To any prospective parent, a school needs to present all the facts about itself, so as the parent may
make the choice that is best for their child. Thirty years ago, when I was in school. There was no
concern about scores, diversity, etc. You just went to your local elementary, middle and high school
.
Today parents are much more informed and curious about where their child is going to go. To
some parents, it is quite important to have their children attend a culturally diverse school. There is
a richness that comes from students working side by side with others who are not of the same
cookie cutter mold, notes Jean Snell. (Great ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Unfortunetly, space is limited to about 120 students because of funding. Local high school and
college students come and tutor for their community service and for credits. Data has provided
some evidence of strong improvement for kids who have attended SNAP. In looking at data
from the DMS Single Plan for Student Achievement, at the start of the 2008 2009 school year,
they looked at ten students that had flunked two or more academic classes. At the end of the
school year, 7/10 kids, who were in SNAP, finished without flunking any class (DMS SPSA,
2010). In school academic classes, programs have been implemented for those that are CELDT 1 3

are born in other countries, have not much education and have recently arrived in the community.
Another important part of a school improvement plan is The student population at DMS is made

economic group, with 40% living at or below the poverty line. The Caucasian population is made

class. The socio economic gap between the two groups is quite high. Over the last few years the

Musical Theatre As A Theatrical Performance
Musical Theatre is a theatrical performance when the story is told through dialogue, song, and
dance. Back then, people didn t Snap Chat, Face Time or watch TV for entertainment; they would
go to the Theatre for a night out, first date, etc. To give a more definitive description of how
musicals evolved, affected, and influenced throughout history, a time line of major musicals that
defined certain stages of Musical Theatrewill probably help people understand what makes it so
unique.
Now a quick history lesson, Musical Theatre technically was created in 5th Century BCE Ancient
Greece, when staged comedies and tragedies would be told with a bit music and dance...but
Musicals didn t fully emerge into the world until the early 20th Century when the art form went to
London, England, and then to America, which formed the famous theatre district, Broadway. Now
that the basics are covered of where Musical Theatre came from, this paper is more about how
Broadway Musicals evolved into what they are in present day, how people have reacted to such
performances, and how musical theatre has impacted not only America, but also the world.
The first era of Musical Theatre actually started in the 1920 s 1930 s during the Great Depression.
This was a the first time there were musicals other than the fun, young, and enjoyable shows, the
first example of this would be the musical Show Boat, which premiered in December 1927, the
music was by Jerome Kern, book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II,

Negative Effects of Technology Depicted in Aldous Huxley s Brave New World Imagine a life
where the technology is so great that no one ever has to be worried about being sad or bothered
by all the day to day stress. In Brave New World published in 1932, Aldous Huxley brings the
reader into the future of London to see just what technology can do to a society. As the novel
opens, the reader learns about how the futuristic London is a Utopia, what life is like, and all about
the great technological advancements. After Bernard is introduced to the reader, he goes to the
Reservation and meets John, the Salvage, where he finds out how different life is between the two
societies. In the end, the Controller Mustapha Mond sends Bernard and... Show more content on

Another way dystopia is reveled in the novel is through the actions of John. When he is brought
back to London, he does not understand how and why the people live that way. The author
makes it seem as if the people have no feel for what freedom is, it is almost as if they are slaves,
trained and conditioned to do what they are supposed to do. In an attempt to get the people to
believe and rebel against the civilized world, John throws the soma out the window. Soma is a
pill that is given to the workers to take them to a soma holiday, a place where one is always
happy and can not be bothered by the outside world. After throwing the soma out the window,
John and Bernard are taken to Mustapha Mond s office, a controller of London. John and the
Mustapha Mond get into a discussion about what makes London so great. On page 263
Mustapha Mond says, [the people are] ignorant of passion and old age. He is wondering what
more anyone could one want besides never getting old or fat and never having to worry about
all the heartaches of passion. The final way the characters show dystopia is through their
speech. Mustapha Mond says, [the people are] plagued with no mothers or fathers . . . or lovers . . .
they re so conditioned that they practically can not help behaving as they ought to behave (264).

Bacterial Transformation Is The Process Of Transferring...
Introduction:
Bacterial transformation is the process of transferring bacteria. This begins with genetic
transformation where genes transfer from an organism to another with the help of plasmid. Plasmid
contains one or more piece of DNA within bacteria. This technique is used commonly in technology
specifically designed for biology usage to enhance the culture around with positive results. It is also
used to solve common world problems, such as human insulin and drought resistant crops. In this
experiment, the attention was focused on the bacteria, Escherichia coli, also known as E. coli, that is
commonly found in intestinal stools. This experiment was conducted in order to test the hypothesis
that the GFP will glow underneath the UV light if +pGLO +Ara (Arabinose sugar) were present. It
is an overall interesting investigation because bacterial transformation has benefits in agriculture,
bioremediation, and even in medicine today that can help with gene therapy.
Materials Methods:
The materials required for this experiment were 2 micro test tubes, a foam rack, sterile pipette(s),
250mL transformation solution(гЂ–CaClгЂ—_2), an ice bucket, and 5 plates (1 LB, 2 LB
/Ampicillin, 1 LB/Arabinose, and 1 LB/Ampicillin/Arabinose). All of the materials that are listed
were used to test the hypothesis. To begin the experiment, the 2 micro test tubes needed to be
gathered and labeled with one written as +pGLO and the other as pGLO . After that was finished,

The Depiction of Morgan Le Fay in
Various Accounts of The Arthurian
Legend
Morgaine speaks.... In my time I have been called many things: sister, lover, priestess, wise woman,
queen. So begins Marion Zimmer Bradley s account of the Arthurian legend, which places unusual
emphasis on the character of Morgaine, otherwise known as Morgan Le
Fay. But who exactly is Morgan and how does she vary in the different accounts of the
Arthurian legend? In order to assess how Morgan Le Fay is depicted throughout history, it is first
important to establish who she is and what part she plays in the legend. Five different texts:
Geoffrey of Monmouth s The History of the Kings Of Britain, ... Show more content on

The original full retelling of the Arthur story, Monmouth s The History of the
Kings of Britain, has few female characters. Morgan Le Fay is once such decided absence.
Not only does she play no part whatsoever in the legend, but she is never even mentioned.
Mordred, who is often her son by an incestuous relationship with Arthur, is instead the son of Anna
and her husband, Loth, the King of Lothian. Anna is as close as Monmouth gets to a Morgan like
character. She is the sister of Arthur, and daughter of Igraine and Uther.
She gives birth to Mordred, who is the means by which Arthur s death comes about, and
Gawain, one of Arthurs most loyal and trusted knights. Le Morte D Arthurby Malory shows an
entirely different perspective as to the role and person of Morgan Le Fay in the Arthurian legend.
She is one of Arthur s three sisters, the others being Morgause and Elaine. Morgause marries King
Lot of Lothian and has four sons including Gawaine while Elaine marries King Nentis. Arthur has
an incestuous relationship with Morgause and she gives birth to Mordred. Meanwhile
Morgan is continually conspiring against Arthur in an attempt to avenge his father s poor treatment
of Igraine. Morgan steals Arthur s sword Excalibur and gives it to her lover
Accolon, who challenges Arthur so that he might become High King. Accolon is fatally wounded.
Morgan also attempts to sabotage Arthur s knights several times. Mort Artu, a

