Essay On Islam And Terrorism
Writing an essay on the topic of "Essay on Islam and Terrorism" can be a challenging task due to
the sensitivity and complexity of the subject matter. Addressing the relationship between Islam
and terrorism requires careful research, a nuanced understanding of both Islam and various forms
of terrorism, and the ability to navigate through a potentially contentious discourse.
The difficulty arises from the need to maintain objectivity and avoid perpetuating stereotypes or
misconceptions. It's crucial to present a balanced perspective that acknowledges the diversity
within the Islamic faith and recognizes that acts of terrorism are not representative of the entire
Muslim population. Striking the right tone and ensuring the essay fosters understanding rather
than perpetuates biases can be challenging.
Moreover, delving into the historical, political, and socio-economic factors that contribute to the
association between Islam and terrorism requires thorough investigation. The essay should not
only explore the roots of terrorism but also analyze the efforts within the Muslim community to
counteract radicalization and promote peace.
Crafting a well-researched and thoughtful essay on this topic involves navigating through a sea
of information, filtering out misinformation, and presenting a comprehensive view that
encourages critical thinking. It's essential to be respectful and considerate of diverse perspectives
while shedding light on the complexities surrounding the intersection of Islam and terrorism.
In conclusion, writing an essay on this topic demands careful consideration, research, and a
commitment to promoting understanding. It is crucial to approach the subject with sensitivity,
avoiding stereotypes and generalizations. While challenging, tackling such topics can contribute
to fostering a more informed and inclusive discourse.

Kingship, Aristocracy, And Oligarchy Of Constitutional...
In Politics, Aristotle explicitly says that the best regime is kingship. He reasons,
[that] the term constitution signifies the same thing as civic body [and] that the
civic body in every city is the sovereign; and the sovereign must necessarily be either
One, or Few, or Many. On this basis we may say that when the One, or Few, or Many
rule with a view to the common interest, the constitution under which they do so
much necessarily be the right constitution (1279^a 25, 188). He goes on to say that
according to customary usage the governmenttype that focuses on the common
interest is kingship.
In the context of the passage, he refers to three types as the right types of structures
(kingship, aristocracy, and constitutional government) and includes their perversions
in government form, which are Tyranny, [the perversion of] Kingship; Oligarchy of
Aristocracy, and Democracy of Constitutional Government (1279^a4, 189). Due to
him saying that tyranny is the worst of the worst, and kingship would have to be the
best of the right. It therefore must be good and self sufficient. ... Show more content

Nonetheless the role of the father (king) is necessary because he is wise, good, and
just. He therefore can guide the son to make the right decisions and reach happiness
because he himself lives a good, just, and wise life. The city can then live in that way.
Aristotle himself speaks of how in order for a city to strive, the leaders must strive as
well as they need to have the intentional vision for the common interest accompanied
by virtue, justice, and good. I think that this can be best manifested through the
analogy of a wise and noble father raising his son. This type of government has
historically been seen through the lens of Aristotle when it comes to justifying the

My Time At The End Of The Day
Throughout the last 2 weeks it was interesting to observe where my time has gone
to. Often, we hear others and ourselves say phrases like, Where has the time gone?
Or, Where has my day gone to? With this exercise, I can now comprehend how I
spend the majority of my time and figure out how to solve my not having enough
time to do it all problem. At the end of the day, one does not have time to do
everything, so we have to choose the important items on the list of to dos. But what
do you eliminate and what do you keep?
As I observe my time, I notice that the majority of my time was spent doing
homework. Almost every day was spent doing class, maybe a workout like a bike
ride or run, and homework. It was not until the weekend of the most recent week I
had any time to watch a movie or just sit around a play on my phone. Of course I
did do activities that were purely for my pleasure, such as phone calls, practice,
long dinner time with friends, make new microwave creations with my roomie.
These events, however, are also very important. Social life is what keeps us from
losing our mind. If I did homework at every meal, I would not make new friends
nor connect and catch up with my old ones. As humans, we need relationships to
help keep us accountable in our walk with God, in our academics and to share with.
Jesus had his friends while He walked on earth, just like we need friends. This is the
reason we have D groups and accountability partners. This is why it is important not
Risk And Corporate Financial Strategy Essay
Risk and Corporate Financial Strategy The relevance of sound risk management
cannot be overstated when it comes to the effective implementation of corporate
strategy. This text concerns itself with the impact of risks on corporate financial
strategy. Some of the risks that will be highlighted in this case include but they are
not limited to reinvestment risk, default risk, political risk, interest rate risk, etc.
From the onset, it is important to note that risk is part and parcel of every business
entity s corporate strategy. For this reason, in seeking to develop the corporate
financial strategy of their firms, managers must interrogate the inherent risks. One of
the risks that could have an impact on the corporate financial strategy of an entity is
business risk which Bender and Ward (2012) define as the inherent risk associated
with the underlying nature of the particular business and the specific competitive
strategy that is being implemented (p.51). Business risks could arise from events that
take place inside or outside the organization. An entity with a significantly high
business risk according to Bender and Ward (2012) must not adopt a financial
strategy that involves high financial risk (p.51). Yet another risk which could have an
impact on an entity s corporate financial strategy is credit risk. For most businesses,
this particular risk arises in those instances whereby a client fails to satisfy its
contractual obligations. Mostly, businesses find

Criminal Profiling And The Law Enforcement
Criminal profiling is the investigative profession that is used to help the law
enforcement and the government agencies to pursue unknown perpetrators. It
objectively seeks to identify the major personality and the behavioral
characteristics of the serial offenders based on a thorough analysis of the crimes
committed. It includes the combination of the analysis of the physical and the
behavioral evidence. This study aims at analyzing criminal profiling on the basis of
its basic elements and its use in law enforcement. The documented history of
criminal profiling is traced back to the publication of the Malleus Maleficarum, a
text from the 1400s; it was written by contractors of the early Roman Catholic
Church for the purpose of identifying and eradicating witches (Geberth 23). Despite
the fact that it was based on the author s speculation and the religious dogma during
that time, it was one of the first systematic methods that was used in the
identification and creation of inferences concerning the guilty individuals. The
modern criminal profiling was officially inaugurated by the FBI behavioral science
unit after several cases of mass homicides were observed in the U.S in the 1960s.
The apparent increase in the homicides during this time created a demand on the
investigators from the public to solve these crimes using expeditious ways (Geberth
43). This increased the pressure, the pressure on the investigators to use the possible
resources to track down on the suspects.
Mower Research Paper
So far, summer has been delightful. Everything changed when my brother John left
for college, and my other brother Mark went on a boy scout hiking trip with my
dad. It was just my mom and me home. My brothers were the ones to always mow
the lawn. This is mainly because my dad was always in the garage cleaning or
working on a project. My mom hurt her shoulder while lifting a dresser in my
room, so she was out of the yard work business. Someone needed to take on this
weekly chore. I had no idea how to mow the lawn. The size of my front yard and
backyard is massive, unfortunately, and I didn t know how to tackle this chore. The
sun was brightly shining and the grass was greener than ever, but there was one
problem. The grass was getting long... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I didn t know what I was doing, and I was feeling pressured to do well. After she
taught me how to start the mower, I was ready. There s no turning back now I
thought to myself. I was ready to cut the grass, but I knew I needed five things for
what I was about to do. I needed sunlight, dry grass, a working mower, gas, and the
energy to do this job nicely and efficiently. I had all of those things, so I started the
mower and started to cut the grass. I was glad that I was cutting the grass, because
I put hard work into doing this, and I felt proud. While I was cutting the grass, I
felt hot, with sweat beading off my face. The lawn mower started to feel heavy,
and my legs almost died when I went up the final hill in my backyard. Finally, I
made my last row with the mower and it felt like I had conquered the grass. I saw
the grass fly into the wind, I heard the rumbling sound of the lawn mower cutting
the grass. Lastly, I smelled the freshness of the clean cut grass. I was almost done,
the job was done, with pride and in a well manicured fashion. When I was done, I
was tired and boiling hot. Even though I was burning up, the job needed to be done,
and I couldn t be more proud of myself. This experience I had was not easy, but I
learned that even if something takes a little hard work, it s fun to accomplish

The Role Of Communication And Interpersonal Interaction
On...
Assignment 1:
The Role of Communication and Interpersonal Interaction in Health and Social Care
In a health and social care setting there are two different types of communication and
those are verbal communication and non verbal communication. Verbal
communication is the way you talk to someone and non verbal communication is your
body language towards someone.
Verbal Communication
There are many different types of verbal communication. One is whether you have
clear speech. Having clear speech means that someone will be able to understand
what you are saying without having to ask you again. It depends on whether you
pronounce words correctly with the right sounding at the end of words and what
your voice sounds like so, if you have a sore throat then your speech may be too quiet
and not clear to understand.
Another type of verbal communication is selection of appropriate language. This is
the use of formal language, informal language, avoiding slang or regional word as
appropriate. If you were just talking with your friends or colleagues then you may
use informal language because you are familiar with the people but, if you were
talking to a service user or client then you would use formal language because you
have to be professional within the workplace. You would not use slang with them or
regional words because they may not be able to understand what you are saying and
it is not professional to use this type of language. Another form of verbal
communication is age

Body Viking In The Summoner s Tale
Along with the alternating closeting and coded expression of the homoerotic in
The Summoner s Tale, we find body policing. Robert Mills in his article Gender,
Sodomy, Friendship, and the Medieval Anchorhold states, physical contact between
men and recluses so reprehensible that the prohibition against such behavior
almost goes without saying (8). Although peasant Thomas is not considered a
recluse, any physical contact between men was looked down up during this time
period. Mills then goes onto say, for this reason all cross sex encounters were to be
avoided wherever possible, even if, in the eyes of those who knew better, the two
parties were indeed just friends (8). No matter the relationship between the friar and
peasant Thomas, readers may infer that he was aware that his desires were not only
wrong, but punishable. Thomas engages in body policing by weaponizing his
flatulence as a way to attempt to control Friar Dan John s actions.

