The Miracle Worker Helen Keller
Helen Keller defied all the odds stacked against her. Annie Sullivan defied all odds of teaching her.
Together they create a story. William Gibson, the author of the play, The Miracle Worker, portrays
through the struggles of each girl that it takes work and discipline not pity and laziness to accomplish
goals. Helen was a blind and deaf six and a half year old prone to tantrums and bad manners when
Annie first met her. Considering that Annie herself had been blind and had had nine surgeries to
correct her eyes readers can see that Annie understands a bit of what Helen is going through and her
need for language. Annie was not exactly qualified to teach Helen yet somehow she was able to open
up Helen`s mind and teach her language and

Outline For Exothermic Reaction
what is an exothermic reaction and how can we recognize them?
Chemistry; types of reactions.
Question:
What is an exothermic reaction and where can we find them.
Thesis:
Despite the fact that there are many different types of reactions, exothermic reactions are a category of
reactions that give off energy, this is what makes them so dangerous as well as interesting. It is also
what allows them to put on the best show.
To start things off lets go over what a chemical reaction is. A chemical reaction is a chemical change
which forms new substances, such as compounds. Common chemical reactions include a candle
burning, a nail rusting. *Physical changes reposition molecules but do not affect their internal
structures. Physical changes you may already know of are, scrambling eggs, boiling water and even
slicing an apple. Where as a chemical changes result in the creation of different chemical substances at
the molecular level. Chemical change requires breaking or making of bonds between atoms, and are
usually irreversible. Chemical changes such as petrol burning, iron rusting and baking a cake. You
cant simply dry rust to get it back to pure metal or freeze a cake to get the ingredients out. ***

Oxidation is defined as the interaction between oxygen molecules and all the different substances they
may contact, from metal to living tissue. Rusting is a chemical reaction between iron and oxygen to
yield iron oxide, this reaction can be expressed as 4Fe + 3O2 2Fe2O3 Exothermic reacting in living
tissue might seem far fetched, surprisingly enough its not. Your lungs are going through a combustion
process to respirate the air we breath, into biological energy know as ATP. Why don t we sound like
engines? The reason is that our cells are just too slow at it, they would have to be much faster for there
to be any resemblance, to the combustion we have come to

Heathcliff Morally Ambiguous Character Analysis
A Morally Ambiguous Character A morally ambiguous character is a character who is conflicted and
uncertain in which course of action to ethically take during specific situations. In Emily BrontĂŤ s
Wuthering Heights, the character Heathcliff is the most morally ambiguous character in the novel.
Raised in in an environment where he was psychologically and physically deteriorated, his motives
and actions appear justifiable. His environment, motives, and actions showcase Heathcliff s moral
ambiguity. Mr. Earnshaw, the father figure at the Wuthering Heights estates, upon returning from a trip
to Liverpool, has brought a young orphan boy in place of the gifts he promised his children. Despite
Mr. Earnshaw s kind heart, the family refuses to accept the boy. Wuthering Height s maid, Ellen Nelly
Dean, narrating the family s history to Lockwood, tells him the family s first impressions and their
treatment of the boy. She states, they entirely refused to have it in bed with them, or even in their
room; and I had no more sense, so I put it on the landing of the stairs, hoping it might he gone on the
morrow (BrontĂŤ 40). Both children are upset at Heathcliff for have crushing the gifts their father has
promised to bring back to them. Neither let him room with them, resulting in Heathcliff sleeping on
the floor outside of Mr. Earnshaw s room for the first night of his arrival. Aside from being an orphan,
this was Heathcliff s first experience with rejection at Wuthering Heights. Not only did the children
dislike Heathcliff for have ruining their gifts, but the adults did not appreciate his arrival either. Nelly
claims she hopes it might be he gone on the morrow (BrontĂŤ 40). In addition to wishing the boy would
disappear, she refers to Heathcliff as not the pronoun he, but with the word it, degrading him to a thing
as opposed to a human being. Nelly then descripes Mrs. Earnshaw s opinion on the boy, Mrs.
Earnshaw was ready to fling it out of doors: she did fly up, asking how he could fashion to bring that
gipsy brat into the house, when they had their own bairns to feed and fend for?, (BrontĂŤ 39). She is
just as welcoming as the children and maid, Nelly, are. She refers to him as a derogatory, gypsy boy,

Minoan Crete Research Paper
The first great age of Minoan Crete was the Old Palace period(2000 1700B.C),during which huge
labyrinthine palaces were built at Knossos, Phaistos, Malia and Zakros. In these palaces the power and
wealth of the island were concentrated, and around them the political, social, economic and religious
life of the island revolved. The manner in which these buildings and their various servicing systems
were constructed is quite remarkable. In 1700 B.C. a great earthquake shook the island and the palaces
were laid in ruins. In a very short time, however, new palaces were built on the ruins of the old in an
architectural style expressive of the Minoan love of nature and desire to live in a world of light and
charm.
The Mycenaean civilization flourished during the period roughly between 1600 BC, when Heliadic
culture in mainland Greece was transformed under influences from Minoan Crete, and 1100 BC, when
it perished with the collapse of Bronze Age civilization in the eastern Mediterranean. Mycenaean
artifacts have been found well outside the limits of the Mycenaean world: namely Mycenaean swords
are know from as far away as Georgia in the Caucasus and Mycenaean bronze double axes and other
objects dating from 13th century BCE have been found in Ireland and in Wessex and Cornwall in
England. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only did the Mycenae ans defeat the Minoans, but according to later Hellenic legend they defeated
Troy ,presented in epic as a city state that rivaled Mycenae in power. Because the only evidence for
the conquests is Homer s lliad and other texts steeped in mythology, the existence for Troy and the
historicity of the Trojan War is uncertain. Mycenae ans were buried in a sitting position, and some of
the nobility underwent mummification, whereas Homer s Achilles and Patroclus were not buried but
cremated, in Iron Age fashion, and honoured with gold urns instead of gold

Examples Of Literary Devices In The House On Mango Street
Literary devices may be used to add more dimension and description to writing, but they can also
show multiple characters perspectives, too. These perspectives can portray insights on characters that
show true personalities. In The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros, certain examples of
literary devices are strategically used to do so. The story includes different vignettes that guides
through the main character s, Esperanza s life. Each vignette illuminates Esperanza s problems and
outlooks about race, gender, economic status, age, and society as a whole. Using a variety of literary
devices, such as figurative language, sensory details, comparisons, and allusions, Cisneros truly
displays disparate characters perspectives about themselves ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

