet. These evil forces are known as IT, and strive to create uniformity and obedience without any resistance. At the end of the book the children have saved Mr. Murry from imprisonment on Camazotz, but Charles Wallace was taken over by IT, the one who had Mr. Murry, and was left behind. Meg is forced to go back to Camazotz alone to save her brother, using something that she has the IT can t fight. Using her immense love for her brother she frees him from the control of IT and all four of them make it home safely. I personally would have prefered a more tragic ending, so that s exactly what I m going to be writing here. My ending diverges from the original plot line after Meg lands on Camazotz alone to save Charles Wallace: Meg was standing breathlessly on the same hill that she had landed on the first time she came to Camazotz. She looked around, and after realizing that she was truly alone, felt dread pool in her stomach. The unforgettable voice of Mrs. Which still echoed in her ears. • 4. Examples Of Cross Cultural Conflict In The Tiger s Daughter Introduction The Tiger s Daughter by Bharati Mukherjee is a realistic novel of the dual culture based identity of the author who faces the mental duality due to the changes in the culture in the long left India. She found difficult to adapt to the culture, customs, and traditions, which she depicts through her female protagonists cultural crisis. The proposed study is an attempt to throw light on to the cross cultural conflict of the 22 year old Tara when she revisits India after a seven year stay in the United States. It highlights the cultural turmoil faced by Tara when she refuses to accept Calcutta as her home again. This study also attempts to portray how the novelist herself intimately projects her own self through the novel. The Tiger s Daughter and wife are about two different problems of expatriates. • 6. Honest Vino Case Summary The report of Honest Vino s harvesters replacement frequency Summary This report will examine why the company, Honest Vino, should replace the selected harvesters every 15 years rather than every 10 years by Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) method. Based on the Vineyard s and harvester s details, the Annual Equivalences (AE) of both replacement frequencies were calculated and compared under the constant chain of replacement assumption. However, the specific assumptions must be held in this analysis. Methodology There are two options for the harvesters: replaced every 15 years or every 10 years. They are mutually exclusive investments having unequal lives with replacement. In order to maximise the firm value, the method of AE was used since the two projects have the same discount rate, and AE method converts the NPVs of the projects into annualised values which can be compared under this situation. The optimal option is the one with higher AE when evaluating... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Specifically, the calculative formula is: AE=NPV/{[1 1/(1+r)^n ]/r}. Additionally, the calculation of NPV is based on the discounted cash flows. Compared with other DCF methods, AE considers the time, the amount of value and the risk of the cash flows. Other DCF methods are not appropriate for this situation. For example, the Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) method does not take the size of investment into account and does not consider for replacement in investment. Another method is Internal Rate of Return (IRR) method, which may have multiple IRRs or no IRR, and does not consider magnitude of value. Therefore, AE is the most intuitionistic evaluation method to value and compare mutually exclusive investments. It indicates the investment s NPV in an annualised presentation, which takes into account timing, magnitude and discount rate. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hacking Is The Responsibility Of The Computer System The argument between two hackers who say that it is the responsibility of the owners of the computer system to provide adequate security to keep hackers at bay are completely wrong. Neither their argument nor their perspective holds ground. Before we look into the reasons behind why they are wrong, it is important to first comprehend in detail about hacking and hackers. So what is hacking? The term hacking was first promoted by the famous MIT between 1950s and 1960s. It all started as a fun experiment in a lab, but it led to something completely different today. Hacking is a term used to describe unauthorized, illegal intrusion into a network of connected systems or just an individual system. It is a technical effort or a process that is used to exploit the vulnerabilities of a system or connected systems to gain unauthorized access. Today it is synonymous with malicious activity on the web. The act of hacking is carried out by powerful and highly skilled programmers known as hackers who possess advanced knowledge about the systems. They do it because they are confident about their skills and succeeding in their hacking attempts. These proficient individuals are extremely inquisitive who are in pursuit of private information that is not publicly available. Accessing confidential or private information is just one small part