Looking back to his description in The General Prologue to the Canterbury Tales, the

readers take on a queer analysis of the poem The Summoner s
The Pleistocene Ice Ages
Throughout the Pleistocene ice ages, large areas of the earth were covered by vast
ice sheets. Global sea levels dropped up to 120 metres below present day
coastlines, exposing large areas of land that were once flooded by shallow seas.
These lands became colonised by vegetation, animals, birds and insects over time.
During the Ice Age, the island continent to the south east of Asia comprised New
Guinea, Australia and Tasmania as a single land mass. Separating this continent
from Asia was a narrow sea about one hundred kilometres wide, over which the first
ocean crossings were made sometime before 60,000 years ago. These ancient
mariners became the founding peoples of Australia. They were faced with a strange
land that was vastly different

Spotting A Liar Rhetorical Analysis
From viewing Pamela Meyers s video about how to spot liars, I have learned
several tips that would help me identify whether a person is lying or not lying. The
two main ideas to spotting a liar is by body language and by speech. These two
points are essential in the way a person expresses themselves, and how they speak
for themselves. According to Pamela Meyers, everyone has lied once before
whether they were aware or unaware of it. I agree that every person has lied once in
their life, but I think it depends on the situation that they were put in, which may have
been the cause that made them commit a lie. This video relates to Business
Communications since people are supposed to use a clear sense of expression when
communicating with other people through a professional business situation.
In my opinion, people are easier to be profiled by their usage of vocals depending
on their pitch, grammar, speed, and clarity. Although body language provides
visual aid, and a faster depiction of identifying a person who may or may not be
lying, it does not help all the time since body language can be adjusted or it could be
mistaken for a different meaning. In example of this, when I lie, the only thing that is
super obvious and a total ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The assembly line principle as it matured in industrial society however, proved to
destroy workers creativity and stifle the very essence of human life. Growth and
change. On an assembly line workers are degraded to automatons, performing the
same tasks over and over and over. Day in day out, without ever having any
knowledge or input into any of the other tasks related to completion of the project.
This monotony in the workplace spills over into the daily life of many factory
workers and affects how they live their life outside of the factory after the whistle
blows as much as it does while they re on the assembly line. This spillover was
observed by Hamper of his Grandfather. Straight home from work, dinner, the evening

7:00 p.m. He arose each weekday at 3:30 a.m., fixed himself some black coffee,
turned on the kitchen radio, smoked a handful of Lucky Strikes and waited to
leave for work at a quarter to five. This regimen never varied one iota in the forty
years he worked for GM (Hamper pg.6). It is fairly clear that the monotony of the
assembly line has a way of setting personal routines for it s workers that eventually
work their way out of the factory and into the home. One interesting question that is
raised, is whether people who like their life to be routinized eventually find their way

industry. Walter Shewart developed his first statistical theory about quality control.
He made his first sketch of a modern control chart, which is later on, developed by
Deming in the 1940 s. It was the first time when this statistical theory began to be

till the beginning of 1950 s.
By the last midcentury, the demand of quality control was highly increasing due to
the raise of mass production. The techniques of the quality control became strongly
important and required during the 1940 s and 1950 s.
At the same time, Japanese people recognized the importance of quality management.
They started to implement quality management practices in their industry by the
1950 s. A decade later, Japan started to export products to USA and Europe which
was cheaper and higher in quality, compared to western products.
Consumers worldwide relied on Japanese products as higher quality and cheaper price

knowledge of justice shown throughout both texts. Firstly, both authors Rose and
Kazan explore the use of their protagonists using justice to overcome the fears to
stand up for themselves. Secondly we are shown justice from both antagonists in
each text as neither of them are set up to not accept the truth to try and achieve
justice. Lastly, Rose and Kazan show through the use of the setting how justice is
used in more depth. Each text ultimately explores a variety of different ways of
showing justice
Throughout Twelve Angry Men and On the Waterfrontboth Protagonists show how
they serve justice to prove their opinions and win over what they believe is right.
Both protagonists show that they want to do what is right and stick with what they
believe, which is testifying against Johnny friendly in On the Waterfront and Juror
8 voting against everyone and voting not guilty in Twelve Angry Men . Juror 8
voting not guilty is a testament to his courage of conscience It s not easy for me to
raise my hand and send a boy off to die without talking about it first along the entire
storyline of the text Juror 8 does not back down and sticks up for his opinion until
every other juror agrees. Similarly, Terry who is the protagonistin On the Waterfront
is given the confidence to stand up against antagonists Johnny Friendly, after being
convinced that testifying and telling the truth is more important than just seeking
physical revenge. After testifying he displays courage by facing the workers and
Friendly at the Waterfront to reveal that he isn t ashamed and that you can come
back. By the end of both texts we are shown how each protagonist fights for their
justice by standing up for their rights and doing what they want done for themselves.
Rose and Kazan display justice through the antagonists of each text creating a sort of
tension and contrast in both characters. Both Friendly,
The Synthesis Of Gold Nanoparticles
Abstract: In this study, we report a convenient, simple, economically viable and eco
friendly method for the synthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) with carboxymethyl
gum kodagogu (CMGK). Carboxymethyl gum kondagogu is a nontoxic and
renewable. It is used as reducing, stabilizing and capping agent for the synthesis of
AuNPs without using any chemical reducing agent. The effect of various parameters
such as concentration of HAuCl4 and CMKG and reaction time for the synthesis
of AuNPs was studying. The green synthesized AuNPs were characterized by
UVв€’vis spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR),
transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X ray diffraction techniques. The
resultant CMGK capped AuNPs are extremely stable and had significant
antibacterial action on both Bacillus subtilis (B.subtilis) and Escherichia coli (E.
coli). The catalytic activity of the CMGK capped AuNPs was studied the reduction
of 4 nitrophenol (4 NP) to 4 Amino phenol (4 AP) in the presence of NaBH4. With
respect to the 4 NP the kinetics of the reaction were found to be a pseudo first order.
Key Words: Gold nanoparticles, carboxymethyl gum kondagogu, Catalytic activity,
Antibacterial activity, Nanomaterials.

Is Colonization Worth The Cost
Colonization was very expansive a long time ago because there was a lot of war
and countries always wins or lose. When you lose you lose a lot of important
things that is need in the country. Yes, I have come to an agreement that
colonization is worth the cost. If you want your population to increase and want to
be more powerful then colonization is worth the cost. Columbus discovered new
places and one of them was Hispana. In Sermon Delivered to church he says a
speech on how we can make this place better and asks questions. If the land is very
beautiful and has resources then I would fight over it. Columbus and his troops have
less resources and sends a letter to me as the king of Spain. I say that the cost is worth

s the awareness of mental diseases such as depression increases throughout
American society, the diagnosis of childhood depression has risen as well. Recent
reports published by the National Alliance on Mental Illness in addition to studies
suggest that 11 to 20 percent of children will experience a depressive disorder by the
time they are 18 years old (Duckworth, 2014; Vitiello).1, 8 In early childhood,
depressive disorders including major depressive disorder (MDD) and dysthymic
disorder, now called persistent depressive disorder per DSM V, are more often
seen in boys than in girls. However, at the start of puberty and by the age of 14,
MDD and DD are more commonly seen in girls (Shashi Bhatia). 2 This apparent
flip in occurrences has not been properly studied, but conjecture has been made
proposing that hormonal imbalances may play a key role in the rise of depressive
disorders in pubescent girls. Mental diseases, such as depression, can cause
significant psychological and psychosocial harm to an adolescent or child (Pine).3 In
addition, depression has been shown have a negative impact on growth, educational
development, relationships, and self image (Brent).4 Not only is there an immediate
impact on this patient population, but it is believed that children who suffer from
depression will be at an increased
Biofertilizer in Rice
Biofertilizers are becoming widely used in many countries and for many different
crops. Based on Paul et al., 2013 stated that biofertilizer contain free living organisms
associated with root surfaces include endophytes and microorganisms that are able to
colonize the intercellular or intracellular spaces between plant tissues without harm to
the host plant. According to Vessey, 2003 defined biofertilizer as products containing
lively or dormant strains of soilmicrobes, either bacteria or in combination with algae
or fungi that increase the availability and nutrients uptake on plant. Rice production
in Malaysia usually used high of input chemical fertilizerwhich can lead soils to be
degraded, polluted and unproductive. According to Mishra and Dash, 2014
increasingly extensive uses of chemical fertilizers in India assist soils to be degraded,
polluted, less productive and environmental hazards. Soil pollution is caused by the
excessive application of chemical fertilizers. In other words, there is much concern to
further preserve environmental through the use of less intensive and more sustainable
agricultural practices by reducing the input of chemical fertilizers. (Gomiero et
al.2011). Mishra and Dash, 2014 stated these issues can be solved by using
biofertilizers to make the ecosystem healthier. Thus, it minimize dependency of
farmer on chemical fertilizers. These biofertilizers are not harmful to crops but
facilitate the unabsorbed nutrient in soil to be
American Judicial System
For the Past 200 years the American Judicial System has been in effect and has
served its country well but not always at its best. Over time we have learned to
interpret the law in new ways that have benefitted the courts positively and
negatively. From the origination of the British legal system to the civil law tradition
of Germany, what more can the American courts learn from their counter parts in
civil law countries? Are there features of the civil law system that we might adopt?
Are there American legal institutions and practices that prefer civil law approaches?