One example is when she talks to Alicia about their homes. Before they talk, Esperanza states that
Alicia gave Esperanza a bag with the word GUADALAJARA stitched onto it, which is home for
Alicia, and one day she will go back there (106). Here, Esperanza contrasts her temporary home with
Alicia s permanent one. While Alicia has an actual home where she can live for the rest of her life;
Esperanza doesn t and continuously moves to her different homes . By comparing her home, she is
implying that she wants a home where she can settle and be happy, not like the one on Mango Street.
This ultimately shows that she s not satisfied with her current lifestyle and wants for a better life.
Another comparison is when she compares her age and gender with an older man. In the vignette The
First Job , she lands a job at a photo developer studio where she hides from the other men and women
at lunch time because she is scared of them looking at her. Subsequently, she meets a man who says it
s his birthday and asks for a tiny birthday kiss, and she thinks I thought I would just because he was so
old... he grabs my face with both hands and kisses me hard on the mouth (55). Here, Esperanza
compares her age and gender with the actions that the older man does. She is working a normal day,
then randomly a guy comes up and kisses her directly, without her consent. By showing this example
of an old man in the workplace, she is basically stating men, especially older ones, are dangerous by
sexually harassing young women such as herself. This means that she doesn t visualize men as people
who she will marry and live a happy life with, but people who are filled with evil. Through comparing
and contrasting Esperanza with other characters, a deeper sense of understanding of Esperanza is

Tutoring in the Lifelong Learning Sector.
In a post 16 educational world, where student retention and achievement are given high priority, the
tutor s role is central to successful learning (Green, 2001, p.1). I endeavour to study my tutorial
practice; analysing a recent one to one tutorial with student X (case study) (Appendix 26). I shall
outline ways of improving my tutorial skills and techniques (Appendix 29) using reflective practice
and feedback from student X in the form of a completed feedback questionnaire (Appendix 15 and
16). My aim is to develop the necessary pastoral and academic support skills (Appendix 29) in order
to plan and deliver effective one to one and group tutorials for the future.
The tutor s understanding of the various roles they play during a tutorial is vital for effective student
support. This role includes the following: comprehending that the coaching session is directly linked
with teaching; helping students in terms of a particular skill and offering students general guidance
and support linked with friendship. All these characteristics need underlying strong pastoral elements
linked to an academic outcome embedded within the tutorial session, thus helping students find a
solution. The quality of the learner/tutor interaction is key and increasingly colleges have moved to

International Regulation Of Copyright Law Essay
1) Introduction:
Trademark: Trademark recognizable features, expression, or other symbol that indicates a particular
product or service, and legally it apart from all other products. It also serves to only identify the
product or service from a particular company, and the recognition of ownership of the company brand.
The protected products are generally considered to be a form of property. Most countries have
agencies through which companies can have their products with trademarks. One of the main goals of
a product is protected to protect the product from used without the permission of the original society.
Most countries have patent laws that are designed to defend against patent breach. International
regulation of copyright is much more complex, because there is no universally recognized Patent
Office
Patent: A patent is basically a government license which provides the holder the exclusive right to
process, design or new invention for a specific time period. Patent applications are usually handled by
government agencies. You can use a patent to protect his invention. It provides you the opportunity to
take legal steps against anyone who makes, used, sold or imported without your permission.
To obtain a patent, your invention must be all of the following: Something that can be used or New

Online Communities Essay
Communities are all about groups of individuals who share something in common. This makes going
on the internet seem like an odd way to find more communities, form new ones, or strengthen pre
existing ones. The internet however is full of communities. Communities can be based upon religion,
location, ethnicity, an interest, or a personal matter. The internet itself is a global distributed data
communications network (Kirmayer, Raikhel, Rahimi, 2013, p. 166). This is what makes the internet
so full of communities because communication is the key to putting multiple individuals with
commonalities into communication, which is the basis of any community. Online communities differ
from communities that exists off the web in a couple of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This distinction of authority aids in creating a hierarchy within a community. With online
communities, every member is often able to contribute equally, allowing their voice to be heard. This
gives the impression that every individual is an authority figure on a subject due to their ability to be
equally heard. (Cellary, 2008, p. 107) For example to post a video about cats on Youtube, it is equally
as easy for one person as it is the next to post a video. They simply must own a camera, have a
Youtube account, be willing to record something about cats, and post it on Youtube (How to upload
videos, n.d.). A third and huge difference between the two types of community is that online
communities offer up the chance to be anonymous. Online one can identify with the use of almost any
name or image. The name doesn t have to be a real one, and there s not really any way for one to
prove the image is truly theirs or of themselves (Cellary, 2008, p. 107).
However, this ability for anonymity within an online community doesn t necessarily mean privacy.
The study Internet social network communities: Risk taking, trust, and privacy concerns by Fogel and
Nehmad (2008) talks about how much university students are willing to share on social media.
Although the study does strictly look at one set of university students, it gives an example of how
much individuals are willing to share personal information such as pictures of oneself, ones email

cases are considered by the uninformed to be simply fads which come and go. As I have discovered,
these theories are rather the steps on a ladder which continually takes us higher and higher. Douglas
McGregor in his book, The Human Side of Enterprise published in 1960 has examined theories on
behavior of individuals at work, and he has formulated two models which he calls Theory X and

Collaborative self directed work teams can get complex projects done at faster rates than the
traditional boss worker arrangement, because the decision making process is made faster and more
effective in a team. Empowering teams to make decisions about their work also enhances satisfaction
and reduces turnover (Berger, 1998). Self directed work teams involve employees in a specific area, or
those who are working on a specific product or process. Self directed work teams can be any size, we
usually use 5 team members but normally run no more than 12 to 15 employees. The work team
makes the decisions that would normally be made by a supervisor or manager, and might interact with
the company s suppliers and customers, whether they are inside or outside the company.
In some companies, self directed work teams will also take over many of the human resource
functions as well (Cotton, 1993). Self directed work teams have also become one of the more
changing approaches to employee involvement, and has been increasing in popularity within the last
several years. Companies such as Proctor Gamble, Digital Equipment, General Mills, Federal Express
and other well known companies, are reorganizing their employees into self directed work teams. In a
recent survey, 476 Fortune 500 companies found that although only 7% of the work