The Relationship Between Sensitivity And Punishment And...
The Relationship between Sensitivity to Reward and Punishment and Eating Behaviours
Courtney Andrews
Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University
Abstract
A study involving 252 participants undergoing the course Biological Psychology was carried out in
order to examine the correlation between sensitivity to reward (SP), Body Mass Index (BMI),
weight and more frequent consumption of unhealthy fast foods, (e.g., high in fat and sugar). The
core results showed the participants found that sensitivity to reward was strongly negatively
correlated with BMI and weight. However, both these correlations are not statistically significant at
the 95% confidence level. Alongside this finding, sensitivity to reward was positively correlated
with unhealthy fast foods, which leads to more frequent consumption of fatty and sugar rich foods.
These values were also not statistically significant. This research needs to consider gender balance
inequality, environmental cues such the accessibility of fast food (e.g., the amount and distance
these restaurants are from their home residence) and one time collection of data used.
The Relationship between Sensitivity to Reward and Punishment and Eating Behaviours
Undoubtedly, the obesity epidemic in western society has never been so prevalent as the rate
continually is climbing. There is an ample body of research that suggests that more frequent
consumption of unhealthy fast

Nightcrawler A Sociopath Analysis
It was a pleasant surprise seeing that NightCrawler was one of the film choices for this
psychopathy paper, I saw it in theaters when it was originally released and it has been one of my
all time favorites ever since. Even after rewatching it countless times since, the movie still never
fails to keep my attention. One thing is for sure, Jake Gyllenhaal s character, Louis Bloom, is a
bona fide psychopath. I will go into greater detail about the reasoning for this later, after discussing
what exactly being a psychopath entails and the different traits that are used to characterize them.
Believe it or not, many people in today s society cannot really distinguish between the two terms,
psychopath and sociopath. Back in the early 1800s, the doctors that were working with mental
patients began to realize that some of their patients who appeared outwardly normal had what they
termed a moral depravity or moral insanity . These patients seemed to have no sense of the rights of
other people, or even of ethics in general. The term psychopath was initially applied to these
individuals around the beginning of the twentieth century. In the 1930s, the term switched to
sociopath to focus more heavily on the detrimental effect that these people can have on... Show

Is The Molecular Interaction Of CD8 + T Cells With...
The interaction of CD8+ T cells with peptide MHC complexes (pMHCs) is a key event in the
development of cell mediated immunity (Grakoui, 1999). MHC class I (MHC I) molecules
typically present 8 11 aa peptides derived predominantly from proteasomal degradation of
intracellular proteins, either self peptides or infection derived antigens (Blum, Wearsch, Cresswell,
2013). T cellreceptors (TCRs) from CD8+ T cells bind antigenic pMHC molecules, triggering a
downstream signaling cascade that leads to T cell activation, differentiation, and ultimately to
cytolysis of target cells presenting the same epitope (Hennecke Wiley, 2001). Vaccines and
immunotherapies for the treatment of infection and cancer seek to incorporate cytotoxic T cell...

Although computational tools have improved over the past decade, they have not been trained to
predict immunogenicity. The major limitation when using such prediction algorithms is the
presence of a significant number of binders from a given antigen that will never lead to an immune
response (Newell et al., 2013). Thus, immunogenic CTL epitopes fulfill additional criteria that go
beyond antigen processing and MHC binding.
Here, we sought to identify the biochemical criteria that define immunogenicity within the subset
of MHC I binding peptides. Using a curated repository of MHC I epitopes from the Immune
Epitope Database (IEDB) (Vita et al., 2009), we evaluated the biochemical properties of aas that
discriminate between immunogenic epitopes and non immunogenic self peptides. We found a
strong bias towards hydrophobicity in aa residues of immunogenic CTL epitopes that is highly
selective for exposed TCR contact residues. Using these criteria, we trained an artificial neural
network (ANN) model to identify immunogenic CTL epitopes from a data set and empirically
assessed our prediction model for 3 human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV 1) Gag protein variants
in a murine model of immunogenicity. We demonstrate the utility of this ANN

The Importance Of The Nigerian Education System
An experience I feel fortunate to have had is the Nigerian education system. As a result of my
journey through the flawed but wholesome education system, I have developed many skills at
such a young age. I have learned to take initiative in my classes, because, a common tradition in
Nigerian schools is for teachers to test students on topics not covered and justify those actions by
giving students a scheme of work, which is essentially a list of topics to be covered in the school
year. Going through this system, I have learned to befriend older students and ask them for their
notes, to study, as the Nigerian school curriculum hasn t changed in 50 years, much like the
stance on corporal punishment in schools. According to my parents I had it easy as in their time
both girls and boys were whipped on their rear but currently girls are hit on their palms,
fingertips, and their legs, which is progress. However, the instruments of pain have not changed
as, students are hit with cables, kobokos, omoroguns and pankeres. I personally have a memento
of a beating gone wrong in the form of a scar. The beating gone wrong happened when I was 4
and a teacher hit me so hard, my head was knocked toward the corner of my desk where an
exposed nail ripped the skin of my jaw. Interestingly, this was one of the main motivations behind
my wanting to be a pediatrician because I was stitched without anesthesia while being held down by
four nurses. While the Nigerian educationsystem has its flaws, I

So as the divide narrows, it gets deeper. This is not the only comparable cause of the digital
inequality since, both countries have many factors that are impacting their digital divide issue such
as, the internet usage gap between the older and younger generations, the correlation between
income levels and the level of computer illiteracy. Firstly, in both Australiaand Malaysia, there is a
correlation in the age of its citizens and internet usage. Australians aged from 18 to 29 years old are
nine times more likely Internet users than those over fifty, according to the Australian Bureau of
Statistics. While in Malaysia, there are very similar studies with similar results such as, the ones
done by Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission where most of the internet users
are 20 through 24 years old. This gap may be caused by the mindset of the older generations that
may feel like that they have been living without information technology for so long, they have no
need for it, even though, information technology could help them become more effective and
efficient. Some of them may also feel that information technology could jeopardize their jobs if
certain processes are automated with the use of information technology which, can actually create

Usefulness Of The Statement Of Work Essay
Introduction
The attempt for this paper is to explain the usefulness of the statement of work (SOW) and a
development plan (DP). The SOW can devise a plan for this client with possible interventions,
plans and pre work, task, and innovative ideas to better her current situation. The SOW is a detailed
description of activities that are conducted under a contract (Business Dictionary.com, 2016). She
may consider implementation of change in various departments. However, the bottom line for this
client seems to be that she wants her employees to work as a team without harsh feelings toward
one another. In addition, she would like the employees in her product division to work more
harmoniously together.
A DP is an opportunity for the different departments and the client to plan for employee
development strategies and enhance the business functions. During this process reviewing
interventions, plans and pre work, task, and innovative ideas may aid everyone in focusing as a
team in the future. Here the idea is to enable those vested to have a more defined picture of
potential costs and drawbacks to certain business decisions and to help them modify accordingly
before implementing any ideas. It is important for those vested to continue on the path of their
ultimate objectives through this development planning process.
Statement of Work
The preparation of an effective SOW requires both an understanding of what this client needs are
and what goods or services are needed for each

Human exposure can occur through multiple routes, however oral exposure is the major route of
exposure to BPA, thus, oral exposure occurs because of the leaching of BPA from polycarbonate

detected in indoor air primarily associated with dust, which indicates exposure can occur through

Comparing Witchcraft And Wicca Religion
As time moves forward many ideas and concepts move forward with it. Wicca and Witchcraft

witchcraft for centuries. This dark cloud has lifted and we are able to understand with a scientific
mind why there was a dark area in history covering Witchcraft. Witchcraft and Wiccaare not the
same thing, contrary to what many people believe. Wicca is the religion, and some, but not all
Wiccans practice witchcraft.
Witchcraft and Wicca is also referred to as Old Religion. This is because it takes place during a