needs to take certain actions such as adopting new civil laws and procedures in
order to seal up all the cracks that the bad guys tend to slip through. Like I said it
will never be perfect but it desperately needs to be improved. As you have read
there are many things with our system that really need to be fixed and one of the
most important things is giving more power and authority back to the judges.
Allowing the judicial system to work in a less free spoken and loosely watched
environment is going to allow for unlawful outcomes and corners to be cut, therefor
if the civil law can be incorporated more often in cases and with the judges than the
system can continue to be efficient and adapt to new cases at hand which will give

Sign up Bonus (also known as a Initial Deposit Bonus or Registration Bonus)
Sign up sportsbook bonuses are by far the most common form of sportsbook bonus.
Pretty much every online bookmaker offers them year round, and given the current
membership levels of many, they seem to work to entice new players. When a new
punter signs up for an online sportsbook operator they will hand out a bonus that
relates to a percentage of their first deposit. The percentage offered usually falls
between 50% and 200% and is of use most when it is fully maximised. This is
because seldom offer bonus provide players with the chance to claim as much.
Reload Bonuses
Reloaded bonuses can be seen as the type of bonus that allows winners to bounce
back and losers to keep losing. Working in a similar fashion to the previously
mentioned sign up sportsbook bonus, they reward players who continuously deposit
after registration. For example, should your bankroll be fast approaching zero,
making another deposit could provide you with a reload bonus that will help further
your game time. The catch with reload bonuses is that your bankroll often needs to
be below a certain threshold for them to come into effect.

increased harm has been discovered. Jacqui Smith, the home secretary at the time of

However, there has not been much movement throughout the class s at all. The
ACMD was put in place to examine the science and produce recommendations on

out of decisions made upon drug harm assessments, as it has been highly common
with party leaders world wide to battle between who can be hardest on drugs to win

having a positive effect is during the HIV crisis that arose from needles being used
to inject heroin at the time, the acme approchased margaret thatcher and
recommended a needle exchange programme. This saw a steady decline in the rates
of HIV speed from users injected drugs and was a good example of harm reduction
policy. To be able to directly measure the harm of a drug is clearly a very

Unemployment is one of the major causes for economic troubles for the poor. In
Elizabeth Warren s America Without a Middle Class, it is said that today one in
five American s is unemployed. Today, America is risking the formation of a new
underclass. An article Soaring Poverty Casts Spotlight on Lost Decade by Sabrina
Tavernise adds to this increasing unemployment rate by saying that young, less
educated, mainly men, can t support their children and form stable families
because they are jobless. Not having a job is one of the main causes as to why the
under class is drowning in debt and why they have no money. Lack of jobs was
also a major problem for many poor people in the French Revolution Era. Family
owned businesses and stands were not producing enough money to keep the
people off the streets. Another main factor causing the poor to stay poor is the
lack of security. Elizabeth Warren in her article America Without a Middle Class
says that going to college and finding a good job no longer guarantees economic
safety. Sabrina Tavernise s Soaring Poverty Casts Spotlight on Lost Decade also
highlights the fact that the median full time worker has made no progress on
average wage. This is particularly shocking because students think going to college
will help them become apart of the elite upper class, however, this is no longer

Information Sharing Between The Intelligence Community
Introduction According to a white paper conducted by the Intelligence Committee of
the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), both law
enforcement and intelligence organizations recognize the need to collaborate, share,
and exchange information. However, the events leading up to 9/11 document how the
legal and artificial boundaries between them created a serious impediment to
protecting the country. First this paper will discuss some of the reasoning and
initiatives behind the development of information sharing between the Intelligence
Community (IC) and law enforcement agencies; and this paper will also discuss the
similarities and difference between Title 50 United States Code (U.S.C.) intelligence
activities to law enforcement information gathering/sharing. Apparently, the
consensus is that, the IC and the law enforcement agencies need to share more
information, that include operational strategies and tactics especially those focused
on transnational issues such as terrorism, drugs, counterintelligence, and weapons of
mass destruction needed to be better integrated. In hopes of improving information
sharing between the IC and law enforcement agencies, Congress passed the
Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 (IRTPA), and also
established a new position of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI). The
position of DNI replaced the Director of the Central Intelligence (DCI) as the senior

Most aspects of colonial life in early America are well talked about: housing, food,
daily routine, religion, etc. One of the more glossed over, yet interesting topics, is
that of colonial drinking and the taverns in which it takes place. Why did colonial
Americans enjoy drinking so much? In Sharon V. Salinger s, Taverns and Drinking
in Early America, she outlines how drinking traditions started and how it affected
daily life and the impact it had on the people of early America. Salinger s overview
of the origins and developed habits of drinking in early America provides insight to

The overview of taverns and drinking and their great impact on daily life is obvious
in the evidence and narration Salinger provides. She uses a journal written by
Thomas Jefferson to explain how deeply entrenched in their daily lives taverns and
drinking were: Thomas Jefferson noted with alarm that cheap distilled spirits were
spreading through the mass of our citizens, yet he is credited with inventing the
presidential cocktail party (3). Despite any negativity surrounding drinking, its
growth in popularity was unstoppable. She also adds the fact that water was
considered an unsafe beverage , which partially explains the reason for alcohol s
rise to popularity and appearance in the daily lives of early Americans. This increase
in drinking also lead to the tavern culture and the need to regulate it, which brings in
the lawmaking side.
The thesis of Salinger s book and research states, Colonial taverns and hotels that
developed from elite taverns manifested an American society that maintained
segregation in public by race, gender, and class (245). Essentially, over the course of
the eighteenth century colonial taverns grew exclusionary, in time serving certain
sections of society rather than the whole community. She writes even at the very
beginning of the text of the separation: In the urban taverns that served a middle
class and elite clientele, men gathered on a regular basis to transact business, argue
over issues of local politics, or share a convivial

The Process of Fred Meyer s Organizational Structure Selection Introduction
According to Bateman and Snell, Two fundamental concepts around which
organizations are structured are differentiation and integration (2011, pg. 227).
Differentiation refers to the different units that work on different kinds of tasks with
the use of different skills and work methods in an organization. These differentiated
units are combinedand coordinated into an overallproduct for the purpose of
achieving the organization s mission as the result of integration. The two
fundamental concepts indicate how the organization ... Show more content on

company s strategy of seeking competitiveness by enabling each department and each

Joseph Mccarthy And The Mccarthy Era
In the United States, the 1950s was a time riddled with heightened political
repression due to the fear of communism. This fear was instilled in the people by the
American government, who saw the growing fondness of communism around the
world as a threat to the American way of life. With Senator Joseph McCarthy as the
head of the communist witch hunt, this period in time is often referred to as the
McCarthy Era. The McCarthy Era is marked by unjust accusations of disloyalty to the
United States without consideration for appropriate evidence. During this time,
thousands of American citizens were accused of communism and communist
sympathy. Of these thousands, a particular case stands out amongst the others. This
was the case of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, the first Americans ever executed for
espionage against the United States. Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were a married
couple who were accused by the United States government of conspiracy against
America by running the operation of a Soviet spy ring that was leaking information
about the atomic bomb back to the Soviet Union. Although Julius and Ethel
Rosenberg were both eventually convicted as spies, there was little hard evidence
ever presented at their trial. However, many co conspirators testified for the trials,
which would eventually lead to their conviction. The Rosenberg s may have been
spies for Soviet Russia, but they were American citizens nonetheless who deserved a
just trial. The Rosenberg s did not have any
Spatial Specificity Analysis
Having differences between the two types of fMRI, Spatial Correlations of
Laminar BOLD and CBV Responses to Rate Whisker Stimulation with Neuronal
Activity Localized by Fos Expression by Lu et al. exemplifies the spatial
limitations of BOLD fMRI and in contrast demonstrates CBV fMRI s superior
spatial specificity. The paper states that the spatial specificity of BOLD fMRI is
limited due to two reasons: the physiological process to the hemodynamic response
and the microcirculation of the brain (Lu et al, 2004). Duvernoy et al. s discovery of
the venous unit is specifically deteriorates BOLD s spatial specificity. The venous
unit is compromised of large cortical penetrating veins to drain the amount of
deoxygenated blood. This propagation of DH makes it difficult to pinpoint the
origin of brain activity which gave reason to Lu et al. to hypothesize that the
venous unit employs inaccurate positive BOLD signals (Duvernoy et al., 1981).
Menon and Goodyear add that BOLD fMRI suffers greatly due to its low contrast
to noise ratio (Menon and Goodyear, 1999). It was also made known, by Lee et al.,