The aviation history started in 1783 with an inedited public demonstration by the Montgolfier

Benefits And Downfalls Of The United States
I. INTRODUCTION
Technology is an essential part of human development, but with technological advancements we can
see our lives being changed every single day. In Sao Paulo, technology is on the rise and is slowly
catching up with the United States and other countries that are quickly developing. With a generation
of kids in the United States that have connection to anything at their fingertips, we can notice that our
perspectives and modalities are always adapting. America has developed wireless technologies that
transfer data with broadband and wireless devices. Streaming services such as Pandora, Spotify,
ITunes radio, Pandora, Google Play, and Beats Music have provided users with applications to stream

The data transfer rate is very important because it regulates our devices and technologies we use. In
general, the data transfer rate reflects changes and improvements in digital technologies, where newer
systems, such as solid state electronics, have resulted in much higher data transfer rates within only a
few decades. Often, people mistake transfer rate with broadband, nevertheless, they are two different
things working in slightly different ways.
Transfer rate looks at the amount of data that has actually been transferred between two different
points, while bandwidth is a measurement of the theoretical maximum transfer capacity of a certain
point on a network. With all this data flowing freely, there has to be some sort of restriction on how
fast different applications are. This is where net neutrality comes into play. For example, online
streaming effectively requires your computer to download a new image once every fraction of a
second. This takes up much more data than sending a simple email or using a simple application. The
result of this is that organizations and bigger users have to buy high performance networks to
maximize rates. Companies such as T Mobile have released unlimited data plans with no cap on, and
this has been causing waves throughout the industry. They have been attempting to gain market share
with companies like AT T and Verizon. Now, they offer to pay out the contract fees of customers who
switch over. T Mobile may not be favoring one

Social Learning And Constructivism Theory
Social Learning and Constructivism
Learning is described as a process by which behavior changes as a result of experience. According to
Merriam and Cafarella (1991), there are five theories/orientations to learning, two of which will be
compared in this paper; social learning theory and constructivism theory.
Social Learning Theory
Regarding social learning, this theory explains the individual learning process, the formation of one s
identity and, how individuals learn by observing others in a social setting. Known as the bridge
between behaviorist and cognitive learning theories, it incorporates some aspects of behaviorist and
cognitive frameworks (Taylor, et al., 2000. para. 7). As stated by Psychologist Albert Bandura (1986,
1988), Most human behavior is learned observationally through modeling: from observing others, one
forms an idea of how new behaviors are performed, and on later occasions this coded information
serves as a guide for action. Effective modeling teaches general rules and strategies for dealing with
different situations. (Bandura). Concerning social learning, in regards to the role of an instructor, he or
she has to be an appropriate model, equip their students to self regulate, self monitor, self correct, and
properly self monitor (Ellis, n.d.). An instructor needs to be a positive influence, a mentor, and
understand how his or her behaviors affect others. They must inspire and teach by example, encourage
teamwork, and support the growth and

Alexander Mcqueen Research Paper
Alexander McQueen is still known for his unique designs even after he s death. He was born in
London, England on March 17th 1969.
His fashion career started at the ripe age of 16, when he started working on Savile Row Street in
London s Mayfair district. There, he was employed with the tailor shop Anderson and Shephard, and
then Gieves and Hawkes. After a while, he began working with costume designers Angels and
Bermans, where his work would be trademarked later in his life.
At a very young age, Alexander was offered three apprenticeships that all consisted in construction of
clothing. While he was doing this work, he learned and mastered 6 methods of pattern cutting that
were used in the 16th century. Designer Koji Tatsuno employed him and a year later he was employed

Education Budget Cuts
School budgets are being cut lower and lower year by year. For the past 6 years, after the recession,
the funding for education has decreased tremendously. The new budgets are providing less per pupil
funding to kindergarten through 12th grade. At the same, the nation wants graduates to excel in their
technical and analytical skill but the decrease in educational funds are contradicting and raise concern.
The budget cuts in education systems delay the school district s ability to deliver high quality
education to their students. Restoring school funding should be a top priority.
For the 2013 2014 school year, at least 34 states are providing less funding per student. Thirteen of
those states have cut back on the funding by ten percent. Fifteen of the states are providing less
funding to the school district then they did the year before. Despite the fact that most states are
experiencing a tax increases. 44 percent of the school funding comes from state funds and, decreasing
those mean the school districts have to scale back the educational services or raise local property tax
to cover to cost; some might have to do a combination of both. Education budget cuts began in July
2008 with reducing the number of teachers and other employees but as of August 2013 had cut
324,000 jobs nationally since 2008. Some states increased funding for the current school years but not
nearly, enough to compare to what was cut the previous year. New Mexico for example had an

Ethics Of Care Essay
The ethics of care may be a normative moral theory: a theory concerning what makes actions
virtuously right or wrong. It s one amongst a cluster of normative moral theories that were developed
by feminists within the half of the 20th century. Whereas consequentialist and deontological moral
theories emphasize universal standards and non partisanship, ethics of care emphasize the importance
of response. Ethics of care contrasts with additional well known moral views, like consequentialist
theories and deontological theories. This kind of outlook is what feminist critics decision a justice
view of morality. A morality is a care that rests on the understanding of relationships as a response to a

group and cultural norms and roles. Tronto makes the hassle to differentiate the terms responsibility

for ebb and flow in and between category structures and gender roles, and to different socially created
roles that may bind responsibility to those solely appropriate to these roles. The definition of an ethic

Personal Themes In A Stolen Life By Jaycee Dugard
She was alone, she was scared, she had no idea that her normal life would be taken away for the next
eighteen years... and hope is the sole reason that she survived it. For kidnap victim, Jaycee Dugard, the
word hope brings back a flood of emotions and memories. In her chilling memoir, A Stolen Life , she
describes a very personal experience in which she encountered at age eleven, where she soon learned
just how important hope was. Dugard never saw it coming when a man named Phillip Garrido stole
her from that bus stop on just another normal morning... or so she thought. Soon after, he took her
away and held her hostage in his backyard for almost two decades. Interestingly enough, she has
miraculously turned this cruel situation into a very inspiring story. Therefore, she proves to us that
even if you re living out your worst nightmare, you still have something to live for. For this reason,
Dugard puts together a descriptive setting, her absurd relationship with her abductor, and personal
symbols to illustrate how just a little hope can be the essence of surviving any situation life throws at
you. For starters, it could have been the easiest thing in the world for Jaycee to lose hope by becoming
discouraged by the filthiness and disgust of the environment she was held captive in for all of those
years. She paints a picture of just how unpleasant her setting was by describing how The desk had lots
of junk on it...to the left of the door there is a toilet with a built in