Ethics of SUVs
We have all seen them rumbling around the highways of America, blocking the view of the road
and pounding the ground with their enormous engines. Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) have
become a part of our culture, as cars did before them and hoarse and buggies before that.
Transportation has always been a part of society s development as it continues to change and adapt
to our needs as well as our technology. In the beginning transportation was needed for making war
on other villages, or for getting between towns, but these same animals of old were also used to till
the lands and to cultivate crops. Automobiles on the other hand have changed this entire picture as
they are used primarily for transportation. However, as this ... Show more content on

It should be noted that four wheel drive technology has been around since the turn of the twentieth
century. From the 1940 s to the 1980 s these primitive SUVs changed little as they were rough
riding, back country vehicles used by the armies, campers, and hunters of the world to move easily
under the toughest of conditions.
In the early 1980 s changes in the SUVs began to occur as family sizes grew, gasoline prices
dropped, and more people wanted to head out into the country on weekend excursions. The
growth of sales gradually increased until the end of the 1980 s when a sudden change in car
markets occurred. People no longer wished to drive the family station wagons of days past,
nevertheless they still needed vehicles that could transport many people, but with a new style. The
car market found satisfaction in the sport utility vehicles. Though they were rough and not nearly
as refined when compared to car standards people like the concept. The idea of being able to go
anywhere anytime appealed to many as they began to drop thousands of dollars into these new
vehicles.
Before 1980 SUV design as well as production had always been behind cars, however, it did not
take long for the car manufacturers such as GM and Ford to begin mass production of SUVs.
With the jump in sales of SUVs the demands of buyers became more and more upscale. No longer

A Lecture On Chatterton, Oscar Wilde s Career
At the time he delivered his lecture on Chatterton, Oscar Wilde s career was transforming. He was
transitioning from the performances he had honed during four solid years of addressing countless
audiences and was developing, with greater energy than ever before, his profile as an accomplished
author, critic, and editor. His discovery of Chatterton stands at the center of these changes.
Paying close attention to Chatterton enabled Wilde to understand that the astonishing inventiveness
of the Rowley forgeries evinced the imaginative impulse that inspired the finest forms of
imaginative literature. Exploiting the links between imagination, authenticity, and truth, Chatterton
s artistic originality arose in fabrications that conjured a literary past that historically never existed.
Such fakes, Wilde knew from his reading about Chatterton, might strike some interpreters as the
result of ungovernable, if not immoral, impulses.
In the critical essays and shorter fiction that Wilde wrote from the mid 1880s onward, he radically
inverted such interpretations. Throughout these essays, shorter fiction, and dramas, generous
artistic license, lying, and even criminal intent become as we explain in later chapters the
foundation for great art.
Understanding Chatterton s artistry not only informed Wilde s creative work; it also shaped his
knowledge of the Romantic poets, whose works he had long admired. If Wilde s interest in Keats
and Shelley stemmed from his university days, through

care system that need loving and stable homes so why not let gaycouples give that to them? There
is a lot of evidence to show that gay couples can be just as good at parenting as a straight couple.
Maybe even better due to them being committed and better motivated because they chose to be
parents. No child should be denied parents that will give them a loving and stable home just as no
couple should be denied a child due to their sexual preference.... Show more content on

Not a single study has found a difference (between children of gay and straight parents) that you
can construe as harmful. (Dan Gilgoff, 2005) While the debate continues on whether or not to
allow gay couples to adopt, the numbers of children with gay parents keeps increasing. Children
with gay parents thrive and continue to do just as well as children in straight homes. However,
critics disagree and feel that children living in gay homes are at risk of having an unhappy life.
Gregory Rogers, a writer living in South Africa, believes that children in gay homes will have
issues that include the instability of homosexual relationships, evidence of widespread pedophilia
within the gay community, and the possible psychological and social problems associated with
children reared in homes without a mother and a father. Rogers believes it is wrong to trust
homosexual couples with the fragile and impressionable development of children.(2013) Even
though a lot of people feel the same way that Rogers does, that does not mean that it is true.
Statistics have shown that children that are raised by gay parents do just as good as children raised
by straight parents. Kerry Hosking, a psychology and metaphysics student said It is not possible to
discriminate against prospective (gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender) parents, without also
showing utter disrespect for the thousands of kids who need them so

The Three Branches Of Government

15 July 2017 Three Branches of Government In the United States, our federal government is made
up of three branches. The first branch includes the President of the United States presenting the
Executive. The Executive Branch takes control in making sure the people of the United States obey
all laws. The President works with Congress to administer laws. The second branch of government
includes the Legislative branch, also known as Congress. The Legislative Branch includes the
Senate and the House of Representatives. There are 100 senators 2 from each state and 435
representatives. The number of representatives is decided by population of state. The third branch
of government is the Judicial Branch which includes 9 Justices of Supreme Court. The Supreme
Court makes all decisions meaning they are the highest of all courts. Center of operation for all
three branches are located in Washington, DC. The President of the United Stateshas many
demands that are required to keep this country running smoothly. The Constitution shows many
responsibilities of a president, but with advancing society, many expectations are altering and
getting harder. First of many roles include Chief of State. Chief of State is the individual a
country calls on when it needs a spokesperson to talk with a foreign country. When a country

Dividend Policy and Share Prices
Introduction
In this paper the impact of dividend policy of the companies on the firm s share prices is analysed
and different views in the context of the semi strong form of the efficient market hypothesis are
contrasted. The overview of the traditional and most recent empirical investigations of the stock
market reaction to the dividend announcements is provided and different findings are discussed and
compared.
Three companies have been selected from the FTSE All share price index. These companies are
Tesco, Burberry and Vodafone. These firms belong to different sectors of the economy. Tesco is the

Dividend Announcements and Share Prices
Dividend announcements and their impact on share prices can be explained by the semi strong
form of the efficient market hypothesis (EMH). Efficient market hypothesis implies that the only
thing that may impact the stock prices is new information, since all other possibly influencing
parameters are already included in the firm s stock price (Palan, 2004).The efficient market
hypothesis may be divided into three forms: the weak form, the semi strong form, and the strong
form. The weak form implies that share prices bear or reflect the past prices and trade volume
information, the semi strong form adds publicly available information to the weak form, and the
strong form adds even insider information to the efficiency approach (Harder, 2008).
Empirical evidences show that successive changes in stock prices are independent and this
independence is in line with the efficient market hypothesis, as markets promptly react to the new
information (Fama et al., 1969). In this context it may be assumed that dividend announcements
convey particular positive information about the company and provide signals about future
performance of the firm. The decision about paying dividends is made by the firm s managers and
often supported by shareholders voting. Since dividend announcements bear useful information,
from the efficient market hypothesis view point this

Essay on Chad s Creative Concepts Case Study
Chad s Creative Concepts Case Study
1. What types of decisions must Chad Thomas make daily for his company s operations to run
effectively? Over the long run?
Chad Thomas needs to make sure daily manufacturing schedules are aligned with the current orders.
The fact that the same set of employees and the same set of tools are being used to manufacture
both the custom and the standard pieces of furniture is definitely problematic. In order to meet the
demands of each product, it is critical that scheduling be created in the most efficient of manners
given the current constraints. Allocating all the resources properly is a key along with scheduling
and layout. In regards to long term decisions, Mr. Thomas is going to have to decide ... Show more