The Role of Responsibility to Protect in Syria
The end of the twentieth century brought with it a close to the era of mass human
atrocities and a new understanding of how conflict worked. With the end of World
War II and the solidification of state lines, no longer was conflict confined to border
disputes. Increasingly so, conflicts occurred internally within the state s own borders
taking a greater toll on civilians and often escalating into violent wars. From
Cambodia to Rwanda and Argentina to Bosnia, the second half of the twentieth
century was riddled with genocide and the motto of never again continued to happen
again. The twenty first century ushered in a new ideology to prevent and stop mass
atrocities. With the realization that the doctrine of humanitarian intervention... Show

The Syrian Muslim Brotherhood lead an insurgency for many years but were put
down in their stronghold city of Hama using heavy weaponry in 1982 leaving in its
wake a massacre of thousands dead and wounded. This deliberate show of force kept
down any further opposition until the beginning of the Arab Spring in 2011.
Launching attacks on Lebanon and Israel throughout its history caused Syria to
become further isolated from the west until1990 when in a rare show, it aligned
with the west and other Arab states in order to stop Saddam Hussein in Iraq. After
three decades of rule, Hafiz al Asad died and was succeeded by his son, Bashar,
who was also elected president through referendum. It seemed as though democratic
rule would finally take hold in Syria. After the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks,
President Bashar al Asad apprehensively cooperated with the United States in order
to combat al Qaeda. This short lived collaboration terminated when President al Asad
opposed the United State s war in Iraq. Further tensions mounted between the two
countries when Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri was assassinated in 2005 and
the U.S. withdrew its ambassador to Syria opening the door for Syrian alignment
with Iran and other militant groups, especially Hezbollah in Lebanon. Syria s
continued subversive involvement in Lebanon and Israel have left it in a very
tumultuous position within the
Rhetorical Analysis Of Car Dealers In The Late 30 s
Throughout the late 20 s and early 30 s, people suffered in some of the worst ways
America has ever faced. John Steinbeck noticed how people, in some ways, were
treated much worse than they should have been when he considered what these
people faced. Many people felt harsh treatment in car dealerships specifically, as they
purchased cars to help them travel across the country towards California. Through the
use of tone and diction, John Steinbeckcharacterizes the carsalesmen as ruthless
towards those who are suffering. Throughout the passage, the tone used to
describe the dealers emphasized just how harsh dealers were to those trying to
purchase cars. Many times, people were spoken to as if they didn t matter
whatsoever. It had been seen that if the women like[d] the car, then the salesman
could screw the old man into buying the car at a higher price than he initially
would have been willing to in the first place. People were treated as if they didn t
matter and if someone chose the more expensive choice, someone else was taken
advantage of, no matter their struggles. There were also instances where people
came with the attitude of others don t want to buy no cars instead they wanted to
take up [their] time. Car salesmen felt as if these people who were fighting to
survive were simply wasting time and they didn t have intentions to purchase a car,
even if that was the real reason they were there. They diminished the real efforts of
people who needed those cars to find work and support themselves just by the way
they said people were wasting their time. Steinbeck continued to describe the
merciless car salesman with their tone towards individuals with the ways salesmen
saw them as bastards on the sidewalk instead of seeing them as struggling just to get
by on a daily basis. The harshness of the salesmen s description completely confirms
the inhumane thoughts they have towards those who dealt with horrific hardships.
Furthermore, Steinbeck took the tone one step further in his representation of just
how harsh these salesmen were to people who just wanted to find a vehicle to take
them to find work. Car dealers didn t want anything for more n twenty five, thirty
bucks, instead they only accepted
Stanford University Research Paper
Stanford University, situated between San Francisco and San Jose in the heart of
California s Silicon Valley, is one of the world s driving educating and research
colleges. Since its opening in 1891, Stanford has been devoted to discovering answers
for enormous difficulties and to planning understudies for authority in a mind
boggling world.
Stanford invites more than 150,000 guests to grounds yearly. Whether you live in the

The Stanfords drew in Frederick Law Olmsted, the extremely popular scene planner
who made New York s Central Park, to outline the physical arrangement for the

quadrangles on an east west pivot. Today, as Stanford keeps on growing, the college

Oppressed Group Stress Theory
Causes
The theory of oppressed group mentality has been cited for the reason behind lateral
violence (Becher, 2012). This theory states that nurses feel powerless and lack
control over the working environment therefore they take it out on someone they
believe to be beneath them. A novice nurse is the best target for this as they typically
have many questions about the practices and events that happen on the floor. It is
easy for a seasoned nurse to feel superior to that novice nurse. Oppressed group
mentality also states that the person dislikes themselves or their colleagues (Becher,
2012). This in turn makes a nurse want to feel better about themselves by putting
others down.
The hierarchy system is another the most common cause of nurse bullying and
interpersonal communication problems (Granstra, 2015). Typically, a problem
nurse has a higher position of power, whether it be charge nurse or supervisor. A
nurse with seniority is more likely to bully a new nurse due to not being given the
power they believe they deserve. This type of nurse is likely to watch a new nurse
fail instead of helping the nurse become better practiced and educated.
Effects
Nurses are known for eating their young. More than 50% of nurse s report being
involved in LV and up to 80% state they have LV in the workforce (Granstra, 2015).
LV in the workforce is going to influence the nurse taking the brunt of the criticism.
Depression, anxiety, sleep disorders are all common effects of poor
Amazon s Marketing Strategy
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the marketing process of online retailer
Amazon.com, Inc. Amazon.com provides a number of retail services as well as
web and storage services. The corporate strategy framework, as discussed in
Cravens amp; Piercy s Strategic Marketing text, will be used to examine the
background of the company and define its current position. The corporate framework
includes the following: (1) corporate vision (2) corporate objectives toward vision (3)

Kargar reports, the company had a weak balance sheet [and] massive negative
operating cash flow (Kargar, 2004). Throughout the company s financial history there
have been many monetary losses. According to Robert D. Hoff and Heather Green, in
2002, the company still carried $2.2 billion in long term debt (Business Week, 2002).
In International Journal of Cases in Electronic Commerce, Pauline Ratnasingham
reports that Amazon.com shareholders lost 80% of their value in 2000
(Ratnasingham, 2006). Though sales increase rapidly, losses continue to soar as well.
Despite the financial failures, in 2006 Bezos still believed that his investments would
yield big payoffs in later years and that Amazon.com would be a meaningful
business...one day (Hoff, 2006).
As Amazon.com continued to expand, the company s strategic business units (SBU)
consisted of four key divisions: (1) U.S. Books/Music/DVD/Video (2) U.S.
Electronics, Tools, and Kitchen (3) Services and (4) International (Ratnasingham,
2006). This business composition makes it easier to focus on separate specific
strategies for each unit. The company s business model also provides a competitive
advantage. Amazon benefits from being able to maintain a virtual store front with
distribution centers located in low rent areas. In all, a combination of convenience,