Tibetan Independence Essay
The Question of Tibetan Independence
China has occupied the Tibetan plateau with military force for over 50 years now. The legitimacy of
Chinese claims to lawful control over Tibet is an extremely complicated issue, in many ways made
more difficult by the unusual relationship Tibet maintained in relation to the international community
before 1950. There are several competing considerations regarding Tibet s rightful status, each to be
addressed in turn. A historical account is necessary to address claims that Tibet has always been an
integral part of China, as well as to determine what formal arrangements have existed in the past and
with what parties. Determining the status of Tibet in international law is a crucial step in ... Show

This supposed connection refers to a rather complex relationship that has evolved over a period of
centuries. Though historically there certainly has been contact and some degree of connection between
Tibet and China, this connection does not necessarily provide the basis for Chinese claims to lawful
possession of Tibet. One fundamental issue when dealing with the legal status of Tibet is to first
determine what the name Tibet refers to, which is in fact enormously controversial. The current
Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR) as designated by the PRC is not equivalent to the traditional
Greater Tibet referred to by Tibetans. There are large groups of ethnically Tibetan people in the
Qinghai, Sichuan, and Gansu provinces of China, separate from the TAR. These regions lay outside of
what Melvyn Goldstein terms political Tibet , the central Tibetan areas administered as part of Tibet
more or less continuously since the inception of unified Tibetan government. Tibetans in exile
consider the eastern regions, which they know as Kham and Amdo to also be contained within Tibet .
Goldstein dubs these areas ethnographic Tibet (Goldstein xi).
The distinction between political and ethnographic Tibet creates confusion, much of it willful, in
discussion of the historical relations between Tibet and China. For example, there are instances where
the Chinese claim that they received governmental

Definition Essay On Patriarchy
Guess What? You re a Feminist! Feminism is not a radical movement or a fringe movement or an
embarrassment or a fraud. Feminism is simple. The patriarchy does exist. To identify as a feminist is
to acknowledge that women are people, and, as such, women deserve the same social, economic, and
political rights and opportunities as other styles of people (i.e., men people). To be a feminist is also to
acknowledge that the world is not, currently, a fair and just and safe place for women to exist. Because
it is not. Obviously (see: everything ever). To deny these things makes you, at worst, a bad person who
hates women, including but not limited to: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Aniston,
Jennifer Lopez, your mother, Jennifer Lopez s mother, Jennifer Garner s Aunt Marcy, Michelle
Obama, Ellen DeGeneres, Cher, Julie Andrews, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney
Kardashian, Kraken Kardashian, Karphone Kardashian, Kickball Kardashian, Kornkob Kardashian,
and THE VIRGIN FUCKING MARY. At best, it makes you a complacent idiot. ONE MORE TIME:
If you are not a feminist (or something blamelessly ignorant, like a baby or a ferret or a college
freshman), then you are a bad person. Those are the only options. You either believe that women are
people, or you don t. To help you pick one, here ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Operation Iceberg Battle Of Okinawa
Operation Iceberg The attack at Okinawa was the last major battle of WWII and also one of the
bloodiest. On April 1st, 1945, Easter Sunday, more than 180,000 Marine Corps and the U.S. Army
troops descended on the Pacific Coast of Okinawa for a final threat towards Japan ( Battle of Okinawa
). The Battle of Okinawa was also known as Operation Iceberg. Operation iceberg is a codename of
the major battle fought on the Pacific island of Okinawa by the United States Marine and Army forces
against the imperial Japanese Army. Operation Iceberg was said to be, in every way, vast compared to
any other operation. American troops believed that when they captured Okinawa, the rest of Japan s
homeland would be easy to destroy and take over. It was the largest amphibious landing in the Pacific
Theatre of WWII and was proven to be the deadliest battle on the pacific side of WWII ( Battle Of
Okinawa: Summary, Fact, Pictures and Casualties. ). The Pacific Campaign started after the attack of
Pearl Harbor. It involved six countries and over 180,000 casualties. Japan s belligerent acts and
attitude towards Americans only provoked and encouraged the troops to attack more immensely. The
Japanese knew the battle was in extremis, but still continued to fight for honor. On October 3, 1944,
American forces in the Pacific Ocean areas received a directive task to seize positions in the Ryukyu
Islands. Okinawa was the most important island of the Ryukyu group, it was the threshold of the four

Essay On Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome
For the past 50 years acute respiratory distress syndrome or better known as ARDS, has been an issue
in hospital intensive care units all around the world. The first documented published scientific
description dates back to 1821 when Laennec described the gross pathology of the heart and lungs and
described idiopathic anasarca of the lungs; pulmonary edema without heart failure in a treatise on
diseases of the chest. 1 Cardiac and non cardiac issues were not taken into consideration as part of the
cause at that time. The first definition dates back to Ashbaugh and colleagues in 1967.2 Though
modern medicine has been around for hundreds of years, it wasn t until hospitals designed intensive
care units and began using mechanical ventilation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though many advances were made multiple research done, in 2012 the medical community once
again got together. An expert panel agreed that ARDS is a type of acute diffuse, inflammatory lung
injury, leading to increased pulmonary vascular permeability, increased lung weight, and loss of
aerated lung tissue. The clinical hallmarks are hypoxemia and bilateral radiographic opacities,
associated with increased venous admixture, increased physiological dead space, and decreased lung
compliance. The morphological hallmark of the acute phase is diffuse alveolar damage (ie, edema,
inflammation, hyaline membrane, or hemorrhage). 3 It was at this conference that the Berlin definition
was put into existence. Though it is to note that most research to date has been done using the AECC
definition, the Berlin definition removed what was known as acute lung injury. Under the new Berlin
definition patients with a PaO2/FiO2 ratio of 200 300 while on a PEEP of +5 would now be classified
as mild ARDS, while patients with a PaO2/FiO2 ratio of 100 200 would be classified as moderate
anything under 100 would be classified as severe. With pulmonary capillary wedged pressures under
18mm HG. The Berlin definition defined acute stating that the maximum period between risk factor