The custom line has taken priority, however, due to the higherdollar sales, and the standard lines
products were often left temporarily incomplete till the custom orders were met. This is a
significant problem because the consumers of the standard furniture expect lower lead times and
lower prices.
3. How has the move to producing standard furniture affected the company s financial structure?
The profits have increased for the company with the custom line accounting for 60% of volume
and 75% of dollar sales according to this case study. The standard line has seen a continued
increase in sales as well. What comes with the increased profit due to the increased manufacturing
is the need to put higher amounts of capital into storing the higher inventory. With the company
being at capacity, the lead times may not be meeting consumer demands either. The expansion that
is needed would initially cost Chad s Creative Concepts greatly. Without some type of expansion
(which would most likely require a new plant), soaring inventory costs will need to be attended to.
4. What might Chad Thomas have done differently to avoid some of the problems he now faces?
Perhaps Mr. Thomas should have studied and evaluated what pursuing a standard line of furniture
in addition to maintaining the custom line of furniture would

Historical Context Of Babylon Revisited
Knowing the historical context of a work is crucial to understanding both its general meaning and
its deeper essence. Often times, authors use their works as outlets to freely express their personal
feelings toward a social trend or issue. As such, the time in which a story is written can have a
strong influence on the message the author is trying to convey to his or her reader. Their personal
reflections can be asserted in many ways; among the most common being through the characters
themselves and their development throughout the work, the setting, and the implied themes.
An example of a work that is heavily influenced by the time period in which it was written is F.
Scott Fitzgerald s short story Babylon Revisited. Set in Paris during the 1920s, this work
delineates the story of a man named Charlie Wales who was at the pinnacle of his life when he
succumbed to greed, irresponsibility, and addiction. As a result of his carelessness, Wales
experiences a tragic downfall. He not only endures the death of his wife Helen, but he also loses his
material fortune, his reputation, and most importantly the custody of his daughter Honoria.
The time in which this story occurs the 1920s is vital to the plot. Dubbed The Roaring 20s, this
period is notorious for glamorizing lifestyles centered around materialism, gluttony, and self
absorption. The early 20th century brought about extreme social and political changes that
influenced the lifestyles and attitudes of the public.

Social Anxiety Disorder And Social Phobia
Social anxiety disorder or social phobia, is can be progressively debilitating condition which may
affect individuals for the duration of their lives and with low rates of recovery among patients
(Chartier, Hazen, Stein, M.B, 1998). Studies have shown that the disorder has an early onset with
symptoms manifesting on average at age 16 in most adolescents. Social anxiety disorder features
intense feelings of irrational fear of possible embarrassment and scrutiny of others during social
situations (Canton, Scott, Glue, 2012; Ruscio et al., 2007). The effects of this disorder can be
especially disabling as individuals have an increased risk of suffering from comorbid disorders

CBT uses various treatment strategies to help patients work on maladaptive behaviors by targeting
symptoms, reduce the stress caused by them and helping client acquire skills that will allow them to
change their way of thinking and responding to stress inducing situations. In this approach, the
therapist focuses on the here and now (Zborowski, 2014) while assisting the patient by supporting
and encouraging them to use personal resources to confront problematic behaviors. Both classical
and operant conditioning are methods used in behavioral interventions, although elements modeling
are often incorporated. Several methods and techniques are used during CBT such as systematic
desensitization, exposure, relaxation, positive and negative reinforcement, cognitive modification,
problem solving and stress management. Exposure and relaxation methods will be discussed during
this paper, as most of the trials used these methods during treatment. During exposure, patients are
repeatedly exposed to an anxiety producing stimulus and encouraged to resist from engaging in
avoidance behavior. The patient then rides out the anxiety producing stimulus until it subsides
allowing for emotional habituation (Leichsenring et al., 2006). Patients are also thought relaxation
techniques to allow them to manage and reduce stress during situation of high anxiety. Another
technique used in one of the studies discussed later is cognition modification. This methods helps

Jimmy Carter And His Foreign Affairs
On the other extreme is Jimmy Carter, president from 1977 to 1981. Ranked last for both his
foreign affairs and his overall presidency, Carter left the Oval Office a very unpopular man.
Carter s sole accolade came from the Camp David Accords of 1978 9. Carter invited Israeli prime
minister Menachem Begin and Egyptian prime minister Anwar Sadat to Camp David, the
presidential retreat, to work out an agreement. Carter played a major role in the negotiations,
mediating a dispute that resulted in a peace treaty, that is still intact to this day. Not only did this
agreement lay down a long held peace between two neighboring countries, but it also solidified
U.S. ties in the Middle East. Carter s other policies and actions are very different, such as the
Torrijos Carter Treaties. These treaties between Panama and the U.S. granted Panama control
over the Canal as of 1999 for almost nothing in response. The conservatives of Americans felt as
though Carter had given away the Canal without receiving anything in return, and this made them
believe that our nation was becoming weak under his power. The people s Crisis of Confidence
clearly and accurately portrays the conservative s opinions during Carter s presidency. Carter s
biggest failure was indeed the Iranian Hostage Crisis that lasted up until the preceding president s
first day in office. In November 1979, Islamic militants who were supporters of the Ayatollah took
over the American Embassy in Tehran, taking 52 Americans

Hindenburg
Within seconds, 35 people were dead and many fled for their lives. This was the case with the
Hindenburg catastrophe. The three most significant topics that are of significance in this tragedy
will be about the arrival , the escaping and confusion as the ship ignited, and the statistical fact upon
Hindenburgs inflation with hydrogen. The first important focus on the Hindenburg tragedy is the
arrival in
Lakehurst, New Jersey. Commander Rosendahl, who was head commander of the ship s arrival,

From the arrival, the next focal point is the tragic explosions and the escape of the passengers
aboard the Hindenburg airship. The first explosion occurred approximately four minutes after the
first bow rope had dropped to the field.
Rosendahl remembered this moment and exclaimed, It seemed as if the whole world was
holding its breath. One heard no command, no call, no cry. (Archbold, 181) A man by the name
of Helmut Lau, was walking on a catwalk keeping an eye on the mooring cable when he heard a
muffled detonation. He thought the combustion originated near the center of the cell by a
walkway, but everything happened so fast he couldn t be sure. Another cell men by the name of
Hans Freund was closest to the faint explosion as it occurred, yet his back was turned and had no
clue where the fire actually started. As the Hindenburg, which was inflated with hydrogen, was
being engulfed with flames the head captain ,Max Pruss, was at the head of the ship with other
captains and none of the officers yet understood what was happening. Seconds later however,
Captain Sammt, who was leaning out a port window along with Pruss remarked,

Gram Stain Lab Report
Purpose: The purpose of a Gram Stain procedure is to distinguish bacteria into two fundamental
groups of cells. There are the Gram positive cells and the Gram negative cells. By staining the
cells either violet or red, we can see the two types and their arrangements on the smear. Theory
and Background: 1.After swabbing some microbes from my cheek, I spread the bacterial smear
on the slide. In order to make them stick to the slide, I hold it near a heat source so they can
attach. Then I flood crystal violet on the smear. The color of violet binds to the Gram positive cell
membranes and to the outer membrane of Gram negative. After waiting about a minute for the dye

Some of them were in short chains. I also notices that the Gram negative cells, which were
stained red, are rod shaped. They were spread out across the slide and did not seem to cluster.
Conclusion: 1.After viewing the end result of the Gram Stain, I saw that the Gram positive
bacterial cells were stained violet, while the Gram negative cells were stained red. In the mixed
culture under the microscopes, I was able to notice that the Gram positive cells, Enterococcus
durans, were in clusters of short chains. The Gram negative, Proteus mirabilis, were in rod
shaped forms that were spread across the slide. These cells did not seem to cluster. 2.I came to
this conclusion of which cells were on my slide after I compared my microbes to the physical
and chemical characteristics of the microbes in the textbook. The Gram positive characteristics in
the Gram stain matched up with those of an Enterococcus durans cell. There were some
diplococcic or short chains across the smear. These cells also had the same circular shape. I figured
the Gram negative cells were Proteus mirabilis because of the rod shaped cells that were spread
across the slide