of hacking. They are capable of controlling, modifying and denying the system from any kind of connections or cripple the system entirely bringing it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. World War One Is Severely Lacking Essay Kennedy s Over Here is a perfect read for historians and those people that have more than basic knowledge about World War One. However, my education about World War One is severely lacking. Either the incompetence of my high school education or the incompetence of my memory in retaining the knowledge learned, lead to the reading of this book being very difficult for me. Kennedy assumes that the reader knows what certain terms mean, who specific people are, and that they are familiar with the events of the war. He went so quickly through a lot of background about the war in the prologue that it got a bit confusing. In fact, the author s organization of ideas throughout the whole book made reading it more difficult. I feel like the organization of the thoughts or ideas presented left many main points unconnected, and thus understanding was lacking. It seemed that once I started to understand one factor he would then move on too quickly to another. For these reasons I struggled with following the ideas and timeline. Even though his style/organization did not improve, I did become more accustomed to it halfway through. At that point the book started to become more interesting and informative to me. I think I would have enjoyed this book more if I had read another book by him previously, and was used to his writing style/ organization. Most of the author s secondary sources are not current; this is both an asset and a hindrance. The antiquity of his secondary sources meant he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They might be two different stories but, still be connected somehow. Frankenstein Victor Frankenstein took his love of books to the fullest. After going to college, he took his learning to make a monster. Northanger Abbey Catherine Morland was a teenager that did not have a lot of friends but she loves to read Gothic novels. (Shelly 223) The monster killed Henry because Victor promises to make the monster a partner. At the last moment, Victor decided to not finish the partner. Then Victor destroys the partner and the monster gets really mad. After you read that part of the story you should always keep in mind to always keep your promise. If you don t something bad might happen. Henry was the only main friend to take care of Victor when he got sick. He was his family when his main family was absent. Almost everyone in the United States was affected, even many citizens of other countries around the world, but the working poor were disproportionately affected. Factory workers and farmers alike experienced a mass anti union sentiment since before the turn of the century, and were subject to extremely hazardous working conditions, low wages, and in the case of farmers, many accumulated mass debt to decreasing prices of produce. While the great depressionled to the unnecessary suffering of working poor, it also led to many great successes by the work of the labor movement, which went on to benefit future generations and... While F.D.R did care about the well being of the nation s workers, he cared about increasing his constituency and limiting the competition of a third or fourth part. To do this, F.D.R. sought to gain the support of the Socialist, Communist, Union and various other small leftist parties by including leaders of these parties part in his administration (Lipset 283). F.D.R. also forged close relations with radical politicians like Governor Frank B. Olson of Minnesota that increased his support for labor legislation like the National Labor Relations Act of 1934, which F.D.R. initially opposed (Lipset 283). Due to the fact that citizens were increasing demanding government s help with growing unemployment crisis, Roosevelt contributed his greatest addition to Labor s success, which was the New Deal . Under this legislation, workers were guaranteed old age pensions in the form of Social Security, unemployment insurance, and a new minimum wage (Lipset 293). The coalition forged between Franklin D. Roosevelt and left leaning citizens brought about one of the most influential pieces of legislation that continues to affect future generations. • 13. How To Use Technical Errors In The Film Listen To Your Heart The film Listen to your Heart, directed by Matt Thompson, is a romantic drama about a lowly songwriter and a vibrant deaf girl. The film follows the pair through their relationship, showing that is it is possible to have a relationship between the hearing and deaf. It also claims that because they love each other, they will do anything for the other. This type of filmis extremely rare because of the high quality of filming and use of a non speaking man character. She could have used a TTY (Text Telephone) machine or a Video Relaying Service. Another problem that has developed was when Arianna has received a letter to have the Cochlear Implant done (CI). She never had a consultation by a doctor or examination to see she was eligible for the CI. The implants do not work for everyone, however, Arianna goes ahead and has the