Research Paper On Fraternal Twins
In my opinion, twins reared in such different conditions can display some of the same traits especially
in their biological traits. In this movie (Twins, 1988), Julius and Vincent Benedict considered as
fraternal twins. Fraternal twins are formed from two different ova fertilized by two different sperm.
The fraternal twins are siblings born at the same time. Like other siblings they share half their genes,
chromosomes and also deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), (M Fish, 2010). So they shared some of the
common traits indirectly in their daily routine. Not only that, it was also considered as nature, which is
the biological traits inherited from their biological parents.
Adoption studies stated that two sets of factors that may account for differences in behaviour and

island, so he does not know about the life in the city, he totally realiable and right minded, he was also

people instead of his biological father, this can be explained by the incidence whereby he is shy
speechless when he met a girl, Marnie in the supermarket. Besides, he was also resists to those
antisocial activities or behavior. In contrast, Vincent was more to craft and sly guys. This probably
because of nurture factor whereby he lived in a competitive city and need to compete with others in

Outsiders Value In Society
There was a man from Boston, Massachusetts who was an outsider because he took air baths.
However, he is no longer considered an outsider because he created some great inventions for the
society, for example, he created the bifocals for people who had a hard time seeing and that guy s
name is Ben Franklin. Outsiders contribute a great value in society. Outsiders have value in society
because no matter how weird you are you still have the ability to help others. Take for example,

1.1 Introduction The death of self is chosen as the subject of study in Paulo Coelho s The Alchemist

on the basis of some references and the novel, The Alchemist.
The question may be raised: is the self a fact in Coelho s The Alchemist? Coelho has used the
individual or self of the characters as the umbra and created penumbra around it to give concrete form
in the novel. But, this might be refuted in terms that the individual loses his/her identity when being

life is under one s control, and how much is controlled by fate. The old king states that the world s
greatest lie is that at some point during our lives, we lose control of what s happening to us, and our
lives become controlled by fate. While this point of view strongly supports that will has a stronger
hold on one s destiny, later events, such as Santiago and the alchemist being caught by warring tribes,
demonstrate fate s hold on one s life. However, in every situation where fate does take over, the
characters are capable to excavate themselves from the situation. For, instance, after being caught by

The Federal Trade Commission Act
In 1890, the United States Congress passed the first Anti Trust Law, called the Sherman Act, in an
attempt to combat anti trusts and as a comprehensive charter of economic liberty aimed at preserving
free and unfettered competition as the rule of trade. (The Antitrust Laws). Twenty four years later in
1914, Congress passed two more Anti Trust Laws: the Federal Trade Commission Act, which created
the Federal Trade Commission whose aim is to protect American consumers, and the Clayton act,
which fills in any loopholes in the Sherman Act. Ultimately, these three Anti Trust Acts regulate three
core problems within the market: restricting the creation of cartels, restricting the mergers and
acquisitions of organizations which could substantially lessen competition , and prohibit the creation
of monopolies in the market ( The Antitrust Laws ).
The history of the antitrust laws date back to the late nineteenth century, following the end of the Civil
War. This time, known as the Gilded Era, began when entrepreneurs began searching for big profits
from their business ideas. Over time, the small business ideas turned into massive corporations. The
creation of new ideas and a radical shift towards industrialism led to the Industrial Revolution.
Amongst the most powerful corporations during this time were the four that still exist today: John D
Rockefeller s Standard Oil Company, Andrew Carnegie s Carnegie Steel, Cornelius Vanderbilt s New

American bison (Bison bison) have lived for thousands of years, but are now going extinct due to
buffalo hunting. Bisons live in America, and their habitats are mostly river valleys, prairies and grassy

Their predators are gray wolves, cougars, and bears. There is one kind of species of American bison,
but American bison ancestors can be traced to Southern Asia thousands of years ago. Also, the history
of bison and Native Americans are intertwined. Female bison breed when they are two years old, and
give birth to their first calves when they are three years old. Cows can be 20 25 years old, giving birth

Introduction
The need for cheap and efficient means of travel coupled with the development of motor vehicles has
seen a rapid growth in the automotive industry. The automotive industry encompasses all the
companies and activities involved in the manufacture of motor vehicles, including most components,
such as engines and bodies (EncyclopĂŚdia Britannica, 2014). Even though much of the manufacturing
nowadays is done by robots, computers and machines, the strongest and most luxurious vehicles are
still considered to be the ones that have had the most human involvement and effort applied on them.
This makes simple tools such as the cordless hand drill necessitous in the entire process because of
their wide range of uses and applications which will be further discussed in this report. Hand drills
today, are used in almost every industry that involves assembling individual components to make a
complete structure however, this report will focus on the design of a cordless hand drill specifically
for the automotive industry.

Robots And The Robot Robots
In the mid 1970 s second generation robots were introduced. As these robots became more advanced
they were equipped with internal sensors which gave them a major advantage over first generation
robots. This new technology gave them increased information about the world around them. Robots
use sensors to detect changes around them and to respond to their surroundings based on the
information they receive from certain sensors. There are many types of sensors that perform a variety
of tasks by transforming mechanical, heat, and light energies into electrical signals. The signals
produced by sensors communicate to the robot on how it should respond to different situations. This
gives the robot a higher sense of intelligence and adaptive skills by providing more information about
its environment. These skills allow the robot to change their manipulator location and the position of
its end effector so that it can work around obstructions in its work envelope. The robot s surroundings,
the precision needed, and what must be sensed all help decide what type of sensor must be used for
the robot. Depending on these credentials, robots could be equipped with light, optical, sound, or
temperature sensors. Light is a form of radiation that makes up a group of frequencies in the
electromagnetic spectrum that we can see. Robots can react to this form of radiation by using light
sensors. Light sensors respond to variations in light energy by applying many types of opto electronic

profit loses. Through the media, the internet, television stations and even newspapers, the world is
surrounded by advertising. Not many people are aware of the intentions behind the execution and
creation of each and every one of those advertisements. The corporate world plays a huge role in the
marketing ploys created to deceive consumers. Using multiple tactics, corporations intentionally
manipulate consumers into buying their products. Corporations will exploit consumers by
manipulating, misleading, confusing or blatantly untrue information through advertisements and
public relations to fuel their profit motive. This paper will analyze how corporations execute this
process while trying to maintain a profitable corporate image. It will cover the multiple types of
brainwashing procedures that corporations use and the strategies used by public relations to avert
critics and non believers through the years. Corporations use a vast majority of propaganda to promote
and advertise their products to the public. Through multiple media sources, corporations maintain a
powerful hold over the attention of everyday consumers. Through using the concept brainwashing
consumers or maintaining a reformed corporate image, corporations continue to manipulate the media
in their favour. During the 20th century, modern public relations, began to emerge in order to change