Risks of Teenagers Obtaining a Driver s Licence
Most teens look forward to getting a driver s license. But that may change if they know that they
have a much higher risk of having a motor accident than adult drivers. In the United States, driving
accidents are a leading cause of death among teenagers. These accidents happen mostly in
populated cities. This problem has caused each state to have its own drivinglaws for teens. Although
this problem is already a priority in many states, it should get more attention from the general
public, especially teens. It is important for people to know about driving laws because these laws
can help establish safe driving habits. California laws that attempt to decrease teen caused auto
accidentsinclude establishing a minimum age for passengers of teenage drivers. In California, a
new driver cannot transport anyone who is under 20 years of age unless a licensed adult is also
in the vehicle. Another effective law in California requires teen drivers to have at least 50 hours
of supervised driving during the learner s permit stage. This law is effective because it allows
teens to learn how to drive safely on the road with the help of an experienced driver. Although
some laws are effective, teens are still known to cause accidents. Therefore, a solution should be
proposed to the state governments that will call for a law that requires teens to take an annual
mandatory driving testfor a certain number of years after obtaining a license.

Naguib Mahfouz’s Zaabalawi Essay
Naguib Mahfouz s Zaabalawi
The Islamic tradition, as reflected in Naguib Mahfouz s Zaabalawi, has over the course of history
had an incredible impact on Arab culture. In Mahfouz s time, Islamic practices combined with
their political relevance proved a source of both great power and woe in Middle Eastern countries.
As alluded to in Zaabalawi, Mahfouz asserts the fact that not all Muslims attain religious fulfillment
through this common tradition, and other methods outside the scope of Islam may be necessary in
true spiritual understanding.
My project emphasizes this spiritual tension by presenting a wineglass inscribed with Qur anic
verses. By examining the purpose and structure of this wineglass, the truth of Mahfouz s ... Show

In accordance with these symbols of essence, the Qur anic script around the wineglass also proves
applicable to Zaabalawi. It reads, phonetically: Iqra/ warabbuka al akramu, Allathee AAallama
bialqalami. Or in English: Recite in the name of the Lord, who has taught by the pen. This is a
passage from the 96th Surah, Al A laq in the Qur an. Such references to writings and penmanship
highlight the importance of calligraphic beauty in such a society.
Muslims believe that it is important to read the Qur an in Arabic. Their religion teaches that God
intentionally presented the holy book to Arabs because their language holds a secret beauty and
truth not found in others. Thus, if one is to complete the task of reading the Qur an, it must be
done in Arabic or with a corresponding Arabic text. For this reason, I wrote in Arabic script around
the glass because its translation would be incomplete otherwise.
Furthermore, the first command of Allah is Recite! This is reflected in the Muslim appreciation
for both the oral recitation and visual replication of the Qur an. Calligraphy, as a creative
expression of the Qur an, has become a predominant art form in many Muslim countries. The
calligrapher in Zaabalawi, in fact, has had much contact with true spirituality in his mastery of the
Arabic script. Therefore, my act of inscribing Islamic verses would, in their culture, be considered
a type of prayer and homage

Allusions In The Grapes Of Wrath

his family, who are forced to abandon their farm during the depression era Oklahoma dust bowl.
They decide to travel to California along with many other in search for jobs and homes, and look

In the novel, Rose of Sharon is vigilant of her unborn child and symbolizes regrowth and hope

Her fingers moved gently in his hair. She looked up and across the barn, her lips came together

that the Rose of Sharon is pleased with helping others regardless of her dead child and suffering

Computer Disadvantages
When you decide that it is time to upgrade to a good computer, you have to make a big decision.
There are 2 things that it comes down to and those are that you buy a computer brand new, or if
you decide to build your own unique PC. Here are some things to look out for before you make
your final decision. We will start with some of the risks with building a computer. Obviously you
have to riskyour time. I advise that you spend quite a while to investigate which parts of the
computer will be budget friendly and efficient. You will also have to wait for the parts that you
ordered to ship in. Although it only takes about 45min 1hr to build the computer. It can be a
lengthy wait as opposed to just purchasing a PC. If you are a person who doesn t have much time
to invest into a project like this, then I think buying a computer would be a smart route for you.
However, if time isn t an issue, then building your own PC can be a fun, price beneficial project
for you. Another risk that comes with building your own PC is that, you do not have always
have a warranty if a computer part fails. Most products that you buy in which are pre assembled
tend to have warranties that take away the risk of improper use or if something stops working.
Also, while you are building the PC, it isn t impossible to mess up and break something small.
This is again where buying a PC has an advantage that is because professionals are handling the
product before you get it. If you were to break something in

Analysis Of The Sun Also Rises By Jake Barnes
The San Fermin Festival is a central point to The Sun Also Rises because it is where the climax is
reached in determining the maturation of Jake Barnes. The San Fermin Festival takes part every
year in Pamplona, Spain and consists of parties and bullfighting for a week. T. Peter Hays article,
Hunting Ritual in The Sun Also Rises, shows Hays belief The Sun Also Rises, and the San Fermin
Festival in the book, shows religious virtues instilled in the character of Jake Barnes. Although
the San Fermin Festival was originally a religious event, it has now become paganized like
many other festivals or holidays. The effect the war has had on Jake Barnes and other characters
caused them to reject religion; therefore, the purpose of The Sun Also Rises is not meant to
parallel the Catholic Church or exhibit religious virtues. World War I was the first time the
world witnessed the abhorrent crimes man is capable of. Jake Barnes witnessed these events
while he was in the war. Not much is said about specific atrocities Jake witnessed, but this silence
was not uncommon amongst veterans. It is Count Mippipopolous who sheds light upon war
experience. My dear, I am sure Mr. Barnes has seen a lot. Don t think I don t think so, sir. I have
seen a lot, too (Hemingway, 1926, p. 60). When the Count says this, it shows that Jake also must
have witnessed much in the war. Jake is very closed off while talking about his war experience
because of the inhumane things man committed in the war. The war caused many to reject
religious philosophies because people could not believe a just God would allow man to behave
so cruelly to one another. Jake could not cope with what the war did to men, especially himself.
Jake s wound left him impotent and took away his ability to have an intimate relationship with a
woman. Jake claims to be a Catholic, but after all that has happened to him, and all that he has
seen, he cannot believe with Catholicism like those around him. While Bill and Jake were on the
train to Burgeune they are accompanied by a Catholic family. This is where we learn Jake is a

Emotional Abuse Literature Review
Introduction
The issue of child emotional abuse is often a difficult topic to discuss as well as treat. Emotional
abuse can be very difficult to recognize since it is generally a relationship between a child and a
caretaker and not a specific incident or series of events that can be pointed to as abuse. In fact,
emotional and psychological maltreatment have no definition that is universally agreed upon,
therefore, the two terms are often used interchangeably. Emotional abuse is the most common form
of child abuse. While emotional abuse can be present absent any other type of abuse, such as
physical or sexual abuse, there is almost certainly emotional abuse present with all other forms of
abuse. Emotional abuse may not leave physical scars but it does appear to leave long lasting
psychological scars. While there is evidence of psychological damage due to emotional abuse, it is
not clear exactly how deep and lasting the damage may be. There is a great need to research the
effects, treatment, and interventions for emotional abuse.