Equality of Women in the Work Sector
Historically, in many countries, women have been considered to belong to the lower
and weaker section of society. In the Indian culture as well, there is ongoing
discrimination against women and it is inclining day by day. The female section has
to face a lot and different types of discrimination at home, in schools, in colleges,
while using public transport, and even at the workplace. In this article, my intention
is to elaborate upon genderdiscriminationagainst women at the workplace.
There are a very few percentage of the women section who work in the urban areas
like offices, warehouses, boutiques, call centers.Inspite helping the women sections the
colleagues , managers and other employees trouble them at the peak. When a woman
applies for a job and for god for bit she is pretty then she is told either in a direct
manner or an indirect manner to keep a physical relationship with the head of the
office or the manger of the office. They are literally tortured from starting till the
end. In the interview stage also they are asked very personal questions which they
do not like to answer but they are made to answer or they are blackmailed that the
company or the office will not give them a job if the questions are not answered in a
correct way. Sometimes in an interview mobile phones and the laptops of the women
are checked so that they can take out the personal information of the female. Mostly
the women are hired because of their physical attributes and by their
Analysis Of Allen Ginsberg s Howl
Hold back the edges of your gowns, Ladies, we are going through hell, (Sullivan 1)
as William Carlos Williams put it, in introducing the first edition of Allen Ginsberg
s Howl. Most famously known for Howl, Ginsberg was recognized for his obscene
and exaggerated writing style. With Edgar Allen Poe being a form of influence and
admiration in Ginsberg s eyes, it s understandable to see where he gets his inspiration.
Allen Ginsbergs work of literature is important because it challenges mainstream
societal values and gives a voice to those who struggle with repression by a
patriarchal agenda. Howl, Allen Ginsberg s best known poem was his most popular
and most controversial work of literature. This poem is separated into three
different parts. The title Howl is in reference to protest and cry for all exploitation
and repression. The poet asks the reader to cry against capitalism (Howl 7 8).
Ginsberg was a headstrong social and political activist during his time. He related to
the free spirited hippie generation and the make love, not war movement. He also
revolted against mainstream American culture as a way to challenge other civilian s
mindsets. Calling Howl a story isn t accurate, its more Ginsberg describing his
environment and his subjects on paper. The first line begins with, I saw the best
minds of my generation destroyed by madness.... (Ginsberg Howl 1). The minds that
he is writing about are that of his fellow friends, acquaintances and literary
Power and Influence
Interview: Marin Alsop, music director of the Bournemouth Symphony, discusses the
power in music and the power in the position of conductor October 7, 2003
BOB EDWARDS, host: Voters in California today decide who will be governor of
the most populous state in the nation. There may be a shift in power from a
Democrat to a Republican; maybe not. This month, NPR special correspondent
Susan Stamberg explores the idea of power what it is, how it s used and what
happens when it s gone. Today, her first conversation taps into power and music.
SUSAN STAMBERG reporting:

STAMBERG: Wouldn t you race to play for a guy like that...
Ms. ALSOP: No, I mean...
STAMBERG: ...to do your best?
Ms. ALSOP: You know, it s fascinating to talk about power, because the concept of
power changes, and I think just 50 years ago, for a conductor this was most
definitely the perception of a powerful conductor. It was a dictatorial position, almost
completely tyrannical, and this has dramatically changed as musicians have gained
more say in what is going on in the orchestra, as the business has changed. You know,
there are so many elements. But these days, I think power is much more similar to
the corporate structure, which, you know, you really have to be a team player; and
not to say that you re just one of the gang, because you can t ever be one of the gang.
You always have to be somewhat separated.
STAMBERG: Marin Alsop, your mentor was the great Leonard Bernstein. You went
to one of his Young People s Concerts when you were 10 years old and then you had
the chance to work with him at Tanglewood. What did you learn from him about
establishing power, authority, as a conductor?
Ms. ALSOP: Well, listen, you know, that was the most fascinating relationship to
watch, Bernstein with any orchestra. It didn t matter if
Yorgos Lanthimos Lobster
Directors have an extremely important role when creating a film that is pleasing to
a large audience and one that gets a message across in the best most clear way. The
job of the director is to guide the films creative and dramatic direction. Whichever
the director plays out his artistic vision can make or break a movie. Yorgos
Lanthimos, a Greek director, is an awarding winning director. The filmthe lobster,
directed by Yorgos Lanthimos as his first English language film, has a poorly
constructed plot line with many holes, unexplained events and very sporadic story
lines.
1 Shots Fired
In the beginning of the film, there is a scene shown where a random lady is driving
down a road when she gets out of her car and the shoots and animal down dead.

that this movie is about why being single is bad or vice versa according to the
loners but it makes the movie extremely hard to watch and pay attention to. It
requires the audience to twice as much effort into watching the movie than they
would have to any other movie. In most movies, a lot of the connection obtained
from the characters to the audience is through emotions. Emotions tend to be the
most relatable part because of how unlikely it is for someone to be in the exactly,
precise situation a character is going through in the movie. However, people can
relate to the emotion that the characters feel whether that be; joy, betrayal, loneliness,
anger, or greed. The lack of the emotion used in the film subtracted a lot from what
could have been a strong resonating connection and love for the characters portrayed

Dramatic Themes In William Shakespeare s Luke
Act 1 Scene 2 This scene manifests the tension of the play, following the abrupt
collapsing of Luke, Colin s younger brother. The complication of a piece of writing
can bring most people to the edge of their seats, desperately forcing them to carry on
reading. Colin s family is unaware of Luke diagnosed with cancer, making the reader
curious to be informed as to how the family would react to this incident. Carrying on
at the hospital, their behaviour differs to the situation. Mum is entirely distraught
/shaking of nervousness, Dad is trying to calm Mum, yet anxious and Colin is
simultaneously fidgeting/suggesting options as to how the collapsing may have
occurred (being in the centre of attention)/agitating Luke notwithstanding his
incident. This dramatic situation prepares Colin on his mission to obtain the Queen
to attain the best doctor in the world . More of this will be articulated in the
following scene. It is unimpeachable that the family seems to be a tight knit with
deep connection between the two siblings. A(n) item/prop used in this scene is the
Swiss Army knife, which Colin tried to use as a surgical scalpel to draw blood.
Performance wise, Mum and Dad couldn t comprehend the doctor s explanation of
Luke s condition, demonstrating shocked facial expressions. They were stammering
when asking questions, which expresses their emotions. Themes of the scene varied,
including family life, sickness and expressing love. Act 2 Scene 3 This scene is

How Does A Rose For Emily Affect Society
Emily lived under her neighbors microscope. Living in such a small town as she
did, it affected how society viewed her, how they reacted toward her activities, and
differed from others because of her social class. However, although Emily was
knowledgeable about her onlookers, she lacked concern for her illegal and immoral
actions because her wealth and status always paid the price for them.
In A Rose for Emily, it is well known that Emily possessed a high name because of
her family. The neighbors were always waiting for Emily s appearance to see what
was next for her to do. Although they spoke down about her amongst each other, it
never affected her character or the pedestal she was placed on. This was because
they had become so accustomed to praising her family, there was nothing she could
do that would take away her overall greatness. ... Show more content on

They didn t think she was crazy when she kept her dead father propped up at the
dinner table for three days until he was forcedly removed. They accepted it saying
that she had to do it because he was all she had left. Additionally, when the horrible
scent came from her house, the allegations were directed straight to Toby, whom must
ve been killing an animal. It was suddenly nobody s business that she was given a
dangerous poison, and now time after, there is a stench of something decaying from
her house. Rather than discovering the truth behind it, they covered up the scent
instead. Thus, Emily took advantage of her privilege knowing that the society that
spoiled her would never investigate her thoroughly, taking pity for the recent death of

English Language Reflection
BAKA! Screamed the blonde Tsundere girl as she punched the poor boy
protagonist who had accidentally chosen to take a shower at the wrong time. As I
watched this comedy duo on my companion s phone, I felt strangely compelled to
keep on watching and couldn t help but feel an urge to ask what in the world I was
watching. Then that question was answered with Nisekoi and after hearing those
words from my companion I started questioning their ability to speak English or
any language in a matter of fact. I started telling them they go see a speech therapist
for their problems That with the right help even a microcephalic addlepate as
yourself can find a cure. Pretty sure they never realized I was implying that they
were an imbecile, it s sad really. Regardless of this they informed me that what I was
watching was not any normal animations nor was it from this country actually. They
told me that I was watching and I quote ANIMU until they correct themselves and
said Anime. I never had a real Anime though I had a idea because of how people
associated this word with shows like DBZ or that one show with the monster
cards. I put my Pikachu in defence mode I put a poke card facing down and I end
my turn. This was proof that I had no real background knowledge behind this
concept but putting jokes aside I really didn t know anything about the entire world
of anime. After the episode finished, I was left with many questions left after learning
about this side anime so I kept
Art Reflection
For my art reflection, I visited the Detroit Institute of Arts on November 9, 2017. I
wanted to learn more about the pieces that were related to religion. I knew I would
be intrigued because when we think of the bible or hear storied about God, we
often create pictures in our head. Attending the DIA would expand my views of
how I perceive the things that I hear. I decided to do my paper on the Temptation of
St. Anthony (17th century) and The Miraculous Draught of Fishes. While these
works were beautiful, their story was even more amazing. The Temptation of St.
Anthony is an oil painting created in the 17th century by an unknown artist. It
portrays a group of people in a cave. There are many questionable characters in this
piece that could be viewed as possessive or demonic. There are creatures and
animals that have unpleasant features such as wicked eyes and large open mouths
with protruding teeth. All the animals have an evil appearance to them, including the
creature in the back, with wings and claws. Looking closer at the picture, an
individual that is painted has horns and he his holding the hand of an innocent,
beautiful woman. There is also a man, who appears to be holy, wearing a robe and
holding his hands together as if he is praying, with a book in front of him. I am
assuming this is Saint Anthony, reading the bible. The creatures are all looking at the
interaction between the woman and man with horns. They appear to be watching in
excitement and eagerness while
The Cause Of The Plague In Medieval Europe
It is no coincidence that the death of 1163 people can occur in medieval Europe in
just three days. These numbers are large, even for a plague. This raises many
questions considering how small the location was. The plague s cause and its
target on women is a matter of great concern. Could this be just a coincidence, or
could it have been something bigger than just a plague? While no one quite knows
for sure, it did have an immensely negative impact on the people of Europe. 1348
1350 Western Europe is believed to have lost a third of their population to the
plague. 1630 1631 A Venetian plague left 120,000 people dead from a population
of 150,000 . The timelines between these 2 epidemics could have been caused by
more than just mere coincidence. The rise of the Genghis khan took some period
of time and though not 200 years, may have created the opportunity for an army to
conquer the place. October 1630 The Venetian city lost 2100 people of which 1200
died in 3 days . A town cannot lose 50% of its population by mere chance in just a
single day. Unless the plague was contained in the proceeding days, it becomes hard
to understand these deaths.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This looks like an orchestrated attack, well planned and executed. Women are the
building blocks of any society and their death is devastating to say the least.
Looking at the article, it comes out clearly that the number of women were initially
greater than that of men. Killing women would work to minimize armies that a
community would have as they would have fewer children even able to take over
from their folks. By killing pregnant mothers, the plague reduced the number of
children a family would have. This reduced the population of a place significantly
such that it becomes easier to be
Essay on Emily Prager s Our Barbies, Ourselves
Emily Prager s Our Barbies, Ourselves?
In the essay Our Barbies, Ourselves, Emily Prager explores the history of the
Barbie doll and talks about the Barbie doll itself. Prager seems convinced that the
Barbie doll was an object created by a man and that Barbie reeks of sexuality,
sexual innuendo and serves as the anti feminist embodiment of every man s fantasy.
In her own expressive and persuasive modes to fashion an essay designed to
persuade the reader that the Barbie doll is a twisted and corrupt tool designed by men
to combat the feminist revolution. Though her attempts at persuasion are
commendable, I was not swayed in my opinions on Barbie. If anything, I just found
fault with this writer s point of view, and I found her ... Show more content on