Ernest Van Den Haag s In Defense Of Capital Punishment
Capital punishment has been a hot topic for quite some time now. In earlier times it was merely a way
to punish as well as an attempt to deter members of society from committing heinous crimes. In the
last century we have actively monitored the effects of capital punishment, and this has revealed the
truth. It is for these reasons capital punishment is not morally acceptable. In this paper I shall argue
that capital punishment is immoral. In Furman v. Georgia we find a landmark case in which the
legality of capital punishment is exposed. Judges Stewart, White, and Douglas found the death penalty
to be immoral given the arbitrary forces involved. ( Furman v. Georgia ) They believed this was
causing a higher number of minorities specifically blacks to be subjected to ... Show more content on

One such person is Ernest Van Den Haag the author of In Defense of Capital Punishment. He argues
there is no expressed or valid reasons for removing capital punishment in murder cases, and even
expresses his support for the arbitration used in capital punishment. (Van Den Haag) He also argues on
the basis of the 5th amendment which states nobody shall be Deprived of life, liberty, or property
without due process of law. This implying the judicial system is in no way breaching the 14th because
it to reiterates the importance of the 5th, and as long as the defendant is provided due process capital
punishment is in fact fair. (Van Den Haag) He then backs the morality factor by stating if it were
immoral the general public would be against it and we would see less and less people receiving the
death penalty yet we do not. On top of this the morality of capital punishment can be backed up by the
Utilitarian moral theory given the fact removing murderers benefits the larger group or the non
criminals and also backs up Van Den Haag s claims about the general public. Though these are solid
reasons they lack the depth of a solid

The Sexual Characteristics Of Female Leaders
Aside from their sexual characteristics, female leaders do not have much else in common. Some have
brought peace to the world, while others have created war. Some have been competent and brilliant,
others are incompetent and corrupt. They come from outlooks ranging from conservative to liberal.
And represent every race and color (Unger, Sheese, Main, (2010).
Women are master multi taskers and have held the reins for years both in the home and in a
professional environment. They are highly cooperative but women are also not afraid to get territorial
to protect their terrain. As leaders, women invest in themselves and become knowledge seekers. They
are not afraid to ask questions when given a safe platform to express themselves. For ... Show more

Only two out of ten men say having more women in top leadership positions would do a lot to
improve women s lives (Women and Leadership, 2015). This speaks volumes.
In 2014, a study conducted by Caliper (a Princeton, New Jersey based management consulting firm,
and Aurora (a London based organization that advances women), identified a number of
characteristics that differentiate women leaders from men when it comes to qualities of leadership
(Caliper R D, 2014). The study identified that:
1. Women leaders are more persuasive.
2. Women leaders learn from hardship and continue with an I ll show you attitude.
3. Women leaders demonstrate a team building leadership style of problem solving and decision
making.
4. Women leaders are more likely to ignore rules and take risks (Caliper Research, 2005, p.3 6).
These high emotionally intelligent qualities have leverage in the public and private sector (Dabke,
2010). An effective leader must possess emotional intelligence: emotional self control, self
assessment, and empathy (Goleman, Boyatzis, McKee, 2013). These components of emotional
intelligence are also in alignment with the biblical principles of leadership (Bryant, 2011). And all of
these characteristics can be found in the dynamic Ms. Ursula Burns.
Ursula Burns is chairman and chief executive officer of Xerox Corporation. Or as she likes to call
herself a chief storyteller (Hymowitz, 2013). She is also the first black