Emotional abuse can cause serious burdens on society. Emotional abuse has a significant cost in

This can be a very difficult task for pediatricians. Learning to interview children when they are

Children who have been emotionally abused have higher rates of psychological disorders such as

an accident occurs, and company s production and sales are at stake, many overlook operational
best practices in business ethics. Today, companies are greatly impacted by society s evolvultion
toward a good place for everyone which is diverse in culture, religion, and socioeconomic
background. This trajectory drives social changes, activists, and theorists who believe attaining
the good is worth pursuing and has no boundaries. As Aristotle noted, the end goals of political
and individual well being are justice and happiness (Collins, 2015). In examining the Trouble in
the Truss Construction Shop case study, a utilitarian approach was used to ethically formulate
possible remedies to the Truss Construction Shop issue with employee safety. Explanation of the
Issue or Problem One week ago, John Craftsman, a company employee severely injured his hand
while pushing a piece of wood through a table saw during his shift at the Truss Construction Shop.
Mr. Craftsman s accident is the third accident to occur in the current quarter that has workers in the
shop upset and claiming unsafe working conditions. The workers have reported to OSHA and the
local newspaper that the company has failed to accept responsibility for employee safety. The
quarrel over who is responsible for the accident that has caused unwanted publicity and could
potentially jeopardize business sales. Varying

What Is Web Proxies
This is my effort to share my experiment and notes about web proxies with you.
Simply defined, proxies/servers are the application (or dedicated server) that enables the indirect
connection between a client and a resource on a remote location. Initially, proxies were invented to
provide many functions such as server load balancer, fast delivery of contains to support a
distributed system but later more functionality such as encryption, traffic filtering, redirection, URL
rewrite and deep packet inspection was added.
Type of proxies
Although there are many type of proxies such as Web proxy, FTP, SOCKs and more, in this
document is focused on Web proxy.

different browser (without explicit proxy), will be forward to machines default gateway.
How to configure explicit proxy? o Direct configuration:
One can manually set a browser s network setting for proxy by providing the Destination
IP(DIP) and Destination Port(DPort) and supported protocols.
In this case all traffic is forwarded to the proxy; however, there is another way in where traffic
is forward to proxy based on requested URL. o Proxy Auto Configuration (PAC file) and its
location in network in form of URL:
A PAC file is a text file of functions and the URLs to reroute the traffic based on URLs. For
example, in an enterprise setting, a PAC file can define the rules such as if the URL (or end point)
is an external address then next hop is another proxy and if end point is internal address then send it
directly to the destination.
A PAC file resides on a server, and a browser will access the PAC file using a given URL.
The PAC file should be on the root of the severing server
For configuration, select browser network settings auto configuration use auto configuration script
and give location Error! Hyperlink reference not valid. address of server:port/proxy.pac

Wal-Mart, the Big Bad Wolf of the Economy
Wal Mart is one of the largest corporations in America today. It serves to millions of consumers a
day and is known for its motto lower prices everyday. For the last few years however, there has
been the controversy of whether Wal Mart is truly good for the American economy or not. On
one hand people believe Wal Mart is good for the economy because it saves the average
consumer money due to the low priced products. Along with being an easy one stop shop where
everything a person could possibly need is found there. Aside from the low prices and
convenience, Wal Mart is bad for the American economy. In early December of 2005 a poll was
commissioned by Wakeup Wal Mart, a union funded group that has been pressuring Wal Mart to
raise employee... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Health Insurance has been another controversy in the debates of Wal Mart. Wal Mart employees,
especially full time employees should get health care. The opposition to this is that aside from
Starbucks no large employer gives health insurance to part time employees due to high costs of
health care (Is Walmart Bad For The Economy). However compared with other large companies
Wal Mart covers only 43% of employees with health insurance as oppose to the average 66% that
other large companies cover. If Wal Mart were to reach the average coverage rate, they would be
covering an additional 320,000 employees. Wal Mart employees are paid poorly if at all for their
work and are rarely covered with health insurance. The Wal Mart corporation states that 90% of
it s workers have health insurance. In actuality, the 90% who are covered, around 50% of those
are insured because of their spouses employer, who, by the way, may be a union employer. Wal
Mart is an anti union corporation. The first ever unionized Wal Mart was in Quebec, Canada. It
was quickly shut down once is became unionized however, and this is not the only case like this.
Many attempts have been made to change Wal Mart into a union employer, but all attempts have
failed. Wal Mart is often portrayed as the big bad wolf of companies. It s accused of harming
smaller mom and pop businesses. But it is in fact worse then that.

Analysis Of Samuel Huntington s Article, A Genetic Fallacy
Samuel Huntington s entire article is more broadly written as a genetic fallacy, by using general
assumptions about the Mexican problem. Additionally he more specifically uses Ad Hominem
fallacies to personally attack all Mexican immigrants character by using statements to infer that they
are exceedingly fertile or have less interest in education. He narrow mindedly accuses them of being
uneducated, resource using threats to our economy with out providing any real facts to back up his
premises. Huntington fails to recognize our country was built by the hard work of immigrants, the
damage and repercussions segregation has on their quality of education, and finally he falsely
proclaims them to potentially become a threat to our nations safety.
Huntington declares, America is moving in the direction of becoming a bilingual and bicultural
society. (Huntington, 2000) However, our county was built off of immigration. We have always
been a multi cultural country from the beginning. It is ignorant of him to say that Mexicans are
exclusively the reason for that. The foundation of our country was established by the persistent
work of immigrants, so to associate them migrating to our country as destructive is nonsensical. To
single out Mexicans as the only ethnic group that is a serious problem could be considered racially
bias.
Most Mexicans in our country simply don t have the same opportunities to receive the quality of
education that Anglos do. Huntington states, In

Kingyo By Edmund Yeo
Kingyo (which means goldfish in Japanese) is a short film by the Malaysian filmmaker Edmund
Yeo. It is based on Yasunari Kawabata s 1924 short story Canaries . He s previous efforts, which
include short films like Chicken rice mystery , Fleeting images and Love suicides showcased his
talent effectively. While in Kingyo , his first Japanese language short film, it s clearly visible that he
has only taken his talent in the forward direction. The film, which wonderfully depicts love, loss
and memorie,s has the ability to have a longing effect on the audiences even after it s finished.
The young female protagonist of this film, played by Luchino Fujisaki, is dressed up in a French
maid s costume offering the pedestrian a guided tour of the city of Akihabara for 10,000 ВҐ.She

Throughout the movie, we see frequent montages of the city and get accustomed with its vibrant
nature. Yeo crafted the story with utmost care, deliberately setting it to a slow, rhythmic pace to
match the intensity and mental state of the characters. The characters do not converse much,
instead they choose the path of contemplation and confession, trying to revisit their past.
His wonderfully written dialogues help to create a calming influence on the film, which reveals the
depressing nature of the characters. For example, when the woman asks the man if he still enjoys
his work he says:
Sometimes you get used to things. After fifteen years it s not a matter of whether you like it or not.
You just forget about the tiny details.
The term tiny details is closely related with the flow of the movie as we see the band members,
who the director shows for a brief moment towards the start of the film, appearing again at the end
of the movie, which indicates the director s desire to come full circle. The same applies to the time
when a certain anime picture of a maid merges with the female

One of the changes in Satsuki s life that causes a lot of stress is that her mother is in the hospital

preoccupied. She tries multitudes of things to ignore her feelings and they all seem to work