It is entirely possible that Barbie is the best of both worlds. Sexy yet smart.
Balancing the extreme worlds of male fantasy and feminine idealism.
Paragraph 7 talks about Prager?s feelings towards Barbie?s boyfriend, Ken. Prager
feels that if Barbie was too sexual, then Ken was the opposite with little or no
sexuality at all. His appearance was plain, a vast difference from the sculpted
curves and slopes of Barbie?s body. Prager suggests that this is because of Ken?s
concealed sexuality and Barbie?s exposed sexuality. His plastic painted on jockey
briefs were a far cry from Barbie?s larger than life bra free breasts. Prager continues
with her conclusion that Barbie must somehow be sexually frustrated, because of
Ken?s lack of sexuality, and no matter how sexy she is, or what she does, she will
never be able to turn Ken on.
It is my opinion that Prager has failed in her attempts to persuade the reader that
Barbie is a tool created from male fantasy or a poster child for modern feminism. If
anything this essay has helped me to realize that Barbie is a combination of both
worlds. She is both sexually appealing to men and someone that women can admire
and even a toy that little girls can play with and hope to be like when they are older.
I still remain adamantly devoted to my Barbie dolls, seeing her as neither temptress
or sexually frustrated object.

Essay On Islam And Terrorism

  • 1. Essay On Islam And Terrorism Writing an essay on the topic of "Essay on Islam and Terrorism" can be a challenging task due to the sensitivity and complexity of the subject matter. Addressing the relationship between Islam and terrorism requires careful research, a nuanced understanding of both Islam and various forms of terrorism, and the ability to navigate through a potentially contentious discourse. The difficulty arises from the need to maintain objectivity and avoid perpetuating stereotypes or misconceptions. It's crucial to present a balanced perspective that acknowledges the diversity within the Islamic faith and recognizes that acts of terrorism are not representative of the entire Muslim population. Striking the right tone and ensuring the essay fosters understanding rather than perpetuates biases can be challenging. Moreover, delving into the historical, political, and socio-economic factors that contribute to the association between Islam and terrorism requires thorough investigation. The essay should not only explore the roots of terrorism but also analyze the efforts within the Muslim community to counteract radicalization and promote peace. Crafting a well-researched and thoughtful essay on this topic involves navigating through a sea of information, filtering out misinformation, and presenting a comprehensive view that encourages critical thinking. It's essential to be respectful and considerate of diverse perspectives while shedding light on the complexities surrounding the intersection of Islam and terrorism. In conclusion, writing an essay on this topic demands careful consideration, research, and a commitment to promoting understanding. It is crucial to approach the subject with sensitivity, avoiding stereotypes and generalizations. While challenging, tackling such topics can contribute to fostering a more informed and inclusive discourse. • 2. Kingship, Aristocracy, And Oligarchy Of Constitutional... In Politics, Aristotle explicitly says that the best regime is kingship. He reasons, [that] the term constitution signifies the same thing as civic body [and] that the civic body in every city is the sovereign; and the sovereign must necessarily be either One, or Few, or Many. On this basis we may say that when the One, or Few, or Many rule with a view to the common interest, the constitution under which they do so much necessarily be the right constitution (1279^a 25, 188). He goes on to say that according to customary usage the governmenttype that focuses on the common interest is kingship. In the context of the passage, he refers to three types as the right types of structures (kingship, aristocracy, and constitutional government) and includes their perversions in government form, which are Tyranny, [the perversion of] Kingship; Oligarchy of Aristocracy, and Democracy of Constitutional Government (1279^a4, 189). Due to him saying that tyranny is the worst of the worst, and kingship would have to be the best of the right. It therefore must be good and self sufficient. ... He therefore can guide the son to make the right decisions and reach happiness because he himself lives a good, just, and wise life. The city can then live in that way. Aristotle himself speaks of how in order for a city to strive, the leaders must strive as well as they need to have the intentional vision for the common interest accompanied by virtue, justice, and good. I think that this can be best manifested through the analogy of a wise and noble father raising his son. This type of government has historically been seen through the lens of Aristotle when it comes to justifying the purpose for a
  • 3. My Time At The End Of The Day Throughout the last 2 weeks it was interesting to observe where my time has gone to. Often, we hear others and ourselves say phrases like, Where has the time gone? Or, Where has my day gone to? With this exercise, I can now comprehend how I spend the majority of my time and figure out how to solve my not having enough time to do it all problem. At the end of the day, one does not have time to do everything, so we have to choose the important items on the list of to dos. But what do you eliminate and what do you keep? As I observe my time, I notice that the majority of my time was spent doing homework. Almost every day was spent doing class, maybe a workout like a bike ride or run, and homework. It was not until the weekend of the most recent week I had any time to watch a movie or just sit around a play on my phone. Of course I did do activities that were purely for my pleasure, such as phone calls, practice, long dinner time with friends, make new microwave creations with my roomie. These events, however, are also very important. Social life is what keeps us from losing our mind. If I did homework at every meal, I would not make new friends nor connect and catch up with my old ones. As humans, we need relationships to help keep us accountable in our walk with God, in our academics and to share with. Jesus had his friends while He walked on earth, just like we need friends. This is the reason we have D groups and accountability partners. This is why it is important not
  • 4. Risk And Corporate Financial Strategy Essay Risk and Corporate Financial Strategy The relevance of sound risk management cannot be overstated when it comes to the effective implementation of corporate strategy. This text concerns itself with the impact of risks on corporate financial strategy. Some of the risks that will be highlighted in this case include but they are not limited to reinvestment risk, default risk, political risk, interest rate risk, etc. From the onset, it is important to note that risk is part and parcel of every business entity s corporate strategy. For this reason, in seeking to develop the corporate financial strategy of their firms, managers must interrogate the inherent risks. One of the risks that could have an impact on the corporate financial strategy of an entity is business risk which Bender and Ward (2012) define as the inherent risk associated with the underlying nature of the particular business and the specific competitive strategy that is being implemented (p.51). Business risks could arise from events that take place inside or outside the organization. An entity with a significantly high business risk according to Bender and Ward (2012) must not adopt a financial strategy that involves high financial risk (p.51). Yet another risk which could have an impact on an entity s corporate financial strategy is credit risk. For most businesses, this particular risk arises in those instances whereby a client fails to satisfy its contractual obligations. Mostly, businesses find