Question: What is an exothermic reaction and where can we find them. Thesis: Despite the fact that there are many different types of reactions, exothermic reactions are a category of reactions that give off energy, this is what makes them so dangerous as well as interesting. It is also what allows them to put on the best show. To start things off lets go over what a chemical reaction is. A chemical reaction is a chemical change which forms new substances, such as compounds. Common chemical reactions include a candle burning, a nail rusting. *Physical changes reposition molecules but do not affect their internal structures. Physical changes you may already know of are, scrambling eggs, boiling water and even slicing an apple. Where as a chemical changes result in the creation of different chemical substances at the molecular level. • 4. Heathcliff Morally Ambiguous Character Analysis A Morally Ambiguous Character A morally ambiguous character is a character who is conflicted and uncertain in which course of action to ethically take during specific situations. In Emily BrontĂŤ s Wuthering Heights, the character Heathcliff is the most morally ambiguous character in the novel. Raised in in an environment where he was psychologically and physically deteriorated, his motives and actions appear justifiable. His environment, motives, and actions showcase Heathcliff s moral ambiguity. Mr. Earnshaw, the father figure at the Wuthering Heights estates, upon returning from a trip to Liverpool, has brought a young orphan boy in place of the gifts he promised his children. Despite Mr. Earnshaw s kind heart, the family refuses to accept the boy. Wuthering Height s maid, Ellen Nelly Dean, narrating the family s history to Lockwood, tells him the family s first impressions and their treatment of the boy. She states, they entirely refused to have it in bed with them, or even in their room; and I had no more sense, so I put it on the landing of the stairs, hoping it might he gone on the morrow (BrontĂŤ 40). Both children are upset at Heathcliff for have crushing the gifts their father has promised to bring back to them. Neither let him room with them, resulting in Heathcliff sleeping on the floor outside of Mr. Earnshaw s room for the first night of his arrival. Aside from being an orphan, this was Heathcliff s first experience with rejection at Wuthering Heights. Not only did the children dislike Heathcliff for have ruining their gifts, but the adults did not appreciate his arrival either. Nelly claims she hopes it might be he gone on the morrow (BrontĂŤ 40). In addition to wishing the boy would disappear, she refers to Heathcliff as not the pronoun he, but with the word it, degrading him to a thing as opposed to a human being. Nelly then descripes Mrs. Earnshaw s opinion on the boy, Mrs. Earnshaw was ready to fling it out of doors: she did fly up, asking how he could fashion to bring that gipsy brat into the house, when they had their own bairns to feed and fend for?, (BrontĂŤ 39). • 5. Minoan Crete Research Paper The first great age of Minoan Crete was the Old Palace period(2000 1700B.C),during which huge labyrinthine palaces were built at Knossos, Phaistos, Malia and Zakros. In these palaces the power and wealth of the island were concentrated, and around them the political, social, economic and religious life of the island revolved. The manner in which these buildings and their various servicing systems were constructed is quite remarkable. In 1700 B.C. a great earthquake shook the island and the palaces were laid in ruins. In a very short time, however, new palaces were built on the ruins of the old in an architectural style expressive of the Minoan love of nature and desire to live in a world of light and charm. The Mycenaean civilization flourished during the period roughly between 1600 BC, when Heliadic culture in mainland Greece was transformed under influences from Minoan Crete, and 1100 BC, when it perished with the collapse of Bronze Age civilization in the eastern Mediterranean. Mycenaean artifacts have been found well outside the limits of the Mycenaean world: namely Mycenaean swords are know from as far away as Georgia in the Caucasus and Mycenaean bronze double axes and other objects dating from 13th century BCE have been found in Ireland and in Wessex and Cornwall in England. ... Examples Of Literary Devices In The House On Mango Street Literary devices may be used to add more dimension and description to writing, but they can also show multiple characters perspectives, too. These perspectives can portray insights on characters that show true personalities. In The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros, certain examples of literary devices are strategically used to do so. The story includes different vignettes that guides through the main character s, Esperanza s life. Each vignette illuminates Esperanza s problems and outlooks about race, gender, economic status, age, and society as a whole. Before they talk, Esperanza states that Alicia gave Esperanza a bag with the word GUADALAJARA stitched onto it, which is home for Alicia, and one day she will go back there (106). Here, Esperanza contrasts her temporary home with Alicia s permanent one. While Alicia has an actual home where she can live for the rest of her life; Esperanza doesn t and continuously moves to her different homes . By comparing her home, she is implying that she wants a home where she can settle and be happy, not like the one on Mango Street. This ultimately shows that she s not satisfied with her current lifestyle and wants for a better life. Another comparison is when she compares her age and gender with an older man. In the vignette The First Job , she lands a job at a photo developer studio where she hides from the other men and women at lunch time because she is scared of them looking at her. Subsequently, she meets a man who says it s his birthday and asks for a tiny birthday kiss, and she thinks I thought I would just because he was so old... he grabs my face with both hands and kisses me hard on the mouth (55). Here, Esperanza compares her age and gender with the actions that the older man does. She is working a normal day, then randomly a guy comes up and kisses her directly, without her consent. By showing this example of an old man in the workplace, she is basically stating men, especially older ones, are dangerous by sexually harassing young women such as herself. This means that she doesn t visualize men as people who she will marry and live a happy life with, but people who are filled with evil. This makes going on the internet seem like an odd way to find more communities, form new ones, or strengthen pre existing ones. The internet however is full of communities. Communities can be based upon religion, location, ethnicity, an interest, or a personal matter. The internet itself is a global distributed data communications network (Kirmayer, Raikhel, Rahimi, 2013, p. 166). This is what makes the internet so full of communities because communication is the key to putting multiple individuals with commonalities into communication, which is the basis of any community. Online communities differ from communities that exists off the web in a couple of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This distinction of authority aids in creating a hierarchy within a community. With online communities, every member is often able to contribute equally, allowing their voice to be heard. This gives the impression that every individual is an authority figure on a subject due to their ability to be equally heard. (Cellary, 2008, p. 107) For example to post a video about cats on Youtube, it is equally as easy for one person as it is the next to post a video. They simply must own a camera, have a Youtube account, be willing to record something about cats, and post it on Youtube (How to upload videos, n.d.). A third and huge difference between the two types of community is that online communities offer up the chance to be anonymous. Online one can identify with the use of almost any name or image. The name doesn t have to be a real one, and there s not really any way for one to prove the image is truly theirs or of themselves (Cellary, 2008, p. 107). However, this ability for anonymity within an online community doesn t necessarily mean privacy. The study Internet social network communities: Risk taking, trust, and privacy concerns by Fogel and Nehmad (2008) talks about how much university students are willing to share on social media. Although the study does strictly look at one set of university students, it gives an example of how much individuals are willing to share personal information such as pictures of oneself, ones email address, instant messenger address, ... In general, the data transfer rate reflects changes and improvements in digital technologies, where newer systems, such as solid state electronics, have resulted in much higher data transfer rates within only a few decades. Often, people mistake transfer rate with broadband, nevertheless, they are two different things working in slightly different ways. Transfer rate looks at the amount of data that has actually been transferred between two different points, while bandwidth is a measurement of the theoretical maximum transfer capacity of a certain point on a network. With all this data flowing freely, there has to be some sort of restriction on how fast different applications are. This is where net neutrality comes into play. For example, online streaming effectively requires your computer to download a new image once every fraction of a second. • 15. Social Learning And Constructivism Theory Social Learning and Constructivism Learning is described as a process by which behavior changes as a result of experience. According to Merriam and Cafarella (1991), there are