Thirty years ago, when I was in school. There was no concern about scores, diversity, etc. You just went to your local elementary, middle and high school . Today parents are much more informed and curious about where their child is going to go. To some parents, it is quite important to have their children attend a culturally diverse school. Now that the basics are covered of where Musical Theatre came from, this paper is more about how Broadway Musicals evolved into what they are in present day, how people have reacted to such performances, and how musical theatre has impacted not only America, but also the world. The first era of Musical Theatre actually started in the 1920 s 1930 s during the Great Depression. This begins with genetic transformation where genes transfer from an organism to another with the help of plasmid. Plasmid contains one or more piece of DNA within bacteria. This technique is used commonly in technology specifically designed for biology usage to enhance the culture around with positive results. It is also used to solve common world problems, such as human insulin and drought resistant crops. In this experiment, the attention was focused on the bacteria, Escherichia coli, also known as E. coli, that is commonly found in intestinal stools. This experiment was conducted in order to test the hypothesis that the GFP will glow underneath the UV light if +pGLO +Ara (Arabinose sugar) were present. It is an overall interesting investigation because bacterial transformation has benefits in agriculture, bioremediation, and even in medicine today that can help with gene therapy. Materials Methods: The materials required for this experiment were 2 micro test tubes, a foam rack, sterile pipette(s), 250mL transformation solution(гЂ–CaClгЂ—_2), an ice bucket, and 5 plates (1 LB, 2 LB /Ampicillin, 1 LB/Arabinose, and 1 LB/Ampicillin/Arabinose). In my time I have been called many things: sister, lover, priestess, wise woman, queen. But who exactly is Morgan and how does she vary in the different accounts of the Arthurian legend? Mordred, who is often her son by an incestuous relationship with Arthur, is instead the son of Anna and her husband, Loth, the King of Lothian. Anna is as close as Monmouth gets to a Morgan like character. She is the sister of Arthur, and daughter of Igraine and Uther. She gives birth to Mordred, who is the means by which Arthur s death comes about, and Gawain, one of Arthurs most loyal and trusted knights. The Relationship between Sensitivity to Reward and Punishment and Eating Behaviours Courtney Andrews Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University Abstract A study involving 252 participants undergoing the course Biological Psychology was carried out in order to examine the correlation between sensitivity to reward (SP), Body Mass Index (BMI), weight and more frequent consumption of unhealthy fast foods, (e.g., high in fat and sugar). The core results showed the participants found that sensitivity to reward was strongly negatively correlated with BMI and weight. However, both these correlations are not statistically significant at the 95% confidence level. Alongside this finding, sensitivity to reward was positively correlated with unhealthy fast foods, which leads to more frequent consumption of fatty and sugar rich foods. These values were also not statistically significant. This research needs to consider gender balance inequality, environmental cues such the accessibility of fast food (e.g., the amount and distance these restaurants are from their home residence) and one time collection of data used. Nightcrawler A Sociopath Analysis It was a pleasant surprise seeing that NightCrawler was one of the film choices for this psychopathy paper, I saw it in theaters when it was originally released and it has been one of my all time favorites ever since. Even after rewatching it countless times since, the movie still never fails to keep my attention. One thing is for sure, Jake Gyllenhaal s character, Louis Bloom, is a bona fide psychopath. I will go into greater detail about the reasoning for this later, after discussing what exactly being a psychopath entails and the different traits that are used to characterize them. Believe it or not, many people in today s society cannot really distinguish between the two terms, psychopath and sociopath. Back in the early 1800s, the doctors that were working with mental patients began to realize that some of their patients who appeared outwardly normal had what they termed a moral depravity or moral insanity . These patients seemed to have no sense of the rights of other people, or even of ethics in general. The interaction of CD8+ T cells with peptide MHC complexes (pMHCs) is a key event in the development of cell mediated immunity (Grakoui, 1999). MHC class I (MHC I) molecules typically present 8 11 aa peptides derived predominantly from proteasomal degradation of intracellular proteins, either self peptides or infection derived antigens (Blum, Wearsch, Cresswell, 2013). T cellreceptors (TCRs) from CD8+ T cells bind antigenic pMHC molecules, triggering a downstream signaling cascade that leads to T cell activation, differentiation, and ultimately to cytolysis of target cells presenting the same epitope (Hennecke Wiley, 2001). Vaccines and immunotherapies for the treatment of infection and cancer seek to incorporate cytotoxic T cell... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although computational tools have improved over the past decade, they have not been trained to predict immunogenicity. The major limitation when using such prediction algorithms is the presence of a significant number of binders from a given antigen that will never lead to an immune response (Newell et al., 2013). Thus, immunogenic CTL epitopes fulfill additional criteria that go beyond antigen processing and MHC binding. Here, we sought to identify the biochemical criteria that define immunogenicity within the subset of MHC I binding peptides. Using a curated repository of MHC I epitopes from the Immune Epitope Database (IEDB) (Vita et al., 2009), we evaluated the biochemical properties of aas that discriminate between immunogenic epitopes and non immunogenic self peptides. We found a strong bias towards hydrophobicity in aa residues of immunogenic CTL epitopes that is highly selective for exposed TCR contact residues. Using these criteria, we trained an artificial neural network (ANN) model to identify immunogenic CTL epitopes from a data set and empirically assessed our prediction model for 3 human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV 1) Gag protein variants in a murine model of immunogenicity. As a result of my journey through the flawed but wholesome education system, I have developed many skills at such a young age. I have learned to take initiative in my classes, because, a common tradition in Nigerian schools is for teachers to test students on topics not covered and justify those actions by giving students a scheme of work, which is essentially a list of topics to be covered in the school year. Going through this system, I have learned to befriend older students and ask them for their notes, to study, as the Nigerian school curriculum hasn t changed in 50 years, much like the stance on corporal punishment in schools. According to my parents I had it easy as in their time both girls and boys were whipped on their rear but currently girls are hit on their palms, fingertips, and their legs, which is progress. The SOW can devise a plan for this client with possible interventions, plans and pre work, task, and innovative ideas to better her current situation. The SOW is a detailed description of activities that are conducted under a contract (Business Dictionary.com, 2016). She may consider implementation of change in various departments. However, the bottom line for this client seems to be that she wants her employees to work as a team without harsh feelings toward one another. In addition, she would like the employees in her product division to work more harmoniously together. A DP is an opportunity for the different departments and the client to plan for employee development strategies and enhance the business functions. During this process reviewing interventions, plans and pre work, task, and innovative ideas may aid everyone in focusing as a team in the future. Here the idea is to enable those vested to have a more defined picture of potential costs and drawbacks to certain business decisions and to help them modify accordingly before implementing any ideas. He was transitioning from the performances he had honed during four solid years of addressing countless audiences and was developing, with greater energy than ever before, his profile as an accomplished author, critic, and editor. His discovery of Chatterton stands at the center of these changes. Paying close attention to Chatterton enabled Wilde to understand that the astonishing inventiveness of the Rowley forgeries evinced the imaginative impulse that inspired the finest forms of imaginative literature. Exploiting the links between imagination, authenticity, and truth, Chatterton s artistic originality arose in fabrications that conjured a literary past that historically never existed. Such fakes, Wilde knew from his reading about Chatterton, might strike some interpreters as the result of ungovernable, if not immoral, impulses. In the critical essays and shorter fiction that Wilde wrote from the mid 1880s onward, he radically inverted such interpretations. Throughout these essays, shorter fiction, and dramas, generous artistic license, lying, and even criminal intent become as we explain in later chapters the foundation for great art. There are so many children in the foster care system that need loving and stable homes so why not let gaycouples give that to them? There is a lot of evidence to show that gay couples can be just as good at parenting as a straight couple. Dividend Announcements and Share Prices Dividend announcements and their impact on share prices can be explained by the semi strong form of the efficient market hypothesis (EMH). Efficient market hypothesis implies that the only thing that may impact the stock prices is new information, since all other possibly influencing parameters are already included in the firm s stock price (Palan, 2004).The efficient market hypothesis may be