  • 8. Criminal Profiling And The Law Enforcement Criminal profiling is the investigative profession that is used to help the law enforcement and the government agencies to pursue unknown perpetrators. It objectively seeks to identify the major personality and the behavioral characteristics of the serial offenders based on a thorough analysis of the crimes committed. It includes the combination of the analysis of the physical and the behavioral evidence. This study aims at analyzing criminal profiling on the basis of its basic elements and its use in law enforcement. The documented history of criminal profiling is traced back to the publication of the Malleus Maleficarum, a text from the 1400s; it was written by contractors of the early Roman Catholic Church for the purpose of identifying and eradicating witches (Geberth 23). Despite the fact that it was based on the author s speculation and the religious dogma during that time, it was one of the first systematic methods that was used in the identification and creation of inferences concerning the guilty individuals. The modern criminal profiling was officially inaugurated by the FBI behavioral science unit after several cases of mass homicides were observed in the U.S in the 1960s. The apparent increase in the homicides during this time created a demand on the investigators from the public to solve these crimes using expeditious ways (Geberth 43). This increased the pressure, the pressure on the investigators to use the possible resources to track down on the suspects.
  • 9. Mower Research Paper So far, summer has been delightful. Everything changed when my brother John left for college, and my other brother Mark went on a boy scout hiking trip with my dad. It was just my mom and me home. My brothers were the ones to always mow the lawn. This is mainly because my dad was always in the garage cleaning or working on a project. My mom hurt her shoulder while lifting a dresser in my room, so she was out of the yard work business. Someone needed to take on this weekly chore. I had no idea how to mow the lawn. The size of my front yard and backyard is massive, unfortunately, and I didn t know how to tackle this chore. The sun was brightly shining and the grass was greener than ever, but there was one problem. The grass was getting long... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I didn t know what I was doing, and I was feeling pressured to do well. After she taught me how to start the mower, I was ready. There s no turning back now I thought to myself. I was ready to cut the grass, but I knew I needed five things for what I was about to do. I needed sunlight, dry grass, a working mower, gas, and the energy to do this job nicely and efficiently. I had all of those things, so I started the mower and started to cut the grass. I was glad that I was cutting the grass, because I put hard work into doing this, and I felt proud. While I was cutting the grass, I felt hot, with sweat beading off my face. The lawn mower started to feel heavy, and my legs almost died when I went up the final hill in my backyard. Finally, I made my last row with the mower and it felt like I had conquered the grass. I saw the grass fly into the wind, I heard the rumbling sound of the lawn mower cutting the grass. Lastly, I smelled the freshness of the clean cut grass. I was almost done, the job was done, with pride and in a well manicured fashion. When I was done, I was tired and boiling hot. Even though I was burning up, the job needed to be done, and I couldn t be more proud of myself. This experience I had was not easy, but I learned that even if something takes a little hard work, it s fun to accomplish something
  • 10. The Role Of Communication And Interpersonal Interaction On... Assignment 1: The Role of Communication and Interpersonal Interaction in Health and Social Care In a health and social care setting there are two different types of communication and those are verbal communication and non verbal communication. Verbal communication is the way you talk to someone and non verbal communication is your body language towards someone. Verbal Communication There are many different types of verbal communication. One is whether you have clear speech. Having clear speech means that someone will be able to understand what you are saying without having to ask you again. It depends on whether you pronounce words correctly with the right sounding at the end of words and what your voice sounds like so, if you have a sore throat then your speech may be too quiet and not clear to understand. Another type of verbal communication is selection of appropriate language. This is the use of formal language, informal language, avoiding slang or regional word as appropriate. If you were just talking with your friends or colleagues then you may use informal language because you are familiar with the people but, if you were talking to a service user or client then you would use formal language because you have to be professional within the workplace. You would not use slang with them or regional words because they may not be able to understand what you are saying and it is not professional to use this type of language. Another form of verbal communication is age

  • 12. Body Viking In The Summoner s Tale Along with the alternating closeting and coded expression of the homoerotic in The Summoner s Tale, we find body policing. Robert Mills in his article Gender, Sodomy, Friendship, and the Medieval Anchorhold states, physical contact between men and recluses so reprehensible that the prohibition against such behavior almost goes without saying (8). Although peasant Thomas is not considered a recluse, any physical contact between men was looked down up during this time period. Mills then goes onto say, for this reason all cross sex encounters were to be avoided wherever possible, even if, in the eyes of those who knew better, the two parties were indeed just friends (8). No matter the relationship between the friar and peasant Thomas, readers may infer that he was aware that his desires were not only wrong, but punishable. Thomas engages in body policing by weaponizing his flatulence as a way to attempt to control Friar Dan John s actions. During his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One may even assume that he and the pardoner had some sort of relationship. Looking back to his description in The General Prologue to the Canterbury Tales, the pardoner is referred to as his freend and his compeer (670). This is the where readers get their first glimpse at the possibility of homoeroticism within male friendship. We then see homosexuality displayed in his Prologue to The Summoner s Tale. Shewe forth thyn ers, and lat the frere se (1690). The summoner continuously takes about other men s ers throughout his prologue. He also claims that the devil s ass is always on the friar s mind, however readers may infer this to be his own thoughts that were projected onto the friar. Ultimately The Summoner s Prologue is the reason readers take on a queer analysis of the poem The Summoner s
  • 13. The Pleistocene Ice Ages Throughout the Pleistocene ice ages, large areas of the earth were covered by vast ice sheets. Global sea levels dropped up to 120 metres below present day coastlines, exposing large areas of land that were once flooded by shallow seas. These lands became colonised by vegetation, animals, birds and insects over time. During the Ice Age, the island continent to the south east of Asia comprised New Guinea, Australia and Tasmania as a single land mass. Separating this continent from Asia was a narrow sea about one hundred kilometres wide, over which the first ocean crossings were made sometime before 60,000 years ago. • 15. Spotting A Liar Rhetorical Analysis From viewing Pamela Meyers s video about how to spot liars, I have learned several tips that would help me identify whether a person is lying or not lying. The two main ideas to spotting a liar is by body language and by speech. These two points are essential in the way a person expresses themselves, and how they speak for themselves. According to Pamela Meyers, everyone has lied once before whether they were aware or unaware of it. I agree that every person has lied once in their life, but I think it depends on the situation that they were put in, which may have been the cause that made them commit a lie. This video relates to Business Communications since people are supposed to use a clear sense of expression when communicating with other people through a professional business situation. In my opinion, people are easier to be profiled by their usage of vocals depending on their pitch, grammar, speed, and clarity. Although body language provides visual aid, and a faster depiction of identifying a person who may or may not be lying, it does not help all the time since body language can be adjusted or it could be mistaken for a different meaning. In example of this, when I lie, the only thing that is super obvious and a total ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I confronted her to return the item, since I knew she had taken it. The assembly line principle as it matured in industrial society however, proved to destroy workers creativity and stifle the very essence of human life. Growth and change. On an assembly line workers are degraded to automatons, performing the same tasks over and over and over. Day in day out, without ever having any knowledge or input into any of the other tasks related to completion of the project. This monotony in the workplace spills over into the daily life of many factory workers and affects how they live their life outside of the factory after the whistle blows as much as it does while they re on the assembly line. This spillover was observed by Hamper of his Grandfather. Straight home from work, dinner, the evening news and immediately into bed at 7:00 p.m. He arose each weekday at 3:30 a.m., fixed himself some black coffee, turned on the kitchen radio, smoked a handful of Lucky Strikes and waited to leave for work at a quarter to five. This regimen never varied one iota in the forty years he worked for GM (Hamper pg.6). It is fairly clear that the monotony of the assembly line has a way of setting personal routines for it s workers that eventually work their way out of the factory and into the home. One interesting question that is raised, is whether people who like their life to be routinized eventually find their way to an assembly line or if the assembly line monotony brings the propensity to routinize out in

The Synthesis Of Gold Nanoparticles Abstract: In this study, we report a convenient, simple, economically viable and eco friendly method for the synthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) with carboxymethyl gum kodagogu (CMGK). Carboxymethyl gum kondagogu is a nontoxic and renewable. It is used as reducing, stabilizing and capping agent for the synthesis of AuNPs without using any chemical reducing agent. The effect of various parameters such as concentration of HAuCl4 and CMKG and reaction time for the synthesis of AuNPs was studying. The green synthesized AuNPs were characterized by UVв€’vis spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X ray diffraction techniques. The resultant CMGK capped AuNPs are extremely stable and had significant antibacterial action on both Bacillus subtilis (B.subtilis) and Escherichia coli (E. coli). The catalytic activity of the CMGK capped AuNPs was studied the reduction of 4 nitrophenol (4 NP) to 4 Amino phenol (4 AP) in the presence of NaBH4. With respect to the 4 NP the kinetics of the reaction were found to be a pseudo first order. Unemployment is one of the major causes for economic troubles for the poor. In Elizabeth Warren s America Without a Middle Class, it is said that today one in five American s is unemployed. Today, America is risking the formation of a new underclass. An article Soaring Poverty Casts Spotlight on Lost Decade by Sabrina Tavernise adds to this increasing unemployment rate by saying that young, less educated, mainly men, can t support their children and form stable families because they are jobless. Not having a job is one of the main causes as to why the under class is drowning in debt and why they have no money. Lack of jobs was also a major problem for many poor people in the French Revolution Era. Family owned businesses and stands were not producing enough money to keep the people off the streets. Another main factor causing the poor to stay poor is the lack of security. Elizabeth Warren in her article America Without a Middle Class says that going to college and finding a good job no longer guarantees economic safety. Sabrina Tavernise s Soaring Poverty Casts Spotlight on Lost Decade also highlights the fact that the median full time worker has made no progress on average wage. This is particularly shocking because students think going to college will help them become apart of the elite upper class, however, this is no longer necessarily