five theories/orientations to learning, two of which will be compared in this paper; social learning theory and constructivism theory. Social Learning Theory Regarding social learning, this theory explains the individual learning process, the formation of one s identity and, how individuals learn by observing others in a social setting. Known as the bridge between behaviorist and cognitive learning theories, it incorporates some aspects of behaviorist and cognitive frameworks (Taylor, et al., 2000. para. 7). As stated by Psychologist Albert Bandura (1986, 1988), Most human behavior is learned observationally through modeling: from observing others, one forms an idea of how new behaviors are performed, and on later occasions this coded information serves as a guide for action. Effective modeling teaches general rules and strategies for dealing with different situations. (Bandura). Concerning social learning, in regards to the role of an instructor, he or she has to be an appropriate model, equip their students to self regulate, self monitor, self correct, and properly self monitor (Ellis, n.d.). • 21. Personal Themes In A Stolen Life By Jaycee Dugard She was alone, she was scared, she had no idea that her normal life would be taken away for the next eighteen years... and hope is the sole reason that she survived it. For kidnap victim, Jaycee Dugard, the word hope brings back a flood of emotions and memories. In her chilling memoir, A Stolen Life , she describes a very personal experience in which she encountered at age eleven, where she soon learned just how important hope was. Dugard never saw it coming when a man named Phillip Garrido stole her from that bus stop on just another normal morning... or so she thought. Soon after, he took her away and held her hostage in his backyard for almost two decades. Interestingly enough, she has miraculously turned this cruel situation into a very inspiring story. Therefore, she proves to us that even if you re living out your worst nightmare, you still have something to live for. For this reason, Dugard puts together a descriptive setting, her absurd relationship with her abductor, and personal symbols to illustrate how just a little hope can be the essence of surviving any situation life throws at you. For starters, it could have been the easiest thing in the world for Jaycee to lose hope by becoming discouraged by the filthiness and disgust of the environment she was held captive in for all of those years. She paints a picture of just how unpleasant her setting was by describing how The desk had lots of junk on it...to the left of the door there is a toilet with a built in ... • 22. Tibetan Independence Essay The Question of Tibetan Independence China has occupied the Tibetan plateau with military force for over 50 years now. The legitimacy of Chinese claims to lawful control over Tibet is an extremely complicated issue, in many ways made more difficult by the unusual relationship Tibet maintained in relation to the international community before 1950. There are several competing considerations regarding Tibet s rightful status, each to be addressed in turn. A historical account is necessary to address claims that Tibet has always been an integral part of China, as well as to determine what formal arrangements have existed in the past and with what parties. Determining the status of Tibet in international law is a crucial step in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This supposed connection refers to a rather complex relationship that has evolved over a period of centuries. Though historically there certainly has been contact and some degree of connection between Tibet and China, this connection does not necessarily provide the basis for Chinese claims to lawful possession of Tibet. One fundamental issue when dealing with the legal status of Tibet is to first determine what the name Tibet refers to, which is in fact enormously controversial. The current Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR) as designated by the PRC is not equivalent to the traditional Greater Tibet referred to by Tibetans. There are large groups of ethnically Tibetan people in the Qinghai, Sichuan, and Gansu provinces of China, separate from the TAR. These regions lay outside of what Melvyn Goldstein terms political Tibet , the central Tibetan areas administered as part of Tibet more or less continuously since the inception of unified Tibetan government. Tibetans in exile consider the eastern regions, which they know as Kham and Amdo to also be contained within Tibet . Goldstein dubs these areas ethnographic Tibet (Goldstein xi). The distinction between political and ethnographic Tibet creates confusion, much of it willful, in discussion of the historical relations between Tibet and China. For example, there are instances where the Chinese claim that they received governmental ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. Definition Essay On Patriarchy Guess What? You re a Feminist! Feminism is not a radical movement or a fringe movement or an embarrassment or a fraud. Feminism is simple. The patriarchy does exist. To identify as a feminist is to acknowledge that women are people, and, as such, women deserve the same social, economic, and political rights and opportunities as other styles of people (i.e., men people). To be a feminist is also to acknowledge that the world is not, currently, a fair and just and safe place for women to exist. Because it is not. Obviously (see: everything ever). To deny these things makes you, at worst, a bad person who hates women, including but not limited to: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez, your mother, Jennifer Lopez s mother, Jennifer Garner s Aunt Marcy, Michelle Obama, Ellen DeGeneres, Cher, Julie Andrews, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kraken Kardashian, Karphone Kardashian, Kickball Kardashian, Kornkob Kardashian, and THE VIRGIN FUCKING MARY. On April 1st, 1945, Easter Sunday, more than 180,000 Marine Corps and the U.S. Army troops descended on the Pacific Coast of Okinawa for a final threat towards Japan ( Battle of Okinawa ). The Battle of Okinawa was also known as Operation Iceberg. Operation iceberg is a codename of the major battle fought on the Pacific island of Okinawa by the United States Marine and Army forces against the imperial Japanese Army. Operation Iceberg was said to be, in every way, vast compared to any other operation. American troops believed that when they captured Okinawa, the rest of Japan s homeland would be easy to destroy and take over. It was the largest amphibious landing in the Pacific Theatre of WWII and was proven to be the deadliest battle on the pacific side of WWII ( Battle Of Okinawa: Summary, Fact, Pictures and Casualties. ). The Pacific Campaign started after the attack of Pearl Harbor. It involved six countries and over 180,000 casualties. Japan s belligerent acts and attitude towards Americans only provoked and encouraged the troops to attack more immensely. The Japanese knew the battle was in extremis, but still continued to fight for honor. Essay On Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome For the past 50 years acute respiratory distress syndrome or better known as ARDS, has been an issue in hospital intensive care units all around the world. The first documented published scientific description dates back to 1821 when Laennec described the gross pathology of the heart and lungs and described idiopathic anasarca of the lungs; pulmonary edema without heart failure in a treatise on diseases of the chest. 1 Cardiac and non cardiac issues were not taken into consideration as part of the cause at that time. An expert panel agreed that ARDS is a type of acute diffuse, inflammatory lung injury, leading to increased pulmonary vascular permeability, increased lung weight, and loss of aerated lung tissue. The clinical hallmarks are hypoxemia and bilateral radiographic opacities, associated with increased venous admixture, increased physiological dead space, and decreased lung compliance. The morphological hallmark of the acute phase is diffuse alveolar damage (ie, edema, inflammation, hyaline membrane, or hemorrhage). 3 It was at this conference that the Berlin definition was put into existence. Though it is to note that most research to date has been done using the AECC definition, the Berlin definition removed what was known as acute lung injury. Under the new Berlin definition patients with a PaO2/FiO2 ratio of 200 300 while on a PEEP of +5 would now be classified as mild ARDS, while patients with a PaO2/FiO2 ratio of 100 200 would be classified as moderate anything under 100 would be classified as severe. As these robots became more advanced they were equipped with internal sensors which gave them a major advantage over first generation robots. This new technology gave them increased information about the world around them. Robots use sensors to detect changes around them and to respond to their surroundings based on the information they receive from certain sensors. There are many types of sensors that perform a variety of tasks by transforming mechanical, heat, and light energies into electrical signals. The signals produced by sensors communicate to the robot on how it should respond to different situations. This gives the robot a higher sense of intelligence and adaptive skills by providing more information about its environment. These skills allow the robot to change their manipulator location and the position of its end effector so that it can work around obstructions in its work envelope. The robot s surroundings, the precision needed, and what must be sensed all help decide what type of sensor must be used for the robot. Depending on these credentials, robots could be equipped with light, optical, sound, or temperature sensors.