surgery. Even though it is possible for a CI to work for an Adult it is a rare case, because implants are typical done for children. The beginning of The Count of Monte Cristo is vividly different from the rest, as it introduces a perfect character, who has the greatest of girls to soon marry, and has been promoted to captain of his ship. I feel that this song has the same tone to it, while hinting at a change of fortune soon in the future by repeating I m losing you , which mirrors the effect that Danglars has at this point, of foreshadowing that things will not stay this way for Dantes. Midge Ure The Man Who Sold The World These lyrics connect to the relationship between Dantes and Villefort, beginning from their first meeting in Villefort s office. The song portrays Villefort as he is in the book, feigning to be Dante s friend, when he had only himself in mind. (Lines 4,13). Dante s surprise during his conversation with Villefort is also reflected in line five. The bridge between their first meeting and their last is in lines fourteen to twenty, which describe his journey from the Chateau d if, where Edmond Dantes died, and the Count of Monte Cristo roamed for years and years. His stare is also described as gazeless, just as the Count seems to see the world around him. The second and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 16. Music Culture And The Music Industry Born in the late 1950 s, my dad, Robert, has experienced, first hand, the vast changes in the music industry. The first step into the music culture was at the start of middle school when my dad joined the school band. Playing the trumpet and baritone was the bait that caused him to become immersed in music. This initial love of music led to the creation of a garage band with a group of friends adding piano and guitar to the mix. Age 13 signified the second step into the music industry with the purchase of his first record, the Eagles Hotel California . This catchy tune was my dad s first record because the lyrics and beat had an appeal most other songs did not have at the time. Five years later, marked the third step into the music industry by attending his first concert, The Who. This concert left a lasting impression on anyone who witnessed it because it was not just the radio anymore, it gave a visual form to the music. Listening to a songon the radio and witnessing the band members perform the song live are two vastly different experiences. That being said, it has been years since my dad has attended a concert. Although the concert was initially an experience that left a lasting impression on my father, it did not turn him into a concert fanatic. As he grew and matured over the years, as did his tastein music. Through his travels with the United States Air Force, he was exposed to a broad variety of cultures along with their different music and sounds. Although his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Shakespeare s language can be converted to thinking that if an individual does not have a lot of money, yet that individual is happy, that they are affluent enough through ways besides money. Shakespeare s idea that actualization in the absence of money is quite alike to that proposed through Rockwell s painting. Rockwell s painting conjures up these conceptions in which monetary wealth is not a controlling element in someone s happiness. By scrutinizing Rockwell s portrait a bit more, you begin to pay attention to the finer details which can be seen only after going over the painting numerous times over. One begins to see the subtle details, like the caliber of the lads clothing and the things that they carry. The gleeful lads do not have shoes and have an ample amount of openings in their clothing. The lad with the solemn appearance possesses a clean white shirt which has been slipped into the pants, a bow surrounding his collar, and clearly high priced fishing equipment. In the wake of observing the overall image of the three lads, the spectator s sights are drawn to the fish that the classy boy is handling. The fish that he caught isn t even 50 percent of the proportion of the fishes the two boys seized. This type of crime is mostly known as juvenile delinquency. Juvenile delinquency is defined as young adults, people under eighteen, braking or violating the law (Websters). Family structure can affect juvenile delinquency in numerous ways. Familystructure can include family support system, home environment, and family unity. The independent variable is family structure and the dependent variable is juvenile delinquency. Home environment plays a role in the production of juvenile delinquency. Kierkus and Hewitt (2009) in The Contextual Nature of the Family Structure/Delinquency relationship discussed how family structure is an important factor in delinquency but there might also be other factors that influence this type of behavior. The relationship between a nontraditional family structure and delinquency differs according to six distinct circumstances: age, gender, race, socioeconomic status (SES), family size, and place of residence (Kierkus and Hewitt, 2009). After analyzing these circumstances only age and family size affect more the family structure /delinquency relationship considering