Information Sharing Between The Intelligence Community Introduction According to a white paper conducted by the Intelligence Committee of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), both law enforcement and intelligence organizations recognize the need to collaborate, share, and exchange information. However, the events leading up to 9/11 document how the legal and artificial boundaries between them created a serious impediment to protecting the country. First this paper will discuss some of the reasoning and initiatives behind the development of information sharing between the Intelligence Community (IC) and law enforcement agencies; and this paper will also discuss the similarities and difference between Title 50 United States Code (U.S.C.) intelligence activities to law enforcement information gathering/sharing. Apparently, the consensus is that, the IC and the law enforcement agencies need to share more information, that include operational strategies and tactics especially those focused on transnational issues such as terrorism, drugs, counterintelligence, and weapons of mass destruction needed to be better integrated. In hopes of improving information sharing between the IC and law enforcement agencies, Congress passed the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 (IRTPA), and also established a new position of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI). The position of DNI replaced the Director of the Central Intelligence (DCI) as the senior intelligence official, head of the

Why did colonial Americans enjoy drinking so much? In Sharon V. Salinger s, Taverns and Drinking in Early America, she outlines how drinking traditions started and how it affected daily life and the impact it had on the people of early America. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The overview of taverns and drinking and their great impact on daily life is obvious in the evidence and narration Salinger provides. She uses a journal written by Thomas Jefferson to explain how deeply entrenched in their daily lives taverns and drinking were: Thomas Jefferson noted with alarm that cheap distilled spirits were spreading through the mass of our citizens, yet he is credited with inventing the presidential cocktail party (3). Despite any negativity surrounding drinking, its growth in popularity was unstoppable. She also adds the fact that water was considered an unsafe beverage , which partially explains the reason for alcohol s rise to popularity and appearance in the daily lives of early Americans. This increase in drinking also lead to the tavern culture and the need to regulate it, which brings in the lawmaking side. The thesis of Salinger s book and research states, Colonial taverns and hotels that developed from elite taverns manifested an American society that maintained segregation in public by race, gender, and class (245). Essentially, over the course of the eighteenth century colonial taverns grew exclusionary, in time serving certain sections of society rather than the whole community. She writes even at the very beginning of the text of the separation: In the urban taverns that served a middle class and elite clientele, men gathered on a regular basis to transact business, argue over issues of local politics, or share a convivial

Differentiation refers to the different units that work on different kinds of tasks with the use of different skills and work methods in an organization. This fear was instilled in the people by the American government, who saw the growing fondness of communism around the world as a threat to the American way of life. With Senator Joseph McCarthy as the head of the communist witch hunt, this period in time is often referred to as the McCarthy Era. The McCarthy Era is marked by unjust accusations of disloyalty to the United States without consideration for appropriate evidence. During this time, thousands of American citizens were accused of communism and communist sympathy. Of these thousands, a particular case stands out amongst the others. This was the case of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, the first Americans ever executed for espionage against the United States. Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were a married couple who were accused by the United States government of conspiracy against America by running the operation of a Soviet spy ring that was leaking information about the atomic bomb back to the Soviet Union. Although Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were both eventually convicted as spies, there was little hard evidence ever presented at their trial. However, many co conspirators testified for the trials, which would eventually lead to their conviction. The Rosenberg s may have been spies for Soviet Russia, but they were American citizens nonetheless who deserved a just trial. The Rosenberg s did not have any

Spatial Specificity Analysis Having differences between the two types of fMRI, Spatial Correlations of Laminar BOLD and CBV Responses to Rate Whisker Stimulation with Neuronal Activity Localized by Fos Expression by Lu et al. exemplifies the spatial limitations of BOLD fMRI and in contrast demonstrates CBV fMRI s superior spatial specificity. The paper states that the spatial specificity of BOLD fMRI is limited due to two reasons: the physiological process to the hemodynamic response and the microcirculation of the brain (Lu et al, 2004). Duvernoy et al. s discovery of the venous unit is specifically deteriorates BOLD s spatial specificity. The venous unit is compromised of large cortical penetrating veins to drain the amount of deoxygenated blood. This propagation of DH makes it difficult to pinpoint the origin of brain activity which gave reason to Lu et al. to hypothesize that the venous unit employs inaccurate positive BOLD signals (Duvernoy et al., 1981). John Steinbeck noticed how people, in some ways, were treated much worse than they should have been when he considered what these people faced. Many people felt harsh treatment in car dealerships specifically, as they purchased cars to help them travel across the country towards California. Through the use of tone and diction, John Steinbeckcharacterizes the carsalesmen as ruthless towards those who are suffering. Throughout the passage, the tone used to describe the dealers emphasized just how harsh dealers were to those trying to purchase cars. Many times, people were spoken to as if they didn t matter whatsoever. It had been seen that if the women like[d] the car, then the salesman could screw the old man into buying the car at a higher price than he initially would have been willing to in the first place. People were treated as if they didn t matter and if someone chose the more expensive choice, someone else was taken advantage of, no matter their struggles. There were also instances where people came with the attitude of others don t want to buy no cars instead they wanted to take up [their] time. Car salesmen felt as if these people who were fighting to survive were simply wasting time and they didn t have intentions to purchase a car, even if that was the real reason they were there. They diminished the real efforts of people who needed those cars to find work and support themselves just by the way they said people were wasting their time. Steinbeck continued to describe the merciless car salesman with their tone towards individuals with the ways salesmen saw them as bastards on the sidewalk instead of seeing them as struggling just to get by on a daily basis. The harshness of the salesmen s description completely confirms the inhumane thoughts they have towards those who dealt with horrific hardships. Furthermore, Steinbeck took the tone one step further in his representation of just how harsh these salesmen were to people who just wanted to find a vehicle to take them to find work. Car dealers didn t want anything for more n twenty five, thirty bucks, instead they only accepted

  • 46. Oppressed Group Stress Theory Causes The theory of oppressed group mentality has been cited for the reason behind lateral violence (Becher, 2012). This theory states that nurses feel powerless and lack control over the working environment therefore they take it out on someone they believe to be beneath them. A novice nurse is the best target for this as they typically have many questions about the practices and events that happen on the floor. It is easy for a seasoned nurse to feel superior to that novice nurse. Oppressed group mentality also states that the person dislikes themselves or their colleagues (Becher, 2012). This in turn makes a nurse want to feel better about themselves by putting others down. The hierarchy system is another the most common cause of nurse bullying and interpersonal communication problems (Granstra, 2015). Typically, a problem nurse has a higher position of power, whether it be charge nurse or supervisor. A nurse with seniority is more likely to bully a new nurse due to not being given the power they believe they deserve. The rise of the Genghis khan took some period of time and though not 200 years, may have created the opportunity for an army to conquer the place. October 1630 The Venetian city lost 2100 people of which 1200 died in 3 days . A town cannot lose 50% of its population by mere chance in just a single day. Unless the plague was contained in the proceeding days, it becomes hard to understand these deaths.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This looks like an orchestrated attack, well planned and executed. Women are the building blocks of any society and their death is devastating to say the least. Looking at the article, it comes out clearly that the number of women were initially greater than that of men. Killing women would work to minimize armies that a community would have as they would have fewer children even able to take over from their folks. By killing pregnant mothers, the plague reduced the number of children a family would have. This reduced the population of a place significantly such that it becomes easier to be
  • 57. Essay on Emily Prager s Our Barbies, Ourselves Emily Prager s Our Barbies, Ourselves? In the essay Our Barbies, Ourselves, Emily Prager explores the history of the Barbie doll and talks about the Barbie doll itself. Prager seems convinced that the Barbie doll was an object created by a man and that Barbie reeks of sexuality, sexual innuendo and serves as the anti feminist embodiment of every man s fantasy. In her own expressive and persuasive modes to fashion an essay designed to persuade the reader that the Barbie doll is a twisted and corrupt tool designed by men to combat the feminist revolution. Though her attempts at persuasion are commendable, I was not swayed in my opinions on Barbie. If anything, I just found fault with this writer s point of view, and I found her ... Paragraph 7 talks about Prager?s feelings towards Barbie?s boyfriend, Ken. Prager feels that if Barbie was too sexual, then Ken was the opposite with little or no sexuality at all. His appearance was plain, a vast difference from the sculpted curves and slopes of Barbie?s body. Prager suggests that this is because of Ken?s concealed sexuality and Barbie?s exposed sexuality. His plastic painted on jockey briefs were a far cry from Barbie?s larger than life bra free breasts. Prager continues with her conclusion that Barbie must somehow be sexually frustrated, because of Ken?s lack of sexuality, and no matter how sexy she is, or what she does, she will never be able to turn Ken on. It is my opinion that Prager has failed in her attempts to persuade the reader that Barbie is a tool created from male fantasy or a poster child for modern feminism. If anything this essay has helped me to realize that Barbie is a combination of both worlds. She is both sexually appealing to men and someone that women can admire and even a toy that little girls can play with and hope to be like when they are older. I still remain adamantly devoted to my Barbie dolls, seeing her as neither temptress or sexually frustrated object.