divided into three forms: the weak form, the semi strong form, and the strong form. The weak form implies that share prices bear or reflect the past prices and trade volume information, the semi strong form adds publicly available information to the weak form, and the strong form adds even insider information to the efficiency approach (Harder, 2008). Empirical evidences show that successive changes in stock prices are independent and this independence is in line with the efficient market hypothesis, as markets promptly react to the new information (Fama et al., 1969). In this context it may be assumed that dividend announcements convey particular positive information about the company and provide signals about future performance of the firm. The decision about paying dividends is made by the firm s managers and often supported by shareholders voting. Since dividend announcements bear useful information, from the efficient market hypothesis view point this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How has the move to producing standard furniture affected the company s financial structure? The profits have increased for the company with the custom line accounting for 60% of volume and 75% of dollar sales according to this case study. The standard line has seen a continued increase in sales as well. What comes with the increased profit due to the increased manufacturing is the need to put higher amounts of capital into storing the higher inventory. With the company being at capacity, the lead times may not be meeting consumer demands either. The expansion that is needed would initially cost Chad s Creative Concepts greatly. Without some type of expansion (which would most likely require a new plant), soaring inventory costs will need to be attended to. 4. • 26. Historical Context Of Babylon Revisited Knowing the historical context of a work is crucial to understanding both its general meaning and its deeper essence. Often times, authors use their works as outlets to freely express their personal feelings toward a social trend or issue. As such, the time in which a story is written can have a strong influence on the message the author is trying to convey to his or her reader. Their personal reflections can be asserted in many ways; among the most common being through the characters themselves and their development throughout the work, the setting, and the implied themes. An example of a work that is heavily influenced by the time period in which it was written is F. Scott Fitzgerald s short story Babylon Revisited. Set in Paris during the 1920s, this work delineates the story of a man named Charlie Wales who was at the pinnacle of his life when he succumbed to greed, irresponsibility, and addiction. As a result of his carelessness, Wales experiences a tragic downfall. He not only endures the death of his wife Helen, but he also loses his material fortune, his reputation, and most importantly the custody of his daughter Honoria. The time in which this story occurs the 1920s is vital to the plot. Dubbed The Roaring 20s, this period is notorious for glamorizing lifestyles centered around materialism, gluttony, and self absorption. The early 20th century brought about extreme social and political changes that influenced the lifestyles and attitudes of the public. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 28. Jimmy Carter And His Foreign Affairs On the other extreme is Jimmy Carter, president from 1977 to 1981. Ranked last for both his foreign affairs and his overall presidency, Carter left the Oval Office a very unpopular man. Carter s sole accolade came from the Camp David Accords of 1978 9. Carter invited Israeli prime minister Menachem Begin and Egyptian prime minister Anwar Sadat to Camp David, the presidential retreat, to work out an agreement. Carter played a major role in the negotiations, mediating a dispute that resulted in a peace treaty, that is still intact to this day. Not only did this agreement lay down a long held peace between two neighboring countries, but it also solidified U.S. ties in the Middle East. Carter s other policies and actions are very different, such as the Torrijos Carter Treaties. These treaties between Panama and the U.S. granted Panama control over the Canal as of 1999 for almost nothing in response. The conservatives of Americans felt as though Carter had given away the Canal without receiving anything in return, and this made them believe that our nation was becoming weak under his power. The people s Crisis of Confidence clearly and accurately portrays the conservative s opinions during Carter s presidency. In order to make them stick to the slide, I hold it near a heat source so they can attach. Then I flood crystal violet on the smear. In the mixed culture under the microscopes, I was able to notice that the Gram positive cells, Enterococcus durans, were in clusters of short chains. The Gram negative, Proteus mirabilis, were in rod shaped forms that were spread across the slide. The Gram positive characteristics in the Gram stain matched up with those of an Enterococcus durans cell. There were some diplococcic or short chains across the smear. But that may change if they know that they have a much higher risk of having a motor accident than adult drivers. In the United States, driving accidents are a leading cause of death among teenagers. These accidents happen mostly in populated cities. This problem has caused each state to have its own drivinglaws for teens. Although this problem is already a priority in many states, it should get more attention from the general public, especially teens. It is important for people to know about driving laws because these laws can help establish safe driving habits. California laws that attempt to decrease teen caused auto accidentsinclude establishing a minimum age for passengers of teenage drivers. In California, a new driver cannot transport anyone who is under 20 years of age unless a licensed adult is also in the vehicle. Another effective law in California requires teen drivers to have at least 50 hours of supervised driving during the learner s permit stage. This law is effective because it allows teens to learn how to drive safely on the road with the help of an experienced driver. Although some laws are effective, teens are still known to cause accidents. Naguib Mahfouz’s Zaabalawi Essay Naguib Mahfouz s Zaabalawi The Islamic tradition, as reflected in Naguib Mahfouz s Zaabalawi, has over the course of history had an incredible impact on Arab culture. In Mahfouz s time, Islamic practices combined with their political relevance proved a source of both great power and woe in Middle Eastern countries. As alluded to in Zaabalawi, Mahfouz asserts the fact that not all Muslims attain religious fulfillment through this common tradition, and other methods outside the scope of Islam may be necessary in true spiritual understanding. It reads, phonetically: Iqra/ warabbuka al akramu, Allathee AAallama bialqalami. Or in English: Recite in the name of the Lord, who has taught by the pen. This is a passage from the 96th Surah, Al A laq in the Qur an. Such references to writings and penmanship highlight the importance of calligraphic beauty in such a society. Muslims believe that it is important to read the Qur an in Arabic. Their religion teaches that God intentionally presented the holy book to Arabs because their language holds a secret beauty and truth not found in others. Thus, if one is to complete the task of reading the Qur an, it must be done in Arabic or with a corresponding Arabic text. For this reason, I wrote in Arabic script around the glass because its translation would be incomplete otherwise. Furthermore, the first command of Allah is Recite! This is reflected in the Muslim appreciation for both the oral recitation and visual replication of the Qur an. Calligraphy, as a creative expression of the Qur an, has become a predominant art form in many Muslim countries. In actuality, the 90% who are covered, around 50% of those are insured because of their spouses employer, who, by the way, may be a union employer. Wal Mart is an anti union corporation. Analysis Of Samuel Huntington s Article, A Genetic Fallacy Samuel Huntington s entire article is more broadly written as a genetic fallacy, by using general assumptions about the Mexican problem. Additionally he more specifically uses Ad Hominem fallacies to personally attack all Mexican immigrants character by using statements to infer that they are exceedingly fertile or have less interest in education. He narrow mindedly accuses them of being uneducated, resource using threats to our economy with out providing any real facts to back up his premises. Huntington declares, America is moving in the direction of becoming a bilingual and bicultural society. (Huntington, 2000) However, our county was built off of immigration. We have always been a multi cultural country from the beginning. It is ignorant of him to say that Mexicans are exclusively the reason for that. The foundation of our country was established by the persistent work of immigrants, so to associate them migrating to our country as destructive is nonsensical. To single out Mexicans as the only ethnic group that is a serious problem could be considered racially bias. Most Mexicans in our country simply don t have the same opportunities to receive the quality of education that Anglos do. Huntington states, In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Yeo crafted the story with utmost care, deliberately setting it to a slow, rhythmic pace to match the intensity and mental state of the characters. The characters do not converse much, instead they choose the path of contemplation and confession, trying to revisit their past. His wonderfully written dialogues help to create a calming influence on the film, which reveals the depressing nature of the characters. For example, when the woman asks the man if he still enjoys his work he says: Sometimes you get used to things. After fifteen years it s not a matter of whether you like it or not. You just forget about the tiny details. The term tiny details is closely related with the flow of the movie as we see the band members, who the director shows for a brief moment towards the start of the film, appearing again at the end of the movie, which indicates the director s desire to come full circle.