teens who suffered from parental attachment are older and come from larger families (Kierkus and Hewitt, 2009). Clary needs to save her lover Jace who has been brainwashed by her evil brother Sebastian. Clary must stop Sebastian from summoning an army of demons and starting a war between good and evil. When I read this novel, I felt envious. I felt this because the ShadowHunters had so many supernatural abilities compared to humans. For example when we learn that ShadowHunters are half human half Angel which means that they have the ability to draw runes etc. Runes are drawings that give them certain powers, for example becoming stronger, becoming invisible and healing etc. This would be awesome if I had the ability to become invisible or have supernatural strength so that day to day routines would become easier. Seller financing is very popular and works basically the same as it does here in the United States. But there is also another type of seller financing called: Reserve of Domain. It is typically used if the buyer has all the money to purchase the property, but it is tied up in assets and isn t liquefiable at the time of sale. One example would be if the foreign buyer has the money in an IRA and is only permitted to withdraw a small portion without being penalized. The Reserve of Domain is easier and cheaper to set up than an ordinary mortgage. The buyer pays the seller most of the sales price for the property. Then the buyer and the seller enter an agreement regarding the payment of the remainder of the sales price. The deed is then put in Reserve by a Notario Publico. When the buyer pays the seller the balance along with the interest that was agreed upon, the seller contacts the Notario Publico and signs off that he s been paid. • 28. The Concept Of Groupthink Was Brought On By Social... Jacqueline Gavrielova Professor Bernstein SSY 250 02/22/2016 Groupthink: Research Paper The concept of groupthink was brought on by social psychologist Irving Janis in 1972. Groupthink is when a group is required to make a decision, and under that pressure, unifies to make one that can appear as unanimous of that group. The fact that there is a necessity to come up with a solution or an organized decision makes it so some members of the group will simply go along with the view of the majority. The pressure from the group causes there to often be questionable choices or outcomes. The results of groupthink could be risky or irrational in the rush of the thoughts coming to their actual real life manifestation. Irving Janis emphasized that there are eight symptoms of groupthink, and a few of which are present almost always. Groups allow for encouragement and can lead to more extreme actions being carried out. Members of the group disregard any obvious signs to abandon a dangerous notion, and they have little consideration for ethics and morals that do not fall into line with their own. Groupthink incorporates stereotypes that the group may hold into their decision making. Members that might not otherwise think in such specific ways, are more likely to conform to the entirety of the group because of the power that lies in numbers. Members of the group are unlikely to go against any of the group s views and will result in them becoming more complacent and agreeable regardless or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. The Innocence of Daisy Miller Essay In 1878, Henry James wrote, Daisy Miller, a novella about a young American girl and her travels in Europe. Daisy Miller is a complex short story with many underlying themes such as appearance versus reality, knowledge versus innocence, outward action versus inward meditation, and Nature versus urbanity. In this short story, one is left to judge whether DaisyMiller, the main character of the story, is a pretty American flirt or a misunderstood, modern young woman. By probing into the complexitiesand contradictions of Daisy s character, it is obvious that Ms. Miller is merely a misunderstood young woman. He decides a pretty American flirt would be acceptable for him to know. Mainly he wants an excuse to spend time with her. His desire for her to be innocent and undesigning reflects not only on her true personality but also on his lust for her. Mrs. Costello s character symbolizes old money and culture, even though she is American, and thus sets up a stark contrast to Daisy Miller, a character devoid of much ritual or formality. Mrs. Costello had lived much of her life in Europe and had kept a society so intentionally exclusive in America that she has separated herself from any of the qualities associated with the innocence and natural spontaneity of an American. She believes the Miller s to be common and tells Winterbourne to stay away from them. However, Daisy represents to Winterbourne what he lacks, standing as a metaphor of what all of Europe lacks, as long as Daisy does not go too far with her social freedom. Winterbourne is largely blinded to the honesty and innocence that Daisy imparts because he has trouble recognizing a manner that has become foreign to him. Thus when Daisy walks calmly along with both Giovanelli and Winterbourne in the Pincio and does not seem anxious to get rid of Winterbourne, Winterbourne is perplexed (36 37).
