In 1806, Prussia s army had one of the most powerful army in the world. During this time,
Napoleon I made many changes in German speaking lands such as freeing the serfs, making

Central Regional High School. Excited about the years ahead, I applied to many schools
throughout the United States. I applied to two schools in Alabama, two schools in Indiana, two
schools in New York, and only one in New Jersey Rutgers. My initial goal was to be my own
person and go to a University that no one in my family had attended. In fact, my goal was to
attend Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. This was a dream because my closest
grandfather had planned to go there to study engineering. Being a bright student, he was accepted
with a scholarship. Getting ready to leave to form a new beginning and only a few days before

One morning I decided to check before class and hope that my day would not be ruined from
there. Having been the only university I applied to at this time, there was nothing to fall back
on. Logging in for the eleventh time in three days, the application looked as if there was an add
